I tried the turmeric (started about 24 hours ago), and it worked VERY well. The boil is still there, but the pain is almost all gone, man did that work! I don't think I have MRSA but I do get an occasional boil, this one was up to about golf ball size, so VERY painful, hot, and uncomfortable (antibiotics did not help). Very good cure, I am so happy I found your site.

I have had many infections of boils mainly in midlife. I have had some lanced by a dermatologist in their office, and was given antibiotics for them. In 2001 I had a really bad one on top of my butt cheek which was painful and deep, and wouldn't drain. I ended up going to the hospital emergency room for that one and an intern dug deep and lanced that one and sent me home. Within a week I developed 7 more on my body in places I'd never had a boil before, and was gradually getting very sick. I was admitted to the hospital and this time they took me to the operating room, cut them all out, packed them with gauze dressings, and told me it was an MRSA staff infection, normally only caught in Hospitals and Nursing homes. The contagious disease control people were on my case, as many as 12 interns were brought in to look at my wounds. I was given Vancomycin intravenously, was told this was the only antibiotic strong enough to fight this infection, and after being on it for only a few days, I developed an allergy to it and had to be taken off of it. Then they put me on something else. After 2 weeks in the hospital, I was allowed to go home with a shunt in my veins to the heart and at home intravenous and nursing care every day to pack and change my dressings. I now have 7 really ugly scars from that adventure as a reminder. I never sued the hospital, even though I believe that I had a staff infection, that became worse by lancing it in the non germ free emergency room. At any rate that's the history, now for the more recent. I recently, around early November 2006, until Christmas 2006 was over, began to get some more boils. Because of the holidays, I left them go until they were over, but by Christmas I had one the size of a tangerine on my inner thigh causing me a lot of discomfort (I could barely sit or move about); one about an inch or so from that one about the size of a 50 cent piece, another one a couple inches away from that one about the size of a dime, and also one on my pubic area the size of a pea. For me, the thought of having ANYTHING lanced anywhere was horrible, so I began searching the web for possible answers or alternative ideas on what to do. I stumbled across this website (Thank GOD!), and began to read about Turmeric. When so many people seemed to think it worked for them, I decided I would give it a try. Here's the funniest part, and one that some of your readers may go through as well, so be prepared. When I asked my partner to go and ask the pharmacist if they carried it, the guy said "why didn't she call me herself? Does she want some snake oil too?" And proceeded to sell my partner drawing salve. We had a very BIG fight over this, and I finally had a friend of mine go to a health supplement store, and purchase the Turmeric. I bought the capsules, 500 MG Turmeric Curcumin, and took them 3X per day. (Drawing salve did NOTHING). But on Turmeric, within 3 or 4 days, I started to see a difference. It won't be overnight, because it took a while to develop these in the first place, so it will take about the same amount of time for them to be gone completely. In my case total time was 18 days on Turmeric. The largest one did start to drain before taking, none of the others ever did. Because of the draining, I kept that one covered with bandages everyday, and put some triple antibiotic ointment on only that one because it was open. Now keep in mind when I say 18 days, that's to the point where the skin is back to normal. The shrinking happens daily, each day, getting much better after the first few days. I want to thank whoever is responsible for this web site, and for the information I received. I would recommend Turmeric highly to anyone, with a boil or MRSA, and perhaps they could avoid going through what I did the first time around. One more thing. This last episode, I was never cultured for MRSA, so not sure what type of staff I had this time, but I do believe this is a miracle working herbal supplement and it would work on any staff infection or healing process. Because I didn't know what type of staff infection I had, I would suggest if you live with others in the same household, that every time you use the toilet, keep disinfectant wipes or spray nearby, and wipe the seat each and every time you sat down, so that it doesn't spread to the rest of the family. I did this and nobody else got a boil from me. Anyway thanks again, and for those with boils, don't fret, help is as close as the nearest health supplement store, and get yourself Turmeric ASAP! Also, I will add that anyone who puts fingers in their noses best immediately wash hands with antibacterial soap, as everyone's noses contains staff germs, and all you have to do is itch yourself with unwashed hands, and you have a good chance of developing a boil in that spot! Or touching one draining, same thing, common sense....and one more thing I did, I almost forgot. Because one was draining, when I showered, I used betadine solution over the spots even before drying with a towel, since it's antibacterial, and washed with antibacterial soft soap instead of the bar soap that the rest of the family was using. I sincerely hope this is helpful to some of your readers...again thank you so much!

