I read a lot of feedback from people using iodine on skin problems, so I thought I'd give it a try it, since I had liquid iodine in the house. Almost immediately I saw a change. The skin, which was very rough, is now softer, almost like my other knuckles, and the skin isn't nearly as thick. One is almost normal. I also started applying iodine about a week ago to a mini-mole on my face, and it is reduced in size. One of the most interesting things is the change in my breasts. When I had mammograms done in the past, I was told that my breasts were dense. Now, although I didn't apply any iodine directly to the breast, they no longer feel lumpy. Yet another thing I noticed was that I felt much less eye strain from the day I started using iodine on my hands, but it seems to be helping my eyes less than it did at the beginning. The one thing I haven't had success with is in applying iodine on liver spots. I've been applying a few times a day to the biggest spot and so far no change, but I'll keep trying for a while. This is a cheap and easy, harmless therapy. It's really worth trying to see if it does you any good. "

It's an important member of halide group on the periodic table along with fluoride, bromide and chloride. According to the research of Guy Abraham, M.D. and David Brownstein, M.D., iodine augments the excretion of fluoride, bromide, and I believe chloride. In effect it may be one of the more promising treatments for chronic fluoride toxicity. I'd love to hear if you have heard of any feedback from those pursuing iodine therapy. If you add Hydrogen Peroxide to Lugol's the whitening effect is permanent, therefore not adviseable for scalp treatment unless you don't mind bleached hair or are bald. Since my TSH was normal, my doctor saw no reason to do the T3/T4 test despite my having classic hypothyroid symptoms. SO, after taking 3 drops of iodine in a glass of purified water with a half a teaspoon of vitamin C powder, I found that I was getting a bunch of pain in my gums where I had mercury fillings removed. What astounded me was that the dentist and I could not identify which tooth was suffering the pain. After taking an x-ray, it was found that 3 teeth in the upper right quadrant were very deep, yet nothing that indicated any serious problem that may be causing me all the pain I was feeling. What I believe was happening is that after 6 weeks of taking the iodine and Vit C powder, that residue (if this is the right word to use, someone out there maybe help me on this one), was being removed out of my gums! After 5 days of pain wavering in and out, it completely went and there is now no more pain. Dad put 1 to 2 drops of red iodine into our 8 ounce glass of milk every morning for more than ten years. I do not know if this prevented us from goiters, but we are all goiter free and there were no apparent side effects as we are all physically healthy. A little wacky psychologically but I don't know if that had anything to do with the iodine."

The last few months have noticed at times I get like feeling cold or guess chilly. Weather here has turns cold, and now seems like that has make it worse. Now I am planning to set up an appointment with the gland doctor. However, thinking in meantime trying iodine to see if that may help a little. I see I am not alone with this problem for two other people with same problem reporting it on the internet. I never had this problem before severe radiation & chemo so now thinking this appears to be a side effect from treatment to a few people. They may be able to kill the bad cells with radiation & treatment but it does seem to result in a few other problems. However, I am lucky to have made it this far so guess considering not to bad. (worthless). But black walnut trees are the place for the best unaltered iodine naturaly .(dryed powder),(iodine liqude)ect. After seeing all of the good effects of iodine, I will stay on it forever. You must watch food that rob your body of iodine too. Also watch your MSG intake. MSG will also cause very bad problems also. A back door to bad health---->>>>MSG. Iodine will not see MSG and that MSG will kill the good iodine effects."

What I've received is Lugols Iodine but even though I specified colorless the only one he could get me is colored. The description on the bottle is " Lugols iodine B.P. - aqueous iodine oral solution - for nutritional supplementation of iodine only - each ml contains 126 mg of iodine derived from iodine and potassium iodide." It then goes on to state that it is for animals only and to paint or spray it on the animals skin and how to orally supplement the animals watering trough as well. My question is is this the same iodine that people orally supplement with just with an ability to stain? "

Under active ingredients it says, "Iodine tincture U.S.P. 100% (2% iodine)...... First aid antiseptic. It doesn't say what else is in it, no secret peel-back label, and the product's website was minimal and unhelpful. Naturally the bottle declares it for external use only, with a cute little red scull and crossbones on the front of the label. Is the USP 100% some kind of standard wherein it would be possible to ascertain any additional unmentioned ingredients? This is one of those mysterious happenings, actually. I was wandering through town aimlessly, and figured I'd wander through the grocery store. I was feeling very aimless. Looking through the shelves of pharmacy offerings I began looking for items Ted had mentioned. Potassium Citrate contained sucrolose..... I perused the shelves for several minutes. Then, stashed behind some hanging items were two little bottle of iodine, similar to the kind I'd been meaning to buy online.
