I can't speak for everyone, obviously, but the eczema on my arms returns when I drink milk or eat ice cream.

I had severe eczema growing up. The things that I have found to be best for me over the more than 20 years.....reduction in milk, cheese and yogurt - definitely!...Eucerin Original Cream - if I don't use this cream I can gently run my nails over my skin and produce dry skin. if you have very dry skin this cream is great....oatmeal baths.... and sunlight in a dry climate. I use to live in a humid climate in the summer and it was horrible. Well good luck everyone

I had been wheat-free for 7 months and my gas, acid-reflux and psoriasis went away. When you are on a wheat-free diet, it can cause other problems like constipation if you do not watch your fiber intake. I am now off the wheat-free diet and all has returned. I will be going back on the wheat-free diet ASAP.

I've been going out of my mind tonight with several large patches of what look like eczema on my face. They've been itching like crazy. When I read about Emu Oil for Eczema at Earth Clinic, I remembered that I had a bottle of emu oil. Almost instantly after applying it, the itch stopped. INCREDIBLE!!!

I have tried everything for the eczema on my face. Nothing seemed to help altho it would come and go on it's own. I tried Emu oil last night and the eczema is almost gone. Already the itching, redness, raw-ness is much, much better. I got the oil at my local health food store but I think you can get it online.

I suffer from eczema only in summers with very hot weather. The eczema develops at the area over my ankles. I tried putting an Epsom salt solution three times a day on the area for one week. The relief was temporary, the itching many times subsided but not the redness and didn't have a steady improvement though days.

Alex,

You might give over the counter 1% Clotrimazole cream to try to determine if it is fungal or some other cause. If 1% Clotrimazole clears it or helps considerably, it is likely fungal.

I read somewhere that Epsom salt baths would cure eczema. My secretary has a friend who has a kid who suffers with it really bad, to the point he doesn't sleep well because of it. After I mentioned it to her, the friend tried it and she was floored with the results. It began clearing up very quickly and he has been sleeping very well lately. Another friend tried it with great results. People are simply amazed at the results.

I recently had a mild flare up of eczema and while I was at the pharmacy looking for relief I was told by a woman that she was completely cured of her eczema with evening primrose oil. I bought the creme and I bought evening primrose. I decided to see what the EP would do so I didn't use the creme. the first week I noticed a marked improvement, to my amazement the second week even the worst patches were gone. I don't know why it worked but it did. Sara

Eczema probably stems from a variety of reasons, and I think one of those reasons is TAPE WORMS. Many people have them and don't even know it, so I believe if you get rid of the tape worm, your skin will clear up. I have not tried ACV for eczema, but I take fish oil pills and they work just fine. It's not a cure but it remedies the problem until I stop taking the pills for a while. I had eczema since 22 and I am 33 now. Hope this helps.

Fish oil also known as cod oil makes the biggest difference in my skin condition. I take a spoon full daily and it either completely heals my skin or dramatically reduces the amount of eczema as well as the redness, bumps, itchiness, etc... As a side note, Fish oil is also good for your hair and nails as well.

My eighteen year old daughter has struggled with eczema outbreaks almost non-stop since she was just a wee thing. Her arms were broken out so badly that she would actually wear long sleeves on hot, summer days because she was embarrassed.

In addition to steroid creams prescribed by her dermatologist, we have tried every product (and combination of products) known to man for over a decade - special soaps, lotions, creams - you name it, we've tried it. None of it worked. At best, it offered a bit of calming, but the large patches of skin eruptions remained.

In my determination to rid her, or even just ease her of this troublesome and embarrassing affliction, I continued to research and continued to try different methods.

I am beyond excited to report that I found a combination that actually works! It has been over a month and her skin has never looked better! She is blissfully happy, and I am so happy for her.

Deep down, I always felt that treatment from the inside-out would be most effective. In my research travels, I came across an article suggesting exactly that - that "good health begins in the gut" and cited eczema as one of the ailments that could be "cured" with probiotics.

