[YEA]  I am very grateful for all the posts that described treatments for aiding with the passing of a kidney stone. I believe they have guided my recovery this weekend.

Briefly, here is what happened. On Friday, my husband and I enjoyed a frozen pizza which must have been defrosted and refrozen, because about one hour after dinner, we both started having symptoms of food poisoning. My symptoms were more severe than my husband's and lasted past midnight. At about 1:30 am , we decided to go to the Emergency Room at the hospital because of my vomiting and sharp abdominal pains, which were as strong as any of the labor pains I experienced giving birth to our three daughters!

At the hospital, the doctor insisted on having a CAT scan done on me to confirm the presence of kidney stones. There was a 4 mm stone that had exited the left kidney. She had the nurse give me IV for pain and hydration and a capsule of Flomax "to enlarge the urethra. " I was dismissed at 6 a. M. with prescriptions for three medications (Tamsulosin (to enlarge the urethra), Hydrocodone (for pain), and Ondansetron (for nausea).

By 8 am I was online looking for alternative ways to handle the passing of a kidney stone and that is how I found this site. Thank Goodness! I began drinking large glasses of distilled water w/35 drops of Chanca Piedra every 4 hours; 4 large glasses of distilled water w/2 oz. of [organic] Apple Cider Vinegar, a large mug of horsetail tea; 3 oz. of organic pure lemon juice before bedtime on Saturday night.

I wrapped my lower back and abdomen w/a heating pad and kept it on low heat until this morning. Having recently read Ilchi Lee's Brain Wave Vibration, I tried to keep my body from staying too still for any length of time, since I did not want to inhibit the flow of chi.The Complete System of Self-Healing Internal Exercises, and did the "Kidney Exercise" as described on pages 151-152 (Rub the hands together vigorously to get the energy flowing in the palms and fingers; Place your palms on the small of your back. Keep your upper body tilted slightly forward. Feel the energy and heat flowing from your hands into your back and kidneys; Massage the small of your back by rubbing up and down and then in a circular motion across your back; Clench your fingers together to form two fists and hit the small of your back with the back of your hands. Pummel the area softly for a few seconds; repeat the rubbing and pummeling action for a total of three times).

I also did some FasterEFT (http://fastereft.com./), repeating "I release and let go of this kidney stone" as I tapped on the four places indicated by its creator, Robert Smith (see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=arZypEakfD4&feature=relmfu for a sample video).

I did not take ANY of the medications prescribed by the doctor.

This morning I passed the stone painlessly!

The doctor had instructed me to take the stone to a certain Urologist who will analyze it and give me medications which I may have to be on for the rest of my life to "prevent" further stones from developing. But, given that the doctor told me not to be concerned about the radiation exposure from the CAT scan because of my age (66), I can skip the Urologist appointment and the analyses (it's never just one lab test, and the bills keep coming for years, don't they?).

I will drink a daily dose of ACV!

Hi there. I wanted to reply to your post as I too had a sudden bout of what I believed to have been a "kidney Stone' attack just recently. I was actually bent over, bathing our dog out in the yard, and when I went to straighten up, I had a sharp, knife-like pain shoot across my lower back that practically crippled me immediately. I couldn't straighten up! I thought I had pulled a muscle, maybe it was a muscle spasm, I turned the wrong way, etc. That may have caused this pain. I managed to make it into the house. I was bent over in pain and miserable for most of the morning. Finally, an hour or so later after resting and using a heating pad on my back - I was still in excruciating pain! I knew I had to do something - It was either head over to the emergency room or head over to my PC for a trip to... Earth Clinic.

I hooked up with Earth Clinic first to search for a solution to my back pain. There it was... My answer hopefully -... Presuming that is, if what I had was indeed a kidney stone, (but then I thought - what would it hurt to follow through with the ACV/lemon juice protocol, if it wasn't). The stuffs not gonna kill me! I figured if the ACV/lemon juice didn't work, then I had nothing to lose. I would then go to the docs and get checked out. I had some ACV and lemon juice in the kitchen cabinet and.... Wammo - after about twenty minutes of taking a shot glass full of ACV and a shot of lemon juice, the back pain had almost disappeared. I still had a slight, dull achy kind of pain in that area, but nothing like what I had prior to. I could now even get ready and go to work! I had planned on calling in but the pain had subsided to the point of functioning normally so I went on to work.