I wanted to report back on using the turmeric spice to clear my daughter of her MRSA infection. My 7 year old daughter has had 3 MRSA infections over the past 4-5 months. Doctors have treated her with bactrim and clindamycin in the past. I wanted to try a natural solution, since I know the infection can easily build up a resistance to antibiotics. So, after searching the net, I came upon this site. Thank you so much! My daughter's boils cleared and drained within a couple of days after giving her the spice. I purchased the pure spice and mixed it with juice and also gave her some of the 450mg pills. She seems to be clear of the infection (we have a follow-up appointment this week). I would recommend using turmeric as an alternative or in addition to antibiotics to clear this infection. Thanks again!

I started this journey while pregnant with my son in 2004. I have no doubt that the first boil which appeared in my groin area was the result of exposure during one of frequent visits to my OB. The boil was half dollar sized, and I let it run its natural course of coming to head and rupturing. It healed by the time I delivered my son January of 2005. At that point I had never heard of MRSA.

Fast forward to November 2006, and I start feeling a hard spot with pain in my groin, opposite from where the original boil was located a year prior. This time I thought I was going to die. It grew to plum size within a week, and I began to have major back and foot pain from walking strange to compensate for the pain. (As a very modest and stubborn girl, I refused to go to the doctor) On the day I thought I might have to make an appointment because I was "dying" I read about Drawing Salve / Black Salve / Icthammol. The girl behind the pharmacy counter knew exactly what I wanted and said it would help without me even telling her what was wrong. It did make the boil rupture just a few hours after application and the pain was over. I watched this thing drain for about an hour making sure I did not contaminate the house, and I watched the "head" or "core" come out before treating with topical MRSA ointment. and throwing out the towels. Exactly a month later boil number two appeared in same general area but a bit smaller. Used Drawing Salve again. One month later boil number three appeared a bit smaller than before. Used drawing salve, but read about turmeric. One month later, (NOW) I felt boil number four, same area as three prior, coming on well ahead of time. (Believe me, you learn the little "itch/tickle" before you can even see or feel it.) Started RIGOROUS turmeric therapy immediately. (FOUR 450mg Turmeric capsules 3x per day with my meal to combat upset stomach) "Kamikaze" turmeric therapy combined with antibacterial soap twice or more daily, topical MRSA ointment (I can only find this at local HEB grocery stores) this thing did not grow larger than a dime, never hurt, never got fever in the area or even pinched. It is now 5 days later, I can no longer feel the small dime sized hard spot, and I am so happy I decided to try the Turmeric before the Salve! I am going to continue the four turmerics until tomorrow, go down to three, then two, then one until I can get down to one per day. I will probably take one per day for the rest of my life, and more again if I feel a little bump coming. It is a good appetite suppressant, and does a good job keeping my congestion at bay as it is now allergy season in Texas. I only notice a little tummy ache when I take the mega dose, but not if I eat, and I can smell a bit spicy when I am working out and sweating. Thanks to all for their testimonials.

I have had MRSA for almost 2 yrs. At present, I have at least 40 boils/blisters in various stages on my body. Since beginning the turmeric Monday evening, I've noticed slow, but steady improvement. I am hopeful that turmeric will finally be my answer to healing. I will post again as I make progress.

I've been taking the turmeric for a week now. I have a condition called Hidradenitis supprativa, which is close to MRSA. I would like to say that the turmeric is working for me, but also i have to add that i changed my diet completely. I've been doing research on this for the past 2 year, but i've found that antibiotics make this worse. Yes it cures it the first time but it comes back more and worse. So this year i decided i was getting rid of this crap and did so much research. After everything i've tried the the turmeric is the only thing where i can say i see a difference. I also know that a good cleanse is important. MRSA using a cleanse system by nature cleanse which i know also that works. For the ones that say turmeric is not working. I suggest that you change your diet. Food plays a big part in the outbreak of boils. I've read about this and people who have changed the way they've eaten for a whole year has not had a outbreak since, but you must do this for at least a year. Mrsa only eating fish, chicken, turkey, fruits, veggies, sweet potatoes, water, eggs, mustard, no mayo at all or dairy, i use rice milk, no sugar at all (this is the worse chocolate), no cakes or cookies, microwave fat free popcorn and few other things. Since this i've been seeing a BIG change in these boils. I'm also losing weight and working out. The turmeric does decrease pain. I haven't had a motrin in days now. So its easy for me to work out. God is Good. Thank you for this site. I will post back from time to time to let you know how things are going. I just pray for strength and that i can continue this for a year.

