I take 40 MG of pantoprazole daily for GERD; and though it helps, I am wondering if it could be contributing to gout-like symptoms? Does anyone else report similar findings? The symptoms are: itching and burning sensations at the ends of my toes and arms. Sometimes a numbness in the legs. The sensations come on in the middle of the night and wake me to the point that I cannot get back to sleep. I thought that maybe too many carbs might be causing this, but now I am wondering. I am looking at a more alkaline diet to see if that might help. What do you think, could it be the meds? Thanks.
