Malaria
12/13/2008: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand: "... You might never heard of methylene blue, but it was used during the Vietnam war to cure malaria. The reason for it's disuse is that taken in very high dose, it causes the urine to be blue. However, there's a cure for blue urine, it's called vitamin C sodium ascorbate! So the reason for disuse was that the doctors simply didn't give the GI's vitamin C sodium ascorbate when they injected methylene blue, or perhaps taken internally. Even so, it can easily be proven that methylene blue will become colorless. Just add drops of methylene blue in vitamin C, it will instantly become colorless. Interestingly, methylene blue works better with vitamin C, as both are related to negative hydrogen, as evidenced by the fact that if you did use ORP meter, the resultant measurement is likely to be -200 millivolts or up to -300 millivolts, which is a negative charge. Methylene blue is a negative hydrogen carrier, while vitamin C sodium ascorbate, preferably is a producer of that and is a reducing agent.

09/08/2010: Blue from Reno, Nv, Usa replies: "I'm amazed at the many positive results of using Metheylene Blue. My question is about malaria. I may have contracted the mild form (Plasmodium Malariae) when I visited Thailand a year and a half ago, (lucky you, Ted, for living there) and the symptoms are only recently showing up (3 to 4 months now) as pain in my spleen that is not going away. No classic symptoms of fevers/chills, and also no blood test as yet since it's an expensive test and I have doubts about the tech recognizing it in the states where malaria is virtually unknown. My doctor prescribed an upper abdominal sonagram (sp?) which showed nothing, but he confirmed a swelling in my spleen area during the physical exam. Does anyone know how much MB was given to GI's in Vietnam to cure malaria? A few drops of the very diluted. 1% solution sounds like a very light dose against blood parasites. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you."
10/01/2010: Blue from Reno, Usa replies: "Methylene Blue. The bottle arrived (4 oz., 2.303% pre-mixed solution.). The question I posted a couple of months ago hasn't been answered though. How many drops should I take per day and for how long to eliminate malaria? As a mitochondria stimulant, would the 2.3% solution be too much?
Estimates okay, I realize this isn't a medical advice site. About Canada, every site I looked at won't ship to Canada. Perhaps there's a ban on MB in your country?
Thank you very much, Blue"
08/28/2011: Meera from Toronto, On, Canada replies: "I ordered my MB via ebay, from a UK petstore supplier, and it reached me in Canada without difficulty."
03/31/2012: Koi from Sofia, Bulgaria replies: "If it is 2.3% concentration and you wish to get 0.1%, then divide a glass in 10 pats very clearly by marks. Fill up the half of the first tenth part with the concentration (that is 2.3%) and fill the rest of the glass with distilled water."
07/03/2012: Kylie from Whitianga, New Zealand replies: "I would like to know the dosage for malaria as well. I'm taking methylene blue away with me as a malaria preventative and would be good to know how many drops of a 1% solution I should take as a preventative. Any suggestions?"
07/04/2012: Louwrence from Rustenburg, North West, South Africa replies: "Hi Kylie, If I were you I would search the net for MMS & see if it will suit your needs because it has been proven as an effective remedy for malaria."
07/06/2012: Kylie from Whitianga, New Zealand replies: "Thanks - I checked out MMS on the web as well as here on earthclinic. Seems great if you've already contracted malaria, but I'm looking for a preventative. I don't fancy being in the middle of nowhere with the terrible cramping and diarrhea MMS seems to bring on, whereas the methylene blue "avatar" side effects seem easier to deal with. Just seeing if someone knows of a dose that will effectively kill the malaria Protozoa should they manage to get in in the first place. I'll be sure to eat pawpaw seeds etc too, plus I'm taking H2O2 & vit c powder with me as well."

