Hello Art,

I have been taking your Now HA remedy for one week and out of pain with my DDD disease. Should I take 2 capsules 3 times daily now that I am out of pain? Thanks so much for helping people.

Hi Phyllis,

Thank you very much for the important feedback on hyaluronic acid (HA) and Stopain for degenerative disc disease (DDD)!

Given that it worked so well and so fast to stop your DDD pain in just a week, why not try two a day instead of three a day of the HA. If it doesn't maintain your relief as well as the three capsules per day, you can always go back to three a day.

I have a question for you. You say you have no pain after one week of using this two part regimen of hyaluronic acid plus Stopain and I am wondering if you are still needing to use the second component, Stopain, anymore? It is intended only for temporary pain relief until the HA takes effect and then the Stopain should no longer be needed.

Please come back and let us know how two a day of the HA capsules works out for you.

Hi again, Phyllis,

I forgot that I wanted to reiterate the dosing for the NOW hyaluronic acid (HA) capsules that you are taking.

The total dose that has worked for others is a total of 300 mg per day in three divided doses of 100 mg each, such as 100mg with breakfast, 100 mg with lunch and 100 mg with dinner. Is this what you are doing?

Your proposed decrease would require one 100 mg capsule with breakfast and one 100 mg capsule with dinner.

Were you taking the now brand double strength capsules? And how many a day? One of the reasons I quit taking them was I developed a dull pain between my shoulder blades, the pain stopped after I stopped the HA. I went on boswellia and found some relief for a while but it didn't last long.

Hello Art. I am new at this replying and I must have done something wrong so I will reply again. I did stop taking the Stopain before I started the double strength Now HA. I was taking one capsule after each meal and when I feel confident that I will not get the pain again I will start taking the two capsules instead of 3.

Phyllis,

Well, you got the post right this time!

Thank you for the clarification on the Stopain and hyaluronic acid usage. I'm very happy that the combination has worked so well and so quickly for you. Please update us on how two capsules work out for you when you get to that point. You are one of the fastest responders to this DDD remedy.

Hi Art.

I just want to give an update on the HA. Back in August I took the Now HA 100mg. capsules one 3 times daily and was also taking the Stop Pain until after a week I was out of pain. I then took one HA capsule twice daily instead of 3 to find out if it would keep me out of pain and it did for a few months. The end of October I started having the back pain again this time in my sacroiliac joint and the pain came on pretty sudden and got really bad quickly so I started on taking the one capsule 3 times daily again and I forgot to do the Stop Pain roll on. I wasn't getting much relief so I went back and read the instructions again and then realized I forgot to do the Stop Pain roll on. This was 2 days ago and when I started doing the roll on after the 3rd application the pain is subsiding again. I forgot doing the roll on probably because of my age but I realize now that it is very important to do the roll on until you get out of pain doing the 100 mg. capsules of the HA 3 times daily. When my pain is completely better I wil stop the roll on but will probably continue the 3 daily dosage of HA for a long time because I certainly do not want to go through this ever again.

My question is: How long do you think I should continue taking the one capsule of HA 3 times daily before trying to go back to just 2 HA twice daily? Needless to say I learned a lesson the hard way. Thanks for the good instructions Art.

Phyllis,

Thank you very much for coming back to give a detailed response to your experience with using the Stopain/Hyaluronic Acid (HA) combination for degenerative disc disease (DDD).

To answer your question, I should say that initially when I started testing this combo, I thought that there would possibly never be a time when the HA dosage could be reduced because I thought a constant intake of HA would be needed in order to maintain the benefit. It was only with time and feedback from friends who were testing this combo that I realized that with time, it may be possible to reduce the dosage of HA and possibly no longer need to use it.

What I found is that this feature varies significantly from person to person with some people being able to maintain the benefit as long as they continue taking the full dose of HA, while others could reduce their dose after a few months of being on HA to two capsules per day while others could reduce to one capsule and one other said they were able to stop taking HA after about a year with no return of pain.

So far, it appears that some people's DDD is significantly worse than others and will need to take HA much longer than those with DDD that isn't too bad and there is no practical way for me to put a timeframe on how long it will take for each person to be able to start reducing their dose, but I have seen it done, so I know it is possible to get to a point where the HA is no longer needed to maintain the benefit.

In general, it takes years to decades for DDD to develop and I think a year is a minimum in terms of HA working to repair this damage to the discs.
