Khadija, no, I don't have pingueculas. I smear the honey on my closed lids. Leave it on for a few minutes, then wash off. If any got into the eye, it stings a bit, but no problem. Google "pingueculas honey".

Khadija, honestly I tried the honey for 3 months and no difference, I am yet to try the castor oil but maybe won't get the chance because what I have seen is most effective is the raw apple cider vinegar remedy, this thing had already grown on the pupil of my eyes and it is minimizing now, even my friend has been doing the apple cider and now its almost entirely reversed, Amazingly! Sometimes what may work for one person may not work for the other but give the apple cider a 3 - 4 months trial. By the grace of GOD, it will work out for you as well.

Since I have started taking my 5 years old daughters' vitamins (I believe kids supps contain less junk), mine has really reduced in size...it is barely visible now. I also drink a lot of water to keep my eyes and the rest of my body hydrated. I've also drastically minimized my intake of sugar and I don't cook with oil. I believe the vitamins help a lot! Any luck with the castor oil for Pterygium? Anyone kindly give us some outcome with using the Castor Oil? I was diagnosed with Pterygium this week, I have been searching online as there is not cure for Pterygium, only surgery wise.

I am heartbroken and had been in tears over this. I am only 30 years old female, my GP didn't tell me much about it and nothing to worry about until it effected my vision and just send me away. I am seeing another doctor next week and as I want another second opinion.

So I have been using the pure castor oil since yesterday, twice a day into my eye, worth a try and see for the next two weeks or so. If that doesn't work, I am going to try the Apple Cider Vinegar route. If that doesn't work, then I am going to think about having surgery before it's get too serious.

Anyone write any successes stories on here, I would love to hear from you. Anyone know any decent eye doctor in England? Anyone had surgery in England for Pterygium?

Hi. I'm in my 30's too and mine is progressively getting bigger.

The castor oil didn't make mine go away but does seem to make it lighter. I fully intend to try ACV. All the health professionals I have spoken to all say its tied up with the liver! And that it's an underlying issue. I thought my liver was fine although I do like to have a couple of drinks every day which is hard to give up.

The thought of surgery terrifies me! I will update if ACV works at all. I have also tried colloidal silver in the eyes to no avail :(

My Pterygium is growing, I had mine almost a year now. I am sure I am developing another one in my left eye. :(

Surgery is the only way to remove this ugly Pterygium, my ophthalmologist said he will remove it and seeing him soon to discuss surgery. I am worry about reoccurrence, it could come back.

I was diagnosed having Pterygium in both eyes in 1997, after prior years, eye specialists finally detected the condition. Surgery on my left eye failed, leaving the eye butchered and they say the eye (L) is, "Gone! " Pterygium is not my friend and I will never trust another surgeon to remove the blobs, because it only reoccurs! I will try the vinegar/H2O, but I trust only God to remove the blobs out of my eyes.

A friend who is a top Opthalmological Surgeon warned me never to have surgery for Pterygium. He said it would always come back and probably get worse. Apple Cider Vinegar is the way to go. Be patient! Rome wasn't built in a day.

Place diluted cotton pads soaked in the solution on the eyelids.
Squeeze a little so some leaks into the eye.
Do this before going to sleep.
Always wear wrap around quality sunglasses when you are out, even in winter, to protect from sun, wind and dust.

Hello, I also suffer from pinguecula. It has destroyed life. My family is broken by it. I also use ACV biologically. But I hope the same is that of America. Because there they use the Bragg brand with mother and we do not have that in Belgium. Hope works the same as ours. I also use castor oil. Both. For almost 2 weeks and see no difference. I will let you know.

In my case, I stop using it since I do not see any effect on it except I sleep deep and wake up refreshed. I just put a few drops in my finger and gently put it in my eyelid where the pterygium is. I'm very interested in the castor oil/coconut oil treatment for pterygium. I've had both eyes operated on to remove the growth, and another to remove scar tissue that has formed after surgery on my right eye. The right eye is constantly red and at times very irritated. Eye drops help somewhat but not for long. My left eye gets what feels like a nerve zinger every so often and it's not fun. I have scheduled yet another appt. For my opthamologist to check it out. I have had horrendous pain after both surgeries. Only until the 3rd surgery did I take painkillers which made a huge difference in my sanity and I was at least able to sleep. No body told me how much pain I'd have post- op. And when I complained they looked at me like I was from another planet. I always knew I was sensitive but that was ridiculous. Anyway, I'm now wondering if the oils ( castor and/or coconut) are able to help my scarred eye as well. Anybody have this problem or had surgery to remove the scar tissue? I'm a 57 yr old woman and I'm so tired of surgery. This has all taken place within the last 2 1/2 years, and it's killing my pocketbook and my nerves. I appreciate any help you might have.

