Natural Remedies for Basal Cell Carcinoma: Safe & Effective Options

BCC skin cancer removal: I had a multi-point BCC [Basil Cell Carcinoma] removed surgically from an area between my right eye and ear. A painful and nasty procedure with only local anestetic and skin graft leaving a circular scar about the size of a 50cent piece. I noticed that a part of the cancer may have been missed about 1yr later and my concerns grew after it hollowed out and expanded. I really didn't wish to have another op. so I tried a treatment that I was using for skin tags and moles. I placed about a table spoon of bi-carb soda into a small measuring cup and added a small amount of csstor oil BP to blend up to a fairly consistent paste, no lumps but firm enough so it wouldn't run when placed on my lesion. I covered this with fabric band-aids and replaced it before going to bed and in the morning. As these lesions tend to bleed and weep freely anyway it helped more so to have the band-aid coverings on not only to stop the bleeding and weeping running down my face but to also hold the paste on the lesion. Ugly and not fun for about 2 weeks then I realised the bleeding was slowing. After 3 weeks I removed the covering one day and noticed the affected area had flattened out and no more bleeding but the area below and around it was very red and sensitive as if the solution had been burning the skin. I allowed it to air for a day placing Hydrogen Peroxide all over the area. It scabbed up overnight and I continued to keep it covered for the next few days. The scab was trying to lift and I was a little concerned that all was in vain but once the scab came off it left a smooth almost completely healed spot. That was yesterday 4/07/08 and today even better. I slept on it last night without being covered and even showered today without concern and not a hint of problem thus far. I hope to leave a little more feedback over the next 2 weeks on progress and I sincerely hope this is of help to many others who have real concerns over BCC's.

Warning though, the compound stings a bit and the burning and redness of surrounds may be disconcerting but please try it for yourself. All the best to all with this ailment and I hope I have been helpful to you.

For around 2yrs I had a sore on my head that wouldn't heal, it was risen around the edge and depressed in the middle, kinda like a crater. I had a bad habit of picking it and assumed that was why it wouldn't heal so I decided to leave it alone and I put a paste of water and bicarbonate of soda on it at night for a few weeks and it cleared up in no time even although I would forget to put the bicarb on for days at a time.

A few months later a similar eruption appeared nearer the crown of my head and shortly after that another smaller one near it. This time I used 3% Hydrogen Peroxide as I could put it on throughout the day without the hassle of the caked bicarb in my hair. It felt like a needle being stabbed into my brain the first few times I done it, I got such a shock but it only lasted a minute or two and by the third of fourth application I didn't feel anything. Both sores cleared up within two weeks.

Now I couldn't see these sores on my head so don't know what they looked like, only what they felt like so last year when I noticed a small, raised, whiteish circle on my arm I didn't associate it with the things i'd felt on my head until recently when it started to pit/depress in the middle and felt just like them. This time I done a bit of research on skin problems that won't heal by themselves and as soon as I saw pictures and read about Basal Cell Carcinoma I am certain that is what these sores are. I will buy some Hydrogen Peroxide this week and do a follow up in a week or twos time.

I've read with great interest some of the remedies here. I've just had a punch biopsy by a local skin doctor the results of which gave the diagnosis of “Multifocal and Infiltrating Basal Cell Carcinoma.”

I went for a consultation with a local plastic surgeon and when he explained the recommended surgery, it was a real turnoff. He did say that sometimes the biopsy produced a cure and suggested waiting a few weeks. When I got home, I decided to research non-surgical treatments and cures and came up with your site. I was impressed by many of the results shared by people with a similar diagnosis or pathology.

I went out and bought some of the ingredients that were mentioned and seemed to be most effective, like: Raw Organic Apple Cider Vinegar, Milk Thistle, 3% Hydrogen Peroxide, Vitamin C Crystals, Iodine (what's different about the “tincture” type of Iodine and is that important in this sort of treatment?) and Colloidal Silver. Any good recipes, using these ingredients?

