Update on progress of treating sebaceous cyst with tincture of iodine. This is the quickest turn around time for the cyst to shrink, open, drain and the skin to return to normal color and texture. I added bacitracin ointment once a day covered with dressing. Used hot soaks 2-3 times per day. I added Mary Ruth's iodine drops 2 drops by mouth per day and 3 drops of chlorine dioxide in one liter of water daily for 3 days. This worked for me.

Thank you, that is interesting. I have a small cyst in one nostril and another small one in the corner of upper eyelid. It doesn't bother me, and it is barely noticeable. Looking at all the remedies, there is nothing that would be suitable for the eye. I much prefer to improve diet, or address deficiencies, so this looks as though it's the ticket! I'm off grains, gluten sensitivity is a problem and sometimes cross reactivity with non gluten grains. Easier to go without, rather than have dermatitis outbreaks.

Kelp supplies iodine which someone above mentioned, could be caused by iodine deficiencies

I wonder about the lysine because that fights viruses and arginine fights infections. I am not an expert but just a thought.

Going on 6 months now GMO free only eat whole foods that are organic, my itching skin went away, I lost 25 lbs I feel 20 years younger, all the pesticides in our food is making us sick. I had back aches all the time with these 2 cyst in my lower back, back pain is gone and the cyst is way smaller, started on Diatomaceous Earth to see if it would help and so far I see that it is making my real thick and ugly toenails shrink back to normal. You need to get off white sugar and white flour they are fulled with pesticides only eat sugar cane sugar which is found mostly in organic foods. 80% of the food in the grocery store is poison to our body, but look for the Non gmo list on the internet and start getting your health back.

I have a sebacious cyst on my back and tried a crushed garlic clove on it but it stung and burned my skin (I have sensitive skin). I'm now using a turmeric paste which is slowly but surely flattening the cyst.

Tried Vicks Vapor Rub on all 6 cysts for a week. Nothing happened. Oh, it's never worked for my congestion either.

Iodine

Sebaceous cyst - my Tibetan Terrier has many of these - 2 in particular are size of pea and small grape. The pea-sized one periodically comes to a head and with minimal pressure will squirt out lots of thick white stuff until it seems to be gone and then a bit of blood. Most recently when this happened, I read on EC to give turmeric twice a day (he's 25 pounds so I did 1/4 tsp 2xd) and many were seeing very good results. Well, I gave it for 10 days and though the area did seem flatter overall and it wasn't infected at all, now it is beginning to fill again. This has been going on for 7-10 years. Both of these are in areas on his back and back of neck that he cannot get to. Thank God. One on his outer thigh that he messed around with required emergency surgery last summer. I'm wondering if it would be ok to put lugol's 5% on topically? Any thoughts here? Art? Thank you and God bless you all!

Lugol's Iodine
Posted by Colin (Staffs) on 01/23/2023

I have been reading with interest about Lugols Iodine 7.5mg iodine +11.25mg potassium for Cysts.

My question is can I use White iodine 17.85mg iodine per drop with the same results?

Both are 15% max strength?

Garlic

Hi there, I tried garlic crushed over a little cyst in my cheekbone, as it was suggested here. I placed it with a gauze as a paste and on top of the cyst. It started burning a lot by I kept it overnight and slept with it. I woke up in the morning and it left me a terrible burn mark that was dark and somehow purplish. The cyst was a little flatter but I am left with this mark🙁 do you have any suggestion what to do for the mark and burning sensation also continues the day after. Please help. I do not want a scar or a mark forever. It is on my face under the eye 🙁

Keratosis Cyst
Posted by Rezaul (Bangladesh) on 03/26/2015

In June 2012, a local Maxillofacial Surgeon discovered that (based on Biopsy report) my right Mandible is affected with Keratosis Cyst and at least 1 and half inch area of the mandible is almost damaged. One of the senior Surgeon of Bangladesh wanted to remove the entire mandible and replace the last bone of Thoracic cage over there. But my general physician asked me to avoid this type of surgery in Bangladesh. He said, our doctors are not fully capable to do this. And, since it was not cancerous, he opined that no need to remove the entire mandible.

However, another Surgeon (he is also Professor and Brigadier General) removed the affected part of the mandible following scraping method. Surgery procedure was done twice with 6 months interval to remove the affected part of the mandible. First time, duration of the surgery was 3 and half hours. Second time (newly grown bone with light cyst) was scrapped again and period of the surgery was 1 and half hour. After the second surgery I met with a very senior surgeon in Bangkok General Hospital, a renowned hospital in South and Southeast Asia. He said surgery was done well, but new Cyst may grow again in same area.

Recent CT scan revealed a black spot (shade is very light with small area) inside the newly grown bone. Doctor suggested me to wait more 2 months. After 2 months again I have to do CT scan. If the said black spot is increased and deeper, it would have been treated new cyst in same area.

In this context, is it possible to remove that black spot (soft tissue with or without CYST) from mandible following any natural way?

Urine

WARNING!

Someone here recommended using their own urine on a cyst on this forum. It may sound attractive to some of you because of its new-age/ayurvedic connotations but it really is non-nonsensical. Urine contains much bacteria and bacterial infection is on the the main complications with sebaceous cysts. You might as well smear it with garden compost!!

Whatever you do, don't put urine on a cyst.

Vitamin E
Posted by Orange (Orlando, Fl) on 10/30/2014

I have sebaceous cyst in groin area, right where the leg meets torso, right where the panties rub against the skin. Had one couple of years ago. Went to dermatologist, done biopsy, said it' s not dangerous, just the location of it so gross. It went away itself after I gave up undies that where aggrivating it. Now it cameback a slightly lower, it is infected at the moment and hurts sometimes. Recently it broke as result of underwear and a always pad rubbing it while shopping groceries.I read almost all posts, was happy to find about castor oil, but the article here says it cannot be used on broken skin. The cyst is broke recently, but drained a little, most of the puss is inside. I don't even try to sqeeze it as it is really painful. my question is: can vitamin E oil be applied on broken cyst? I also have one in my armpit. These two appeared almost at the same time. The one in armpit doesn't bother me much, it's almost gone by now. I used to apply eucaliptus essential oil, but not sure if it did help. But the one in groin bother me a lot as I can't wear panties, they rub just right at cyst which aggravates it great deal. Thinking to get boy style shorts type underwear now although I don' really like them. Another problem is it' s really hard to fix a band aid in that area when applying ointments. Luckily, I work from home, so I can wear something without underwear, but still have to go outside sometime... Found one article about bloodroot salve that seems to help a lot, but not sure if such strong remedy is required as the cyst is about the size Of pea. If anyone have any info, it will be appreciated.

Hi Lynn,

Where do you get the bloodroot paste? I'm dealing with a cyst on my neck that I believe is caused by some kind of parasites. Anyway, would appreciate the info. I'm in the US by the way and wonder where to buy this product. Do you think it would be safe to use on the front of the neck just under my left jawline where the parotid gland sits? Sounds like it has a weird process for working out what's in the cyst and dissolving it, but I'm willing to try.

Thank you, Robin

Thanks Gary. I have only used diatomaceous earth externally on the bedsheets when the nightmare of a problem emerged in 2021. Are scabies the same as mites? I'll have to locate the food grade type somewhere as the one I used before was from a hardware store or the like. Do you know of an online source or recommend a brand?

Oregano Oil

Please tel me more about this cyst and how you applied and used this method to cure it. I have a cyst lower middle back which is soft and spongy and tender - think it is full of fluid - but well beneath - and giving me pain elsewhere. Think it may be torval cyst. The doctors either operate on it , which is very tricky, or say they cannot help.
