Here is some info for preventing and/or healing COVID-19. I've also included my personal experience.

Recently Dr. Thomas Levy published an article on the ways that COVID-19 can be cured. Dr Levy states, "While still unknown to most practitioners of traditional, or "modern" medicine, acute viral syndromes, COVID-19 included, can all be easily prevented most of the time. And when such viruses do get a foothold in the body, they are still easily eradicated if the patient is not too close to death before receiving any of a large number of treatments established to be effective."

http://orthomolecular.org/resources/omns/v16n37.shtml

In the above article, Dr Levy does not emphasize the importance of Liposomal Vitamin C. But in a previous article he states, "Liposomal Vitamin C is one of the keys to boosting the immune system and curing diseases." He then relates his personal experience of knocking out a bad case of the flu in about an hour by taking 5 or 6 grams of liposomal Vitamin C. He states, "liposomal Vitamin C rapidly supercharges the immune system cells. Liposome-encapsulated vitamin C, properly-dosed, can be enormously effective in acute viral and bacterial infections."

https://www.peakenergy.com/articles/nh20140411/Exposing-the-truth-about-liposomal-nutrients/

This is my personal experience:

I had stumbled across Dr. Thomas Levy's website at PeakEnergy.com and had read most of his articles. And because of that info I had started taking Liposomal Vitamin C every day to boost my immune system and do some detox.

Last month, I had met with a friend and 2 days later he told me that he had tested positive for COVID-19. Five days later I came down with a virus, presumably the Coronavirus. I didn't go out that night to get tested. When I felt it coming on I took about 3,000 to 3,500mg of liposomal Vitamin C. I later wished I had taken about 2,000 mg more initially.

I also took a dose of Oscillococcinum (a homeopathic remedy that I had used previously to knock out the flu), Andrographis (an herbal anti-viral recommended by Shane Ellison (aka The People's Chemist)), Ionic Zinc, Magnesium, Quercetin, etc. (Zinc plays a crucial role in the function of essentially all immune cells.

Dr. Levy states that "magnesium is required in more than 300 different enzymatic reactions. Basically, adequate magnesium levels, within the body, will decrease the chance of dying from anything."

Quercetin is reported to be effective against SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19 disease as it binds to the spike protein of SARS-CoV (the virus responsible for severe acute respiratory syndrome or SARS), thereby inhibiting its ability to infect host cells.)

An hour after the first dose, I took about 2,500 mg of liposomal vitamin C. I kept taking about 1,500 to 2,500 mg of Liposomal Vitamin C and other products every hour to 2 hours.

If you take too much Vitamin C the body will remove it in about 10 minutes with a bowel movement. I would wait an hour or so then take some more. I also took a second dose of Oscillococcinum.

Because I had all of those products on hand, I was able to knock out the virus in less than 18 hours. I was feeling OK, just tired. I kept on taking liposomal vitamin C at a higher rate for 4 or 5 days. Since I did not get tested I can't prove that it was COVID-19 rather than the flu, but I do know that I dodged a bullet by using Dr. Levy's recommendations.

I am an allopathic physician with an open mind and a holistic approach to my patients. I detest the current censorship on YouTube and the social media about vitamin C and vitamin D.

I developed chest aches, body aches, low grade fever, cough, sore throat a few days after attending a large music festival in March. I increased my vitamin C from my usual 1000 mg a day to 7000 mg every 8 hours (backing off to 6000 mg three times a day when loose stools developed). I increased my vitamin D from the usual 2000 IU daily to 5000 IU twice a day. I used zinc-elderberry gummies several times a day. My symptoms largely cleared in 4 days, and completely in abut a week.

Did I have Covid-19? I didn't qualify for PCR testing. I am awaiting development of an antibody test with a low false positive rate to confirm, but I'm pretty sure I did.

Main messages:

1. Short term oral use of 20 gm of vitamin C a day is harmless, and even if it fails ever to be proven effective in randomized prospective tests, it should still be used in such a dire situation as has been caused by this pandemic. There is nothing to loose. In fact the academic docs don't have the guts to set up a study with such a dose of vitamin C. It would be called dangerous by the various review boards who have to approve studies, because of their ignorance, so it simply will never be part of “evidence based medicine,” as currently defined.

2. There are at least 3 studies now that look at the vitamin D metabolite (25OHD) level at presentation with Covid-19 (all patients confirmed diagnosis). Those with an adequate level (over 30 ng/mL) were over 90% certain to have mild disease. Those below 20 ng/mL generally required ICU admission or intubation. There are two possible explanations: A. Vitamin D is protective, or B. Having moderate or severe Covid-19 quickly lowers the blood level of 25OHD (for which we have no data at the moment).

