I used castor oil on my feet at night to get rid of bone spurs on the bottom of my feet. After showering I rubbed a generous amount of castor oil on my feet put on socks and slept with them on all night for about 1 month. The bone spurs are gone and my feet feel so much better. I recommend that to anyone with aching feet. It works.

I have severe bunions on both feet with bone spurs atop one foot. I also have 2 very large and unattractive Heberden's nodes on my right hand. I tried the castor oil 24/7 on my feet for nearly a year and it did nothing to shrink the bone spurs, ditto for the bunions. The finger nodes are basically permanent, but I haven't given up. Any other tips that others have used successfully would be most welcome. I will say that castor oil rubbed into the hip joint for pain relief is nearly miraculous.

Dear Katicia,

I am so sorry about the bunions and bone spurs!

Have you tried a barefoot style of shoe? My 18 year old son has developed a bunion with pain and I realized it is from his cowboy boots. He is experiencing relief already by switching to barefoot style shoes. He is young though, and I am hopeful it is correctable.

He is also using toe spacers every night for 30 minutes, like what you would use for a pedicure. I am trying to get him to do other foot and toe stretches. Strong feet muscles is underrated in my opinion. There are many videos on youtube to help with foot strengthening. Shoes with too much support enable feet to get lazy, too. It can be necessary, but needs to be balanced with barefoot walking, stretching, and strengthening.

And obviously, tight shoes and high heels are the worst enemies of feet.

I hope you find some relief!
