Chelated Manganese Vs Elemental Manganese and Best Way to Take It

Posted By Prioris (Fl) on 06/01/2016

I have see very little dosage discussion related to chelated manganese vs elemental manganese. They say RDA limit is 11 mg. I assume that to mean 11 mg elemental manganese. Same with the studies on high dosages. On the other hand, chelated manganese glycinate is equivalent to 20 mg elemental manganese.

People are using the word manganese but are not distinquishing between the two different forms. The minimal therapeutic dosage is 35-40 mg chelated manganese which is only 4 mg elemental. This is my understanding.

Does manganese absorb better on empty stomach or with food?