Throughout the next few days I downed the ACV and lemon juice like a patient following their doctors orders to take their medicine as prescribed. With-in four or five days, my back pain was completely gone!! Even as I write this now - I have NO back pain! Thank you Earth clinic for your remedies.

My suggestion - always check here before opting for other health measures (non life-threatening of course). I might mention here as well that I have had a dull and constant back pain probably for several years now that I thought I would have to live with the rest of my life. But - I'm thinkin'... It could have been stones forming even then. Although, the things that I thought were healthy for me may have contributed to my lower back pain and maybe... Stones were lodged somewhere in my lower back area all this time. I had lost some weight lately, which could have played a factor; And I have been eating a lot of salads - lettuce is a contributor; I am vegetarian; I eat a lot of almonds and nuts; And, I was drinking a lot of iced tea this past summer ( Did you know that this is the number one catalyst to forming kidney stones). Anyways, it could have been a number of things that contributed to my back pain, but the best thing is I DO NOT have any back pain at all now! Thank you again Earth Clinic. I will continue drinking my little concoction of ACV/lemon juice every morning from here on out. Remember, a shot of ACV a day - helps keep the doctor away!!!!

P.S. I had gone to the doctor since then for some of my womenly check-ups and I had asked her how I would be able to tell if I had passed kidney stones without even knowing if I had or not? She mentioned that my urine would have been kind of frothy and more bubbly, and that it may be more yellow than normal, and you could probably see some sand-like grit (the kidney stone breaking apart) in your urine. Well, I saw all the above during my ACV protocol. Just so you'd know....

[YEA]  So my contractions for a kidney stone started 3 years ago in the middle of turkey day dinner. One ambulance and thousands of dollars later I gave birth to a 2mm stone.

Started feeling the same symptoms this November, so I researched how to "remedy" situation naturally. The Lemon juice/olive oil helped a lot, and right away. A week passed, and the symptoms of pain etc. were back. I then added Castor oil packs to my routine. Again, it helped right away... Then the symptoms returned. I then went to Vitamin Cottage and bought the ONLY kidney stone remedy they had available. The symptoms went away immediately and have not returned. Three weeks out and feeling grateful.

[YEA]  Starting on 1/1/10 I drank 2 oz of lemon juice w. 2 oz extra virgin olive oil 2 times per day for 3 days in a row...it relieved the symptoms of a 4 mm kidney stone stuck in my urethra. I also drank alot of lemon juice in water for 9 days...I passed the kidney stone painlessly that looked about the size of 3/4 of a grain of rice on the morning of the ninth day.

I also supplemented my diet with B6 complex and magnesium as I had read that a body lacking in these things creates kidney stones. I will continue to use alot of lemon juice in my water and drink watered down lemonade as I still have 3 more stones to pass.

I would also like to add that I drank alka-seltzer at times when I felt the lemon juice was wearing off and the urgency to urinate came back as that would offer some releif. Be sure when drinking alot of water to give your body enough salt because I did have a problem with ear ringing which I attributed to not enough salt.

I also quit drinking coffee, all sweets and dairy products during this cleansing process. I ate just oatmeal w.molasses & banana for breakfast, homemade & canned soups for lunch & dinner, oranges & apples.

I started the olive oil/lemon juice on Tues. Started using caster oil pack with a heating pad over the lower abdomen last night. Also watermelon seed tea....2 cups worth. After an hour I was able to urinate freely. Today was terrible. Had the burning sensation in the penis and urge to urinate all day long. After I got home from work it was almost unbearable. I was convinced I was blocked up and may have to go to the hospital. I drank 2 cups of watermelon seed tea and put the oil pack on. About an hour later the burning in my penis became quite uncomfortable, became totally excruciating for about 5 seconds, then completely vanished. The stone is now in my bladder! What a relief! Be sure the caster oil is cold pressed and cold processed.

