I dont have insurance so I was looking around online for a do it yourself remedy and found something on eBay where if you payed the guy like $10, he would send you the instructions on how to fix them yourself for "really cheap ingredients you can buy at your local grocery store" I never did that but I did find this site and its probably the same solution noted here.
Anyway, I just got some Apple Cider Vinegar.. put a bit on a small folded paper towel, applied to the wart on the shaft and wrapped with a couple bandaids so they would stay in place. I'll let you all know how it works out!
VERY HOPEFUL!

As I pulled the cotton away, part of the wart.. like the top part came with it. Kinda gross.. but still.. that seemed promising. It didnt hurt.. but then, I wasnt exactly ripping at it.. it just came away when I took the cotton away. Part of the wart was black as well.
I took a shower and did not re-wrap. I wrapped it last night and this morning it was stinging pretty bad.. not sure if that was the wart itself or my morning wood pulling at the bandaids but that kind of sucked. Still not nearly enough to make me regret anything so far.

Note that this is a single fairly large wart.. probably about an 1"8th of an inch across. There is one more small one on the other side of the shaft that I will take care of after this one and I expect the small one to take less time than this one.. but I think it's working! WOO!
