[BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS] Earthgood from Austin, Tx, Usa writes: "ACV: Side effects?

After reading about ACV and its benefits, I've tried it with mixed results. Sometimes, I think my skin is looking better and I feel more energetic but at other times(for no other apparent reason), I feel my hair looks really dry and brittle, my skin looks bad. Is this something to do with dosage (I take 2tsp with 8Oz. water once a day), or is there something else I'm missing? Please help!

[SIDE EFFECTS] Edith from Cologne, Germany writes: "Years ago, I always started bleeding after 2 weeks of drinking a teaspoon of ACV with a glass of water.

Last month I decided to try drinking ACV again, with the same dosage and was ok for awhile, actually feeling better than usual. But stopped when my period seemed to be starting.

But now, I have been FLOODING for at least 21 days and it looks like it will go on. I am not sure if this has anything to do with drinking ACV.

Or whether I should start drinking regularly, so the flooding will stop.

Any ideas?"

However, everytime I take it (2 tbl of ACV with plenty of water with food or without food) I get severe stomach pain afterwards. I tried it out at least 6 times over the course of the last 9 months but it is a persistant pattern. Does anybody have an idea why this is and what I can do about it? Thank you!"

[SIDE EFFECTS] Mira from Oshawa, On, Canada writes: "Baking soda and gas

I have been taking backing soda on an empty stomach after reading on this website that it would alkalize my body and get rid of acid reflux.

I am also taking other medication for candida such Godenseal, Pau d'arco, black walnut and spilanthes (all in one pill) and probiotics. After the baking soda or some other time I take 2-3 garlic bulbs on an empty stomach. Other than that I have been taking wheatgrass only for 7 days.

I suspect it is the baking soda that is giving me gas. I could have accused the eggplant dip I am using but I dont think eggplant or other vegetables can give me that much gas.

I almost forgot but I do take some coconut oil about a teaspoon in cayenne pepper and lemon.

I hope someone can tell me the answer.

[SIDE EFFECTS] Janie D from Mattoon, Illinois writes: "I was just wondering if anyone has had severe itching brought on by the use of Apple Cidar Vineger and/or by eating organic honey? Since using the APV and honey (but not at the same time). I have had severe, severe itching of the skin and the scalp. The itching was so bad, I went and had my head checked for lice - I also thought I was suffering from bed bugs since I had been travelling and staying in hotels throughout the summer and perhaps thinking I got a case of bed bugs! We have a dog too so I thought it was from fleas! I was lice free, bug free and flea free but...the itching was driving me crazy! Could it be that I was alergic and was having a reaction to maybe the "over-usage" of them? I was drinking about an ounce of APV with lemon and water everyday. I would also have a rice cake with yogurt and organic honey as my breakfast pretty much every day. I decided a few weeks ago that I would eliminate those two things from my daily diet to see if the itching would go away. Well.... IT DID!

I am not fond of trying the ACV vinegar ever again nor the honey. I have been reading things on honey that persuade me that it is more "NOT" good for you than it would be good! I would like to hear from others if the ACV has had an "itchy" affect on you and/or the honey, or the combination of both? Right now I am scared to try either for fear that the "Itchiatis" will come back again! It was simply unbearable! I strongly believe that it was one or the other or both the ACV/Honey that has caused the itching. These are the two things that I had added to my diet over the summer that gave me reason to think that they were the culprit. I had not changed my other food habits and pretty much eat the same thing everyday. I am a vegan (organic) too and am very particular about what I eat. Thank you for your time. Please address this issue. Janie D

I have been taking it for about 1 a wk and a half and I feel like it is working. My question is what are some of the side effects? Tried for the first time yesterday - 250 ml water 2 table spoon of ACV , Purified American Garden Brand.

Liked the taste , but 3 - 4 hrs later for all most 24 hrs ( even now ) feeling slight head ache and feeling little tired . Is that because of less bicarbonates in my body ? and ACV is producing this side effects ?

If neutralised with Baking soda, will there be any reduction in the efficacy of ACV for weight loss .

Pl. let me know

[SIDE EFFECTS] Annie from Los Angeles, Ca writes: "I drank apple cider vinegar straight (about a shot's glass worth), chased with water once a day. Pretty soon thereafter, my monthly cycle began getting heavier. I did not make the connection at first. Then eventually I noticed that my hair was shedding more than usual, and I even developed a nickel-sized bald spot near the front of my hairline. Also, my energy level was really getting low. I'm a runner, and I found that I could barely run three miles when in the past I could easily run 8 - 13 miles!!

At this point I was really trying to figure out what the heck was going on. I realized that the only thing I was doing differently was drinking the ACV. Well, I stopped drinking the ACV and my monthly cycle went back to normal flow. I put two and two together and realized that the ACV was causing me to bleed so much that I was becoming anemic with low iron, which in turn caused the fatigue and hair loss.

Anyway, I stopped the ACV and started taking some iron pills, and now I am totally back to my strong, normal self, and my hair has grown back.

ACV may help many people, but it definitely did not help me at all."

[SIDE EFFECTS] Granny Laura from Waco, Tx writes: "My son takes apple cider vinegar for his digestion, my daughter will sometimes drink pickle juice for her GERD. So, I thought I would try some ACV myself. I swallowed about a tablespoon and chased it w/half a glass of water. Surprise!! My stomach immediaterly started burning below the ribs on the right side, a place bigger than a quarter.

I had been sick and passed out in the floor a couple of nights before. I'd had a huge pain that radiated to most of my body from my stomach or heart area. My nitro pill did nothing so it wasn't my heart. I would have called an ambulance but I couldn't get to a phone. When I got better I just went to bed. The doc did tests for h pylori and c difficile the next day, no results yet. But, I think I now have my own diagnosis after the ACV and looking up the kind of pain I had. It was a perforated ulcer.

Now, I said all that to say this: If you feel anything in your stomach when you take the ACV, see a doctor ASAP!!! I had been having that pain only not as bad (dull ache)and just ignored it.

I did a lookup on VCO for ulcers and am now taking that. I had some I had bought for cooking, But, the best use for it I had found was washing myself in the shower w/exfoliating gloves and putting VCO on head to toe after I turn the water off in the shower. Then I dry off w/an old towel. WOW! My skin looks and feels GREAT!"
