EDGAR CAYCE SHAMPOO FOR HAIR LOSS
01/29/2012: Petrea from Sydney, Australia writes: "Hi! Can anyone help me with the following query.
I am a middle aged women (50yrs) suffering dreadful hairloss and would like to try the Edgar Cayce products. However, I am concerned that the EC shampoo has Sodium Lauryl Sulphate in it!! Surely EC wouldn't have included this 'nasty ingredient' in his shampoo??
Wondering if anyone can suggest another shampoo that has all of EC's ingredients minus the SLS. Or does anyone have a home remedy with EC's ingredients that I can use???
Also, can anyone tell me where I might purchase the crude oil etc. here in Australia???
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Petrea"

BORAX QUESTION
04/23/2008: Neicy from Honolulu, HI writes: "Can anyone who has used borax as a shampoo tell me if they used the laundry boost borax or the kind from the health food store."
07/11/2011: Carol from Vancleave, Ms replies: "Borax shampoo can be easily used in the shower. I use it every other day and have for almost a year. You just shut your eyes, like you would with regular shampoo. It is no different. You use regular laundry borax. Remember to use a citric acid rinse. Recipes can be found many places on the internet, I prefer Dr. Hulda Clark's recipes, you can search for those. Hope this helps."

HOMEMADE SHAMPOO INGREDIENTS/BORAX?
01/19/2008: Jacie from USA writes: "Congratulations on your extremely worthwhile site! It is truly exceptional. Please post my question for all readers. Does anyone have a natural home made or folk style hair shampoo? I am aghast at the chemicals being permitted for use in commercial products and am looking for natural substitutes. Unfortunately, even the so called organic products contain potentially hazardous chemicals. Fortunately, I am not suffering from any particular ailments, just want to get away from toxins and influence optimal health. If anyone would be willing to share what natural substances make an easy to use shampoo for use in the shower, (as opposed to bending over the sink), I would be most appreciative. Thank you in advance, and I am thrilled to have discovered you all of you. Peace and Light to all!"
1/22/2008: "Thank you for posting my question per my posting LOOKING FOR HOMEMADE SHAMPOO INGREDIENTS. I just wanted to clarify my question. I thought I had read on this site or elsewhere that Borax was being effectively used by folks as a hair shampoo - but while bending over the sink rather than the shower. Because it is sodium borate, I thought people were advising to try to keep it out of your eyes, and consequently using it while showering made it difficult to use. Is this incorrect? I see that Ted and others are saying it does not irritate the eyes. Is anyone using this in the shower?
Keep up the great work in this excellent site. It is so wonderful to see people coming together using their intuitive wisdom. Together we can fight the commercial powers that may aim to suppress that collective knowledge. Thanks again!"

BORAX VS. BORIC ACID
12/14/2007: Nancy from South Carolina writes: "After reading about natural hair conditioners, I was confused about what product to use--Borax, or boric acid? It seems that Borax is easily converted to boric acid, according to Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borax
Wikipedia also states: "Boric acid, sodium borate, and sodium perborate are estimated to have a lethal dose (LD50) from 0.1 to 0.5 g/kg in humans. These substances are toxic to all cells, and have a slow excretion rate through the kidneys. Kidney toxicity is the greatest, with liver fatty degeneration, cerebral edema, and gastroenteritis. A reassessment of boric acid/borax by the United States Environmental Protection Agency Office of Pesticide Programs found potential developmental toxicity (especially effects on the testes).[6] Boric acid solutions used as an eye wash or on abraded skin are known to be especially toxic to infants, especially after repeated use because of its slow elimination rate.[7]"
So perhaps it is better to use Borax for washing clothes, and leaving the boric acid to kill ants and fleas, rather than using it on one's body?"