[QUESTION] 08/02/2010: Kevin from Wilkesboro, Nc: "My dad was diagnosed with mantle cell lymphoma back in Feb 2007. He has been thru chemo several times and it's to the point now that he just can't stand the strong treatments and they aren't effective now anyway. We have always believed that God put natural methods here to cure cancer etc. And one of his friends told us about Mary Martin Sloop who back in the early to mid 1900's took methylene blue for cancer after the Dr. had cut her open and then sewed her back up because they said they couldn't do anything for her. Mary Martin Sloop went on to live 40 more years after taking the methylene blue. We have no idea how to get it, use it and would it even work for my dad now since he is in pretty bad shape. He is unable to eat basically as he has trouble keeping food down and is really weak. The Dr. gave him no more than a few weeks to live. Can you please let us know quickly if there is anything that would get him well. We don't want to prolong his suffering but we would love to get him back to his active lifestyle of bowling, biking and living for the Lord. Thanks and God bless, Kevin"
Replies08/03/2010: Isabelle from Garden Grove, Ca Usa replies: "Dear Kevin, I am so sorry about this situation, my heart go out to you family. You can search this site on lymphoma, cancer, methylene blue etc.. And try to find the what and how by yourself but your time is more precious. Your best chance is to contact Ted directly: at this address. He is using methylene blue in his remedies plus a few other components to help with cancer he is extraordinarly knowledgeable and generous with his knowledge and patience. He can give you a protocol to follow right away and that will save you a lot of time. Any way you can get methylene blue in an aquarium shop. That is where I got it and diluted it by Ted specifications. May your faith and the force of the univers guide you to good result!"

Remedies that Directly Attack the Candida
*Methylene Blue(MB). You can buy this at any aquatics or fish supply store. Used to get rid of fungal and bacterial infections on fish. Also used throughout the last century as a successful anti-malarial. Taking MB on its own will turn your urine green and the whites of your eyes blue, but if you take at least 1000 mgs Vitamin C with the MB, these side-effects will not occur. Dosage: Two drops of a 0.1% solution of MB in a full glass of water once or twice a day. Do not take MB after 3 or 4 o'clock in the afternoon - it gives you alot of energy so you will not be able to sleep!! (I learned this the hard way... LOL) MB is a deep acting anti-fungal that is able to penetrate the blood/brain and blood/bone barriers of the body. MB is also a marvellous mitochondrial super anti-oxidant for your brain -- gives you lots of energy. Read about MB here."
08/03/2010: Robert from Martinez, Ca replies: "One of the better sites for cancer is: 'cancer tutor'. Your main concern is time & I appreciate your dilemma as I have a young nephew who waited too long to seek alternative treatments & had his 5 month to death pronouncement from the medical authorities after they laid seige to his already debilitated body. So called alternative docs are persecuted by the AMA/FDA for not following 'standard' protocols of drugs/surgery. The industry is hamstrung by the insurance companies who will only insure what is taught in med school. So I will include your father in my prayers & your family as this is a stressful time for all of you. May you be held tightly in Creator's loving healing hands."
08/11/2010: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Dear Kevin:
Methylene blue does effect cancer growth by turning the cancer tumors into aerobic, which stops their growth that way as cancer in general are aerobic. Methylene blue is acquired from stores that sell aquarium fishes. They usually have methylene blue 1%, whereby we reduce them by adding 1 parts methylene blue with 9 parts water, should get a relatively safe concentration. Then we can add methylene blue drops such as 8 drops and slowly add more so if there is no side effects. In Vietnam war they actually used far more methylene blue to treat malaria, such as methylene powder in milligram to gram doses. The methylene blue is synergistic with large dose vitamin C. What I do know for stage IV cancer, which is cachexia cancer, is B50 vitamin B complex, or B6 200 mg for example can reduce some of this cancer cachexia. The other is the use of Hydrochloric acid concentrated, at 8 drops per 250 cc of water and to that I will add between 4 to 8 drops of methylene blue and take this for an entire day until the cancer cachexia goes away. Another observation to restore the appetite and stopped cancer cachexia that I have found is B5 panthenol, or a possible replacement, pantothenic acid to be helpful. What I do not like about pantothenic acid is the calcium form since the get cancer worse. If it was possible for the methylene blue 0.1% is injected a 1 cc, into the tumor cells that could have done it's job also in staving off tumor, but that's just a theory, by interfering with cancer fermentation. In any case, there are other ways to resolving cancer cachexia such as megestrol which is progesterone hormone, if taken at fairly large dose such as 250 mg for example, or applied to the skin as safer means might actually stop the cachexia by neutralizing what they call TNF, which is a cachectin hormone that causes your inability to eat. The liver's inability to function from lactic acid is another problem that can lead to the condition also. A methylene blue is obtainable from a local chemist, a chemical company , a local aquarium shop, or a scientific supply store, or perhaps a school supply store where they do the slides to stain the samples using a 1% methylene blue solution.Ted"
08/11/2010: Kevin from Wilkesboro, Nc replies: "Dear Ted,
I'm very unsure of what to do right now. My dad probably has a week or so at best to live and he is not eating, drinking very little and sleeps most of the time. I want to help him get well but I don't want to try something and prolong his suffering if we can't get him completely recovered. If it was your loved one and he/she was in this shape what would you do with the knowledge you have?
