I am surprised that no one has mentioned nitric oxide boosters for cardiovascular disease. I have researched alternative medicines for many years and there are a couple of nitric oxide booster products that treat coronary heart disease. The main ingredients include the amino acids Arginine and Citruline and high levels of vitamin D. This product was tested on 30 heart disease patients. All patients ran out of any other options and 60% were on a heart transplant list. ALL got better and went home. You can find videos of the project on the internet. Both patients and those who performed the study were interviewed. The product is now in the physicians reference and a hospital uses the product as a first line of defense.

These boosters are based on a nobel prize linking nitric oxide to cardiovascular health. Viagra uses this same principle and so does nitro glycerine which is used by patients with angina. In fact, erectile disfunction is usually just an early sign of heart disease. If you have heart disease anywhere, you have it everywhere.

I was introduced to it by a friend about 10 years ago and have used it ever since. I am now 69 years old. My dad died from a heart attack at age 59. I used to get a lot of arrythmia's (PAC's, PVC's and some atrial fibrillation) I have had none since I started using these products. I know that this works for me because I was having problems with ED but since using this I have absolutely no problem. The product is great for diabetics and claims to get rid of neuropathy. I have a friend who comfirms this.

It is important to get a decent product. There are now a lot of people trying to sell nitric oxide boosters but I think most are not very good. If the product only has arginine in it, it will not work because citruline is needed to extend the process throughout the day.
Note that arginine can casue some diahrea in the beginning.

He hasn't given a name but at Health/Supplement stores like GNC or Vitamin shop I've seen products on the shelves that were Nitric Oxide booster etc. The main ingredient was "L-Arginine" you can even get this at Wholefoods / Walmart etc.. Make sure to read the side effects/reviews.

Supplementing with L-Arginine will boost Ntric Oxide, but it will also disrupt the arginine/lysine ratio which is not good! I know this from when I used arginine plus NAC for blood pressure control. It worked very well for the purpose, but I started getting colds one after another. I had never gotten so many colds one after the other and that is when I realized I was upsetting this balance by bringing too much arginine into my system and as soon as I added lysine into my regimen, the colds stopped!

Of importance is that colds are often times a Coronavirus as is Covid-19. Another problem that can develop is that pushing the arginine / lysine ratio toward arginine can also cause herpes flair ups and are likely to make it easier for certain viruses to take hold. Lysine works against this issue of too much arginine. Art

How much l-lysine did you take to correct the imbalance?

Susan,

I was taking 1000 mg to 2000 mg of L Lysine to help maintain the Lysine/Arginine ratio.

Here is a link to the original study that used Arginine and NAC :

https://diabetesjournals.org/care/article/31/5/940/29974/Long-Term-N-Acetylcysteine-and-l-Arginine

Although that supplement trio worked for me, I am no longer using that method to normalize my blood pressure because I didn't want to have to take 3 supplements just for blood pressure and I didn't want to have to worry about keeping my Lysine/Arginine ratio in balance.