Turmeric cured MRSA; borax is a dangerous suggestion. You say toe-may-toe; I say ta-ma-toe. I did not realize until a couple of days ago that I was using the less common form, "tumeric". I wanted to follow-up my first post to confirm the final results. The jury is in; tumeric eats MRSA's lunch, at least in my case. My boil is healed. I can kiss my kid again! I finally bought actual measuring spoons and found that the dose of tumeric that I was using was approximately 2.5 teaspoons per, so I was getting between ~5 to ~7.5 teaspoons a day. Not sure how far into overkill that is, but it exceeds the suggested remedy here in "Recipe #1" by something more than double. But hey, it worked. The reported success rate is even better than you post since one of the "Nays" (Karen from Ione, CA) most likely is the same "Karen from Ione, CA" who posted a couple months later to espouse of her success..."

I had a fairly severe case of MRSA over a year ago, bad enough so that I had seven incisions under an armpit, and they had to be painfully treated for a few weeks along with over three months of antibiotics. I do not feel comfortable with that level of pharmacological dependence. That leads to many other discussions, but suffice it to say, I want to be able to treat myself with more independent methods for my own safety. I went to my doctor on this past Monday (April 16th, 2007) and asked him if the sore on my lip was MRSA. I was sure it was. He said no, but that he could swab it and let me know in a couple of days. I came home and decided to treat it like it was and found this site. I have been using a modification of your number one recipe. I mixed a gallon of water with thirty-two (32) oversized teaspoons of ground tumeric and 16 servings of my favorite whey protein drink. I put in the whey after smelling the tumeric. The whey did not do nearly enough to make the drink palatable. The idea was that I would take a half cup twice daily. In essence, that is what I am doing, but to every half cup of my mix I am adding another full cup of juice so that I can get it down. My teaspoons were large, so I am taking a minimum of two teaspoons (and up to three) of tumeric daily split into morning and evening doses. The hard ball of subcutaneous swelling that has characterized my experiences is down in a couple of days from marble sized to pea size. The soreness is almost entirely gone. I have to still call this a work in progress that I will update, but I believe this is a win. When the doctor called earlier this evening (April 18th, 2007), and told me that the swab was positive for MRSA, I was glad! Hey, I have an easy to implement, non-toxic solution because he doubted and did not just prescribe on the spot. I appreciate his due diligence because the monster bugs have been assisted by uncareful prescribing of antibiotics over the years. Thank you for your efforts here on this topic. Very important stuff.

I was browsing through your website to see if i could find something that would help my brother with this staph infection that he contracted at the hospital 2 months ago. He has cirrosis of the liver and it seems to take him longer to heal than anyone else does.Anyway this wound that he has on his bottom was the size of a baseball. They say that it is (MRSA).He was in the hospital for 2 weeks before he could come home. I treat the wound daily at home now and it is almost gone. Now today there is another 3 boils starting to form on his bottom again. I read about the tumeric and warm water solution. I tried it on myself first to see what it tasted like. YUK!!!!How do you get past that taste? For those of you that feel the same way that i do, here is a better way to get this concoction down the hatch. I did the 1 tsp. tumeric and the 8oz. of warm water but i added some garlic powder or you can add minced garlic and a pinch of sea salt to taste. Tastes more like a broth then. My brother actually could tolerate the tast of the solution this way. I just started to try this today so i will let you know if it works on him. I just hope so, I feel so sorry for him. Now if there were only a cure for cirrosis and hep C we would have it made.

