I have never suffer from hemorrhoids, I started with itching and then I started to notice a bump about a size of a pea. I immediately started searching for remedies and things to do to make them go away. I tried the tea tree oil it helped but did not make it smaller or better. I tried using a glove of garlic as suppository but did not work either. So I came across this website and read most of the comments here, I know some things work for some people and some don't. But I was on a mission to make these hemorrhoid go away because they are so uncomfortable. Yesterday I went to the store and bought a bottle of vitamin B6 at walmart and the Rutin I couldn't find it at walmart but thankfully a local organic store had it. I took one of each about 4 pm and before I went to bed I took another Rutin. In the morning I noticed that the hemorrhoid shrunk more than half. I then took the Rutin and B6 this morning before work and when I got home the hemorrhoid is almost gone :):):) (this means I am very happy) and I feel great! So thank you for all of you who share these remedies to other people. I will continue to take these for a few weeks.

For Hemorrhoids - Use 1 part peppermint oil with 3 parts of coconut oil and apply to the area. That has always helped me in healing hemorrhoids in a night.

Wow, I now understand the term "pain in the rear"! I had developed a severe thrombosed hemorrhoid 2 years ago. I did pop after awhile and then the year of oozing happened and pain and swelling went down (I would say down 70% on both aspects). Now on year 2 and the fill up of the hemorrhoid happened again. The pain came back, twice as bad. I started buying everything hemorrhoid related again, that I didn't try the 1st time. After a month of irritation and nothing to seem to work on them, I decided to try ACV. At 1st I felt it worked, with just a few moments of sting and then gone. After 3-4 days of this, the stinging started when I applied it and then got worse, so I stopped after a week of pain. I then tried hemorrhoid ointments again. Wow, the pain they brought on was too unbearable. Surgery is not an option, as I know 2 people who had multiple surgery for the same thing and both cases, came back again, so both people told me not to do it, unless you literally can not walk or sit (at all). I do take Rutin (2weeks now, but no help). Yesterday I read about aloe and thought, right, just like everything else, its a gimmick. I felt, why not try, what can it hurt (lol - after irritating it with everything else, specially prep-h), so I went to healthfood store and bought 99%pure aloe gel and 100% safe drinking aloe. I got home and rubbed the gel on the hemorrhoid for the 1st time. I filled the bathtub up, just in case I need a quick rinse to get it off. As I sat and wait for the burn of the century, I wait and wait and wait. Still no burn, actually some relief. I was sitting with amazement. I am now on day two. The pain is 80% gone when I apply. I am waiting to see if aloe helps shrink it. I rub aloe all over the area daily and drink 2 oz of the drink twice a day. If it goes down or improves greatly, I will be amazed. I live in Co and wondered if the cold winter didn't help and made it flare up again. So far I am amazed with what aloe has done. Anything on the market that says hemrroid relief, is a gimmick. Only Witch Hazel and sitz bath, give temp. relief. I do not want temp. relief, I want pure relief. If surgery would work, with no recurrence, then I would take the painful recovery and do it, but that is not the case of most who get it done.

I had 2 large hemoroids. I inserted garlic at bedtime the first night and didn't notice any improvement. The second night I soaked a cotton ball in ACV and kept that applied to the area while sleeping. It relieved the itching but didn't reduce the size. The third day I tried Arnica Gel. Its a gel I had purchased after facial surgery to reduce pain, swelling and bruising. I have been applying that externally 3 times a day for the last 2 days, one hemoroid is completely gone and the other is almost gone. The active ingredient in the gel is 7% Arnica Montana. There is also an Arnica Montana supplement I took for my facial surgery to reduce swelling and bruising. I havent tried that for hemoroids, just mentioning it since its available in more forms than just topical.

Hi Mary- to anyone who still has the Hems use this product that Mary mentioned it is called "Fargolin" it is a Chinese Herb. I thought what else did I have to loose I was reading all the comments and trying everything, and when I say everything I was.

The pain became so unbearable – I ordered it and it came the next day, I was a little uncomfortable and nervous but I was like what the hell – within a few min I can honestly say it eased the pressure and pain that I was feeling and the thing was I only used ONE, where as they tell you to take up to FOUR, I did not feel any after effects so I started taking TWO in the morning and TWO at night. So if anybody is down to their wit's end, try this. Oh I forgot the cream did not come yet, but I can see and feel the difference.

Hi there, I was suffering from an external pile last week. The pain was so bad I couldn't walk properly and I had to pretend that my back was sore. What I did was I mixed 4mls if frankincense oil and 4mls of Myrrh Essential oil into 300grs of raw unfiltered extra virgin coconut oil. I would soak some soft tissue in the mixture and sit it between my bum cheeks. Within 15 minutes of my first application the pain was almost non existent. I couldn't believe it. I did this twice a day for a week and now I'm cured. I'm sure if one had bleeding and internal piles, using a enema and throwing a bit of cayenne pepper on your food would do wonders. Hope this helps all.

