i have a diabetic type wound that is infected, how can I drain it or clean it and heal it? it is on the bottom of my big toe. it looked like a paper cut for 2 months, but gets more painful and more infected every day. It is throbbing. My whole toe is swollen and painful and infected.

Stephanie, for that I would take out "the big guns" and use a paste of French Green Clay and water. Other clays are also good.

Iodine will help, put it on directly. There are iodine patches that professionals use to swipe the area.

Dr Wheatgrass's products may help, worth checking out.

Some people use silver to help with infections.

If this is open, it is considered to be a wound. Wounds require regular cleaning and dressing.

It would be good to consult with a licensed medical practitioner about this.

Infection level is nothing to mess around with, it can grow exponentially very quickly and become life threatening.

Most areas in the US have home health nurses that will come to your home - most of the time free - to dress wounds and keep an eye on infections. They will also know when it is time to see professionals before it gets to the point where you have to have a toe or two amputated - do not want that!!! I'm speaking from the experience of a close relative.

A Cajon doctor told this remedy. A spice called file [used in gumbo] mix it with a little water to make a paste. Put it on the wound every day. It will heal in about a week.I don't know if this will help. But it is worth a try.i am not sure how to spell it

I'm an old-school Mississippi/Louisiana healer. MSM powder, pronounced FEE-LAY, is from the bark of the Sassafras Tree. It flavors up your gumbo real good. Some folks add other spices with it. It's been around seasoning food for years. Like most seasonings, it can be used for Healing, too. MSM Powder can also be made into a Poultice for Wounds.

Filé is not MSM. I repeat, Filé is NOT MSM. It's sassafras bark.

Garden-variety Hydrogen Peroxide would be good. Also, look into Dragon's Blood - it's known widely down here and is said to heal skin issues on 2 or 3 days. Please also look into Dr Jason Fung videos. Diabetes is curable.
