I was just diagnosed with a Mucous Cyst on my index finger, right on top of the first joint and under the fingernail. I talked to a hand surgeon this week and scheduled surgery. I play guitar and I'm very, very reticent to having surgery--I read over all the possible complications, plus the possible regrowth of the cyst, but the surgeon gave me all this data and percentages to prove that surgery is the best option. I suddenly had a thought to check into holistic remedies for mucous cysts. On this site I found many remedies--Frankincense oil, Castor Oil, etc. but I wonder if they work for mucous cysts, which have a stalk that connects down to the joint and has something to do with a bone spur on the joint (kind of complicated). Anyone have any remedies specific for Mucous Cysts on the fingers?