[YEA]   Update.....there was no stone in my bladder. Screening my urine revealed the stone had been dissolved into a fine powder. I don't know if it was a combination of the 2 treatments, but if I had to choose only one, I would go with the caster oil/heating pad. I was able to urinate freely withing 45 minutes of the first oil pack treatment and the stone dissolved the next night 75 minutes into the oil pack treatment.

[YEA]   Tee from NYC, but after having another kidney stone attack with the terrible pain I decided to search the net and came upon this great site followed the positive responses, polished off a small bottle of apple cider vinegar and also had a little olive oil with lemon juice and within hours the pain went down, urine flow was clear and normal, by the next day I was pain free. Thanks all, I'm now a convert to natural home remedies.

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED]  TWO WEEKS AGO - I WENT TO THE DOCTOR AND AFTER EX-RAYS; I FOUND OUT I HAVE LARGE KIDNEY STONE IN THE LEFT KIDNEY. MY BACK AND STOMACH HAS BEEN HURTIN ALL SUMMER; FOR 3 MONTHS.

I WENT ON THIS WEB SITE; AND TWO WEEKS AGO; I STARTED DRINKING THE REMEDY WITH 3 OZ'S OF APPLE CIDER VINGAR. THEN THE NEXT MORNING I DRINK THE OTHER MIX OF 2 OZ. OF VIRGIN OLIVE OIL AND 2 OZ. OF LEMON JUICE. I DRANK THIS MIXIER; 3 TIMES A DAY; FOR THREE DAYS. I GAVE UP ON THE VINGAR MIX.

I ALSO WENT TO THE HERBAL STORE AND I BOUGHT A BOTTLE OF "STONE FREE" AND A BOTTLE OF MAGNINESEIUM AND A BOTTLE OF B6 PILLS; AND OF ALSO SOME ALFAHA PILLS. I THEN WAITED TWO/THREE DAYS AND WENT FOR A LONG WALK AT LUNCH AND THEN AT 12:00 P.M.; LUNCH TIME; THE STONE STARTED PASSING. THE STONE FINALLY PASSED BY 6 OR 8 THAT NITE. I'M NOT FOR SURE WHEN IT PASSED INTO THE BLADDER; BECAUSE I WAS ASLEEP; AFTER TAKING SOME PAIN PILLS.

BUT, NOW MY PROBLEM IS THAT ITS BEEN A ONE WEEK; AND THE KIDNEY STONE IS STILL STUCK IN MY BLADDER. IS THERE ANY IDEAS; OUT THERE; TO GET THIS STONE COMPLETELY OUT OF MY SYSTEM? THANKS, STEVE K.

STEVE K. ....... Folks in this part of Tn drink massive amounts of apple juice for a week before taking the Olive Oil and lemon juice. This softens the kidney stones which are easily broken up on passage. I got no clue if apple juice will do the same in your bladder, but what have you got to lose. This is apple juice and not ACV.

[YEA]  Husband collapsed working on property roof--back pain, right away we found your equal parts lemon juice + olive oil with water-chaser. His pain was immobilizing, he was panicking. I squeezed 1 lemon got 2oz juice, blended in 2oz olive oil with egg-whisk. Took maybe 10 stirs, just like making salad dressing. He downed it while our young son and I cheered him thru. Pain so bad, we decided to go to Emerg Rm. But, drank another lemon/oil/water before leaving. ER's CT Scan showed 2mm stone. He drove home 3 hours later, took another lemon/oil/water. Wow! ER pain pills were little help, but he drank mixture 2 more times, each drink one on return home from ER, last before bed, were 1 to 2 oz lemon with matching olive oil, followed by large glass water. Next day his appetite was near 0. So morning drink again, 4 hours later drank again. He stayed home from work, and with each pain-free elimination, felt better. On 3rd day (ER day, next day, now 3rd day), he drank morning + lunch drink with medium appetite, now adding 1 tsp honey with both drinks. In bathroom, despite pain worries, no pain, no clumps, just greyish fluid when using bathroom - _no pain_ ever with any bathroom uses. At day 5, was again eliminating pain-free, with some fine gritty/dusty specks in bowl. How could that be pain free? Hooray! Dr follow up exam was 3rd day, we told him and another doctor. Both said keep it up. My dr never heard of it, so he is a new believer. So many people have appreciated this info from us, from you. We KNOW you prevented a surgery!

