I started a plant based diet, and took 4 drops of Lugol's Solution a day. I have been vegan since June 27th my last episode and I can honestly say since July 25th I have had no more episodes and in general I feel so much better! Leafy greens and tropical fruits are what I eat. If I cook it is a vegan dish. No animal products whatsoever, and this is worked for me! Good luck to you :)

I've tried all these, molasses+cayenne, ACV+baking soda, Lugol's iodine and magnesium both orally and spray-applied oil. All work fairly well to get rid of the arrhythmias for about 6 months, but they came back every day and I had to watch my diet very carefully to stay off heavy carbs and coffee.

Then I read the symptoms of low potassium. Since they fit me, I bought a bag of potassium chloride (KCl). In a large water glass, 12 oz, I put 1/16th of a teaspoon of KCl, and stirred it up. I sipped the water slowly, for over an hour. Then I repeated throughout the day.

Arrhythmias gone.

I just do that now, very little of the other stuff. I still occasionally take some molasses in warm water, it worked the best. Also magnesium helps lot of things. But the KCl in water is by far the best - I obviously have had an extreme potassium deficiency. I also have better strength in my muscles, and better energy. I'm a 56 year old male.

Yes, you have to be careful with potassium. But if you need it, you really do need it. Don't let naysayers scare you off. Try a little, as I did, and sip it slowly. If it's the solution, you'll know fast. I'm back to being able to eat what I want, including coffee. And no arrhythmias anymore, period.

Seems like I need your advice. I've had an arrhythmia every day for 3 weeks now, non stop. I figured out my Potassium was scary-low, I was so dehydrated my eyes were dry, I was skipping meals, eating once a day if that much and red bulls, 5-6 daily to offset Vicondin, I must take to live with 10 blown discs. I nearly fainted just walking 3 blocks taking my boy to school. I'm 52 but very lean, 5'11" 162 lbs. I've taken it seriously and am down to 1 red bull just to avoid caffeine withdrawals, 2 bananas each day, plus OJ, nuts, raisins, lots of Potassium foods, 4-5 bottles of water, no junk food.

At rest the arrhythmia is not bad, but any activity, even moderate housekeeping and the arrhythmia is severe. Resting pulse sitting up is about 72 bpm, low 60 laying down. I've lived clean and potassium rich for 3 days now and still have the arrhythmia, I'll have a blood test in 2 days. Meaning to buy Potassium and Magnesium supps, but I don't know which to buy and if it will help. I'd really appreciate your input. My EKG was clean and BP good...but I need my heart to stop freaking out, I have a little boy to raise. Thanks

Hello Tommy,

There are probably lots of other remedies but Dr Dean has received various awards from the British arrythmia society for her work involving Magnesium And Arrythmia. In the US and UK, not to mention China etc, much of the soil is depleted of magnesium and other vital minerals because of intensive mono agriculture and chemical fertilisers like phosphates and nitrates which remove magnesium from the soil. So no matter if you eat a truck load of spinach, if it's been grown in magnesium depleted soil, you will get lots of fibre but no magnesium - which is why she advocates taking liquid magnesium - but whatever sort works for you.

Also, Ashwagandha herb is very helpful for heart health. I put my husband on it 6 weeks ago after a herbalist/ naturopath recommended it and his BP has come down so his doctor has taken him off his diuretic BP pill, and halved the dose of the other tablet which means he gets to sleep through the night without having to run to the loo. He's well over retirement age so I guess if it works well for him, you might think about researching it perhaps.

Good luck and blessings.

Hi, I stumbled accross this site and just want to say a big thankyou for the helpful info. I am 49 and have had a dual chamber pacemaker (several) since I was 27. I have suffered with a multitude of different types of arrhythmias which the doctors just label sick sinus syndrome. More recently I have had episodes of VT. They tried several meds that my body just rejected and nearly killed me. Wanted to try burning my heart & if that didn't work - try putting a defribulator in. Providing I survive an op to take out all the current leads in there. That sent me on a path to find my own answers.

I would like to share with all the women sufferers out there not to discount the benefits of natural progesterone. Have to import it as in my country it is not available. (they just want to kill you with chemicals) I learnt a lot from reading the book 'what your doctor may not tell you about menopause' by John R Lee MD.

I also have been taking herbal medicine prescribed for me by a authentic Chinese doctor.

The combination of these has helped 50%. Im still not out of the woods yet which prompted my search.

I have followed the links and intend to start trying the vitamin methods as well. So thanks again I had started to give up. I knew there must be another way.

Also, if you need a quick fix, I find that running a mile or so is sufficient for me to reset my heart rhythm. So far, I've only had to do it 3 times, but have had success with no relapses for at least 24 hours. May be just me and my particular arrhythmia, but it is handy when traveling or away from your supplements.

Yes sea salt makes all the difference. I grew up with adrenal fatigue which turned into exhaustion/burnout 3.5 years ago. During this phase the adrenals don't produse aldosterone (anti-diuretic hormone) so the kidneys leak salt. As a result the potassium you eat is not absorbed - or very little of it - so that the balance is maintained in the body. When your levels are so low the heart cannot work properly. Until you start salting your water and food your potassium will remain very low. The heart problems - unless there is a physical malformaton or damage - are pure de-hydration.

In the morning drink a glass of water with a little salt in it. Experiment with the dosage. Shouldn't overdo it to start with. Try to eat at least one big green salad a day sprinkled with salt. Avoid in the evenings as you may get very thirsty in the middle of the night. I use Celtic Sea Salt, completely unprocessed and very tasty. Eat bananas too. You should see the difference in a couple of days.

