Hi Becci,

See my other post in reply to the question about ACV thinning the blood. My wife and I have been taking ACV for about a year with great benefit. I wonder where we get it from?? From an excellent Cider Mill in Devon!! Surprise, Surprise

where to buy apple cider vinegar in england:

i live in england and heard about the apple cider vinegar diet so i went online. i found out that you can go to holland and barrets for the pills. go to tesco's or morrisins for the actual vinegar. both are meant to work extremely well. with the pills read the label. with the vinegar take it with a glass of water after breakfast, after lunch and before bed. take the very minute after eating it will work better. in the water place two tablespoons of vinegar in the glass with the water.

thank you
i hope this helps

Lucianne, Tescos and Morrisons don't stock Organic ACV with "Mother". What ACV are you taking?

hi, my name is sabina and I have just discovered this site. Infact I have read as many posts as I could. I am really impressed with the number of people who use this site. I was diagnosed with RA about 2 months ago. I firstly refused to take the drugs but my pain just kept on increasing, so I am taking naproxen and sulpsalazine and to an extent i do feel less stiffness, BUT I want to try an alternative method. I went out and brought an organic apple cyder vinegar and an organic honey but upon further reading I keeping hearing about this "mother" that should be in the cyder vinegar. Does any one know where in Leicester or even in the UK, I can get the cyder vinegar( which has the mother) and is it important to have the "mother" in the ACV? furthermore as far as I understand, I should start with 2 teaspoon in 8oz of water three times a day, is that correct. I would be grateful if EC can respond or if any one else has any ideas. Thank you so much.

EC: No worries, most organic acv should have "the mother" in it. If it has sediment at the bottom of the bottle, it has the mother.

I had trouble finding ACV with "mother" initially too. I'd say your best bet is to try any independent health shops in your area, chain health shops don't seem to sell the real thing. That's how I found it originally, but I now buy online. Just search for "apple cider vinegar with mother" and select UK only sites.

If you Google Cider Vinegar you will find at least two sites in the UK. One in Somerset and the one in North Devon which I use. To buy just 1 bottle is quite expensive because of postage costs. I therefore buy 5 Ltrs either in bottles or Wine Bag type containers then share it with family and friends.Hope this helps.

I used to buy an organic cider in Leicester from the big Asda in Oadby, it wasn't there own brand, was an independant company but now for some reason they have stopped stocking it and only sell their own brand which isn't organic. This organic one also had the mother at the bottom, but now im not sure where to buy it? Where did you find the organic ACV in Leicester, Sabina?

Hi - only discovered this site today as was looking for something natural for my cat - the Holland & B stuff is not the correct one as it does not contain the "mother" element. I have just ordered a very reasonable priced litre bottle (you could choose plastic or glass) and even with postage it wins hands down as to price. The site was called bobbyshealthyshop.co.uk

Whole Foods carries an unpasturized & unfiltered organic ACV with the beneficial "mother".

Like yoghurt, without a "Mother" and a "Father" you cannot multiply vinegar. So no need to make a broadcast if the apple vinegar is from 100% pure apple juice. If each batch produced does not differ in colour, then colouring stabilisers are added which is not indicated in the labels. Each apple crop from different trees/locations produce different colours and also differ based on soil condition, climate, elevation, crop harvesting, time from picking and processing, etc. The word "organic" is also abused by manufacturers and distributors.