See Robert Heaney's YouTube lecture on optimal vitamin D dosing:

• Toxicity with vitamin D requires doses of 20,000 IU daily or more.
• A dose of 10,000 IU will give you the level that life guards carry around at the end of a summer of patrolling the beach.

When you encounter the virus, it is important already to have adequate D nutrition, so that the immune system is ready to go.

I may be crazy but here goes! For both covid and related vaccines Just an idea/theory that popped into my mind. Maybe with all the bleeding and bruising, we may need extra Vit C and bioflavonoids. Wondering if something is using up a lot of Vit C like trying to detox (causing a type of scurvy?) bleeding that then clots to try and stop the bleeding damage?

What do you think?

Covid-19 treatment:

Take 2,000mg Vit C every hour for 12 consecutive hours, for 5 days, also take Vit D3 5,000mg. Vit C, is completely safe at any dosage, however once you have Diarrhea then that is your personal max. Do not use “Time Release” or “Sustained” Vit C. This formula came out approx., 2 yrs ago by Dr Andrew Saul, now Editor of Orthomolecular Medicine. Dr Saul has worked with some of the greats, including Abrams Hoffer, MD.

My wife, started with sore throat, headache, coughing, sneezing and shortness of breath. I was already taking 500 vit C, 500 Vitamin D, CoQ10 100, Mag 250 & fish oil 1,300.

So I researched Corona virus 24/7 — what it is & the damage it does to Lungs, Heart & Cardiovascular. I found it to be SARS/HIV that causes Covid -19 the disease, triggers a massive immune response, cytokine storm, endothelial dysfunction that kills. Not all, but some.

I gave my wife 6,000 Vitamin C 3x day and 2000 Vitamin D, 500 Mag& and 25 Zinc 1x day.

Within 3 days all symptoms gone.

I boosted my Vitamin C to 6,000. My Energy level went Way UP. But then my wife stopped C & all Vitamins.
BOOM 2 days later, she couldn't breath and went to the Emergency Room. 3.0L Oxygen, put on Steroids and Anti-biotic for 5 days.

I also secretly gave her 6,000 C 3x day(,2000D, 500Mag&25 Zinc 1x day) while in Hospital.

Guess what, diagonosis was Viral Pneumonia, COPD, CHF, Edema in Lungs & Legs.

At the end of 5 days, she improved so much that she was sent home on Oxygen. Seeing pulmonologist, said mild asthma now, Lungs clear, Edema Gone. Wife was a smoker prior to sickness.

Linus Pauling was right about C healing the Cardiovascular System. Dr.Paul Marik was also right about (HAT) Hydrocortisone, Vitamin C, & Thiamine Sepsis, Septic Shock, ARDS.

Dr. Andrew G. Weber, a pulmonologist in NY post article using IVC on Corona Virus Patients, in NY Hospitals, based on reports that its helped people in China by Dr Cheng, Orthomolecular. Org also right on importance of taking Vitamin D high dose.

Lastly, you can always take a steroid & hydroxychloroquine, but it might cause Heart & Eyesight problems, with some.

Just like to share, .. a teaspoon of Acerola Cherry powder 4x per day for a week helped me to recover from the corona virus. I also juiced lots of citrus, but the exceptional amount of vitamin C in each serving of Acerola Cherry powder really got me on the mend, helped to ease the respiratory issues, and got me feeling better. Can't recommend an organic Acerola Cherry powder enough!

This is total nonsense and you're falling for the Big Pharma disinformation campaign. Linus Pauling received not 1 but 2 Nobel Prizes and did all the original work on Vitamin C. Other doctors used vitamin C IV's with high doses up to 100,000 mg per day to successfully cure polio (Dr. Klenner). Vitamin C has a very long and successful track record with zero fatality cases.

So, please, don't just regurgitate MSM propaganda for Big Pharma and their profits.

3 members of our family (age 54, 50 and 15) have had coronavirus and 1 (age 20) still has it. Here is how we ensured a speedy recovery and very mild symptoms.

Using Dr Richard Cheng's advice for taking 2-3g Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) every 2-3 hours orally. Dr Richard Cheng is a frontline medic who treated patients with coronavirus in Shanghai. He says most patients recovered in 2 days. Our experience was similar.

