ok so I googled it a bit this morning and you can dry them whole, then push them through a sieve when you want to make tea or put them in a food processor if you have it. But honestly I think I will just pick and dry as many as I can and then either boil them or just put boiling water on top when I want tea. There's a recipe online - wash fresh elderberries and add 80% vodka. Made several batches - it's strong but very high in C! Tried locating the hollywarner article mentioned below but couldn't find.
