What a great concept Idea?!?!? Thank you so much for creating a space people can share healthy info and and their results! Most kewl! :-) Thank you Thank you!
Just wanted to let you know that there seems a misdirected link.. I assume it is that way on all pages.. The google search box located at the top of the screen.. whether you check web or earth clinic it all searches google web. :-( Not sure but I think its a google issue... but you may be able to fix it, i just thought you should know."
RepliesEC: Hi Andrea,
Thanks for letting us know. We have tested the search on multiple browsers and don't have the same issue. It brings up Earth Clinic pages each time.
Can you let us know what browser and version you are using? If it's an older browser, this may be the issue. Earth Clinic works best in current browsers like Internet Explorer 8. You might also try clearing your history and cache and seeing if this corrects the issue.
04/26/2010: Francisca from Michelbach-le-bas, Alsace, France replies: "At first I also thought that I had been directed to the wrong page but then I understood that I have to open the earth clinic pages myself. I get a Google page where first there are a few links in a window called Adds by Google but under that I get Web and there you see the links to the Earth Clinic pages. So it is not as if you are directed to the Earth Clinic pages right away, you get the links and have to open them one by one. I hope this helps because in the beginning I was confused as well!"
EC: Thank you for clarifying, Francisca! My programmer couldn't find anything wrong with the google searches.

EC: Thanks, Zander! Your response has been posted beneath Joyce's bio here: http://www.earthclinic.com/support.html
To all: Zander is replying to this part in Joyce's bio:
One more... I can remember another illness when my paternal grandmother came to the rescue. My older sister told me that when I was about 3 and shortly after my next younger brother was born, my mother came down with kidney problems (probably her first severe bout with pyelonephritis which eventially killed her when I was 29 years old). She said Mama was so sick and her circulation would kick out and she would start turning blue. She and Dad would get on opposite sides of her and walk her to try to get her circulation going again. My grandmother went out and returned with something she called kidney weed and brewed up the tea for my mother. Although I asked my mother many times if she could show me the weed she used and as many times as we walked through the woods together, she was never able to identify the plant and never knew it called anything but "kidney weed". My mother said it was vinelike, but stayed close to the ground, had leaves about the size and shape of a mouse ear on opposite sides of the stem, and liked to grown close to springs. Maybe some reader of EC can tell me the common or proper name of this elusive kidney weed."

Replies03/15/2010: Linda from York County, Maine replies: "Hi Deborah - keep at it, Girl! ...for me, a large part of my enjoyment of this site is the reading...gaining insight, opinions and feedback that help me decide to try something - or not. Maybe if you can set aside some time to put your feet up and browse the comments you'll find it a bit easier to absorb. Best Wishes!"
03/16/2010: Francisca from Michelbach-le-bas, Alsace, France replies: "Deborah, do you know what I do with all the information I get from this site and also from books I have been reading? I have a file in my computer where I divide the information by subject, that way I can always go back and review it easily. Of course I can look it up in my books as well but as I have quite a few it is a lot more difficult as it is if I would try to find it on this site every time. From the site I only have to copy and paste. I do the same with books I am interested in. I read the comments on Amazon.com (although I live in Europe... Americans post a lot more comments), then I copy and paste the titles and give them a different color according to whether I think that the book might be interesting or not. That way I don't have to look up books over and over again just because I forget that I have already read the comments about that specific book. There are thousands of titles of books on health subjects so this way I don't waste my time."