If doing something what exactly would you do?
Thanks for your time and may God bless you,
Kevin"
08/15/2010: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "I would basically reduce his suffering by restoring energy and nausea. As mentioned I used clove oil and methylene blue. To restore appetite I used b50 and HCl and at least the case I was involved with simply did not want to die. While that case was given a few days to live she is doing fine after 3 years. Yet in another case just last week in similar circumstances she simply don`t want to live so nothing was done because she refused any treatment even though the natural treatment for cancer was a success and hence nothing was done so she died in few days just last week. It was the patient that really have their say and if not conscious it just depend on the family's decision.
Ted"
09/17/2010: Tommy from North York, On, , Canada replies: "Hi Josecito, Ted spoke about how to dilute 1% MB into 0. 1% MB. One part of MB in 9 parts of water will dilute 1% MB and make it 0. 1%. So if you want to make 1L of MB 0. 1%, you have to take 100 ml of MB 1% ( one part ) and pour it into 900 ml ( 9 part) distilled water. Another example, if you want to make 500 ml MB 0, 1%, you take 50ml MB 0. 1% and pour into 450 ml of distilled water. There is a lot of ways how to make the volume you want, you have just to follow the right dilution ( 1:9). I hope that can help you."
09/17/2010: Josecito from Miami, Florida replies: "Ted said, "They usually have methylene blue 1%, whereby we reduce them by adding 1 parts methylene blue with 9 parts water, should get a relatively safe concentration. Then we can add methylene blue drops such as 8 drops and slowly add more so if there is no side effects. "
What does 1 part exactly mean?"

[YEA] 03/29/2013: Allgood from Elberton, Georgia: "I am suffering from a bad fungal infection of my sinuses and head-tried verconazole--1100.00 a month--lots of nasty side affects--methylene blue (mb) did the job much better--ingested and nebulized at first then only orally. Started with 1/10th of one drop of 2% mb been working up another drop a day. The day after being sneezed on by a very sick woman, I started feeling poorly with my head feeling worse--I nebulized mb a few times and felt poorly the next day-but am feeling good again now--I think the mb stopped the virus in its tracks--could be the cure for the common cold and other viral infections.
Warning--you must hold your breath while nebulizing--do not inhale the mb--will hurt your lungs--I put a straw in the mouthpiece and block off the unit so all the mist is coming out the straw--you can only do this with the old style neb that works off air pressure. Hope is everything!!!"
[QUESTION] 10/05/2010: D. Ron from Madison, Wi, Usa: "Has anyone used methylene blue in a nebulizer?"
Replies10/15/2011: Dan from Clearwater, Florida replies: "Regarding using Methyene Blue in a Nebulizer: I briefly had this thought, too, but then I remembered how messy it was, and how much it stained when I just spilled a single drop of the diluted methylene blue (and undiluted it would be even worse). In a nebulizer if some of the vapor got loose it could get all over you and you'd end up looking like the "cookie monster"."

[YEA] 09/17/2011: Bp from Edmonton, Ab, Canada: "I've only been taking methylene blue for about two weeks, so I can't yet speak to long-term benefits or side-effects. But its positive results for me in this little time have been remarkable.
I've been suffering with depression and numerous physical problems for several years, to the point of being nearly bedridden at times, and being unable to function productively more days than not. I've tried dozens and dozens of natural remedies, with only limited effect.
When I began taking the methylene blue, I had a couple of days of discomfort in the area of one kidney. But within a couple of days, this had subsided, and I currently have the strongest physical and mental health I've had in years! My mood is joyful, and I have much improved focus when reading. The pains in my spleen area have virtually disappeared, I can breath comfortably at rest (my breathing was laboured before), and I have gone from needing 9 or 10 hours of sleep a night to needing only 6 or 7 to get by comfortably.
MB isn't a cure-all -- I still have back problems, and skin issues, and some other symptoms from congenital/genetic issues. But, based on my own experience, I recommend trying it if you have had problems with candida or parasites, anything spleen-related, depression without obvious cause, persistent breathing problems, or thyroid/glandular disfunction.