I have a couple of other questions for those who've experimented successfully with some of the above ingredients. It seems that some of the items mentioned have an acidic base, is that important? Therefore, I wondered if I the Vitamin C should be the acidic type or can it be buffered? Also, is there a difference between crystals and powder? And, has anyone tried altering treatments, like one recipe in the morning and another at night? And, finally, has anyone tried anything using probiotics successfully?

I look forward to hearing your answers to the above questions and any other ideas you might have.

How can I treat my husbands BCC on his lower eyelid? It's on the edge where the lashes are and a bit inside the lid. Are there some kind of drops that would help? He has had two Moh procedures on it already and not going again. He's had so many moh's procedures on his face and ear. He also has several on his back and chest.

Ok guys, now I need your help: anyone know a sure-fire way to remove a basal cell epithelium (less severe than a carcinoma) on the bridge of the nose between the eyes (an awkward place for a cover-up, hence very noticeable)? The doctors are ready to cut but an alternative method is always preferable.

Topical Vitamin C, Iodine, H2O2, Green Clay has already been tried with various results since September. Which one, or any other idea, should be continued?

Love this site...a tag between my breasts turned brown, became hard and it hurt if I bumped it. I put a tiny bit of Cansema on it and it burnt a little but bearable. The next day, I washed it off. Cansema, which is a bloodroot salve only starts its action if cancer is present...otherwise nothing. A few days later, three small craters opened up ABOVE the left breast and the original tag between the breasts disappeared completely. The craters oozed pus, there were little white dots around them, like tiny beads, and I was careful to keep them clean and covered. A painful dragging feeling in the left breast started, mainly at night but again not unbearable. I kept positive and asked inwardly for courage and help. After a few weeks, the holes started to close up. The scars were raised, soft and dark pink in colour. It took a year for them to stop feeling tender and fade to my skin colour. That was four years ago and no further action!

Nodula basal cell carcinoma

A dermatologist diagnosed my spot next to my nose (quite close to my eye). I decided not to see a surgeon but to try something natural. I googled Black salve and decided to give it a go. It's not available in shops but I managed to find someone who makes it locally.

I first used a buffpuff to roughen up the area on my nose and then applied the Black salve covered with a plaster. The spot was average size but raised. I covered more of my nose than just the spot. Within 24 hours it was bubbling yellow liquid out. I thought well this is good. When I removed the plaster the area was very sensitive. I didn't get a nice neat eschar like I had seen on someone elses post but instead when the yellow crust had been washed off gradually (when the area was not very sore anymore) I had quite a scar.

Well I thought, at least I got it all out.

Now around the scar I have a couple of tiny spots and a larger one on top area. Does this mean it's back? I don't want to use Black salve again in case my scar splits open. As a side note I also had a sore inside my nose slightly lower down from the original spot. This would gather mucous and it was sticky. I wonder if this is connected?

My main question is should I now do the Apple cider vinegar. What can I expect? Must I soak cotton on it or can I just dab?

I am female, 64, very fair skin, and confirmed basel cell carcinoma on bridge of nose just to the left side. However, it is really hard to detect anything by a casual glance.

My nose was never discolored as is the case with some people with bsa, but I can see that there is (and has been for some time) a darkness under the skin on the bridge of my nose. Other than a slight puffiness to my nose, I could get by without anyone even guessing there is a problem. But then again the dermatologist didn't recognize the true issue a year ago and sent me home. At that time however, I clearly saw the first suspicious "pimples" and the tiny sore that wouldn't heal.

But, the biopsy in August 2013, was indeed positive this year.

