Tonight I splattered hot grease on my hand. Although I immediately put it under cold water, the burning continued for the next two hours until I put egg whites on it. Ahhh...relief. It dried like a liquid bandaid. I was pain free until I washed my hands later in the evening. Another coat of egg whites and I was pain free again. I'm a believer.

Was so pleased I had read the egg whites remedy when yesterday I burned my finger on the side of a very hot frying pan. Had just cooked my last egg but there was still a residue of white in the discarded eggshell, I smeared this on and YES amazingly the pain stopped instantly. I smeared finger a couple of times more over the course of the evening and this morning just a smooth pink seared patch on my finger, no blister, redness or residual pain. I have been telling everyone about this miracle first-aid burn treatment!!

About HONEY for burns..a couple of years ago I poured boiling water into my hand instead of my tea-cup (go figure!) I did the ice water thing immediately to help the pain, then put a big blob of honey on the scalded surface of my palm, covered this with a cloth and put an ice pack on top. The ice helped with the pain but I had to keep renewing it. After 2 hours when the pain had finally subsided I removed the cloth and there was no sign of the scald at all. It was as if it had never happened. The honey was wonderful for the healing the skin, but the egg white is fantastic for the pain of a burn.

EGG WHITES, REALLY? YES!!! REALLY!!!

Hello, all....I'm sure you are aware of the multiple postings on here for egg whites, I have read them all......so let me save you some time. It does work!!!!! I am typing this with my left hand soaking in a bowl of egg whites and absolutly no pain or burning sensation at all.

Earlier this morning at 7am (it is now 10:45am) I burned my hand with scalding HOT coffee, by accidentally pushing the button on our automatic dispensing coffee maker. Mind you this was 1 minute before walking out the door to drop the kids off at school. I screamed (thank goodness the kids were already in the car), cried, ran my hand under cold water (which really didn't help too much), told my husband what happened, then walked out the door with a Spiderman ice pack we had sitting in our freezer. I kept the ice pack on during the drive and for a total of 2 1/2 hours once back home.

I still had severe pain and my ice pack was completely melted. After calling all the moms I knew for alternatives, I couldn't stand the pain any longer....so I opted to jump online and look for home remedies. Praise God that I ran across this site and tried the egg whites which stopped the pain immediately. Even when I take my hand out for a few seconds to do something, the layer or coating of egg whites on my hand keeps the pain from coming back.

Not sure how long the burn will take to completely heal (I will comment again when that happens), but all the redness and pain are gone and it LOOKS like it will heal fine, without blistering or peeling. WE'LL SEE :o)

****There is one piece of information I would like to share: The temperature of the egg whites determines the soothing level of the remedy. Occassionally the pain or burning feeling would come back once my hand warmed the liquid, so I would add another egg white to the bowl to cool it down. The colder the egg whites, the less pain you feel.

THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH EVERYONE FOR YOUR FEEDBACK!!!!!! I WOULD NOT HAVE TRIED IT IF THERE WEREN'T SOOO MANY COMMENTS LISTED.

My Daughter who is 7 accidently back into my Husband's moped yesterday and burnt her arm she ran in to the house and put a rag on it and in the process she tore away the blister that immediately formed. The burn is about 4 or 5 inches long and about 2 inches wide. Half of it is exposed new skin because of the blister being torn away. She was in pain and saying it was stinging I went looking for advice for her and found your site. I opted for using the egg whites as it had the most replies and seemed least painful for her. I cracked and separated an egg and tore out the membrane of the egg placed the membrane over the burn and applied the egg whites covered it and she was out of pain almost immediately we continued to keep it wet and when she woke up this morning I took off the bandage and it still look gnarly but she is in no pain. Thanks for all the great help and my daughter thanks you also. I sure would have never thought to us egg whites I just wanted something that would not hold in the heat.

