[YEA]07/02/2008: Michael from Los Angeles, CA replies: "This is not only a Sudanese problem, it is a world problem and we are are responsible. "

IRAN

4 YEA

[YEA]  07/17/2008: Monica from Round Rock, TX writes: "Yes, I completely agree that we need to continue prayers for Iran. We are building this strong wave of hope that is definitely reaching Heaven because we can already see changes happening. Let's all spend at least 10 minutes on Sunday so we can see more changes on the weeks to come."

[YEA]  07/01/2008: Linda R. writes: "It is very difficult to make choices sometimes but I strongly feel that we must avert war with Iran and begin to turn things around in the world where all of us can live with each other in peace so I am voting for that prayer topic and maybe we can pray for zimbabwe as part of our weekly prayer topic. I am praying for the situation in Zimbabwe every night. Thank you for providing us with this ability to unite in prayer with each other."

[YEA]07/03/2008: Tesia from Easthampton, MA, USA replies: "I would like to pray for a peaceful resolution to the USA-Iran conflict. I would like to request a sharing of ideas and visions for how to visualize this. Prayer is a conversation with the omniscient mind...and I want it to be a conversation of beauty and grace, with a lot of powerful visuals. I have a background in anti-war and anti- all kinds of things activism. But now I don't want that antagonism to enter into the conversation. I don't want the ugliness and fear of the current drama to inject itself into the prayer. "

07/13/2008: Dinah from Cleveland, Ohio replies: "I, too, believe in the power of creative visualization and hosting thoughts and images, individually-- and far more powerfully, collectively-- which embrace peace, mutual respect of people, security, and a bright and hopeful future galvanized on a new plane of ease and collaboration. Positive thoughts and images hold a special vibration; we all instinctively know this. I am pleased to generate a positive prayer atmosphere by calling on the desired outcome and not what we should avoid or is of issue to us. I'll hold a good thought for you; I shed my "anti" self a while back and reap the satisfaction. :) "

[YEA]  06/30/2008: Amanda from Salt Lake City, UT writes: "As tensions seem to be increasing between the US and Iran, I think it's important to focus our prayers and meditation on a peaceful outcome to the current situation.

In an article in The New Yorker, (found here: http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2008/07/07/080707fa_fact_hersh )reporter Seymour Hersch "claims Congress has given President Bush the go-ahead to conduct clandestine operations in Iran."

"[Hersch] also said in an interview on CNN that he thinks the Bush administration believes it must either attack Iran or stop its nuclear weapons program before the next president takes office."
(Quotes taken from this page: http://www.ireport.com/ir-topic-stories.jspa?topicId=25235 )

The current war in Iraq is a disaster; military conflict with Iran would likely be even worse. Aside from the casualties and horrible human costs of war, there would likely be an economic impact as well. "In a report published Saturday in the conservative Jam-e-Jam newspaper, Gen. Mohammad Ali Jafari said that if Iran were provoked, it would also move to control a key oil passageway in the Gulf."

"Iran is the world's fourth-largest oil exporter and about 60% of the world's oil passes through the strategic Strait of Hormuz." (Quote taken from this page: http://money.cnn.com/2008/06/30/markets/oil_prices.ap/index.htm?postversion=2008063006 )
This would add to the widespread economic misery already being experienced by so many in the world because of high fuel and food costs.

War with Iran would be a disaster of global proportions, not just for the US, but for everyone.
I hope we can focus our prayers on finding peaceful, diplomatic ways of solving problems between these nations; and that the hearts and minds of those involved will be turned away from war or any other kind of military action.

Also, if anyone is interested in contacting their representatives about this (or other) issues, they can look them up using this page:

Thank you,
Amanda"

PUERTO RICO

1 YEA

[YEA]  07/03/2008: Myrna from Caguas, Puerto Rico writes: "I ask for your prayers for my country and for the people of Puerto Rico. Like the USA we will be holding elections for Governor in November of 2008. We need someone who puts the welfare and interest of our people before their own. Someone who has a vision for our country that will raise up the standards of service and dedication to inspire and move us up and onward towards a future filled with hope and goodwill for the sake of our children and for ourselves. We need to mature as a people and to realize our responsibilities to our families, to our country and to the world."

ZIMBABWE

4 YEA

07/04/2008: Caroline (Luangni@yahoo.com) from Melbourne, Australia writes: "To my brothers and sisters in Zimbabwe, take heart, have faith. I just want to reassure them that last year when all seemed lost and I sent a prayer for my country Kenya through earth clinic, my prayers were answered the week the people of the world prayed and peace was restored to my country Kenya. I now live in Australia but always thank Earth Clinic for being part of saving my motherland Kenya..
Carol"

[YEA]  07/03/2008: Doris writes: "I have read all of the superb topics posted for Sunday's prayer session and have spent some time meditating each one. My (intuitive) vote is for Zimbabwe this week, though I would like to do Iran for next week's weekly group (and perhaps for the rest of July).  Every day the newspapers and online news are reporting on the dark and oppressive situation in Zimbabwe. Darkness looms heavily over this country, which is why I feel the group should work on it this week."

[YEA]  07/01/2008: Karen from Dover, USA writes: "I have been to Zimbabwe within the past 6 months and will be returning next March.

This Country is so complex for such a small nation. Its common population is by far the most peace loving I have ever encountered. Sadly materialism has infiltrated in this populace as well as the government. Still their break from traditionalism is not full and their hearts for the most part are.

The government is filled with people that do not want to give up power and worse fear it. They have been accused of torture, murder and maiming in the name of retaining these areas. These accusations have been made by people that I personally respect and regard as honest and so sadly I must come to the conclusion that they are at least in part true.

Please, let's pray for fear to stop and for right action to reign. Not war if at all possible, rather right action of treating one another as equal human beings first and justice wars last. Let us pray that our fear of not having enough will not prevent us from sharing the meager amounts we see with others who have still less in the moment and BELIEVE that LOVE will supply all that is needed. Let us pray that Zimbabwe learns this lesson now and passes it along to all the world watching.

Blessings,

Karen"

[YEA]07/02/2008: FC from Savannah, Georgia replies: "Let's pray for Zimbabwe, for peace and democaracy."