I really enjoy EC & have used many of the remedies it contains. A few weeks ago I had a rare bout of constipation. When I finally did have a movement, it felt like I was passing broken glass. It took considerable effort (and tears) , but I was finally successful.

The problem is that now I have a bleeding hemorrhoid since that day. I am starting my 4th week of trying almost all of the remedies on this site for this ailment with no success or relief. It has gotten so bad the past 3 days that I can't sleep. Even OTC pain relievers have no effect on the pain. I have taken B6 & Rutin for 2 weeks; no effect. Last night, 6/28/10 I became desperate & took my bottle of tea tree oil & applied several drops to my finger tip & gently messaged it into the hemorrhoid & surrounding area. At first I felt nothing. In about 3 minutes I felt a warming sensation & possibly a little less pain.

I began watching TV & about ten minutes later I realized that I was actually sitting on the couch & I didn't have any pain. I was able to sleep from midnight to 10am this morning. When I arose from bed, no pain. About an hour later I had another BM. I wish I could say it was pain free, but it was NOT! This time I only had a slight trace of Blood. After I cleaned up I reapplied the tea tree oil & had to wait about 10 minutes & the pain subsided. In fact I went out & cut the grass! As I am writing this I am sitting on a regular chair without the dough nut!

I don't know if the tea tree oil will cure my hemorrhoid or not, but it made it much more bearable & I was able to sleep. Tea tree oil is a fantastic product that I have used for years on cuts & scrapes, hot spots on my dogs etc. It is fungicidal, antiseptic & a germicide. It can be purchased from almost any drug store, vitamin/health food store & many on-line vitamin sites. I got mine from swansonvitamins.com.

I know your pain my brothers & sisters.

I have suffered from hemorrhoids for years. Even had the laser treatment. They no longer bled, but still came back at times. I had a particularly bad one a few weeks ago. I tried may cures on this site including ACV, Listerine, and tea tree oil. Nothing helped, and the Listerine HURT! I had read that Horse Chestnut was good for varicose veins so I thought I would try it for the hemorrhoid. I could feel it working within an hour of taking it. I continued to take it morning and night. The hemorrhoid was gone in a matter of days. I now take it daily as a preventative.

When I had my first child I had a terrible case of hemmoroids. I was told to apply Vicks Vapor Rub to them by a nurse's aid.(Yes..an aid! She said her grandmother told her about this) Anyhow, when I was discharged I went home and tried it. The cooling effect of the menthol cured the itching and after about a week they actually did shrink and go away!

I started asking about hemorrhoid remedies while pregnant with my fifth child. During the previous pregnancy (and especially after deliver) I had horrible, painful hemorrhoids.

A friend suggested the following:
1 small (2oz.) tube of KY jelly, squeezed into another container - mix in 5 drops of cypress essential oil and 15 drops of geranium cypress oil and mix very well. Apply liberally as needed.

I'll say that it does "tingle" but I wouldn't go so far as to say it burns. It provides almost instant relief and my hemorrhoids have remained very mild this time around!

Oh - one other thing that did work great for me was straight ICE PACKS - nothing else. But not as convenient as the essential oil mixture!

I have not yet tried garlic suppositories for my hemorroids but I got also good results by drinking prunes juice SunSweet from tesco ( little bit costy ) 3 boxes ( 1L each) / week. Prunes are rich in Fibres make your stool very soft and allow easy toilet and ease to pressure on veins and arteries in your anus.

After reading through the comments, I would just like to add something. Yes, I have found that garlic cloves inserted anally is the most effective remedy. I've had this embarrassing problem since I had babies in the 1970's. Initially, it was an external problem then became internal. I would wake up at night in excruciating pain and have to walk around and take pain killers until I got some sort of relief. Finally, around 10 years ago I found out about garlic (an Ayurvedic solution) and have used it ever since. Recently I noticed some new bleeding with every bowel movement and thankfully, have started the strict garlic insertion again. Seems to be working. BUT I wanted to know why this time, the bleeding was increasing. Then I suddenly realized that I have been sitting way too much (I am 76 and spend many days seated, doing art work.) Now, I force myself to stay on my feet for much more time each day and I think this is helping as well. So, I believe that staying active is VERY important--we were never meant to sit for hours at a time! I hope this is helpful to some of you!

Eucalyptus Honey

Eucalyptus Honey for Hemorrhoids

OK, so my treatment is actually quite mixed, but I'll try to highlight all the important points before I describe what happened (spoiler alert: it's a bloody miracle). So, here is my current treatement:

- Apply Eucalyptis Honey directly on the Roid whenever possible, and especially after bowel movements

(if it's external, like mine were, then its as easy as applying cream, if it's internal, get it in somehow if you can, or just eat it)

- Mix honey with ACV every now and then, and apply EUCALYPTUS HONEY + ACV mix

- You may add castor oil, garlic (oil or raw juices), for more bazang.