Finally, I cant praise magnesium chloride enough. Magnesium is notoriously difficult to absorb. The absolute best & fastest way to replenish the body is transdermally. It's like balm for the adrenals.

Hello Terri, You can make that transdermal magnesium more pleasurable by adding a cup or two of Epsom Salts (magnesium sulfate) to your warm bath water and laying back relaxed until your bath water gets cool. Sure makes tired muscles feel better after working in the garden, etc.

I started taking sea salt with every bottle of water I drank. 1/4 teaspoon per bottle. After 2 days my heart went into a crazy rhythym of extra beats--my blood pressure spiked to 174/110 before it was 115/70------

I had to go to the cardiologist---I was causing an imbalance in my blood--f'd my whole system up--- could have shutdown my renal system as well.

DONT TAKE IT------

Thanks to a cat owner who tripled its sea salt and got rid of its diabetes, it triggered me to up my salt intake to that of a saline IV. That is 1.5 tsp. per quart of water consumed. I confirmed that requirement with an energy test by a chiropractor. That change cut my episodes of AFIB 75% and far less severe. I now have a near normal life & it did not cost me one cent.

I have been struggling with chardiac arrythmias and tried a ORS which works great! I also have symptoms of a defficiency in Iodine so I am getting some Lugol's Iodine tomorrow. In the mean time:

Clean water (4.5 cups or 1L)

Salt (1/2 teaspoon or 2.5mL)

Sugar (6 teaspoons or 30mL)

OR…

Clean water (1 cup)

Salt (1/8 teaspoon)

Sugar (1.5 teaspoons)

Oral rehydration solutions should be consumed or discarded within 12 hours if held at room temperature.

Hope this helps! God bless!

Be careful with any salt you take. My SIL swore by the pink Himalayan salt. I bought a bag, and put it in my salt shakers. Just used that for cooking, etc... Immediately, my heart rhythm started messing up. It made the adrenalin surge through my body. I found myself getting on the treadmill two-three times a day, trying to work it off, and then at night, it would still flare up. It took me 3-4 days to figure out "what am I doing different???" It dawned on me about the Himalayan salt, I stopped using that, and immediately, I was back to normal. I gave my bag to my SIL since it actually helps her. There is something in it that she needed, but worked against me. I'm having problems now again- just at night mostly, but it's due to stress or anxiety about us making a move, or lack of something in my diet. But there was a 4-6 week period of relief after quitting the Himalayan salt. I don't salt my food a lot. I have noticed that if I eat anything salty early in the day- like for breakfast, it will induce heart skips. I've lived with a sensitive heart to adrenalin for 30 plus years. Still don't have it all figured out

Right now I'm trying the CALM plus Calcium (it has magnesium in it and couple other things), and a supplement of Mag/Cal/zinc. Also trying the Apple cider vinegar, twice a day in a little apple cider, and 1 TBL, twice a day of black strap molasses. I'm also on a beta blocker- twice a day (Sectral)- been taking that for 25 years- and every time I try to get off of it, the heart starts racing- so it really does help.

Also take very mild doses of Clonzepam when especially needed. Must be careful not to take that too often though- or it becomes ineffective and habit forming. Although, my doctor said it's good to take it for a week or so when going through a bad stressful time.

Hi Sharon,

I drink Hawthorn tea every day to help me with heart palpitations. I tend to get them mostly when I lie down. Drinking the tea has eliminated most of them and when I do get them they're not as bad as before. (I have a mitral valve problem.) I recently had a bad spell one night which I think was because I had eaten little too much almond butter. Hope this info helps.

When you start on celtic sea salt and magnesium and minerals you have to start slow start with a pinch in water and raise it a little every week till you get to 1/4 teaspoon in 1 pint of water and drink half your body weight in sea salt water! It can take upto a year to remineralize the heart and body, so be patient and start slow. If you do a bunch of salt at first, it will make afib worse because your body is not use to the minerals

I wish i could say i was like others on this board. occasional problems. i have atrial fib all day every day. i take coumiden so i don't get a stroke.i also take metroprolo to control the beat somewhat.

i am a person that has suffered with high stress for most of my life including my childhood and have a tendency to take things personaly further adding to the stress load. i have on occasion snapped and went berserk on more than one occasion. i suppose that really made my adrenals weak.

i have tried apple cider vinegar, liver flush, fasting, hawthorn berry syrup, green tea, baking soda for acidity reduction, calcium and magnesium, trace minerals, carrot juice, beet juice, celery juice. hemp hearts, omega three. the only thing i have not really got into is adrenal therapy and thirty day juice fasting. if i don't find the source of the problem i will just have to wait for this to kill me. its been this way for 2 years now and i am ready to cure myself because the mds haven't got a clue.

I have arrythmia and atrial fib. I have been to many docs and have tried lots of meds. Nothing stops it when it happens. I have gone off all meds each time after trying them out. What keeps me feeling best is eating raw fruits and vegies for breakfast and lunch, staying away from wheat and dairy and eating a healthy dinner of vegies and meat or fish. I find this keeps my system moving regularly and limits episodes of arrythmia. I don't use the meds and here is another helpful tip. When I feel like an episode is upon me, I try to escape and meditate in a quiet place.

