09/11/2012: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: The common boils are due to staphylococcus, this means you have to kill it with either tea tree oil applied topically, and by resolving constipation. I define constipation as having bowel movements twice a day, whenever is less than that the body's ability to get rid of toxins is limited. The other is to take bromelain internally perhaps four times a day of the capsule on an empty stomach this helps increase the circulation on the face. Taking plenty of vitamin C and E, will help healing at 500 mg four times a day of vitamin C, and vitamin E 200 iu, to help healing of the boils. Colloidal silver may also help by making a spray and taking some internally.
The problem about diabetes is it is measured with 12 hour fasting, unfortunately most people with developing diabetes and hypoglycemia are not included in this test. If the standards for diagnosing diabetes is not over 110 mg/dL, the ones creating the standards are flawed if most of the population in that country is obese. I based mine on not over 90 mg/dL, and I expect that the average is to be 85 mg/dL as the highest after two hours after eating. You are likely to have immune system problems if it is over 90 mg/dL. In fact it is preferable to have a reading of 85 mg/dL one hour after eating. The immune system is considered wishy wash if it goes over this.
Most boils are caused by developing staphylococcus as the immune system is not good under the rules I set above, and neither is getting below 2 bowel movements a day any good. And blood sugar always goes high whenever food is consumed after 5.30 pm and sweet foods are consumed before 12 noon. Those times are when the immune system needs MINIMUM sugar especially after 5.30 pm. It is consumed during those times the immune system shuts down and staphyloccus takes over.
Assuming you passed the above test, there is another. Fatty foods block the capillary circulation to the face, especially trans fat, which is found mostly in cakes and anything prepared using supermarket vegetable oils, especially no fried foods of any kind, no cheese, no chocolate and anything that is greasy. As a demonstration, if vegetable oil is allowed to oxidized at summer heat in one month, you get glue, and these clog up the circulatory system.
Assuming you passed all tests and you have already considered that, another is taking water of 2 glasses DURING MEALS, which helps the digestion in that it doesn't clog up the system. and evens out the blood sugar by dilution during meals, as blood sugar always spikes during these times, which turns of your immune system.
Finally addressing the deficiency usually people with intestinal problems have such as vitamin D, vitamin A, and B12 are essential for the small intestines and helps maintain intestinal health and glutathione precursor, such as N acetyl cysteine 250 mg x 2, and lysine 1000 mg x 3 helps improve the skin as well as help clear out the toxins. Granulated lecithin of one tablespoon that is de-oiled helps prevent fatty liver and helps clear out blocked circulation so the immune system takes over. The other is minerals related to selenium, which is 200 mcg x 2 or x 3 times will also help in clearing the blood debris by helping support the liver.
Finally the most important is to get zinc in your system, which is also considered anti bacterial such as zinc acetate 25 mg. And always get your vinegar facial wash if the face is oily. by dissolving the facial oils. In fact a vitamin A and zinc deficiency makes the face oily as an indication also, which clogs up the pores, and it creates havoc on the face too.
09/14/2012: E replies: Ted, Thank you so much for taking the time to reply to me. It couldn't have come at a better time. I received your e-mail just as I came out of an appointment with the dermatologist. All they wanted to do is put me on pills. He said its cystic acne. Point blank. And wouldn't listen to anything else I had to say. As roaccutane caused me terrible side effects after just 6 weeks, he said - its plan B, antibioics for 3 months and a topical solution. I won't be going to pick up that prescrption, I don't think my body can take anymore antibiotics. So, as if by fate I think it is time for me to try the natural route and see if it has any benefits out there for me. I have tried a few multi-vitamins in my time, but never really stuck to anything for a long period of time, and probably never enough time to notice a considerable difference. So if you wouldn't mind helping me just a little more, I will then leave you be. To clarify, my bowell movements. They are not that great, and am constipated a lot of the time. At best I go once a day, sometimes it is more like 2 days before I go. I don't know if this will be relevant, I forgot to mention before I have pretty bad circulation in my hands and feet, my feet the most. As soon as it goes cold, my feet really play up and I have had chillblains in my toes a few times. When I visit a hot country, I get the opposite, very fat swollen feet.
I do have a little bit of a sweet tooth, for chocolate mostly, but if I have to keep this to a minimum or eat it before 5.30pm if I do I have any, it is a very little price to pay. The itchy, spotty, dry, flaky scalp is a new thing that has developed over the last 4 months, can't help thinking it might have something to do with the amount of antibiotics I have had so far this year. I had quite a lot of hairfall before then, I would say my hair has thinned all over, but since I have had the scalp condition, the hairfall has increased dramatically. I did try teatree - 4 drops and lavendar 1 drop with some extra virgin olive oil left on overnight - twice now, but it hasn't relieved the itching at all. I also tried ACV 1/12 cup with 1/6 cup water left on for an hour- twice now, but this hasn't helped either. I don't know if I am using the correct amounts?? Would I also benefit from using ACV or tea tree as a toner for prevention of the boils on my face?? I am ready and waiting to clarify my list of items to collect from the local health store. Sorry to go on, but it is so nice to talk to someone who wants to help. After 9 years of going through facial boils it is exciting to think I might be able to find something that works and will enable to to get married next year with clear skin. 09/15/2012: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Dear Emma: ACV is always with baking soda, where you add that it tastes a bit like salt water, which is about pH 7.0 is the preferred solution. Take more baking soda in the evening such as 1/4 teaspoon in 1 glass of water at night so it will encourage less constipation from more alkalinity. Adjust your dose based on this health indicator. It also helps if coconut oil is taken 1 to 2 tablespoon a day to encourage regular bowel movements if necessary.