I dilute one drop of the pet-store MB into four litres of water (two full 2-litre pop-bottles), and take between a half-cup and a full cup, with extra water added to further dilute the dose, once or twice daily. Since MB is used to disinfect standing water, it shouldn't need to be refrigerated, either."
11/13/2011: Bp from Edmonton, Ab, Canada replies: "I thought I would report back after a couple of months of pretty regular use (at least 4 or 5 doses per week). Unfortunately, the euphoria and enhanced concentration didn't persist past the first few weeks, and my depressive symptoms have returned to their previous level. However, as of this time, the pains in my left side (spleen region) that were my constant companion for a long time have still not returned, so I consider it a success by this measure alone. I also believe that it's having a positive effect on my sinus pain/pressure (a problem which I attribute to systemic candida -- a longstanding problem for me -- and/or a mold infection acquired from an unhealthy living environment)."
[YEA] 03/08/2013: Heather from San Diego, Ca replies: "Thank you for posting this. I'd been looking into Methylene Blue (MB) for antifungal/antibiotic/antiviral uses, and noted that it seemed to clear up brain fog and was being used in clinical trials for a variety of brain-related issues (which I have to some degree). I also had multiple painful cysts (one each on an ovary, liver, kidney, in diaphram area and a breast.) The breast one seemed to go away on it's own but the others persisted for 9 months, sometimes doubling me over in agony. Usually though, they only hurt if I or my doctor pressed on them. After a week on MB, I noticed the abdominal area cysts hadn't been bothering me, so I began pressing on all the parts that hurt, and no pain. I'm assuming they are now cleared up. Note that two weeks prior to MB, I finally took a course of antibiotics, which may have helped, but the pain was still there, and they still hurt when I pressed on them even a week after discontinuing the antibiotics.
Other supplements I take are Lugols 5% (average 1 drop per day); daily, a half dose of a good quality, high b vitamin multi, vitamin D 1500-2000 per day, N-A-C, Milk Thistle, Lysine, 3-4 grams Vitamin C and melatonin; Zinc, selenium lithium aspartate (5 mg) are taken 3-4 x per week. Also, I've been faithfully making Ted's alkalzing formula 1/4 tsp baking soda with an acid (ACV, lemon juice, or for now, just the vitamin C crystals to take with the Methylene Blue). Additional baking soda taken on its own before bed.
Take a few low dose (usually 1/3 of lowest dose) Xanax and Trazadone for sleep or panic attacks as needed. (Once in past week.) Taking the MB in 2-5 drops, 2-3 x per day in the 0.1% solution recommended by this site (Ted). I've settled for now upon 2 drops but experimented a bit.
I've experienced reduced brain fog, increased ability to focus, recall of memories and vocabulary that were lost to the brain fog, deeper sleep, and less anxiety but not ruling out placebo effect (or the addition of Lysine) yet as I haven't been on it for months. I can only say that the cysts are not a placebo effect, as they were painful and I wasn't taking MB for them per se, although I did hope for improved general health due to possible viral/fungal/bacterial infection. I have traveled to jungles, etc. , in past and thought perhaps I picked up something US docs don't screen for.
Side effects I may be experiencing from Methylene Blue are headaches (mild, infrequent), dehydration - drinking lots more water, buzzing in brain - specifically the right side over temple, and sometimes on top of hear, stiffness in neck/ upper back. Except for the buzzing, the others may not be related at all. The brain buzzing is particulalry amplified by coffee and/or N-A-C. I've also been experiencing a buzzing in my lower legs (outside of calf) for a few days.
There's research on Methylene Blue that says it is an inhibitor of Tau protein aggregation. (From wiki: Tau proteins are proteins that stabilize microtubules. They are abundant in neurons of the central nervous system and are less common elsewhere, but are also expressed at very low levels in CNS astrocytes and oligodendrocytes.[1] When tau proteins are defective, and no longer stabilize microtubules properly, they can result in dementias such as Alzheimer's disease. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tau_protein)
Melatonin also reduces tau hyperphosphorylation, at least in rat brain studies, so I'm going to taper off of melatonin (I've taken 9 grams for a year) for a while. It might somehow be related to the buzz effect too.
That's my report. I fully expect that the mental benefits from my lose dose Methylene Blue experience will be a fail/placebo, but I'm going to keep it up for two or three more months, just in case."