Also, bending over and allowing blood and pressure to fill the chest and head area is helpful when it feels bad. I also bring my attention to my breathing and it becomes more of a normal way of being if you are bringing your attention to your breathing on a regular basis. At those times of obvious arrythmia, I notice my breathing is shallow to non existent, practically, and bringing the oxygen back in with deep, rhythmic breathing is very helpful. Mostly, EAT RIGHT (RAW fruits and vegies and seeds)!!! BREATHE WELL!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

11/14/2008: Bluebell from Acton, MA writes in again, "also, try vit b and b12 and try magnesium supplements. They may help you with your reaction and calm you a bit. You mentioned juicing. That would be my recommendation. I have done that and have felt great. I do that with smoothies in a vita mix blender and use fresh leafy greens and fruit daily for morning meal. NO BREADS or cooked food for whole day til my early dinner which as I said, is mostly vegies, meat, fish and a non wheat, non cheese starch. It really makes a difference and i have lots of energy. I am discovering that i really must have an allergy to the dairy and wheat because i feel better when i am off of both. I suspected the flour caused arrythmia for many years, now, but it isn't just the white flour, but I think the wheat altogether. good luck!

Hi Ron,

Have you done an on-line search of excitotoxins? If not please do so instead of waiting for your arrhythmias to kill you. The arrhythmias and your going berserk at times can be unwanted side effects of monosodium glutamate and aspartame - two major excitotoxins our processed foods are laden with. Your going berserk sounds mighty like the mood swings from the excitotoxins!

While reading on monosodium glutamate (MSG) be sure and make a list of all the names they hide MSG under in the ingredients lists and go into your kitchen and read ingredients in everything you eat, drink, or use in cooking, including your raw meats. Be wary of anything that just says "spices" without naming those spices and anything that says "naural flavors" or "natural flavoring" and anything that contains broth. Become aware of your actual excitotoxin intake before you develop Alzheimer's disease or one of the others they cause and don't return from "going berserk".

If you eat out often, be aware that anything made with a marianade, ketchup, sauce or gravy is going to be heavily laden with MSG and and so will most of the salad dressings. Any diet food or drink is most likely loaded with aspartame or Nutra-sweet.

This is for Ron in Florida, I have also suffered from heart fibs, I had a heart attack and bypass(quadruple), I also have a defibrilator, which I have let the battery die and have not had it replaced thanks partially to Ted and this web site. The one thing that has helped me alot is a chiropractor, my palpitations have lessened emensely, I feel alot better and more alive! try one I believe it will help you. But you need to find a holistic chiropractor, not the twist and crack kind but the stretch and monuver, ita alot better.

I am a 63 year old man and all my life I have been stressed to the point of exploding . I have always had a seething burning anger and have always had a low opinion of the human race. This began when I was 8 years old and continues to this day. Anger, hate, and bitterness have been my constant companions my entire life, now it has poisoned my body. For many years I have been told my hands were ice cold and my temps indicated I had weak adrenals but until now I never realized how it could affect my health. This has been brought to my attention my a constant atril fibulation problem that I think was created by my adrenal fatigue. I am starting a program of licorice vitamins and minerals as well as adrenal extract.I look forward to adrenal solutions and atril fib connections on this board. I have no other choice than to get my mind purified and put all the negative thoughts out of my mind that have poisoned me for years.

I have been on here before commenting about having a constant a fib problem and that i have tried just about everything and was going to concentrate on the adrenals. i read that those that have adrenal exhaustion are advised to up the sodium intake and my mineral analysis also indicated i was low in sodium. i have always been a huge avoider of salt, no canned food only fresh veggies never salted ever. i avoided salt like it was poision and then i read about natural sea salt and all the minerals that were in it and read about how salt not table salt but good quality natural salt affects heartbeat and started trying some sea salt and it really seems to be helping much to my surprise. could this be the magic key? the fact i have avoided salt and went out of my way not to ingest any salt at any time may have caused my a fib. could it be so simple? any one that has tried this or checked it out please advice about the experience because this is the first thing that really seems to fit the puzzle. sea salt has an anti arrythmic effect and i am as shocked and surprised as i can get.

Hi Ron, It's been almost 10 months since you last checked in, I have a similar problem as you, last winter I finally got off my butt and started working out again, motivated in part because I started having these weird feelings every once in awhile, usually after eating high in sugar (donuts, or even home made fruit smoothies), I figured I might be on the verge of a diabetic issue. So I started to watch my diet and working out. I've pretty much been a water only drinker for the past decade. I was doing okay, lost 20-25 lbs. after the first couple months, then bam!, the weird feeling started happening, almost every day. I wondered if I was over-training? So I backed off a little, then softball season started I gradually stopped working out all together for the summer, saving my energy for practice and the games. I even had my roommate bring me to the ER once, only to have them say my heart was fine, that I must have GERD. I was a bit suspicious, I know what heartburn is, this wasn't it, but I started eating tums like candy. I started to dig around online (obviously still am ;oP) to try and figure out what's going on. In the process I learned the weird feeling was arrhythmia. It still seems to me to be diet related. Eliminating sugars didn't seem to be the answer, actually eating a few spoonfuls of peanut butter and honey seemed to calm the heart down. I also found eating some fatty beef helped too. (Maybe it is a stress issue and comfort foods help?) And the subject of allergies causing them got me thinking. Soy, Wheat, Dairy, Eggs? Now soy is suppose to be heart healthy (which apparently may not be supported by facts) so in addition to buying a bunch of expensive vitamins I bought a bag of edamame (soybean in pods) and although tasty, I noticed after eating those I had a bad flareup, maybe I'm allergic to soy? So I research that possibility and there might be something to that. Trouble is, you pretty much have to make ALL your food at home from scratch, because when you start looking at labels you'll realize how much soy has invaded processed foods, it is in everything, breads, pizzas, donuts, cookies, chocolate, peanut butter, fried chicken, even some seasonings have it. I've even seen it in cheese. And to think I was using soy milk on cereal as I seemed to develop a lactose issue (but not with cheese, go figure). So going on the notion that it might be a allergic reaction in my stomach, causing internal swelling and pressing on my vagus nerve, which I read could cause irregular heartbeats, I started taking Benedryl, mainly during the evening along with a couple baby aspirin and a magnesium pill, and it seems to at least help me get to sleep. I think I did read something about salt at one point, but it didn't really stick. Like you I've been avoiding adding salt to my food, if I eat too much salty chips or popcorn I actually feel nauseous. So I'm curious, it's been almost 10 months, how has the salt treatment been working, is it working? How much are you taking? Please check back in and give us an update? As it is, I will stop by a store tomorrow and pick some up and start adding a little to my meals. I will check back in with an update if it works for me too. Thanks, -Logan. It's 3:40 am here and my heart rate has gotten down to 70/min. (my resting was 50 before this all flared up) so off to bed.