The hairfall is usually caused by a fungus due to deficiencies of urea. So take urea (1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon two times a day internally) or urea may be applied with some water on the head overnight for at least a week. It is also caused by selenium deficiencies and 200 mcg x 3 can be taken in the form of selenium yeast. The fatty liver can be dealt with using granulated lecithin 1 tablespoon twice a day is average. Sodium molybdate and boron are indicated also, as both are antagonistic to yeast fungus such as 10 to 20 mg of sodium molybdate and boron in form of borax such as 100 mg.
09/21/2012: Ann from Tuscaloosa, Alabama replies: I have suffered from cystic acne since the age of 13. My case was diagnosed as severe. In the 1970s, there was very little the doctors could do except prescribe massive amounts of antibiotics. This over prescribing has now led us into a mass of super bugs. One of the most difficult to treat is MRSA and it is now everywhere. As an acne suffer for many years, I have found several things that are beneficial. I first had to learn exactly what cystic acne was and what caused it. I also learned what not to do. It is thought that the digestive system plays a part in cystic acne, as well as fluctuations in hormones. One thing I noticed about my acne, it got worse when I was overweight. If I lost weight the cyst became less numerous. A healthier diet probably played a roll in this, so I recommend a diet with fiberous foods such as whole grains, veggies, and fresh fruit, especially watermelon and oranges. Avoid sugar at all cost, bacteria feeds on sugar and acne cyst are mostly filled with bacteria. Cook with healthy oils such as a good quality Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Drink as much water as possible. It hydrates the skin but more importantly flushes out the bacteria in the pores. Now for the more serious stuff. The cyst are caused by clogged, infected oil ducts. We shed millions of skin cells everyday. In people with oil prone skin, these cells get trapped into the pores and can be on various parts of the body including the behind. Treating any condition from the inside is beneficial, but this conditions requires extensive treatment on the outside. The cyst must be treated directly. I tried many remedies and found a few that worked. Some worked better than others, but we are all different so hopefully one or more of these will work for you.
Manuka Oil aka Leptospermum Scoparium. This treatment has profound anti bacterial properties. Apply to cyst 4 times per day.
I am sure you know about the Apple Cider Vinegar remedies, so I will skip that one.
Combine 3 Tablespoons local pure honey with 1 teaspoon powdered cinnamon to make a paste. Apply to cyst 2 times a day for 15 minutes.
Use pure aloe vera gel to reduce swelling and redness.
Tea Tree oil is also a natural anti bacterial agent. I recommend using the Manuka for two weeks then the tea tree oil for two weeks.
Add vitamins A and E to your daily regime.
Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: Turmeric dose can be increased, although the underlying deficiencies or toxicity which caused your problem in the first place has not been properly addressed.
Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: Yes it is a well known fact that turmeric works great, for most mild cases of boils, but for more agressive one it will work well, only temporary. What surprised me was it worked well for you about 9 months. I would expect it to work only a month or two, and it comes back more agressively. It is that the cause is the body's deficiency in certain minerals, which in this case if quite often magnesium, but also improper alkalinity in which case baking soda.
A longer term remedy against the staph is rather straightforward, but not well known, is the magnesium citrate 250 mg taken a least twice a day, plus the apple cider vinegar two tablespoons plus 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda taken at least 2 times a day. I prefer myself the 1/4 teaspoon of citric acid plus 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda twice a day, or some prefer a more natural route such as 2 tablespoon (about 8 teaspoon) of lime juice or lemon juice plus 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in 1/2 glass of water taken twice a day. The other issue that I think is important is the zinc gluconate (or zinc acetate) 50 mg that I would take twice a week, and then after a month I would pare off to only once a week.
Staph has a major enemy and it is the magnesium and alkalinity which the body has to have in sufficient amount. Iodine is synergistic, which I keep for last in case it is not working well as it should I might consider some iodine foot painting or one to two drop of iodine (usually potassium iodide and/or sodium iodide solution, and lugol's might be acceptable) and those are added to about 1 liter of drinking water taken only once a week. Too much iodine taken too frequently may cause bacterial debris being released in the blood that the body cannot remove quickly enough and can cause acne or itchy skin. At one dose per week, this problem should not happen.
A further improvement may be helpful is the use of topical solution of milk of magnesia with a drop or two of iodine applied to the areas where the boils occur necessary to kill the staph in a specific area, but the use of magnesium supplements plus baking soda is often a better longer term solution."
