Sacroiliac Joint Remedies
Posted by Michael (New Zealand) on 12/19/2016

Dear Editor,

Would it be possible to have a dedicated section especially for Sacroiliac Joint Problems? I have been interested in the following products (amongst others) Magnesium Chloride liquid, Castor oil, Peppermint essential oil, ACV, H.Acid, and the Vitamin C protocols especially, but am seeking more clarity on how to proceed and what regime is most effective for this debilitating condition. ( Hats off to Mama to Many by the way-there is not much it seems she doesn't know! ).

It disturbs me that a Sacroiliac Joint issue is frequently misdiagnosed as being a "Sciatica problem" even by some of the top "experts" in the Field. I suspect that a really good Acupuncturist, (with MANY years of experience) might be able to resolve this conundrum for you if you are a sufferer.

Try this trick once or twice a day for starters. Place your fist firmly behind your Sacrum, knuckles touching skin. Then grip that fist firmly with the other hand and press gently for a few seconds. Repeat a few times. Go gently for starters and gradually increase the number of "pushes" and do a few more times per day.

Secondly, with the fingers, latch onto a pinch of muscle on the side of your buttock that is causing trouble. Try to locate the spot where the sacroiliac joint is ---- a little way between spine and hip. Gently pull that spot towards your side/hip on the affected side. Hold for say three seconds and then release. Do this for a few times and then repeat the sequence a few times per day.

Trouble is that there could be two differing types of S I pain that I have been made aware of! The more usual one is where the bones forming the joint move forward and backwards either too much (loose) or not sufficiently (too stiff). The second type apparently affects far fewer people and that is where the Iliac flaps like a bird's wing (best way I can describe it). This is the one where the above second exercise is more appropriate.

Now is probably the time to visit your friendly Osteopath OR Physiotherapist for further clarification of your condition. There are more exercises to do here and some u tube videos are great too for assisting you with your self help regime, which you will seriously need to implement here..

The large inflatable ball is very good for sitting on of course and should be utilized more often by sufferers instead of a chair I think. Wouldn't it be nice though, to accurately know your problem before embarking on treatment? Ha!!

Cheers, Michael

My husband has had hair loss when taking things like this to kill candida. Maybe you have candida or something like that to some degree.

Sulphur, Vitamin C

This isn't a cure, but it is close. I am a massage therapist and my specialty is deep tissue massage. Been doing this since 1980, so my joints were getting pretty well beat up. I tried all the usual remedies but they didn't work. I got turned on to the following:

1G of food grade sulfur along with 500mg of Vit C. I take this combo 6-8/day.

Sulfur has many benefits for the body. I no longer wake up with stiff joints.

Namaw - have your tried activated charcoal tablets for your ibs-d? They help my husband a lot. He takes 4 tablets at breakfast and bedtime and it has reduced his ibs-d symptoms.

I tried the ornithine for my insomnia and took 3 of the now capsules--nothing. Until the next day, when the diarrhea started. My ibs-d is so awful, now I've had the runs since Saturday. Watch out how much of this stuff you take--it may react badly.

Russ, try taking ornithine when you take the borax. It is supposed to mop up the toxins from the dead micro organisms. It works for me. I take about 3 of the now brand capsules about 8 o clock pm and then another 4 right before bed. The insomnia is noticeable if I don't take them.

BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS

I found that borax eliminated my feet (both) pain of at least 4 years duration (caused, I think by many years standing on concrete floors at work) other joints were also becoming painful. I built slowly (over 4 weeks) until my dose was a half teaspoon per day. However I've stopped as I couldn't sleep. I felt good at first but could only sleep for perhaps one hour per night. I was exhausted. I waited a month then started the whole regime again. Same result, no pain but no sleep either.

Gelatin

A few months ago I started taking gelatin for creaky joints and slightly painful knees. I took a teaspoon a day, but that seemed to cause constipation. So I halved it. I put 1/2 teaspoon of the grainy looking stuff of fish gelatin, in a bit of cold water, let it "bloom" (swell) for about 1/2 hour, then added hot water to melt it and drank it as is. I've been doing this almost daily.

I recently went back to an exercise class that I haven't been to in 8 weeks, and I was astonished that NOTHING CREAKED! As different from other times that I missed these classes. My neck is far more flexible too.

When I told someone else, a few DAYS after I started this, that I imagine my knees are complaining less when I bound down my five flights of stairs, he started taking a marshmallow or two a day ("it has gelatin, right?! ")....and also reported a difference! He now takes the gelatin as homemade jello with fruit juice.

HI U BIRDS DOIN, , , , , , , , , , , , , just got Dr. Shallenberger's medical letter and lo and behold he is saying you need boron to get rid of joint pain.

No , he did not say take Borax as we do here at EC, but he did find that Boron is needed to relieve pain along with other stuff. Most other medical folks say that boron is toxic. He is an integrative doctor and does not speak for the establishment. He is one of my heroes because of Ozone and other things he has brought forth.

Anyway, it appears that the folks on this site are a few years ahead of some doctors. I have been taking Aleve for for my back pain and will now switch to borax. As most on this site know, I's smart, jus slow.

Erin,

There is herbal powder, raw herb, resin and essential oil available under the name Boswellia Carterii.

Which one are you recommending and how do you propose to use it? What dosing and frequency do you find to work for sacroiliitis?

I suffer, as most, from occasional joint pain/inflammation. The other morning my neck was severely inflamed, limited motion. I took a cloth dampened it with warm water then some ACV and almost immediately felt improvement. There may be slight discomfort, this is temporary. I would also like to suggest arnica cream. This greatly improved jaw function after surgery and is a great source of minerals necessary to healing injuries. May God bless.