I bought some quality probiotics but after a month, we didn't see any improvement. For the heck of it, I had her eat a small container of vanilla yogurt every day and I had her take a fish oil capsule with her breakfast and again before bed. The combination worked! :) I can't believe it. After all these years, all of the remedies tried, not to mention, the thousands of dollars spent - yogurt and fish oil every day did the trick and she is finally free of it!

She joked that I should win the Nobel Prize for curing eczema (hahaha). :) I'm not sure it would be a cure for everyone, but given my daughters amazing results, it is absolutely something you should try. I hope your results are equally amazing.

Hi Kelly,

The fish oil capsules I used were nothing fancy. I, personally, have tried the pricier fish oils that come in glass bottles, but it's been my experience that they don't work any better than the inexpensive ones.

I use Nature Made 1,000mg fish oil capsules--two capsules per day. You can find that brand at any of the large chains. The vanilla yogurt was Activia brand--also available pretty much anywhere.

(I've been around EC long enough that I think I can mention brand names without anyone thinking I'm trying to 'pimp' products. ;-)

Hope this combination works as well for you as it did for my daughter!

I love this site! I recently tried cold pressed flaxseed oil on my eczema which was around my mouth, nose and eyes. As soon as it touched my sore skin I knew it was the right thing I was doing. I had tried so many creams over the years, but this worked! I applied the flaxseed oil in the morning and in the evening before bed time. I also drank 2 tablespoons daily. I can't believe it was this simple! A footnote would be to mention that because the eczema is worse in the winter I took a vitamin D supplement - I figured that my body could use it as we don't get much winter sun where I live.

2 weeks later since starting this treatment and it has almost all gone. I can finally leave the house!

BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS

Hello,

I just wanted to write and let you know what I used to cure my eczema. I developed an allergy-induced eczema on my legs when I started trying to eat dairy again (I knew I had been allergic before but thought I might have grown out of it). I quit eating the dairy after a few months, after developing a nasty case of eczema. It cleared up somewhat, but never completely went away for almost four years. It was especially bad on my inner thighs, and I would scratch it at night and it would bleed and get sores. I had to go on very strong steroids and antibiotics for it several times.

Then, this year I bought some cinnamon flavored flax oil (COLD PRESSED), at the health food store in the refrigerator section. I started taking 1 or 2 tablespoons a day. Usually I would take one in the morning and another at night. I noticed after about a week that my eczema was looking and feeling much smoother, and by the end of three weeks it was COMPLETELY gone. I couldn't believe it, and I couldn't believe I had suffered with it so long when the remedy was so easy.

I continued to take the flax oil for a few months, but I noticed it also had a side effect for me. I am a 26-year-old female and, the flax oil at that dose made my periods come much closer together, sometimes only two weeks apart. So I stopped taking the flax oil, and they went back to normal.

Now I am taking canola oil and another oil mix that is high in omega-3 acids, and the eczema has not returned. I think it was the high dose of omega 3-s that cured me, but maybe it was also something specific to the flax oil? I always ate quite a bit of fish, and that didn't seem to help any (which is also high in omega 3's). Anyway, if I start having any problems with eczema again I will know what to do. An extra monthly cycle or two is definitely worth clearing have clear eczema-free skin!!!!

So true about answers can come from God in a dream. Happened for me with eczema on my fingers. It started from expressing anger over neighbors who kept bullying my family. Long story short, besides working through the emotions, what came to me one night was to use geranium essential oil along with the other plant based items I was using. After two nights of using it w gloves and sleeping it worked!

I have suffered from eczema for 6 years. I cut out all wheat and anything with gluten in it from my diet and my eczema cleared up within 3 weeks. I have been completely clear for more than two months now. In my case it looks like I had a sensitivity to gluten that manifested itself in the form of eczema. Now if I eat anything with gluten/wheat in it, I get these fine red pimples in the form of a rash on my hands or ankles. This happens within a couple of hours of eating.