03/11/2013: Roec from Los Angeles, Ca replies: "Was wondering where you were able to get 5% iodine. I can get it online but hoped you found a store you can walk into and buy. I am aware of the law changes in 2007 that only one ounce of 5% can be sold at one time.I have looked almost everywhere for it, in healthfood stores. No one has it. Whole Foods and Earwhone doesn't even have iodine other than the one help derived iodine and does not provide any percentages on the lable and the fluid is clear."
03/14/2013: Heather from San Diego, Ca replies: "I can only find Lugol's online. Usually, I get the 2% and double the number of drops because 5% is harder to come by.Just realized that I wrote I was taking 9 grams of melatonin. LOL! That would be an overdose for sure. I was taking 9 mgs, and have tapered down to 3 mg. Will continue tapering to 1.5 mg.
At this point, the brain buzzing has become barely noticeable on top of my head. That buzzing sensation in the legs and right side have stopped as well (those are areas that flared up with buzzing and pain once when I took doxycycline -so it's interesting to note) and it appears the other possible side effects - back pain, headaches, weren't related. I do suspect the interaction of melatonin with methylene blue (MB) was part of the buzzing issue. Regular coffee is definitely also an isssue in the buzzing, so my advice is avoid or drink decaf.
MB has not increased my energy levels but I still think it has increased my ability to focus and has perhaps reduced depression and anxiety as well.
I don't know how many miccrograms I'm getting of the MB with each drop at 0.1%. I think it could be 60 mcg. If anyone has a guesstimate, I'd really appreciate an approximation to assist with my research on scientific studies with MB."
Parasites
09/03/2010: Tommy from North York, On, Canada: "To Bill from Philippines,
Hi Bill, Thank you very much for your posts. I have a question regarding the use of methylene blue against Entamoeba Hartmanni. This protozoa is believed to be non-pathogenic, however, me and my wife are experiencing the same mental and GI problems and some articles talks about virulent strains of this parasite. I feel like a bubble moving in my chest. And sometimes in the back of my neck. I took the Hulda Clark protocol for a week and I felt great but after that I felt that the protozoa has developed a resistance because I continue taking the tincture (Black walnut, Wormwood, cloves) without any improvement and I felt the symptoms coming back. What I want to do next is to use Methylene Blue against this protozoa but I don't know the right protocol. I wonder if you have time to help me with that?
I'm also taking L-Argiline because I read that L-argiline stimulates the productions of Murine macrophage in mice's which make them able to fight the protozoa. God bless you."
09/04/2010: Bill from San Fernando, Luzon, Philippines replies: "Hi Tommy... Using Methylene Blue will certainly help fight your problems. MB has been used against malaria for a century and was used on American troops fighting in Vietnem with malaria. MB should always be used with Ascorbic Acid (Vit C) to avoid the side effects of the whites of the eyes turning blue and also causing blue-green urine. Use of Ascorbic acid with MB prevents these side-effects. Take at least 1000 mgs vit c with the MB.
The protocol I follow is as follows:
Add half a teaspoon of Ascorbic acid powder to the glass, then add water and mix into solution. Then, if you can, add the Baking Soda, or Sodium Bicarbonate (Arm and Hammer is fine) to this solution until the fizzing stops, to make the solution alkaline(in order to preserve the bicarbonates in your own body). Now, just add the drops of 0. 1% Methylene Blue(usually 3 - 8 drops as required). This mixture is taken outside mealtimes. Take this mixture first thing in the morning and again (if required) before 3 pm. If you take the mix after 3 pm, your mind may be too energised by the MB and you wont be able to sleep later in the evening."

06/28/2009: Jane from Fort Worth, Tx: "Dear A from Toronto, I learned from Ted that the sodium ascorbate is in a form more appropriate for the body since ascorbic acid would be a lower ph and our body is more optimal at a ph of about 7. Actually you could probably get a better answer from Ted because I am just learning about these things.
I have seen a published drug study regarding using the vitamin c with methylene blue. I believe it was in regard to treating malaria. At any rate it appears that vitamin c is needed. At least there should be vitamin c circulating in the body when taking methylene blue. I don't think its necessary to take vitamin c every time one takes methylene blue.
As to the stroke issue, I just don't know much about that. What I have read is that it is the chlorides that are so harmful. You know, table salt. So a good sea salt is something that you may want to get and avoid the table salt that is refined and not natural. Sodium chloride is in the processed foods as well. Apparently sea salt, like Celtic sea salt, is very good for us and even fights infections. It also increases thirst and so then we drink more water which is good for us.
