Nadia, Thanks for sharing your success. Congratulations! I wonder if the chlorine helps because it is killing bacteria, or virus, or fungus that is causing the eczema? ElaineReplied By Emily (Waukesha, WI) on 05/17/2026
I finally discovered this at 50 years old! Lifelong eczema. It gets flares under control. It's actually staph bacteria that colonize the skin and cause the weeping. We are prone to staph. Scratching is the culprit. Bleach brings the staph down. I also spray chlorine dioxide spray up my nose, another place where staph can hide. Things are manageable now.
1/8 tsp pure simple normal bleach to 1/2 gallons of water for a hand soak. Or 1/4 cup bleach in a tub filled halfway. Soak for 15 minutes. I do it 3x a week.