It has been 3 months since my last update. I have been adding extra sea salt (about 1/8th tsp) to my morning oatmeal and using it with every meal, also been taking about 1/8 tsp with my vitamins in the morning, before my workouts and in evening before bed with my diphenhydramine HCI 25-50mg(generic benedryl) and aspirin. I tried the molasses but have stopped using it to see if the salt worked on its own and it does seem to be doing the job. Still having occasional flare-ups, usually after eating out, so I am still thinking soy may be a causal agent, either an allergic reaction or perhaps it binds to sodium and makes it unavailable causing a deficiency? So, not a complete cure, but seems like low sodium (I actually created a spread sheet using data from the USDA website to see how much sodium my healthy diet was giving me and discovered I was only getting about 600-700 mg a day, which is less than half the RDA) is definitely a major factor in my condition. I have always had lower than normal blood pressure, and do not know how much Stephen from Mansfield was taking a day to cause his negative reaction, he did not mention how many bottles of water he was drinking. If he drinks anywhere as much as I do (about a gallon/day) he was definitely over-doing it. I am taking between 1/2-1 tsp a day, which is placing me right in the middle of the RDA range. I am 45 and controlling the arrhythmia enough to get to the gym to workout daily, and my resting heart rate is now currently 52 bpm.

Bill from Pampanga:

I asked this question but forgot to check back here till now. Thanks for replying Bill. Mercury Drug Store in the Philippines sells 10 volumes RHEA H2O2 (Agua Oxigenada) made by Telstar Manufacturing for PHILUSA. This must be the red and white tip bottle you mentioned. It doesn't list any other ingredient other than H2O2, so it must be okay. Will taking 6 drops in filtered (3-stage sediment filter, Carbon filter and UV sterilized water be okay for mixing it in or do I have to buy Absolute or Wilkins distilled drinking water?

I also bought United Home Sodium Bicarbonate tablets(680 mg. ). Instructions say take 3 times a day, 1 hour after each meal. Would this do instead of mixing 1/4 Sod. Bicarb in 1/2 glass of water? I wonder what the equivalent of 680 grams of Sod. Bicarb in measuring spoons (1/4 or 1/2?)

Can I take the 6 drops of H2O2 with or after the Sod. Bicarb?

I have a discomfort in my upper left stomach that is activated by eating sweets. It disappears when I stay away from sugar stuff but returns after taking sweet stuff like fruit and grapes. I don't want to wait and be diagnosed with cancer and start treatment so I must as well do now. I ordered some maple syrup to be mixed with Sod. Bicarb but I just read Ted from Bangkok's instructions not to take it with maple. Ted seems to know a lot so he must be a practicing doctor who tried out a lot of alternative cancer treatments. I don't think I can buy Lugol's Iodine here in our country, can you?

I've had a quadruple by-pass in 1993. 12 years later in 2005, I was scheduled for another angiogram and possible stent or by-pass. Couldn't afford it and I really don't want to go through it all over again. I opted for Intravenous chelation and had 35 IV's using EDTA and Plaquex plus vitamins in IV form and O2 in water solution and came out okay. I didn't exercise and watch my diet so in April 2010 this year, I had 12 IV's of EDTA and Plaquex only again. Not having money to continue the IV chelation treatment, I tried Cardio-Renew EDTA in liquid drops and I am okay now. I can't get an endoscopy till I have a cardiac clearance but it costs money that I don't really have. So, I don't know what I got in my stomach. I have a super sweet tooth and was fond of sweets. But now, I am abstaining because I fear what may be inside my stomach. It's like a sore that won't go away but the sod. Bicarb tablets is helping a lot till I eat sweet stuff again. This causes my heartbeat to go medium fast and irregular. Could this be candida?

I noticed that after staying away from sweets and taking the sod. Bicarb tablets, the arrhythmia disappears. It's a strange one that normally starts when I lie down on my left side (most of the time. Positional arrhythmia maybe? I wonder why and what's causing it on my left side. Thanks so much and I'd appreciate suggestions from you Bill or Ted or anybody.

Mikec... You have alot that is wrong with your body, but I'm sure you can cure most of this yourself. Virtually all of what I'm recommending is from Ted's advice on this site. So far, I've had my own problems(all cured now) and I've made a detailed study of Ted's remedies and know them fairly well now -- although it has to be said that Ted is continually discovering new remedies and changing his old ones, so sometimes it's hard to keep up!!