Another comment about stroke. I have learned that excess calcium circulating is one sure cause of stroke. The misinformation about taking calcium is not been helpful to us at all. Also I gave my father mega doses of a magnesium citrate product that we since learned was not even magnesium at all or at least had a large component of calcium in it. We have now learned to make magnesium oil with the magnesium flakes sold to salt water fish hobbyists. I rub it on my Dad's skin and it goes through the skin into the body and relaxes his muscles and also helps to put the calcium in its place and out of the blood stream which greatly reduces his chance of having another stroke.
The alkaline drink is something we take about once per day, sometimes twice and now sometimes not at all. Everyone's needs are different and sometimes I am not that compliant. I guess its because my Dad is getting better and so now I'm not that scared. The alkaline drink we take is in a small cup with a small amount of water. We follow this drink with a glass of water. It is 1/8 tsp of sodium carbonate dissolved, then add 1/8 tsp baking soda dissolved, then add 1/8 to ΒΌ tsp potassium citrate dissolved. So that's it. I still recommend inquiring of Ted because I learned this from him. The basic thing is to check urine ph and I believe it is supposed to be a 7. You may find other posts to verify all of this. It will not be in the methylene blue thread though.
Another way to alkalinize is to drink lemon water. Just don't use chlorinated water.
I hope this helps.
Jane"
[BETTER BUT NOT CURED] 01/09/2009: Jane from Fort Worth, TX: "Hi Ted,
I am amazed that after one and a half days of taking methylene blue with vitamin c my 85 year old dad, who has Parkinson's, initiated transfer to his wheelchair and needed much less assistance than yesterday. Yesterday he was not weight bearing much. This morning I did not pick him up to get in his chair, just guided him. I broke out into laughter of happiness!
Thank you a million for the information you provide on earthclinic. I love seeing the results!
Jane"
Replies01/09/2009: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Dear Jane:The methylene blue works, however, continual use of low dose is very helpful. However if it is discontinued, at least in the beginning may weaken the energy level, but further dose will allow the person to recover. Methylene blue is considered a super antioxidant for the mitochrondria. The best that I have seen so far. The brain is the highest metabolic rate in the body and hence is helpful with methylene blue since it increases energy level to normal levels through mitochrondria support. Taurine supplements and some potassium bicarbonate with baking soda are also helpful and supportive to this remedy too.
It's often best used as dose I have mentioned. I liked it so much I have since added methylene blue to my Emergency Aid kit as posted previously, although it remains I still needed some tweaking. Low levels of brain metabolism is what I believe to be causing the Parkinson's disease, and I have found the methylene blue to be helpful.
Thank you for the feedback!
Ted"
02/09/2009: Mary from Belfast, Northern Ireland replies: "Hi Jane, can you tell me how your father is getting on with the methylene blue? Is it proving helpful. A relative of mine has just been diagnosed with Parkinson's. As yet they only have tremors in the hands and I would love to get something that prevents it getting any worse, or at least slows down its progression. Any updates would be appreciated. Thanks, Mary."
02/15/2009: Jane from Fort Worth, Texas replies: "Dear Mary from Northern Ireland,Yes my father is getting along well and the Parkinson's symptoms are definitely diminished since taking the methelyne blue regularly. I am very encouraged about this and I have specific reason to suspect that the Parkinson's is at least partially fungal related in my father. He is also taking the alkaline drink with sodium carbonate, bicarbonate of soda, potassium citrate, taurine, carnosine. The alkaline drink two and sometimes three times a day is noticeably helpful as well. He has sleep apnea which is problematic at times. The alkaline drink seems to help with this some as does sleeping on his side and not on his back. I would hate to be without any of these things because I have noticed increased mental focus for my dad and increased energy. At first I believe he was taking too much methylene blue, a drop of 1% solution three times daily. He is now taking a drop or two of 0.1% two to three times daily depending on our schedules. The higher concentration may have temporarily caused a tremor that wasn't there before. His symptoms did not initiate with the tremor, but with the mask like face and a shuffling gate. Now his face is like his old self with his smile and usual expressions. He has his sense of humor and his personality again. Also I believe that magnesium is helping him very much too.Not magnesium aspartate! Also I have since learned that our eating food with msg may have correlated with a little setback he had. So now we are much more careful to avoid all msg and excitotoxins that are sometimes in mineral supplements. He takes carbidopa/levidopa three times daily as well."