....went to 2 different dermatologists this past summer, the first one did the biopsy and wanted to do surgery. I opted out... stalled on that.
.... I heard about MOHS surgery and kept looking for an answer.
.... and the second dermatologist wanted me to use a cream called Aldara.
.... got Aldara at the pharmacy but decided not to use it because of the side effects mentioned regarding the immune system.
... started looking on the internet and found information by a Ph.d researcher (mentioned other places on this site), and the associated company who sells bloodroot products and enzymes.
... He was encouraging and said that by using the product, most bsc will fade and disappear without using any bloodroot paste.
... ordered the package "A" and titrated up with the recommended bloodroot, enzymes, and bloodroot/with/buffer capsules till I was at a fairly high dosage and starting to feel nauseous then backed up and lowered the amount after 2 weeks, but continued on
.... I didn't keep an exact record on the daily amount but I will say that I have taken the product for 2 months now, but at a low amount 5 of the 8 weeks.

Observations: I did decide that the capsule with buffer mixed with bloodroot bothers my system, so I cut that down to 1 capsule per day together with a HALF capsule of the full strength bloodroot. I also take 2 enzyme capsules per each meal. I intend to continue to do this every day until all the suspicious spots fade or if I get better advice. I feel a subtle nausea every day but it doesn't distract me badly from my regular activities. One big discovery was that if I take 2-3 teaspoons of fresh lemon juice at the beginning of a meal, eat half the meal, then take the capsules, then finish the meal... I have less nausea.

More observations: a dozen or more small reddish spots have flared redder at first, then altogether disappeared, or they are in process of disappearing around my face, that is; mainly my forehead, plus 3 above my upper lip. Also something that looked like a large pimple in the middle of my cheek for months, has shrunken and I'm hopeful it will dry up and disappear soon... (it's barely noticeable now).

The irregular, slightly raised shapes on my nose (by the way they never were discolored), have smoothed out.
However I have had a few temporary "pimple" shapes appear right around the biopsy area, only to recede again.

I have wondered if there is a deeper problem down in the tissue of my nose, perhaps in the cartilage or even my sinuses. I don't know. I wish I could know.

My nose seems a bit puffy... I don't see my full nose definition that I had 6 months ago... I suppose I get nervous and worry that the carcinoma is progressing despite my efforts, but then again I wonder if it's just that the bloodroot herb is attacking deeper problems and thus causing a reaction in the skin.

I have, on my own, experimented with the bloodroot.

On 3 different occasions I have wet my index finger with water, dipped it in the bloodroot powder and rubbed it on my nose. It seemed to absorb most of it. Then I rubbed on a little emu oil.
I left it on for about 1 hour and washed it off.
I then apply aloe vera gel... and then, finally apply a little emu oil which is very, very healing.
Later in the day here was a slight sensation for a while... almost aching... but that's all.

Does that seem crazy or a bad idea... or a good idea?

My nose aches at times but then it feels fine at times.
I don't know if that means I am healing or getting worse.
I don't know if I should keep applying the bloodroot externally the way I am, or, I wonder if I should just continue to take the capsules daily the way I am.... or stop.
I would like to know if anyone else has tried doing something like this, or what they think of it.
This is such a guessing game.

What does the hurting or aching of the nose indicate? What does 'tingling' indicate? What does puffiness indicate?.

I have used Black Salve/Bloodroot/Cancima on skin cancers for years with great success.

I made up my own salve from ingrediants available from wholesalers in Australia. The prepared product being too difficult and too expensive to get.

On some very old and deep lesions it is not a one off cure. You just have to be ever vigilant and apply to the spots as soon as you detect them. The biggest one covered nearly half my nose when I started. I removed it with 3 subsrquent applications. It still breaks out occasionally when I have been out in the sun with no protection, but if salve is applied as soon as a break in the skin is visible it is a quick removal with little discomfort.

I guess I have removed 20 or 30 BCC's since I started about 3 years ago. My daughter has my skin type and has als removed BCC's from her face. No knives for us thankyou!!

