My scalp psoriasis started making me insane. It only recently started after having psoriasis in my ears for years. A friend suggested psoriasis shampoo from Amazon. I did a search and didn't order the one she suggested but found one from Taiwan that was highly rated, I decided to try. It's spendy but I think a lot of other countries are ahead of us in research and development of more natural remedies. Long story short, I tried it and the reviews didn't lie. The itching stopped almost instantly. A day later, there is still itching on my neck, below the hairline, but not as bad. This is with one application, I feel confident it will continue to improve with more applications. If anyone wants to try it, it's a "scalp purifying" shampoo in a black bottle. There is still a very little habitual urge to scratch but if I ignore it, it goes away. Again, only one application.

Are you allowed to say the name of that shampoo? I have this on my neck right at the hairline and it's driving me crazy.

Please look up on herbal legacy.com and follow the Natural Procedures for Systemic Yeast Overgrowth and Leaky Gut Syndrome. For Intestinal Sweep I used Oil of Oregano with Carvacol (80%) Properties. You can pretty well substitute other brands for products listed. Just compare ingredients. The Lower Bowel Formula is a bowel cleanse. After I finished the procedures, I stayed on high doses of Oil of Oregano spread throughout the day. (I took 2 capsules every one to two hours while I was up) I am also using it on the scalp. Also find other candida cleanse products to alternate with the Oil of Oregano after 3 weeks. Then get back on it. It took away the itch and my skin is clearing. During the procedures I only ate Vegetables, nuts and seeds as recommended. Tough bit necessary. No sugar! I have struggled with skin issues mainly due to allergies and eating sugars. Learned my lesson and eating better now.

Hi Susan,I use Hope Relief Shampoo and would not be without it these days (Australian brand).
It has almost completely cured the Dreaded Itch and, what is more, I don't need to wash my hair nearly so often these days. As I recall, it is pretty natural in its make-up.
I apply a small quantity straight onto the wet scalp and work it in thoroughly.
You need to leave it on for a few minutes and then wash it/rinse it off thoroughly afterwards.
You will need to have a few goes at this before lasting results will become evident possibly, depending on the severity of the "itch".
You may (or may not) need the conditioner that compliments the shampoo. If so, put on the scalp after rinsing off the shampoo-then rinse again..
Good luck and we would appreciate feedback from you.
Cheers,
Michael from Down Under

Yes, Hope's Relief is the only shampoo that works for me. They also have a skin cream which is the only thing that has worked for my skin itch, flaking etc.. The Hope's Relief line was developed by New Zealand Naturopaths and is now sold out of Australia lol

Hello Gail,Yes, Hope's Relief shampoo is a wonder that I wrote about on this Site a while ago now: I am glad that you are having success with it. The dreaded itchy scalp is held at bay with Hope's.
The conditioner they put out offers additional protection but I get by without it.
I don't need to shampoo as often either.
Unfortunately, it does not seem to readily lather in our water, does it lather in yours OK?
I still use it though, as it trumps all others I have tried - natural too, which is a plus.
I also use a 50/50 spray of ACV and H2O and leave on to soak for a while after the shampooing.
Malcolm Harker Herbals stock a skin, itch remover (again an NZ product) which is effective.
Cheers,
M

Hello Gail,I have been wondering how you have been getting on with the Psoriasis issue?
Here are some oils that you could consider incorporating into your diet in small quantities or utilizing in a salve.
My two favourites at the moment are Hemp Seed Oil and Coconut Oil.
Most people are aware of the many virtues of Coconut Oil and it can also be used as a carrier oil for other products for treating the skin. It is soothing for skin conditions. I find the smell very pleasant. I sometimes use it for "Oil Pulling" (see this Site for more info. on that). Use extra- virgin cold-pressed etc. You probably know the drill.
A bottle of Hemp Seed Oil or Flax Oil is usually on the dinner table and we take a drizzle of it with our meal whenever we remember, having faith that it will deliver Linolenic acid and the Omegas 3 and 6, as well as some fatty acids, reputedly able to support suppleness of hair and skin.
Whilst not aspiring to win any beauty contest, the skin tends to dry out a bit as we age and our climate can be harsh on the skin, especially as we tend to spend a lot of time outdoors. It has been claimed that HSO is an effective salve for treating conditions such as Psoriasis, Eczema, and Acne.
Avocado Oil Can be used as a moisturizer and can repair / heal skin. It has five Vitamins, as well as Omega 3 potassium and folate.
Almond Oil protects and nourishes skin, has fatty acids, Vitamins E and K, as well as antioxidants.
Zinc is required for more tasks in the body than any other substance (and I thought it was Magnesium! ) and yet is quite deficient in NZ soils. That's the bad news but the good news is that women need less Zinc than men! Someone I know resolved a long-standing, red nose issue in reasonably short order with a tiny application of topical Zinc (and Castor Oil) ointment to the affected area on a regular basis. There is a test for this - talk to the pharmacist near you.
Another, often overlooked trace mineral, is Selenium, which is also lacking in NZ soils (most Americans get enough from their diet apparently). This one is also necessary for Psoriasis control and skin elasticity. Applying Selenium products to the skin can fix psoriasis and dandruff of the scalp. Low Selenium can be a factor in some cancers and in Arthritis suffering.
The skin, being our largest organ, really ought to have more attention paid to it. It is a bit like your car: we don't attend to its maintenance very well until something goes wrong!!
Gail- let us know how you are progressing please - it may assist others too!
Cheers from somewhere Down Under.

Boric acid USP l have read alleviates psoriasis. Soak a cotton ball dab on affected areas.l would say dab on up to three times a day.
As to a tea Cats claw from Peru only as their variety has more bio activity Wonderful for immune system. Amazon World Botanical's. Works well in a mist bottle so mist on face, hair/ scalp with clean hands rub in. Mist on psoriasis affected areas gently rub on.Actually any skin problem. Drink the tea spring water no R/O (hydrogen bond water Ellis Water best eBay has it)twice a day AM/ PM.
A man called me years ago. He had stage 4 liver cancer. He was entering a university program. Intensive chemo where everyone had hair loss and expectorated, etc. He ordered the Cats claw tea. Did not hear from him for quite some time.Long story short -he called me -5 years in remission; only one who didn't lose his hair and never got sick! Drs. saw this then privately had each patient add Cats claw to their protocol! Works.
So if it can do that let's see how it handles the immune system relative to psoriasis!