The protocol:

Dissolve 10g powdered ascorbic acid (ideally non-GMO) into a 500 ml water bottle. Take 25 ml every 15 minutes or 50 ml every 30 minutes. 50ml is a couple of swigs but for children you need to measure it out – we used a small measuring cup. To ensure the dose was taken at the right time, we used a timer (on a phone or kitchen timer). When the bottle is empty, refill and keep taking all the time you are awake.

Using this method, I found that my difficult breathing became easy after just 1 hour (3 doses). My daughter went from being in bed, no energy, sore throat not wanting to eat anything, to out of bed, hungry and no more sore throat in 1 day.

You have to keep taking at this dose until your symptoms have gone or it will come back (as I discovered).

The advantage of taking Vitamin C this way is that you can achieve high levels without over-saturating the gut and causing bloating or diarrhoea. It worked amazingly well for us and we'll follow this protocol now for any other viruses.

There are two things I've researched for COVID 19….my thought was that either one would handle it. Turns out I was right.

1. High dose, intravenous vitamin C treatment.

2. Ozone intravenous therapy. Both are being put into play against Corona.

In fact, the Chinese government has a test program they're trying on 24,000 infected, using intravenous vitamin C. They're looking for the fastest way to handle the disease so they can get it under control. The C treatment can be done by a naturopath in a clinic. You sit in a chair for a couple of hours and download the solution from the IV bag right into your vein. It's easy. Lots of clinics provide the treatment, search one in your town. The best solution is a food based vitamin C instead of synthetic ascorbic acid, but I believe the FDA has routed out all food based C in this country.

The ozone therapy works similarly. They take some blood out of you and then infuse it with ozone (it's oxygen, but with an added molecule), then shoot the concoction back into you. You can have that done 1-10 times in a day. The ozone travels through your system cleansing everything in its path. The third molecule in ozone makes the O3 unstable which is hence attracted to viruses and pathogens since they are unstable too. It finds the COVID19 and jumps onto it, rendering it ineffective. This process has been used since the 1800's and is standard practice in Germany and other parts of Europe.

They use it to cure cancer as a natural method. It's not widely known over here because, well, you know Big Pharma. They don't want to actually *cure* you. Here are a couple of links for further reading.

Hello M.

We use non-GMO powdered ascorbic acid (which is technically not vitamin C since vitamin C is a complex, including bioflavanoids, rutin) but ascorbic acid works very well. If you want to take Vitamin C in the long term, then use a natural source such as acerola, which gives you the entire complex, since ascorbic acid can create imbalances in the body when only part of the complex is taken over an extended period of time. However, taking 3g a day ascorbic acid over a couple of months as a preventative or 20g a day for a couple of weeks on high dose as a cure, it's absolutely fine (in our experience).

My understanding is that ascorbic acid in high doses is not ideal if you have a weak kidney function.

This fear has surfaced because people have been led to believe they are powerless to stop Coronavirus and that it is a lottery of who lives and who dies. That is utter rubbish! I'm very happy to report that some surprising medical news is suddenly breaking like an unstoppable Tsunami tidal wave and is pouring in from many different international media sources. It is now very apparent that China has been successfully using large dose Vitamin C – by IV and orally — to successfully treat all cases of COVID-19. China has been quietly using and researching the high dose Vitamin C therapy since early February 2020. Notably, no major news outlets in the US or Western media or TV news are reporting this amazing news. China has also loudly announced via her own research and her own media outlets that high dose Vitamin C treatment is now recommended as the standard treatment for all cases of COVID-19 viral infections. Wow!

For more on this, here are some interesting links on the effectiveness of Vitamin C used for COVID-19 infections:

Vitamin C

I got symptoms of Covid( though I was unable to get tested). Hydrogen Peroxide nebulization, turmeric, zinc, Azithromycin didn't help.

Hydrochloroquine caused chest pain ( I have arrythmia)

In the end only Vitamin C flush ( I followed instructions here : https://www.fxmedicine.com.au/blog-post/naturopathic-vitamin-c-flush ) cured me.

I'm still tired after small exertions and have a persistent cough ( I get this after the flu, the post viral cough) but am otherwise symptom free.

Apart from Vitamin C, drinking only hot fluids ( as hot as you can bear it), nasal/throat sprays, and potassium rich foods also help recover much sooner.

My symptoms were:

– chest tightness /breathing difficulty
-chest pain
-Racing heart
– cough
-cold
-itchy throat, nose
– loss of smell

among others.