Yes, tumeric research reports that pepperine (black pepper specifically) enhances the efficacy of tumeric/curcumin AND it's necessary to add a dietary oil as well. I also add coconut oil to my tumeric tea/milk (as well as ginger, cinamon, allspice, nutmeg, vanilla bean, molasses, honey)!

Hi there, I'm looking into natural remedies for Sacroillitis. Does anyone know of any? So far, I've tried a massage, the chiropractor, yoga, youtube videos for stretches. It doesn't seem to be helping. I am going to try acupuncture and foot reflexology afterwards. I imagine physio is just stretching exercises, I will still try it just in case. After all this, I still feel intense throbbing up my spine, around my tailbone, my buttocks and shoots down my leg. This is making it really hard to walk. Any advice of herbal medicine or what you may have done yourself would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks, Melody Z

P.S. I should mention that I have been diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis. I am currently on Prednisone and asacol. I hear that gluten free diet helps with Sacroillitis relief as well.. thoughts?

Autoimmune Issues

Lee: There is a good bit of literature in favor of DHEA and particularly 7-keto DHEA for many types immune disorders. At one time I personally experienced noticeable benefits from both. In the nutritional category there are, to my knowledge, only two more nutrients with specific benefits for autoimmunity and they are Colostrum and DMG.

timh, I haven't tried the 7-keto DHEA.

do you recommend this supplement for autoimmune disease? I have just started the chinese medicine treatment but will post any progress that I make.

Lee: thanks for sharing your experience and do please inform us on your progress! Question, did you per chance try 7-keto DHEA in your previous nutritional protocol??? I have read that the 7-keto form of DHEA is preferred over the regular DHEA. Anyway it seems as if auto-immunity is more prevalent and disease causing than what we otherwise know.

LDN or (Low Dose Naltrexone) is gaining much acceptance in the prescription pharmaceutical category. The "low dose" factor makes it quite safe and free of bad side effects BUT packs a good punch for regulating immunity.

I am currently researching other options like Opiates and Cannabinoids.

To all those people who suffer from continuous joint and muscle pain. Have you been tested for autoimmune disease?

I suffererd for years, the doctor told me it was old age, I was 45 at the time, I thought to myself if I feel like this now what am I going to be like in 10, 15 or more years. A few years later another doctor tested me for autoimmune disease which showed my Antinuclear antibodies was high which looked towards lupis. my vit d was also low.

i now had something to work with instead of guessing and trying hundreds of dollars worth of health products which did absolutely nothing because I was not treating the right symptom.

Now I see a chinese doctor who specializes in auto immune disease and is treating me naturally.

Something to think about.

Apple Cider Vinegar and Baking Soda

I've had hip joint pain for 6 months or so now and in the last week my left hip had become much worse so that my walking and sleeping were being affected. First day I tried rest, which alleviated a lot of the pain but the next day I jarred the joint again and the pain relentlessly returned. So yesterday I took 2 Tbsp ACV + 1/2 tsp Baking Soda + 1 Tbsp Agave nectar (it's easier for me to drink this way). Took this again at night before bed IN ADDITION to 2 Tbsp CHERRY JUICE CONCENTRATE for inflammation. This morning pain is back at a 1/10, complete range of motion and ready to stretch those tight muscles. I'll still rest today and keep this "med" schedule up for a week or so. Wow.

Dietary Changes
Posted by Tee (Swedesboro, Nj) on 06/19/2013

Hello, I am wondering with your dietary changes if your vitamins are off, which of course can cause shoulder pain etc.. Have you had any levels checked such as D? I have terrible joint pains etc. and found I had low d, low b's and even low c? It may be throwing your vitamin level off. Just a suggestion..

For the past six months, I have abstained from eating red meat and dairy products. About two months ago, I began to experience joint pain in both shoulders. Could this be the result of these dietary eliminations? Any suggestions. The pain and stiffness in the joints is getting worse.

Fresh Grapefruit Juice

I have been suffering greatly from whiplash and joint pain in my arms. I thought it was a result of doing certain excercises. I could not stand the pain and have been in this condition for over a year. My suffering was great! I even wore a neck brace for relief. My husband rubbed me out but the pain would remain. I didn't go to a doctor because I was afraid I might get worse.

3 days ago I was thirsty and my husband had bought grapefruit. I took two grapefruit and cut them in half and used them in my citrus juicer.

I received about 2 glasses of juice from the two grapefruit. I drank them down and in awhile I could feel weird sensation in my intestines! Like a cleansing! I'll admit it felt strange but after it was over I felt really good. And in a few hours I felt the pain had left my neck and arm joints! Hispanics believe that food can get stuck in the intestines! I'm wondering if I had "empachado"? It means food is stuck in the intestines? Anyway I feel great having that awful pain gone. It worked for me anyway. I believe something was stuck in my intestines. The natural grapefruit juice got rid of it!

Chia Seeds

Hydrated chia seeds for joint pain: Taking 3 or 4 tablespoons of hydrated chia seed gel every morning has greatly reduced my joint pain. I buy black or white seeds - either one works equally well, and put 2 tablespoons of the seeds in two cups of filtered water. Stir them up a couple times and then again after several hours. There may be clumps on the bottom, stirring with a fork breaks them up. I keep the seeds and water in a sealed container in the fridge

Chia holds 10 times its weight in water and when hydrated creates a gel. It has almost no taste and can be mixed with just about anything, I put it in my morning juice. Chia has the highest amount of Omega-3 of any plant source!

Turmeric is an age old remedy for a number of conditions, especially for joints, ligaments and skin. One tablesp. divided twice a day with a teasp. of simple whey powder and half a cup of water in the blender will be a balanced dosage for long term usage. It is beneficial for lung and heart, a blood thinner and natural antibiotic.