I have been using bloodroot products for approximately 5 years now. I have spent my most of my life in the sun at beaches and am paying dearly for it now in the way of skin cancer and I know that is my fault not the medical communities. I had been going to dermatoligists faithfully since the early 90's when I noticed what I believed to be precancerous plaques on various spots on my face. Doc's consistently said "no" when I requested biopsies. Mind you every year I went for a check up, I also have many moles. In 2002 I began to really worry and 6 months before the actualy diagnosis of BCC he was still telling me not to worry. So turns out tha ALL of the spots I was pointing out to them were BCC and I had Moh's surgery on my nose and lip, the other 4 spots were removed totally in the office. The result is a horrible scar that looks like I was attacked with a knife, I guess I actually was in a manor of speaking. It has taken time to get used to it, but everytime someone stares I know they are wondering "what the hell happened to her". I believe the plastic surgeon could have done a better job, but that is another story. On a recheck the dermatologist said that there were 2 additional ones and both biopsied positive for BCC. More Moh's surgery was suggested. This time I decided that I would search for alternatives. I probably got the last container of Cansema from altcancer before they arrested that poor guy. I used the product as directed and sure enough, both sites reacted as described. When using it I also have a "control" area with no blemishes, moles, etc., that I also put the salve and these areas have never reacted. I have used various formulas, all have worked. I have treated myself 10 times on spots that gave me concern due to a change in a mole, scaley spots, etc. I know the first 2 were cancerous and suspect the additional ones that I treated without biopsy were cancerous but will never truely know. Each and every time I was treating a spot, my body reacted with extreme pain, fever, edema and swelling at the site. I had to treat one spot on my face 2x but all the spots on my face healed with very minimal scarring. I treated various spots on my arms and hands. I also had some reffered pain when treating certain spots. But my reason for wanting to caution everyone about the potency and seriousness of treating unknown spots is this. Last year I was treating a mole on my back that was itching and had some changes in appearance. Years before this I had noticed a growing lump in the general vicinity of this mole. This "lump" had grown in the years since discovery, but I had asked doctors about it and they said, do nothing, it is a lipoma. It grew to approx. 5 x 1 " and was like a sausage under the skin. I was concerned about it but figured that it was a lipoma because I have other lumps in other places and had some of them removed. Not really thinking about this "lump" I put the salve on the mole above it and YOWZA, the "lump" reacted violently, and came to the surface, I was incapacitated for 2 months, was in regular contact with the makers of the salve I was using. I was ill to say the least. The pain was intolerable. I had to use pain meds that I had on hand. My family wanted me to go to the doctor, but what could they do? If it was cancer there was no way I was going to let them interrupt the process and I had to assume that it was. I was in mental and physical torment for 60 days. To top it off our daughter was getting married and I had to put it together. I was taking enzymes, AHCC, many other suppliments. So this huge sausage shaped tumor came out, just as the small ones did. Gross is too small of a word to describe it. It left a significant scar on my back and is still healing to this day. To add to this, several months later my brother was diagnosed with a rare benign growth that was IN his spinal cord. It was a 7" long and sausage shaped and he had it was successfully removed. When I was researching it, there is also a form of this growth that when it is outside the spinal cord it is normally a very agressive cancer, but I will never know. Several months ago I treated a spot on my forehead and ankle. The spot on the forhead was small and came out within a week. The one on the leg developed into a quarter size reaction area and it would not heal. After alot of trepidation I went to a dermatologist who cauterized the wound. At first glance he said that it looked like a brown reculse spider bite but when I told him how it got there he didn't have much to say and said that I shouldn't use the product. What else could he say? I don't know what happened with the one on my ankle, but it made me very ill also. I have done alot of reading on black salves and other cancer salves and they have a pretty deep history. Like many I just wish there could be some scientific studies done to see exactly what type of tissue it reacts with. I have read small mention of these type products reacting with tissue infected with fungi, virus and bacteria. I am not really concerned about convincing the established medical community. After the 2 very serious reactions I had, I am more cautious in using it. There is a book called "Cancer Salves" that had led me to a better understanding about cancers in general, but what she says is true...approach these salves with alot of respect and research. NEVER smear an area with the salves just to see if something is there. There seems to be a network that I could never connect to that probably has more help and info on the use of these, but could never find a practitioner in Texas. They all seem to be on the west coast. If there are any homeopaths, ND, etc., in my area I could never find one. Well that is my story on cancer salves. I believe they work, but I also believe that there is more to them and it would be nice if I could get some answers on the reactions that occured on my leg and back. Be totally informed before you use the salves, come to your decision to use it by your research, not on someone elses. And have potent pain meds available. You don't want to get half way into treating one of these and decide you can't take the pain. Good Luck.