It is true that no results have been officially published from the Wuhun IV VitC trials. However one of the lead doctors on this study, Dr Mao, whose credentials are given in the article linked below, presented at a video conference with medical doctors, healthcare providers and scientists from several countries on March 17. Dr. Mao stated that not one of the patients in the study treated with this therapy died, ; even in severe cases, all improved. I do not agree that Vit C treatment has been debunked. There is ample scientifc evidence that Vit C slows viral replication, oxidizes free radicals that lead to inflammation and celluar damage, etc, etc. Source for Dr. Mao below.

Dr. Mao stated that his group treated ~50 cases of moderate to severe cases of Covid-19 infection with high dose IVC. The IVC dosing was in the range of 10,000 mg – 20,000 mg a day for 7-10 days, with 10,000 mg for moderate cases and 20,000 for more severe cases, determined by pulmonary status (mostly the oxygenation index) and coagulation status. All patients who received IVC improved and there was no mortality.

For my daughter she only needed it for 2 days and then she was better.

For me I followed the full protocol for 3 days, stopped taking as I felt better, but then by the evening the symptoms (difficulty with breathing) had returned so I started again and continued for one more day on the full protocol, then reduced to about 1/3 the rate for the next 3 days. Everyone is different so what worked for us won't necessarily work for you.

Dr Richard Cheng found that most patients recovered in 2 days but some needed it for 10 days. We had already been taking vitamin C (3g per day for adults, 1g per day for children) for about 2 weeks until we got Coronavirus, so this may have helped.

Dr. Mallette,

I appreciate your thorough breakdown and explanation of this subject (and your dapper last name; my great uncle spells his with an 'e' on the end too). I'm generally very skeptical about everything, and most comments I've read on this site are loosely (if it all) correlated anecdotes; repeating info from the same 3rd party, mentioning treatments that don't make sense or don't have an easily explainable link to their illness/treatment, etc.

My symptoms began this past Thursday, lost senses of smell and taste Friday, and finally went to the ER this morning (Sunday). They did an antibody test, the 1~ hour result test, and it came back negative. But the RN suggested I still treat it as if I'm positive, because I have ALL the symptoms, particularly the sudden loss of smell/taste. They prescribed prednisone, albuterol, and amoxicillin. The latter because I'm also developing an ear infection, likely from excess drainage, according to the doctor.

In your medical opinion, would it be safe to take high dosages of Vitamin C, D, and zinc, in conjunction with those prescriptions?

New Information Regarding Vitamin C Therapy

Large doses of vitamin C are being administered to patients in intensive care at certain hospitals in New York, Newsweek has confirmed with a spokesperson for Northwell Health. They confirmed reports that patients testing positive with COVID-19 were in some cases being treated with large doses of vitamin C—among other drugs—at their clinics. The antioxidant is being administered intravenously in quantities far exceeding the daily recommended dose, which is 90 milligrams for men and 75 milligrams for women as recommended by the National Institutes of Health.

The effectiveness of intravenous vitamin C as a treatment for—or buffer against—COVID-19 is not established with solid clinical evidence. Rumors spreading online about vitamin C's potential to treat the symptoms of coronavirus, or even prevent them from developing in the first place, have been debunked.

According to the Mayo Clinic, a certain amount of vitamin C is needed to perform various bodily functions, from forming blood vessels and other tissue to the absorption of iron. In high doses the antioxidant has the potential to cause adverse reactions, such as nausea, diarrhea and abdominal pain.

Researchers are looking at what benefit, if any, vitamin C might have on COVID-19 patients. Scientists at Zhongnan Hospital in Wuhan, China, have begun a clinical trial to determine just that, but no results have yet been published. The completion date is scheduled for the end of September, 2020, when they hope to have shown that vitamin C reduces the inflammatory effects of the disease in the lung.

https://www.newsweek.com/new-york-hospitals-vitamin-c-coronavirus-patients-1494407

Please be careful about dosages for any macronutrient, vitamin, mineral or supplement. Eg. for the average adult, no more than 2,300 milligrams (mg) per day, the amount in about a teaspoon of ordinary iodized table salt. Lower consumption — no more than 1,500 mg per day, about two-thirds of a teaspoon of salt — is recommended for middle-aged and older adults, African Americans, and people with high blood pressure. The American Heart Association recommends aiming for a dietary pattern that achieves 5% to 6% of calories from saturated fat (eg. coconut oil). For example, if you need about 2,000 calories a day, no more than 120 of them should come from saturated fat. That's about 13 grams of saturated fat per day.