Swine Flu
07/22/2009: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand: "... I have encountered a person who was dying from swine flu, pretty much the doctors have given up. Tamiflu simply didn't work both as prevention and in advanced cases of the swine flu, or the 2009 Viruses. The only thing that has helped this man in ICU was actually the hourly dose for 24 hour of 1000 mg of lysine. For weeks he was on high fever, and the only thing that can tame his fever was actually the lysine. When he did get better and body temperature became normal, the lysine dose was switched to 2000 mg every two hours, since every hour prevented him having long sleep. Lysine was fed via tube. Ideally the lysine dose can be spaced much further if there is no increase in any fever. Since this man was a confirmed H1N1, where it took a week to found out he did have H1N1, the swine flu ate away about half of his lungs, from excessive mucus, and the man was not able to breathe on his own, and has to be on an artificial respirator. As a result, the excessive mucus was controlled with 4 tablets of chinese herbal supplements ganmaoling tablets, taken every 4 hours so it may again disturb his sleep schedule. Within the first hour, there were clear indications of reduced mucus, and it was this that ate away his lungs. His inability to breathe was placed on artificial respirator, as a result two more supplements needed to restore his normal breathing using methylene blue 0.1% taken at 2 drops one in the morning and two drops one in the evening. Since methylene blue did restore or return his breathing and was taken off the artificial respirator within the week, the methylene blue caused him to sleep less as he now has more energy. Therefore the dose was reduced to one drop in the morning and one drop at 12.00 p.m. Tamiflu was not helpful both as prevention and when people did have it since some were on tamiflu."
...
10. The Swine flu scare is not real.
It is real and the numbers are much larger then what authorities say. However the real scare is to spread it and for people to get vaccinated and then it gets deadly. It eats up the lungs over long term flu. I am as yet trying to fine a cure to restore lungs after they have been eaten away by the flu. What I am currently looking is the lysine, methylene blue and the Ganmaoling chinese herbal preparations."

08/10/2009: Connie from Manitowoc, Wisconsin replies: "The way the media in this country ran with the story, it did look like a hoax. And then so few cases were discovered despite the apparently urgent need for vaccines and face masks. And the people who succumbed to it were already ill. It has been said that other types of flu that hit do more damage and receive less media attention. It did look like a hoax, possibly an attempt to force the public to demand the borders be closed. Thank you for the clarification, Ted :)"

[SIDE EFFECTS] 04/14/2011: Lorica from Patricia_southgate@att.net, In: "I started taking methylene blue to help get rid of candida & indeed it is good for that. However, I think it should be used with extreme caution, especially if one has any history of heart problems. My own heart has always tested out as fine, however the first day after taking MB I felt this strange, strong blip in my heart. Then about 5 minutes later I felt it again. Now I had been eating the same foods exactly for weeks due to diet and health issues. Only the MB was a new addition. I did still want to take it and dilluted my dose by half. Since then I have had no problems, only benefits. Be so very careful."
08/26/2010: Wydo from Ventura, Ca, United States : "Hi Bill, I would like to try Methylene Blue. I trust the Methylene Blue but I am worried about other ingredients in the aquatic products. One of them has Sodium Benzaote and I don't know if this is toxic or not. Other products just don't list ingredients. You also mention vitamin C and I would like to know what kind I could use such as sodium ascorbate. Can you mix the vitamin C in the water with the Methylene Blue? Thank you for you time Bill, in advance."
Replies08/28/2010: Bill from San Fernando, Luzon, Philippines replies: "Hi Wydo... There are few problems with Methylene Blue(MB) bought from aquatics shops. Fish are very sensitive to chemical toxins, and if the MB purchased at the aquatics shop started killing fish, no one would buy it anymore. Sodium Benzoate, as Ted has mentioned, is a deep acting viral killer and is quite safe to take in small amounts.
I buy Vitamin C as Ascorbic acid powder, which is the purest form. When you buy the Ascorbic Acid tablets, they add adhesive fillers which I don't like, because these fillers inhibit the Ascorbic Acid going into solution thereby inhibiting absorbtion into the body. The ascorbic acid powder is the purest and cheapest form you can buy.