I'll try and address your problems one by one. Here is what I would do:

Heart Problems
1. Adopt Linus Paulings Heart Protocol -- Every day take at least 6-8 GRAMS of Sodium Ascorbate per day together with 6 - 8 GRAMS of Lysine(Amino Acid). Take this in water in three or four split doses outside mealtimes per day. I buy Ascorbic Acid powder(from Thailand) and I convert it to ascorbate by adding Sodium Bicrbonate(Baking Soda -- Arm and Hammer brand -- you can buy this at any SM or Robinsin's mall very cheaply) until the fizzing stops. One month on Linus Pauling's Protocol should show significant results. See and hear more on Pauling's heart remedy protocol here:

http://www.paulingtherapy.com/

2. Heart Arrhythmia: Take large dose Magnesium - as Mag Citrate, Mag Chloride or Mag Gluconate - about 1000 mgms with water in split doses, for about 3 days then reduce dosage to about 500 mgs daily. If the larger dose cuses loose stools, just cut back a bit on the dose. This is what I did for my own arrhythmia, dizzyness and night cramps and I was cured in days. All diets -- including water -- these days seriously lack magnesium.

3. Stay away from sugar and calcium. No sugar or sweets, no dairy. Calcium in excess acidifies the body and is not good for the heart muscle. No sweetners allowed, no aspartame or sacharrine etc.

4. Take more potassium.

5. If you take any salt -- make sure its only natural sea salt NOT processed salt. Sea salt is easily and cheaply purchased in the markets here in the Philippines.

6. Take Lugol's Iodine. You can buy this easily in Bangkok, Thailand -- just go to Radjdamnearn Rd near the palace. Get a taxi to the winged monument and get out -- plenty of chemical supplies in that road. I got mine at Vidhyasom Lmtd. You can get Lugol's, Mag Chloride, Vit C powder and Borax there(chemical grade) very cheaply. I currently take about 12-13 mgs lugols(2 drops 5% lugols) in water every other day(sometimes mixed with vit c in solution). Helps me sleep, keeps me regular and protects my intestines against fungi, bacteria etc.

Baking Soda and Hydrogen Peroxide

You can certainly take these together but you stomach problems would be helped more if you took just 1/4 tspn Baking soda with 1/2 glass of water approximately 1/2 hour after eating(or when the food has moved out of the stomach. ). This will aid digestion, preventing acidity and pains and will also help to preserve the bicarbonates in your pancreas to be used instead to alkalize your body.

I also just use the TELSTAR 10% by volume hydrogen peroxide(which is 3% H202) sold in the Philippines because there is nothing else. Been using it internally for 4-5 years now with no problems.

Stomach Pains

This sounds like it could be helicobacter pylori bacteria causing a problem. Here is what Ted has to say about it:

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "I noted a simple cure of H. Pylori involves the same remedy as the acid reflux. The key is to reduce the stomach acidity and decreases the time the food spends in the stomach. Sour food, such as fruit juices, and other sour food would cause the stomach to digest the food slower (this is a known fact by even conventional medicine), and results in acid reflux. Adding 1/8 teaspoon of baking soda or 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda along with the foods we eat, with reduce sourness in the food and sweetness, can prevent H. Pylori from growing. Drinking plenty of water would also reduce the colonies as H. Pylori are acid lovers. In general I would also take 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda once in the morning and once before bedtime in 1/2 glass of water. But I may also take a 1/8 or'1/4 teaspoon of baking soda along with the food to reduce its acidity and decrease the time the food spends in the stomach, so that the H. Pylori, can persist. This has worked generally well. One secret why I never get H. Pylori is that when I eat food, I always eat going back and forth drinking water. In generally I drink between 2-3 glasses (usually 3) of water during meals, not counting all the other glasses of water I take when there' no meal. Hence, I can easily exceed the required 8 glasses per day just counting the number of glasses of water I drink in a day, which amounts to at least 9 glasses of water a day. Between meals, I may drink between 1-2 glasses just because I feel the need. The key therefore is just to add baking soda. Some people want to maintain a sodium/potassium ratio. In that case, a 1/4 baking soda plus 1/8 potassium bicarbonate in 1/2 glass of water taken twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. Some baking soda is needed during meals. Do not add too much baking soda. It has a laxative effect during meals, but it does decrease the time the food spends in the stomach and H. Pylori dies of starvation in an alkaline medium. "

TED I dare you to answer all of my questions as nobody seems to know. If you decrease the acid in the stomach by drinking water with meals then how are you going to digest protein. What proteins can you eat and still have a 7.3 ph to kill yeast. Also, almost every other site you go to says not to drink with meals because it dilutes digestive chyme. Also how do you know if the body is releasing carbonates or not. Maybe by drinking BS your pancreas will stop releasing it.

In response to some of your other posts :If you don't take calcium because yeast attaches to these calcium walls where are you going to get your calcium from (not from your food because if you have leaky gut or digestion issues you are not digesting your foods)What is a great candida meal for you. I guess what I am trying to say is some of these techniques leave the body deficient.

Ripple, there's no need to dare Ted to respond to you or post that "nobody knows any of the answers" when this is the first time you've posted these questions here. I know Ted's pretty busy now helping some people in life and death situations, so until he can get back to you, I'll post some links that might be of interest to you and others here.

1) "... a lot of complementary practitioners recommend against drinking water with meals, believing it dilutes the stomach acid and, hence, interferes with proper digestion. Technically this is not true, Dr. B says, as the water probably doesn't significantly mix with digestive juices. So for the record it's only people who are having problems making enough stomach (hydrochloric) acid who need to worry about this...."
http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=549283
http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=549283

2) "...the greater part of the water passes through the stomach in less than fifteen minutes; therefore it will not interfere with the meal. Even three to five glasses may be taken at one meal and half an hour later no more will remain than if only one had been taken...."