- Continue until it's gone

Now for my full story:

Table Salt

I don't know where they came from, but one did. It was huge, on the top right side of the inside of my but, just outside and coming from within the anus. The pain was horrible, so I immediately thought "dirty place, diseased-type skin... put salt on it to calm it down". I did just that, and the pain was excruciating, but the overall pain of the Roid died down with it.

ACV

I applied ACV with the salt, to get a deflating, disinfecting effect going on. It worked, but I ran out of ACV, so I put salt again and it grew back in size. So, I went and got ACV and followed a lady on here who said rise out baby wipes, soak in ACV and put it up there, leaving it over night. It worked wonderfully for a while, but then my skin condition started to deteriorate, making the Roids worse, and then suddenly another bigger, worse Roid showed up at the bottom. I thought if this cure don't work, it's surgery for me.

Eucalyptus honey

So I cam across this scientifically proven olive oil + honey + beeswax mix. I couldn't get my hands on beeswax (because to be honest I'm new and didn't even know beeswax was consumable! ). So, I bought eucalyptus honey, knowing its antibiotic nature, and just put it straight on. IMMEDIATELY, just like the ACV the first time, the pain, itchiness, uncomfortableness, all of it, was gone. The size still remained.

1+1=2

So, eucalyptus honey makes all the bad go away and looks after skin, in fact improving it, and ACV does the opposite, which is destroy all that is in its path. Therefore, I can destroy the bugger without any damage, all with no pain or weird remedy, just mix it in a cup, put my finger in it, and put it on top (after washing that area properly, which is what you should do after every bowel movement. You don't wipe plates clean without washing, don't do the same to your butt).

Extra - sitting

I also ensured to change my sitting habits and ensure I'm not sitting in a way that could put bad pressure on them.

Final remarks and current results:

I can feel the little skin sticking out a bit, because they are veins going up that way after all, but everyday it reduces in size. It went from a grape size and blocking even my passing of gas, to barely the size of a pea. It should be gone by the weekend. I'll let you know if it is.

Stone Root Extract (Collinsonia)

My go-to for the occasional hemorrhoids (once every 10 years or so) is Stone Root extract herbal tincture. At about 23 years old I became vegetarian. I am an avid athlete weight lifter and sadly I immediately lost over 50 lbs of lean hard muscle (and most of my strength too). Then while bearing down as I was trying to bench press (my previous warmup weight), I felt a burning pain in my butt. Doctor diagnosed hemorrhoids...with zero family history of this I was shocked. Doctor said "Welcome to it, it is very common with weight lifters."

I was only 160 lbs at that point having lost from my 210ish normal weight. I tried medications (all of them) and nothing worked. So I went to the health food store and asked the lady on the vitamin aisle. She smiled and said "Oh, yes, I have just the thing for you! Collinsonia, also called Stone root." I took a dropper full in the store and by bedtime 3 hours later I was "burning-itching-stabbing pain" free.

The next day I could pass stool without pain or blood. I kept getting them every month or so and kept taking stone root each time. Then I started eating meat again and they didn't come back for over 10 years of weight lifting and heavy lifting at work. Took stone root and gone.

Then in my early 40s, I got some that didn't go away with stone root alone (a different brand?), I had to drink fresh carrot and spinach juice 2 times a day for 3 days and GONE were the painful bleeding hemorrhoids. So, heavy lifting only causes them if you bear down deep. I learned to breathe and lift without ever doing that in the gym or on the toilet too...bearing down is foolish and dangerous.

Hope this helps some of you out there and many thanks to EC for all you do.

Vicks

I just had the biggest hemorrhoid ever. I couldn't close my legs or walk or sit or lay down or stand, or even wear underwear and tighter pants. It was the size of a peach pit and protruded out from my cheeks. I wanted to scream. I desperately tried ACV, sitz baths, castor oil, iodine, aloe. The castor oil soothed it a little, but didn't reduce the size of this raging behemoth. ACV didn't do anything and diluted iodine just burned. Aloe went inside my hole by accident and really stung inside all night long. The sitz baths felt good while doing them, but when I dried off, it was back to normal for ol rhoidy. Vicks is the only thing that has soothed it within a minute of application, and decreased the size by half overnight. I was able to walk, sit, and wear underwear again! In three days it went from the size of a peach pit to a small peanut. I could cry; I am so appreciative.

NOTE: I originally had a can of knock-off Vicks from Amazon (bought a while ago) that did not work at all. Why? It did not have turpentine. Turpentine is the key ingredient. I found that out from my sister and immediately went to the store and bought Vicks, and that was the key. A lot of store brands comparable to Vicks do have turpentine, but you have to check those ingredients!