Olive Oil and Lemon Juice Recipes   4  0

[YEA]  My aunt told me to check out this site for the kidney stone recipe. After 3 months of battling a stuck kidney stone, the urologist decided to do a lithoscopy. About a week before the procedure I drank the 3oz lemon juice/3 oz olive oil mixture- 2 days in a row. The second day I felt some cramping and had some bloody urine, but did not feel the kidney stone pass. I continued to drink fresh lemon juice for a few days. I went to have the procedure a few days later and the Dr did not do the lithoscopy as there did not appear to be a kidney stone. He scoped up into the kidney and injected dye- NO kidney stone. I wish I had done this sooner. I am convinced it really works!!! Thank you!

[YEA]  This is what worked for me. In a blender mix 10 oz cooked canned asparagus, 4 oz lemon juice, 4 oz olive oil, add distilled water until drinkable. Drink all of this with two Ibuprofen and 2 liters of distilled water. Repeat every 4 hours. My personal results were pain stopped after about 2 hours, after the fourth dose of this awful tasting mixture I passed some nasty sludge and small gravel and the stone was gone. I've suffered this condition for 6 years, about two stones per year, the largest was 11mm for which I was hospitalized and the average is 6mm. This works and has saved my sanity, I now have a solution other than crying and bargaining with God. Good luck.

I am at the beginning of the kidney stone saga. I don't have pain, but have blood and protein in my urine which I hoped would go away for months. An ultrasound confirmed a kidney stone and I had a CT today to further identify it and its location. I am going to try the 2 oz lemon jiuce/2 oz olive oil and see if it works. I wonder if the lemon jiuce has to be the concentrated kind you get in the little plastic lemons, from a lemon, or lemonade. Can someone clue me in?

Thanks!

To Vicki from Thousand Oaks, Ca, Usa: To answer your question on lemon juice, you MUST use real juice direct rom a real lemon. Believe me, I have tried both while following the daily regime of lemon juice with water daily to prevent further stones. I used the juice from 1 lemon each morning for years without any issues. However one time when my regular store was out of lemons I tried the bottled variety I had a return of kidney stones within a few weeks.

By the way, blood and protein in your urine is a lot more serious than just kidney stones. I never experienced either. I suggest you look at ways of taking better care of those kidneys before more serious complications arise.

I would consider this very seriously.

[YEA]  Back in 1991 and living in Miami, Florida, I had the most excruciating pain caused by kidney stones and confirmed by medical examination. While the doctors monitored the movement of the stones and contemplated surgery I was keeling over from pain and sweating from d bad feelings. While they took their sweet time, I researched and found the remedy of 3 oz lemon juice, 3 oz virgin olive oil and the added magnesium supplement (a must) to dissolve the stones and then sleep on the right side. In 2 days the pain was gone - no surgery and no stone on the doctors imaging system. No more reoccourence of stones. Happy in New Jersey

[YEA]  I just read all the comments yeas and nays and maybes. Need to do the 3 oz of extra virgin olive oil (VCO) and 3 oz of lemon juice and drink 10 oz water every hour, and take the oil and lemon juice THREE time s day. Drink large glass of water before bed and when you get up. And lay on the opposite side of kidney pain when you sleep. Worked for my son in 24 hours, no pain when it passed.