Recently I had a painful spot come up on my heel that was itchy, red and swollen. I also had a smaller similar bump on the end of my right index finger. The bump on my index finger didn't hurt but the one on my heel itched like crazy. I thought they were spider bites. While researching spider bites on the internet I discovered the Earth Clinic warning: Lately people have been mistaking MRSA related boils for spider bites. I had been treating the spider bite with antihistamines and hydrogen peroxide for two days with no results. In fact the spot on my heel had gotten worse, it was huge and red. After reading the Earth Clinic warning I realized I was probably dealing with a couple of boils. I immediately purchased Turmeric and started taking that evening. By the end of 24 hours both boils had reduced by half their size. The boils were shrinking, but the skin still looked bad so after two days I started putting iodine on both boils in addition to taking the Turmeric twice a day. I couldn't work three times a day in due to my work schedule. The boil on the end of my finger healed within 4 days. On the 5th day the skin peeled off where the boil had been leaving no sign of the infection. The boil on my heel took longer to heal but it was significantly larger than the one on my finger. It took ten days for the boil on my heel to completely heal. The area on my heel looks great as well. This cure is completely amazing; it saved me from having to take antibiotics and a doctor's visit. It was a miracle cure for me used along with the iodine.

Turmeric is curing my boil....I still have not been tested for MRSA. I have been getting boils since August of 2006. I had spent 2 years working throughout the Caribbean and South America so I am not sure if I picked up a parasite or what. What I do know is these boils hurt so much. I first got one under my arm. The Dr prescribed "Cephalex" It seemed to work in a few days. About 3 weeks later I returned from a cruise to ALaska, thinking I was bit by a spider. No it turned out to also be a boil. The area swelled to teh size of a grapefruit on my hip. "Cephalex" did nothing this time. My doctor pulled out the core and I now have a scar on my hip about the size of a quarter. I have had two more since then. One lanced on the hospital and now a new one on my back. I found this site as I am deperately looking for a cure as I do not want to go throught the pain, inconveniance and scars of these boils any longer. I read about Turmeric on this site and did not have any at home. About three days after the boil started I bought Turmeric. I tried drinking it in water and it was almost impossible, I got half a glass down at least. I then applied it to the boil with Polysporin. I have tried hard to drink Turmeric and juice today and applied more Turmeric. The boil is now wide open and the dr says it is coming along nicely. I will continue with the Turmeric as much as possible and maybe try capsules as a preventaive. Any advice for the scars these boils are leaving all over my body?

I found your website and thank god for the tumeric! I had a MRSA boil at the time that started to go away the day I started the tumeric! I was using powder form tumeric from the spice section. Then I discovered the capsules. I took them at least twice a day. now I take them about every other day and I have not had another breakout!

I have been plagues by chronic reaccuring MRSA infections which lead to painful boils. I have been put on antibiotics several times, only to have the infections come back. I know the correct antibiotics were used but they didn't help. I tried the remedy of Turmeric, and starting taking one 500mg capsule everyday. I did this for three days and by the second day my very painful swollen boil started to drain. The boil was not going to drain on it's own had I not taken the Turmeric. I bought the product at GNC, and it was worth it. Also, I took oregano oil one day before startin the turmeric tratment. I then contiuned to use the oregano oil topicaly on the boil for two days. I found that bactraban ointment burns my skin, and oregano oil just has a warming sensation. I also used an over the counter bacitratian ointment, and kept the boil covered while draining. Oh, and used antibaterical Cethpail soap. It is very gentle. The only thing I would note was that the Turmeric does cause constipation as mentioned on the website. Also may cause increased bleeding. I had nose bleed, and when I nicked my leg shaving it bleed longer than normal. Overall, I am happy I found this remedy. Thank you so much. You saved me another unnecessary trip to the derm. They always seem to make me feel more pain than before I go in.

It rained here in Atlanta on Thursday night for about 6 hours straight. Prior to that it it hadn't rained much for at least 6 weeks. Sure enough, on Friday morning I awoke with the beginnings of a boil in the middle of my right cheek (face). I immediately drank some turmeric in water and sat with a hydrogen peroxide doused cotton ball to the area. Thankfully the boil started to shrink right away and never broke the surface. Last winter '06 in Los Angeles I got 2 boils on my other side, the left cheek. Will have to check the MRSA survey and see if any others from my area are getting them all of a sudden!

My son experienced MRSA and I successfully used Earthclinic's recommendation for Tumeric, baking soda, and sea salt. However, though his wound was getting much better, we still had to drain the puss from the wound 2x a day which was very painful for him and opened his wound even more.

A friend told me to put grated raw potato on the open wound and let it sit until the gratings turned black. We did one application and never was able to get out any puss after that! It sped the healing of MRSA used in conjunction with the tumeric, baking soda, sea salt paste. I was told to apply it to any infection as drawling salve. Amazing!!!