"To review those with a large amount of gastric juice, of high acidity, may drink with advantage; those with low acidity, may be injured, especially if motility is at the same time impaired. Those with good motility have no reason to avoid water drinking with meals. Those with poor motility should take no more than eight ounces of fluids of all kinds with each meal. "
Source: http://www.oldandsold.com/articles07/eat-20.shtml

3) There are medical tests your physician can conduct and send to a lab to measure your carbonate/bicarbonate level.

4) You're worried that the body will stop producing carbonates/carbonates if you supplement with such? I have seen no data saying such can happen but perhaps it hasn't been researched and published yet. But if someone is suffering and they don't have money and carbonate/bicarbonate supplementation has been found to be beneficial in research that has been done, then you have to weigh the current quality of life against that possible risk until it is hopefully one day known and published. Regular loading of say with sodium bicarbonate could upset the sodium/potassium balance, but then you can just add some potassium citrate or bicarbonate if needed.

5) In some cases, leaky gut is caused by excess calcium
http://www.healthyawareness.com/articles/about-dysbiosis/what-is-leaky-gut.aspx

6) Most of us have plenty of calcium. If your body can't absorb nutrients from food, it'll most likely have trouble absorbing nutrients from supplements to one degree or another. So focusing on healing the ailment first and worry about supplementing with calcium later unless it there is a known severe deficiency. "Leaky gut syndrome also creates a long list of mineral deficiencies because the various carrier proteins present in the gastrointestinal tract that are need to transport minerals to the blood are damaged by the inflammation process.... If the carrier protein for magnesium is damaged, magnesium deficiency develops as the result of malabsorption.... Further, bone problems develop as a result of the malabsorption of calcium, boron, silicon and manganese. "
Source: http://www.mold-survivor.com/leaky_gut_syndrome.html

7) Also if leaky gut is often caused by yeast breaking down the walls of the intestine so food and toxins leak, why would you be worrying about calcium supplementation since yeast/fungus feed off of calcium? I would focus on remedying the ailment first then worrying about getting enough calcium. Even if you take an oral calcium supplement, as I wrote above, the body might not be able to absorb it well either. These techniques may sometimes leave some bodies deficient, but what is better to just suffer and do nothing when we have affordable, easy to access remedies that many are posting positive feedback to on various home remedy websites (as well as even some traditional medicine research has even touted the positive benefits of such).

Hi Ripple... I'm not Ted, but I was the one who responded to Mikec. In answer to your questions:

If you don't drink water then digestion is impaired. There are three stages to digestion. First in the mouth -- an alkaline environment -- where the enzymes in the saliva begin to help digest carbohydrates. Then in the acid stomach who's main function is to begin protein digestion, to kill bad microbes and to break up the food in the stomach through muscular contractions. The final and the most important part of digestion begins in the duodenum -- in an alkaline evironment. If you do not drink enough water with your meal, then the stomach chyme will remain too dry and will not break up so well for next stage digestion in the duodenum. Also, if not enough water is taken, both the hydrochloric acid in the stomach and the protein enzymes will not be spread evenly throughout the food to properly digest food and kill bacteria, leading to problems. If the stomach chyme squirted into the duodenum is fairly dry and thick, then same thing -- poor digestion results and since the chyme needs to be neutralized to slightly alkaline by bicarbonates from the pancreas first for this next digestion stage to work, and if this is incomplete then this could lead to an acid intestine and other problems like candida.

The reason I drink 1/2 baking soda or sodium bicarbonate in half a glass of water half an hour after meals is to aid digestion and to preserve the bicarbonates in my pancreas. By taking sodium bicarbonate in water when the food has moved out of the stomach into the duodenum -- I help turn the acid chyme from the stomach into an alkaline environment for proper digestion in the duodenum. Also, by not using the bicarbonates from the pancreas, then these bicarbonates will be released into the blood, thereby helping to alkalize my blood.

Next - Calcium. The reason Ted advises against taking Calcium supplements is simple. All foods now in the West are too heavily fortified with calcium. Corn Flakes, rice and grains, milk, other drinks, pastries -- everything is heavily fortified with calcium now. So, on a daily basis, the western diet has too much calcium. Calcium in excess acidifies cells and is therefore bad for you. But taking calcium in the correct amounts with the other major electrolytes -- Magnesium, Sodium and Potassium -- needed for your body is good for you. This is why Ted insists that you don't have to take calcium supplements in a western diet -- because western foods are loaded with calcium already. Also, it is worthwhile supplementing potassium and magnesium in the western diet as these minerals are always lacking. Magnesium is used in over 300 enzyme reactions in your body and is also the mineral that helps to regulate calcium in your cells and bones. And if you take salt -- make sure its natural sea salt -- more alkaline than processed salt. From my own experience, I also would admit that regularly taking these four minerals in the correct amounts has made a significant difference in my own health and life.

My ideal meal for candida would be a thin, unfancy Chinese style vegetable soup with chicken or fish chop suey. Lots of stir-fried veg, with a small mount of white meat.

EC: Hi Bill, Can you clarify "1/2 baking soda". Thanks so much.

Sorry about the mix up EC!! .... Typing too fast. To clarify dosages of sodium bicarbonate -- I take 1/2 tspn sodium bicarbonate in half a glass of water. I also take 1/2 tspn of sodium bicarbonate with two tablespoons ACV or with a squeezed lime or with a squeezed lemon in half a glass of water. I also know that Ted recommends 1/4 and 1/2 tspn amounts of Sodium bicarbonate and this seems to cause some confusion. The reason I take 1/2 tspn amounts of sodium bicarbonate in the above remedies is because I'm a 200 lbs guy and it suits me. If you are of a significantly lower weight or you have problems with 1/2 tspn amounts then use 1/4 tspn amounts of sodium bicarbonate with the above remedies.

