Take cimetidine (Tagamet) 200mg 2tabs twice/day for 3 days to halt a herpes outbreak. It's most effective at the beginning of a flare up but has some effect even later on. This is an OTC med that can be purchased at any Walgreens or Walmart for heartburn but it also boosts the bodies production of interferon. It is not a long term solution. I have used this many times on my own herpes infection (including shingles, herpes simplex type 2) and on my granddaughter's ocular herpes with nerve involvement around the eye and scalp. It works. She was hospitalized at 5 yrs old with ocular herpes and put on morphine for pain, but it was cimetidine that calmed the herpes and she has taken cimetidine (pediatric dose) at the onset of further symptoms for 3 days as described above. She is now 12 and has had no further serious herpes pain/episodes that this couldn't suppress. (I found this remedy while researching chemo treatments several years ago.)

I saw your message on Earth clinic regarding the treatment of Herpes. I have ocular herpes and my daughter of 3 years caught it as well. I hope Cimetidine works for us when we use it as she is always in pain.

You may want to try BHT as it will damage and suppress the herpes virus, but you will never completely get rid of the virus as once you have it, you will have it for life. But BHT will suppress it sometimes for a long time. Start with a dosage for the first few days with up to 900 mg and then taper off to about 400 mg. BHT works best when first dissolved in oil as it is only soluble in oil or alcohol, but alcohol is not recommended. This way it is better absorbed in your system. In addition, you may want to use Lysine about 1500 mg/ day as it helps to prevent the spread of the virus. Hope it helps.

Thank you Nena! I've had genital herpes since I was 24. I'm now 53. I've always used coconut oil rubbed on at the first feeling of a breakout and then start taking high doses of Lysine. Those things have been a lifesaver in either stopping or reducing horrible large outbreaks that would last for 10 to 14 days before I learned of that combo. That combo dropped them down to 4 to 7 days.

About 10 days ago, 2/25/25, I started taking Diatomaceous Earth in the hopes of helping with multiple severe debilitating health problems that I've had for 7 years now, since March 2018.

The top 7 are:

  • Insomnia (inability to FALL ASLEEP EVER and stay asleep without Xanax).
  • Joint and Bone Pain (especially when sleeping). Frozen Shoulder has also started in last 2 months.
  • Low Blood Pressure (after I eat anything AND upon waking).
  • Severe Chronic Daily Constipation (Yes I know like 10+ natural remedies & all stopped working).
  • Food Allergies to nearly everything.
  • Parasites (I have many pics to prove I have them, but 2 stool tests never revealed.
  • Candida & BV

The DE has been the ONLY CONSISTENT THING that has completely stopped my daily Low Blood Pressure and Severe Constipation. So 2 down and 5+ to go! Hooray!

But it comes with a horrible side effect for me. MAJOR Herpes breakouts on my bum AND in my left eye!

So far Tagamet or Cimetidine has stopped the break out in it's tracks on my bum that Lysine and CO weren't and the itching in my left eye has greatly lessoned. The left eye herpes came with covid in Nov 2020.

I don't want to stop taking the DE, because the best success stories I've read on here were with 2 different couples that took 1 - 2 TBSN of DE and 1 got rid of parasites he could see too that caused him to lose 50 lbs in 2 months and he was dying, posted by JulesElway07 (Denver, USA) on 07/25/2024 and Multiple Benefits for Sherri (Rockford, IL) on 08/17/2011 she and her husband got rid of so many ailments I can't begin to list them all, but it was A LOT!

Hi Kim L.,

Food grade diatomaceous earth (FGDE) at 2 tablespoons per day caused severe constipation for me. I tested it three different times and it always resulted in constipation.