I bought castor oil to stay this treatment but noticed the bottle says to keep away from eyes. Is there a particular type that is supposed to be applied to the eyes?

This has been asked before. The reason they put that warning on bottles is because they are required by the FDA if they haven't done testing. This warning circumvents that requirement so cheaper for them.

Castor oil on eye is harmless. I have tried it. You just get a greasy eye ball feeling. No stinging or anything. It will be a fun experience. Go for it.

About 3 yrs ago I had surgery for pterygium on my right eye. At that time the left eye was not as bad. Unfortunately during my follow- up visits( 2mos later) the Dr tells me that the pterygium had come back. I don't believe that for a second. My sister who lives in Louisiana heard of a doctor in Lake Charles who has been doing laser sugery on pterygium. I went ahead & had that surgery done on both eyes. It was not painful at at all. In fact it was a success. I've been told that this illness can always come back if you don't take care of your eyes. I'm definitely gonna give this a try. I also suffer from dry eyes. Ask for a pure Medicinal Castor Oil. Ideally I buy it from Ayurvedic Shops. I do not know about Pterygium, but does a lot of good to your eyes. Definitely. We have been using it in our family for generations.

I'm not sure how to spell it (pinqueclia) but I first got the yellow at 3:00 and 9:00 in my right eye.. then the left one too. 12 years ago. I live in the desert and was told there was nothing to do about it. My diet was poor (the SAD) but not anymore. I eat an anti-inflamatory diet, take omega -3 and have been putting roll on castor oil on my eyelids at night, once in a while for almost a year. I did this for sleep and for eyelash growth. Amazingly, the yellow spots are smaller and much lighter! Not sure 🤔 what really helped but I think it's everything. Clean food, rest, castor oil, spirituality, happiness... good luck out there.

Currently, I have a pterygium in both eyes and just started treatment using the Castor Oil treatment. What I do is dip a Q-tip into the bottle of castor oil and put 1-2 drops directly onto the pterygium. I don't know if it's just in my head or not (since I am so eager to get rid of them), but I am already starting to notice the castor oil going to work. In one eye, the pterygium is beginning to fade a bit. I will keep you updated on the prognosis. Good luck! :)

Is there any particular brand of castor oil & how do I go about the application? I used it & noticed a bit swelling of my eye lids. Really wish it works fine!

I have growths in both my eyes. I was told it was because I have dry eyes related to contact lens use and too much screen time. I started using castor oil (aura cacia organic for skin, bought at whole foods) for dry eyes. I have seen many positive changes since doing this. My dry eye issues are gone and my pinguecula have reduced and lightened. I also noticed that my eyelashes are much much longer. A plus I'm sure most women would love. I simply put a drop of the oil on my clean finger and apply directly to the pinguecula every night before bed. It stings a little.

I have only been doing this for about two weeks and am eager to see if the pinguecula will disappear.

Also, in case anyone is concerned, castor oil is considered safe for the eye by webMD for dry eye. In fact, it is an active ingredient in many eye drops and eye cosmetics. The only danger is if you are allergic, so use common sense. If it burns too much or you get red itchy eyes, please stop.

I would discontinue the use of castor oil and get 100 percent pure chamomile tea. If you cannot find it pure go to the herb isle and purchase it loose and boil it with distilled water or bottled water only over the stove not microwaved. Bring to a boil then switch to low leave it on low for 5-10 min. Strain it out into a cup or bowl you can drink what you don't use. Let it cool to room temperature if you have an eye dropper you can use it, if not you can use a piece of paper towel wet it in your tea and drop it in your eyes I would do this maybe 2x per day morning and before bed for just 2 to 3 days tops. Then see if there is an improvement. Chamomile is an anti inflamitory and has anticeptic properties. It cures pink eye in one day in adults and children and is safe to use for almost any pet. You can use the liquid on your entire face too. If this does nothing to improve your situation you should try a fruit cleanse and or clean your bowels with psyllium and activated charcoal and bentonite clay your eyes might be telling you there is a problem elsewhere. Drink distilled water get rid of soda and eat more berries. Fruit is the only natural detoxifying food!