The way I use these alkalizing remedies is that if I feel fine, I'll take one of them maybe once a day. If I'm tired or run down, I'll increase dosage to two or three times a day(for one alkalizing remedy). Dosages and frequency are up to you because everyone's weight and metabolism are different and everyone has different problems - so you will have to adjust your own dosages accordingly. As you become more aware of your body and more intimate with these remedies, you will be able to just know what dosages to take for yourself almost by instinct. That's been my own experience over the last five years or so of using these remedies anyway.

Go to a Traditional Chinese Doctor and ask for DAN SHEN (a Chinese herb). It does not cure arrythmia, but it calms things down. Remember that there is Dan Shen and Dan Shen. It was not until I went to a Chinese Doctor that my arrythmia calmed down. Some people may find it expensive, but I think it is reasonably priced. I have used it for over twelve months. I found that regular medical specialists were hopeless. They just do not know what to do, but of course allow one to think they are in control.

Taurine controls my 8 year battle with a racing heart. I get mine from chemical exposures (perfumes, cleaners, etc. ) taurine is an antioxidant that doctors don't seem to know about. I take 3 - 1000mg tablets a day. The body flushes out what you don't need. It is safe with no know drug interaction issues. It has literally been a miracle for me! I hope it helps you too.

There's some research that Taurine might be one of the most important amino acids to regulate the heartbeat. The research paper on the link below discusses how someone who had 20, 000 irregular heartbeats per day eliminated them with Taurine (along with L-Arginine). The paper says that the people involved in this particular study had tried many other supplements prior to Taurine, but Taurine (with L-Arginine) was the answer for them

See George Eby Research site.

They were using very, very heavy doses (10 - 20 grams per day). For a starter dose, one could take 3 grams per day of Taurine in 3 divided doses of 1 gram (the paper says to take with meals, but I have heard that it's better on an empty stomach so that it doesn't compete with other amino acids for absorption). According to what I have read, there are no side effects for dosages up to 3 grams. Beyond that, you might want to do some searching on the internet to check on this. Overall though, it seems that Taurine is pretty safe, but it's probably best to start with small doses and build up.

From the link, it seems that L-Arginine does have side effects (sometimes severe), so proceed with caution with L-Arginine, or just supplement with Taurine and see what happens.

Robert, I have self converted with Taurine and a few other supps, but not that quantity, 20gms seems like a load. To Hwkmn 05: I had read in one of your older posts that you had converted to NSR with 1 gr Taurine and 1000 mg Hawthorne before taking 300 flecainide.Does that work, sometimes I may try it before the meds(flec). Was afraid to do that in case of bad reaction with the flec if supplements don't do it. Always looking for another way to convert without the "flec" if possible. But I guess I should be happy that the flec usually always does do the job in 2-3 hrs.I know o friend that is in afib for around 16 hrs but doesn't get it as frequently as I and had a stroke when it went as long as 16 hrs. Was creeping up on a gradual basis before that. Luckily she went right to E.R. and is fine now but on blood thinner forever! They kept telling her that was o.k. to be in but they did say she should take blood thinner pill if in more than 12 hrs.I think. But she only gets it every month/month1/2. The blood thinner hasn't changed any of that! Hope all is well with yours!

Pat, never saw this post until today! Must have jumped over from the other blog.

I'm not sure where I posted my supplement conversion, but those dosages look low. More like 3 gms Taurine, 1200mg Mag, 4000 mg Haw, and a few other things.

Yes, you have to be committed to this or you will be waiting some time to add the Flec, seeing that your blood is thinning with Mag and HR is lower with Hawthorne, it will interfere.

16 hrs is not long in AF. I was in once for 14 days, no clotting and certainly no stroke. Sounds like some other issue going on with her.

My supplement usage is very low now. Mostly doing C 4000mg, little Mag a bedtime. B12, fish oil. Taurine and Haw occasionally.

Mostly, as I've said before, the Vagus nerve treatment, so far so good. Added some nutritional balancing with different cleanses/enemas to some good results of wgt loss etc. Be well!

I am 78 and stunned that some young people have arrythmia. I wouldn't have known I had it if the cardiologist had not told me and I had not seen it on the monitor. It looks like I am lucky only to have the problem at my age. I had a stent put in about three months ago for narrowing of an artery. I was put on heavy blood thinners including warfarin, aspirin and plagrol. Warfarin is a terrible drug. Caused heavy bleeding. My blood was one tenth of the correct thickness. I am now on Xarelto, aspirin and Plagrol all of which are blood thinners. I can stop the Plagrol six months after the stent op.

Unfortunately, I also needed my prostate removed about a month after the stent op. I experienced excessive bleeding which has now thankfully stopped. I was bleeding so badly sometimes it looked as if there was no water in the toilet, only blood. I have to admit I might have injured the wound. The doc took me off Xarelto temporarily to try and stem the blood flow but I am back on it again. I was put on Arycor for the arrythmia. The doc told me not to let my heart rate exceed 100. I bought a heart rate monitor which shows I still have arrythmia so what is the Arycor doing? I walk to get fit. You can't do anything, barely sneeze, without exceeding 100 so how am I supposed to get fit?

