Just did the egg whites. My temperature went up from 101.1 to 102!!! My head is clearer though. But don't know if the eggs had anything to do with it. Oh well!

Unfortunately the egg whites did not work in bringing down my husband's fever. He seemed a little cooler but fever came right back (1/2 an hour later). I soaked paper towel in egg whites and put on the bottom of his feet. I put large plastic gallon size bags around his feet to keep egg whites off blankets. I kept it there for 15 minutes-20 minutes. I think it is always safe to have some store bought fever reducer on hand.

egg whites for fever: I really wanted this one to work. My 2 year old son had a high fever so I used the egg whites on his feet, of course they were spilling around everywhere so I wrapped his feet with handkerchiefs. Then put socks over it He looked ridiculous and uncomfortable, it was messy and his fever kept going up. I tried it all day long, mostly his fever just stayed the same or went up. Didn't work for us.

Finally convinced my boyfriend to try this remedy after two days of an uncomfortable non-stop fever. OTC medicines are doing nothing to bring down the fever. Didn't work. In fact, his fever went up slightly. He'll probably never take my advice again! Oh well...it was worth a shot. Not everything works on everybody I guess.

Sorry to say that the egg white remedy didn't work for us. We tried for an hour but very little change. Didn't want to wait much longer at 104.1. Used Pedia Tylenol in the end. Glad it worked for others. Worth a try though. We soaked cloth in the egg white, wrapped around foot. Put food in plastic bag, then sock on. Anybody doing research on this? More information on how to apply it? Does it have to be cold egg whites out of the fridge. Maybe more description hints could help.

As a final resort to get my daughter's fever down from 105. I tried the egg whites. In less than 10 min her temp was down to 101.9. Within he hour her temp started to creep up so went back to Pediatric Motrin. This afternoon I'm doing the egg whites again. It only seems to work momentarily. At least I can say I tried. Thanks!

The egg whites did not work. Her feet were soaked in egg whites. My wife's temp was 100.5 when I found this site. 20 minutes later after applying the egg whites correctly it was 101.8 an hour later 102.8. I took the egg whites off her feet and used very hot towels on her feet and forehead. As of now 3 hours later it dropped for the first time to 101.5 I will see if the hot towles work. Egg whites seemed to raise the temp.

Egg Whites Well I tried that for my three year old when she had a fever.... it didn't work??? Maybe there's a trick to it or something? She started crying because the egg whites were cold on her burning feet. I would really like to know how all of you handled that? Thanks!

My son had a fever for over 3 days. His temp reached up to 104, which we gave him Tylenol to bring it down. I was excited to try the egg whites hoping it would work. His temp was 102.3, after applying the egg whites with in 20 minutes it increase to 103.5. I'm not disappointed though..I believe in natural rememdies... :-)

I've had a 101-102 fever for the past couple days, so I tried the egg whites remedy in an effort to break my fever. It did not work for me, and in fact my temperature rose as I used this remedy.

I soaked paper towels in six egg whites, wrapped the towels around my feet, covered my feet with 1 gallon freezer bags, then finally put some socks on. After completing the egg white application, I sat down on my couch and took temperature readings every five minutes. Here is the chronology:

2:03 pm - completed egg white remedy
2:08pm 100.8
2:13pm 100.6
2:18pm 100.4
2:23pm 100.6
2:28pm 101.5
2:33pm 101.5
2:38pm 101.9
2:43pm 101.8
2:48pm 101.8
2:53pm 101.8
2:58pm 101.8
3:03pm 101.7
3:08pm 102.0
3:13pm 101.8
3:18pm 102.1
3:23pm 102.1
3:28pm 102.4
3:33pm 102.2
3:38pm 102.3
3:43pm 102.3
3:48pm 102.2

I gave up after the good end of two hours, washed my feet, and proceeded to sweat the fever out by putting on sweats and covering up with a couple down comforters. By 9:00pm yesterday evening I had my temperature back down to 99.0, this having nothing whatsoever to do with applying egg whites to the soles of my feet.

P.S. - It would help if you made this feedback texarea larger in size.

No Significant Improvement after 50 minutes. After treating my girlfriends illness for a few days with homemade chicken soup, she recovered, but now I have a 100.4 degree fever. I have been using cold compresses for 40 min. I stayed up all night and I figured it was time to find an online remedy. I cracked two eggs, yolk and white, into two separate plastic grocery bags and tied them around my feet; then putting on my socks at 8:23 AM I waited. Now it is 8:33 and my temperature is 100.4;no change. Moving my feet and toes should circulate the eggs and allow the cooler part of the egg to mix with the warmer parts and average out the temperature so the temperature of the egg actually touching my feet is lower. A greater differnece in temperature between the eggs and the feet will produce a faster temperature drop between the eggs and the feet. This should lower the fever more by drawing the heat away from the head reapidly. Now it is 8:43 AM and my temperature is 100.0. After 20 minutes my temperature dropped 0.4 degrees. My girlfriend is pushing at all sorts of typical remedies like placing a bag of frozen vegetables on my belly and taking a couple of aspirin. Now at 8:53 my temperature is 100.2. After 30 minutes my temperature is down 0.2 degrees. At 9:03 AM my temperature is 100.0 degrees. After forty minutes my temperature is down 0.4 degrees. At 9:13 my temperature is 100.2 degrees. There has been no significant change in my temperature.

I put egg whites on two face clothes and placed the egg white portion on the bottoms of my son's feet then covered with socks and a bath towel. There has been no change in his temperature in 45minutes. This did not work for us. Looking for another remedy,

I was desperate to try something natural, but our daughter is very sensitive and afraid so our usual remedies (garlic paste on feet, garlic oil rub on chest, frozen towel on neck treatment) weren't practical for her. It took me almost an hour to convince her to try it, we soaked white clothes in the egg whites, wrapped her feet and put on big socks over them. Then we waited an hour and absolutely nothing happened. I was afraid she would start getting more upset at that point and also that the fever would get higher than 104, so we stopped.

I tried the egg whites remedy on my 5 year old who's had his roller coaster fever (varies from 100-103F) for 5 days now. I drenched the egg whites onto paper towels and wrapped them on his feet and then added socks for about 30 minutes. Other than the fact that it was cold and slimy, it did nothing to lower his fever. I am glad I found this website though, as I then tried the apple cider vinegar method (remedy #3), and that one worked!!! I also gave him 1 teaspoon of it mixed with 1 tsp of honey. In less than 5 minutes, all the gunk that had made him congested came oozing out! It was the strangest thing to witness (not to mention a bit gross) but he was very happy that he could breathe through his nose again! We did it one more time and he was able to cough up and expel a lot of the stuff that was in him. Hopefully this will be the turning point and will get rid of the flu faster!! Thanks for this website!