To create Sodium Ascorbate I just add half a teaspoon of Ascorbic Acid to a glass of water and then add Baking Soda(Sodium Bicarbonate) -- Arm & Hammer BS is fine -- to this mix until the fizzing stops. Now you have Sodium Ascorbate in solution -- in its most absorbable form. Then I just add the drops of 0. 1% Methylene Blue(usually 3 to 8 drops depending on your needs) to the Ascorbate or Vit C solution and just drink it down."
09/02/2010: Wydo from Ventura, Ca, United States replies: "Hello again Bill and thank you for your information. I just have one more question. Could you please tell me if you can mix the Methylene Blue with vitamin C powder in the same glass of water?"
09/03/2010: Bill from San Fernando, Luzon, Philippines replies: "Hi Wydo... Yes, mix them together. Add the Ascorbic acid to the glass, then add water and mix into solution. Then, if you can, add the Baking Soda, or Sodium Bicarbonate to this solution to make it alkaline(in order to preserve the bicarbonates in your own body). Now, just add the drops of Methylene Blue. This mixture is taken outside mealtimes."
Where to Buy
08/08/2009: Connie from Manitowoc, Wisconsin: "Heavy Metal Detox: There is a company that produces Methylene BLUE that also produces a product called Rid Metal for eliminating heavy metals in aquariums. I emailed to ask how toxic (if at all) their products are to people, and asked for ingredient lists. The 4 ounce bottle of Methylene BLUE says it is a 2.303 percent solution, and adds that it is zinc free, but it doesn't say what other chemicals are in it. The bottle cautions that it "is toxic to plants and is harmful to biological filtration, preventing nitrification and resulting in a rapid rise in ammonia and/or nitrite levels."
Replies08/10/2009: Connie from Manitowoc, Wisconsin replies: "The response to the inquiry is (truncated): "For use in aquarium and ornamental pond keeping the K----- products Methylene Blue and Rid-Metals are safe to use by humans who follow the printed instructions in the proper use of these products.
K----- Rid-Metals is a water conditioner that eliminates heavy metals in the water. It does not eliminate heavy metals in the fish. Therefore, as a water conditioner, Rid-Metals is meant as a preventative to eliminate heavy metals before they can become a problem to fish and aquatic invertebrates."
01/15/2009: Daisy from NY, NY: "Where can I purchase methylene blue? Where did you find the information about this? I cannot find a previous post from Ted on this. I did find that you can buy this without a prescription. Thanks."
Replies01/16/2009: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Methylene blue is often sold in two places: one is in school supply store, science section. The other is sold at a local aquarium shops. Both are methylene blue and can also be found in the internet often used for fishes to kill fungus. It should be noted that the concentration sold in aquarium shops is 1%, while my solution, based on a lot of calculations required about 0.1% concentration at two drops per dose. Three drops may be a little high for a 160 pound adult and calculated accordingly. It's often taken for about twice to three times a day. I haven't quite worked out the frequency yet, but gives huge energy and I also do not like to see people exceeding the dose beyond too much of the calculated 3 drops maximum dose in a glass of water, as it tends to make you overactive, mentally especially.
When you do buy methylene blue, the concentration may sometimes be sold as 1%, in which case you may need to dilute this to 0.1% concentration. So if a 100 cc of 1% methylene blue is bought from a local aquarium shops, I may have to add 900 cc of water (which totals) 1000 cc or 1 liter at 0.1% concentration.
As for me, I have used two sources, one from my local school supply store science section in which they used 0.1% methylene blue to temporary stain microscope samples, and from a chemical supplier that sold me food grade methylene blue for a couple of grams. You will need only drops and a dropper bottle can be carried around in your pocket, like I do, whenever I feel the need to take them, for convenience.
Ted"
08/12/2009: Connie from Manitowoc, Wisconsin replies: "The Kordon brand Methylene BLUE concentration from the pet store here is 2.303%. The product's Website says:
"SPECIFICATIONS
Contains zinc free, chloride salt of Methylene Blue. Provided as a 2.303% water solution."
Is this the correct product?"

[QUESTION] 03/16/2009: Ab from Castleton, Ontario: "Does anyone know of a Canadian source for methylene blue? I've searched aquarium and science supply websites, but can't find anyone willing to ship to Canada.
Also: my husband has used both glutathione (intravenous and also as an inhalant) and low-dose naltrexone (not at the same time) for Parkinson's. Each was very effective for about a year."
