I am thinking about having a shunt put in but don't cherish the thought. I am 80, I don't have any of the dementia symptoms that come with NPH, at this point.
Thank you for your help!

I got a lot of help from a day center hospital rehab facility where I went 2 or 3 per week. This helped me a lot to regain balance etc..
Hope my story is helpful.. good luck and most important is to avoid falls..
Cheers, Thomas

Hello Thomas.I am 82 years old and experiencing mobility issues and it sounds like your condition is similar to mine. Do you take any medication and if you can suggest to me I will appreciate very much. I am in a NPH condition. If you could reply to me I will be grateful.
Thank you
Ken

I am a 76 year old female. We are still determining if I have NPH. I have constant ringing in my ears, headaches of varying degree, increased BP, increased anxiety; but in all fairness, my husband died 1 1/2 years ago, left me in a brand new house we had built, and it has been expensive and the yard a lot to keep up with. I have sold the home and return to my life long friends close to Charlotte NC. I often times "wander" to the left or right first thing in the morning or during a long walk. I can ride my bike just fine. I have no incontinence, nor cognitive issues. My gait is normal.I am curious, why is flying or driving long distances difficult?
Et j'adore la France. J'espère voyager là-bas l'année prochaine.

They're working on an eshunt for this with miraculous results, which means almost no side effects. However the FDA hasn't approved it yet so it's on hold....