Olive Oil, Hydranga, Marshmallow Root, Low Oxalate Diet   1  0

Posted by Gina (Seattle, Washington) on 07/04/2007

[YEA]  Olive Oil worked on my current kidney stones,, I mean I believe it flushed everything out and I also took Natures Sunshine, Hydranga,,4 capsules 3 times a day with food.any Hydranga brand will probably work. Also marshmellow root helps, plus a gallon a day of water with 1 cup lemon juice, that dissolved the stones in about a week..Hydranga dissolves all type of stones. But I also think that everyone out there should wikipedia, the LOW OXALATE DIET. It confirms what doctors are now saying. That foods high in Oxalate content cause kidney stones. This is from the University of Pittsburgh, Medical Center. I find that when I do eat the foods that are low in Oxalates I have no kidney pain. Luck to all

Orange Juice   1  0

Posted by Chuck (Rockford, Il) on 12/18/2011

[YEA]  I posted here previously about how baking soda worked for my kidney stones by alkalinizing my urine so that it would dissolve my stones that formed in acidic urine.

Maybe about a month after I got rid of my kidney stones with baking soda, I experienced that dull ache in my lower pelvis again. I thought about using baking soda again, but I didn't like the taste of baking soda so I decided to try something new.

I then found that orange juice also had an alkalinizing effect on the urine, but it is not as strong as baking soda or lemon juice. Because I hated the taste of lemon juice and baking soda, I decided to give orange juice a try. My thinking was that I enjoyed the taste of orange juice, I knew for a fact it didn't have any side effects (at least for me), and if it failed I could always go back to baking soda.

Knowing OJ was weaker than baking soda and lemon juice at alkalinizing urine, I drank about 3 cups of orange juice a day. By the second or third day I felt the ache move down and that night my urine split into a dual stream (presumably from the stone passing). By the next day my ache was gone! I drink orange juice every day now.

Daniel from Boston here. I have kidney stones and a decreased level of kidney filtrations. My health professional suggested for me to use Barron's Kidneys formula, containing, among others, chanca piedra. Does anyone have experience with this formula? Please reply. Thanks.

Parsley Tea   1  0

Posted by Brian (Collingdale, Pennsylvania) on 11/11/2008

[YEA]  Another potential cure.

My wife has had kidney stones since before I met her. The first one she had (with the excruciating pain!) was the size of a mothball and was on an xray and was diagnosed on a friday. They were going to do either a cat scan or an mri (I never remember) on the following monday to get a better ideal on what she had.

She went online and found multiple instances of parsley and parsley tea, so she made a big pot of tea using three bunches of flat leaf italian parsley. She drank it over the weekend and by monday she was pain free.
When she had the test done, they couldn't find anything and kept going back and forth between the xray and the latest scan and also asking her name to verify the xray. They told her that there must have been dirt on the xray and she asked what the pain was that she had then.

She then told them what she had done and after being confused and saying that it couldn't have helped, they basically told her that she was not telling the truth, Since then, she has had kidney stone type pain and each time she has done parsley tea and in a couple of days she is pain free.

And since a dozen years ago I had a kidney stone (8mm) and had lithotripsy to get rid of it, I will do parsley tea if I ever have kidney stone pain again I will drink a lot of parsley tea.

Parsley, Asparagus, Lemon Juice   1  0

Posted by Paul (Monona Wi) on 09/26/2013

[YEA]  This recipe worked for me to dissolve a large kidney stone stuck in the right ureter just above the bladder and allowed me to avoid surgery:

  • 1 cup fresh parsley
  • 2 cans (14. 5 oz each) cut asparagus rinsed in colander to remove canning salt
  • 2 cups real lemon juice
  • Sweetener to taste

Puree all ingredients in blender until liquified.

Drink the entire contents through a straw as soon as possible.

Hey Paul: That's a good recipe for knocking out the kidney stones... The key is the lemon juice and I like your addition of asperagus. Probably the asperagus is helpful because it becomes very slick when wet so as the "slick" part is going thru the kidney and the acid from the lemon is cutting the edges of the stone, the stone is then able to move. Similar is a recipe that uses Lemon juice with olive oil. Same idea.

I've used just the lemon juice (six a day, spread thru the day) one half lemon in glass of water/meaning you drink 12 glasses of water with one half lemon juice in each glass. That is repeated over ten to fourteen days. My stones usually pass in two to four days. I use fresh lemons by the way but once when I didn't have access used lime juice in a plastic container in the frig. That works too.

But I like the idea of adding a "slickening" agent; oil or asperagus.