Oh my goodness! I found this site last week for a DIFFERENT ailment. Last night I was microwaving potatoes (to have a baked potatoe faster than normal). The microwave is on top of my fridge. They were in, on high, for about 10 minutes. I pulled out the bowl to add more water and spilled the water down my left arm. INTENSE PAIN!!!!! WORSE THAN HAVING MY 10 LB. BOY 13 YEARS AGO!!!!! After holding freeze pops on my arm for about an hour I finally remembered this site. I was VERY SKEPTICAL. I only had 2 eggs. Very carefully, I used my pointer finger and put a thin layer on the burns which covered about 75% of my lower arm. Instant relief. I tried to lay down but they dried and the pain came back. I took 1 paper towel and soaked it in my only 2 egg whites. I covered the burn, wrapped it in saran wrap and went to bed. This morning there are NO RED MARKS, NO PAIN, IT'S LIKE IT NEVER HAPPENED!!!!! I am shocked and so VERY VERY VERY THANKFUL FOR THIS WEB SITE! I LOVE ALL OF YOU! PLEASE DON'T STOP SHAING YOUR HOME REMEDIES!!!!!

I burned the three fingers on my left hand by touching the lawn mower muffler and the pain was very intense I couldnt stand it anymore, pulled up this web site and tried the egg thing. I used 2 eggs without the yolks, like Madge would say "your (I am) soaking in it right now" And typing w/one hand. Still stinging a little but major difference in the pain, only been soaking for 10 minutes or so, Time will tell. I would def recommend this. The only way I could get out of pain was cold water and then I would be ok for about a minute or two then I would haft to go back under the cold water and it was getting pretty annoying. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND TRY THE EGG WHITES IT WORKS.

For years in the resturant biz I have used egg whites for burns/ice: 1st then egg white. I swear by this you will have very little blistering if any. For severe burns pull the film layer from the inside shell and use it to cover the area then keep moist with egg white. It is the best I've ever used including aloe. Stay Healthy but when we can't thank you Mother Earth.

My wife burned her hand on a hot pot while cooking. She put ice on it, but after an over an hour the pain was really bad. I found this site and read about using egg whites for burns. Well after about 20 mins. she said the pain was almost all gone. And after 1 hour she is pain free. THANKS SO MUCH. You are a life saver. This site is on my desktop now.

I could not believe how well the egg white remedy worked for the burn on the palm of my hand. I grabbed a cast iron skillet that had just come out of a 400 degree oven and was in horrible pain for 2 hours. I had been alternating soaking it in icewater and holding ice cubes when the pain drove me to the computer. After soaking my hand in a small plate of egg whites, in 30 minutes the pain was gone, the burn looked minor, and the next day there was only a reddish mark there, no bubble blister!! AMAZING!! wish I had known this cure YEARS ago!! THANKS A MILLION!!!

Fortunately I have not had a fever in a long time. Another use of egg whites is the treatment of burns to prevent blistering and scarring. When my sister was 4 she pulled a boiling pot of water off the stove all down her face. Mother quickly coated her face with egg white. This prevented the expected scarring to all but a spot under her chin, which was missed by the egg white. She still has that scar today. A few years later I foolishly pulled an over boiling pot of coffee off the stove. The sudden movement sent even more boiling coffee spilling out over my hand. Mom immediately covered my hand in egg white. No scarring. If you are in a hurry use the whole egg then in a few moments rinse this off and recoat with egg white. It is because of this that we NEVER use the last egg at our house. The egg yolks have another use, but you must remove all of the egg white (paper towel works great). Taken raw they contain three important amino acids which help boost the immune system (which the whites neutralize). These should be taken on an empty stomach.

I tried the egg whites in desparation! I have VERY severe rope burns on my hands from holding onto a horse that took off on a lunge line - with a 17 year old on top! I wasn't going to let go of that rope, but ended up with VERY bad burns...I was very skeptical but just now tried the egg whites ....and yep - I am now typing this message!! I stuck my whole hand in there! and hardly have any pain now!! THANK YOU! I am sure it will take a while for this mess to heal, but at least now I don't have to suffer :)

About a month ago someone at the gym mentioned a remedy for burns. I'm sure she meant mild burns. Anyway, this past Sunday I went and touched a dish that I had just taken out of the oven. DUMB!! I immediately ran it under cold water then racked a egg and soaked my fingers in the egg whites.WOW!! The next evening I was like wow my fingers don't even hurt and they didn't even blister. Maybe I didn't burn them as bad as I thought but, think I did, and the egg white thing might actually work.
