Hello Bee from New York:

You're probably referring to the cyanide content when ingesting the wrong or too much B17 content.

You need to get the bitter/raw apricot kernels. I personally use the Apricot Power brand myself. I'm only using them as maintenance & NOT as a cancer treatment.

The general rule is 1 apricot kernel per 10 pounds of body weight. For instance, I weigh 160 pounds so I take 16 kernels per day. If treating cancer, the dosage is much higher. As much as 30-35+ kernels daily for cancer sufferers.

You can also mix/add taking apricot kernel extract in capsule/tablet form as well. Doing it this way would of course decrease the amount of kernels needed daily. Some say the apricot kernels taken alone cures cancer. Others say it takes a more aggressive approach with other support nutrients/supplements like Vit C and B15(Pangamic Acid), AHCC(mushroom extract), etc. The Apricot Power brand kernels I take are very bitter. They're supposed to be that way though. This shows the laetrile content is there.

I compare the taste to Novacane used for numbing in the dental industry. I always chew mine up really well and hold under the tongue for a minute or two before swallowing. Here's a link with further details: http://www.worldwithoutcancer.org.uk/therapy-compontents/

Go to youtube and watch the documentary called " A World Without Cancer" It will explain the process to you. All fruit seeds contain a naturally occurring cyanide, but the cyanide is released only under certain circumstances. It's incredible how efficient our creator designed this planet and it's inhabitants to function dependently on one another. When you stray from the natural origin of your being, that's when trouble ensues. Such as GMO foods, toxins, man made chemicals. These things are not designed to function within the ecological system that was created. People need to wake up and think logically.

It's surprising that there is so much controversy about apricot seeds. When I was a little girl growing up on my grandparent's farm, we couldn't wait until the apricots were ripe so we could eat the nuts (seeds?) We would put them on the concrete steps and hammer them open to get to the succulent sweet nuts inside. They tasted like almonds. I'm sure that the reason they are bitter now is because of all the pesticides that farmers use. We always ate all we wanted. There was never any worry about eating too many. My grandmother would even add them to her jars of canned apricots and other fruits. When I started eating them I was about 4 years old.

I think you're talking about sweet apricots. The apricots containing B17 are bitter apricots, a different species growing in the wild.

Apricot Kernels: Are they or are they not good for you? I just read this article on yahoo news and it really bothers me how much natural things are supposed to be bad for you:

Australian man with cancer takes cyanide in 'herbal pills' for 5 years

Yahoo7 4 hours ago

A 67-year-old man in Australia took 3.9g cyanide every day for five years in a mixture of shop-bought and home-made apricot kernel supplements.

The man had previously had prostate cancer that was in remission. He had been taking two pills of a commercial supplement and two teaspoonfuls of a homemade apricot kernel extract known as 'ake' to prevent recurrence of the cancer, as reported in a rare case in the BMJ....

It would appear that the FDA police have posted this information to throw people off track. They don't like to lose money.