I have suffered from Basel cell carcinomas for more than 20 years. Blond, fair skin, painting and boat building industry and many years in the sun. I have tried nearly every natural remedy, apple cider vinegar, ozone, aloe with colloidal silver, baking soda, milkweed, coconut oil, hydrogen peroxide but none of them gave a complete result except for Deep tissue Cansema from alphaomegalabs. Once, I got lazy as my source for cansema stopped using it because of pharmaceutical intimidation. So my Dr prescribed aldara cream.

What a mistake that was, a week later I spent 2 weeks on life support at an Auckland hospital. Suffice to say Deep tissue cansema delivers perfect results at a very inexpensive cost, about 50 cents per carcinoma. Yes it leaves a hole and can hurt during the process which takes 12 to 18 days, but fill it with aloe vera gel and a few weeks later, done and dusted never to come back. Much better than life support in hospital.

I use magnabloc magnets to control any pain. There are many counterfeit cansemas on the market so beware.

WORKED TEMPORARILY

I have used cansema for my basal cell carcinoma. Initially, 3 years ago I had to use it 2 times and it worked great, but about 6 months ago it came back in the same place, so I used cansema again, but now the cancer keeps returning again and again. So I have to find another way to get rid of it.

Has anyone else had a basal cell cancer that keeps coming back, and tried something else that worked? I would appreciate any advice.

HI U OLE PATOOTS DOIN,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, man, did not do my keratosis thing last year and my face is covered with a cancer of some sort. My dermatologist would change my looks forever if I allowed his knife. Instead, I am using Curaderm as I have for many years. He knows of it, but will not acknowledge. That's the way they are. The reaction is so drastic that I can hardly stand the pain. But it does subside in an hour or so. I have stopped my 2 treatments /D to allow my face to heal. It has now peeled and looks great, but I am not comfortable and will start my program again next week. I am wearing a long shirt this year and a straw shade hat. My ole Mississippi PawPaw knew this many moons ago. His skin was like an ivory soap bar. It never saw the sun. Now...... he did have a wrinkled red neck for certain. What is so amazing about Cruaderm is that it only reacts with cancer cells. Put it on healthy skin and nothing happens. Curaderm can be bought on line. I initially bought it from the Dr who made it. Now, I buy it from Walmart. There are scam folks here....... so beware. ====ORH====

I had a couple of spots on the back of my left hand for more than a couple of months. Not melanoma - but the ones that are red, smooth, and can itch, sometimes bleeding if I scratched them. The larger one was about 4 mm. I had prepared an eggplant solution the year before for a couple of spots on my arm, which did go away, but I was never sure if it was the eggplant or if they healed on their own. I brought it out from the back of the refrigerator and filled a little roller ball bottle, the kind that some roll-on perfumes come in - you can buy empty ones at some vitamin stores. I kept the bottle on my desk and whenever I thought of it, rolled the solution on the two spots.

Within a few days they went from red to pink and were no longer smooth but matched the texture of the rest of my skin. Now three to four weeks later they are faded pink, almost completely gone.

I made the solution by cutting an eggplant into 1" pieces, stuffing them into a jar, and adding apple cider vinegar to cover, then let it sit for a while (at least a week, probably longer), shaking the jar whenever it occurred to me.