Anyhow, the point of this long story

is that Arycor causes dizziness, loss of coordination and uncontrolled movements. Nearly fell on my wife once. Had a nasty accident on my bike. I put all this down to Arycor. Now the doctor wants to replace the Arycor with Dilatrend, a beta blocker. I don't know if this is the way to go so I read this site with great interest.

I do get short of breath walking up a steepish hill but I put it down to general unfitness and the severe blood loss I suffered. Any comments will be valuable.

Reply to Roy, South Africa, Sept 27 2020 re: heart arrhythmia

My situation is different from yours, but I have used this treatment for myself and others. I had heart pains 10 times per minute after contracting H1N1. I was in intensive care and the doctors told me they were more worried about me having a heart attack than me having to be on a ventilator. I used Strauss Heartdrops (made in Canada) 4 times per hour and by the end of the first day, my heart pains had decreased to a few times per day. I used the drops for a few months (but only 4 times per day), and now I have a bottle that I just use a couple of times per month. It is a natural product from an old European recipe and I swear by it.

My boss had a bad system from years of medication for gout. He was showing signs of heart attack (pain in the left shoulder, paleness, sweating, anxiety) and the doctor told him he probably pulled a muscle. (!! ) I got him some Strauss and stood there while he took it. It really doesn't taste good and a lot of people give up after one dose. I told him to hold it under his tongue for three minutes and then swallow. He came to me a few hours later and told me he had taken another dose and he was starting to feel better. His wife is very grateful to me.

If the taste is beyond horrible for you, put the dose in some juice. I feel that holding it under the tongue is the best way to get the most from this product.

By the way, I was also taking organic sulphur crystals when I had H1N1. I attribute the sulphur to my very fast recovery and I feel it helped with my heart issues too.

Best of luck to you, Roy. I hope you feel better soon.

ROY, ORH here, and I am the only soul on this site that will tell you to do EDTA Chelation and your heart pluggage problem is solved. It works and the cardiologists do not want you to know. I did 100 over the last 14 years and had zero pluggge when tested at age 77. Now 84, and have an electrical problem that cannot be addressed by ablation. In the room over the years with me were some 200 folks that had already done stents, bypasses, etc and their doctor told them to get their paper work in order because he could no longer help them. They lived a normal life with EDTA Chelation. Let me tell you another trick. Instead of a free flu shot, spend $100 and get a UBI, ultraviolet blood irritation. Procedure was done until 1955 when antibiotics came along. We start in Oct and get one each month until March.

For my arrhythmia, I take Eliquis, half of what the doctor says. I also do KATTSU to get my heart in sink. I do not take the other Rx garbage that makes you feel like you have been run over by a Mack Truck. Roy, read my posts because I have my own set of drums. Some love me, most do not. Guess what though, I still around and most others are gone. My problem now is facial skin cancer the I have dealt with all my adult life as a Gardner. I treat it with BEC 5 Curaderm. Got an appointment in Nov with my Dermatologist in case I fail. The 100 pulse thing is BS. Get concerned when it gets to 180 and 8 drops or Cayenne Extract in a 1/3 glass of warm water will not bring it down. Then go to the ER, because you do have a problem. I use doctors as consultants because I study the subject more than they. I usually know more than they. It's a sheeple thing.

Hi ORH –

I imagine you have heard about the Zeta Potential. Based on the research of a chemist, Thomas M. Riddick, Dr. T.C. McDaniel applied the concepts to cardiovascular disease (he was his own guinea pig). He wrote a book called “Disease Reprieve – Living into the Golden Years” (1999). He died at the age of 102 – so something must have worked!

https://zetaaid.com/pages/about-dr-tc-mcdaniel

According to Dr. McDaniel, “Once plasma electrolytes are balanced, blood pressure will come down, circulation will improve, and arrhythmias will disappear.” He talks about the importance of the “electric force” in health.

Zeta Aid is the result of his findings. While he would use IVs when he was working with patients, the potassium/electrolyte combination is now available in powder form.

Zeta Aid Crystal ingredients: A proprietary blend of food grade Potassium compounds. Dr. T.C. McDaniel's primary areas of treatment: blood clots, high blood pressure, circulatory disorders, arrhythmia, kidney stones, peripheral vascular diseases, chronic fatigue, Crohn's Disease.

I have no idea if it works (I can be quite gullible at times) but it is relatively cheap ($20 for a three-week supply). It might be something to check out.

Here is another site on Zeta Potential (the bit about Dr. McDaniel is under the section “Disease Reprieve”) although the whole article is quite interesting.

https://biomedx.com/edu/the-story-of-zeta-potential-3/

If you want more medical detail, Thomas Riddick wrote “Control of Colloid Stability through Zeta Potential” in 1968. There is some of his information on this old site:

Take care.

My Hubs had this, had 8 places that had to be repaired in his heart. The surgery is preformed by a physician specially trained in the electric circuitry of the heart. Recovery has taken 3 full years, is in Normal Sinus Rhythm now.

While waiting for surgery he had a very low blood pressure and heart rate often to 120. He got some relief by soaking feet 2x a week in epsom salt/magnesium water. Magnesium deficiency will increase irregularity.... Arrhythmia is caused by an "electrical short" in the conduction of electricity in the heart. If anyone had an ablation, you need to have one to repair the new places that sometimes occur.25% of all ablation surgeries need some touch-up surgery to correct malfunctions.

One other cause of arrhythmia is a cervical vertebrae that is out of alignment. if you have a tender spot in neck around the cervical 5-6, ...it caused arrhythmia on me. I put it back in alignment by putting ellbows on high chest(to remove stress off vertebrae, and rotated head slowly in small circles.. )