02/22/2010: Anon from Anon, Anon writes: "I have been a daily reader here for about 5 years maybe more and I have become very CONFUSED here lately.
Probotics, cause aids? Is this if your already have HIV?
Alkiline body is really sick and causes health problems?
I wish, now more than ever that I had just stuck with traditional medical doctors.
The medical doctore tend to agree some what with each other! I know most of the people here are NOT doctors, But this is just crazy.
No matter where I go and what I read NO ONE can agree... I might just be done on here.
I am sorry to sound so angry... I know somethings here FOR SURE do work. My family and I have tried and had sucess with.
Candida!!! How many stories can we get about this??? Who will agree? Nobody!
I am very disappointed right now, it maybe time just for me and the family to go back to traditional medicines and regular medical doctor visits. (Since the verdict is still out )
I really wish, that natural remedies could be our future medicines, but with this much confusion, i really don't know.
I was as positive and supportive as anyone posting on here, but now I am like a deflated balloon. Sorry!"
02/22/2010: Lisa from Thousand Oaks, Ca, Usa replies: "Hi Anon,I'm sorry that you feel so disappointed and disillusioned. I truly hope that you will always read with discernment what people write here. I have been on here for quite awhile as well and there are times when I have felt the same but for different reasons. Still, I work to keep an open mind which I don't think the mainstream medical community often does. I love the things Joyce from Joelton has to always say. She was from that medical world and her advice is always sound. I say, always question and do your research beyond this forum and the advice given by anyone on here- even those who sound "all-knowing". Then, follow your intuition- it is a very sound guide if you listen. Some things work for some, other things work for others! We are all so different and sometimes the placebo effect is even sufficient! There is still so much about life that is a mystery, including our bodies because we are spiritual beings having a physical experience so there are factors involved beyond the simply-explained.
For myself, I was a sickly child that was taken to the dr. and hospitals more than most. It wasn't until I left home that I made a conscious decision to take my health into my own hands as I was disillusioned with drs. That being said, I don't discount them if in fact, through natural means, I can't seem to be shaking something off i.e., a bladder infection. Still, I will take other means first to be in charge of my health and my kids. I have 5 of them and have truly never used drs.(I have always used homeopathy, folk remedies, Chinese medicine, herbs, Aryuvedic remedies, healthy food, etc. to name a few other paths.) Three of my kids are adults now and in their adult life have chosen to use drs. My oldest daughter though, through a serious sinus infection and drs. advice and many bouts of antibiotics (against my advice) with no real results became disillusioned and finally, in utter defeat came to me in tears asking me what she should do. Prior to that, I was the crazy mom who lives with the belief of eating right and that food is our medicine, understood correctly. Taking care of our health is easier than trying to bring it back! She has truly changed in one year. She has modified her diet staying away from all dairy and sugar and she's like a different person. She has never had any other sinus issues since so as a result, stays with this protocol.
Anyway, I hope you can stay open and understand that everyone here is trying to find their way. We are all trying to find our way as we coexist on this planet...Peace to you,
Lisa"
02/22/2010: Rob from Manhattan, New York replies: "For me, the best part of this site are the testimonials, someone tries this or that & experiences certain results. I take into account how long they were applying the remedy to consider the placebo effect. As for people espousing their absolute theories, I would hold little weight to. We're all in the same boat as to the mystery of the body."
02/23/2010: Cured from Niceville, Fl replies: "In response to...02/22/2010: Anon from Anon, Anon writes: "I have been a daily reader here for about 5 years maybe more and I have become very CONFUSED here lately.
If you can't read between the lines or use your own common sense then you might be better off putting your medical care back in the hands of a doctor. Your words--"The medical doctore tend to agree some what with each other!"---They agree with what makes them MONEY! And what they were taught in school. It has only been in the last 100 years that we have gotten away from natural home remedies. In 3 generations have we become that brainwashed already? Humans have existed over 2000 years on earth thanks to home remedies and a medicine man (kinda like earth clinic) to tell us what we need. I doubt we last another 200 years using mainstream modern day doctor advice and Rx drugs. That is scary to hear all the side effects especially "women who are pregnant should not handle" & "if you are nursing or pregnant or could become pregnant" etc. If we think we have seen mutations and new birth defects, it disgusts me to think of what the next 100 years is going to bring. BPA which by the way causes cancer--FDA approved that one, the list is endless.
Candida for example; I researched some 10 websites when I first heard of it. The only thing/people ignoring this exists are doctors. Why might one ask? It has 20 ailments related to it. All of which drive people over and over to the doctor. This income they have come accustomed to. Of course now most mainstream doctors won't get a clue because they like the income. If they give you one pill or one remedy to cure this, they all will be out big time.
There are chicken littles everywhere. You have to be smart enough to know what is fact and what isn't. It is the information age, do research on other websites. Pay attention to your sources. With so many news sources today you have to take things with a grain of salt and filter out most of what you read. If someone told you to jump off a bridge I am positive you would have enough common sense not to do it. Same principle applies here.
Over 5 years daily reader and you have found things proven to work for you and your family. Keep going with those that make sense. If you don't understand it, forget it and move on. That is just the brainwash talking---2000 years, how did we ever survive so long without these huge drug companies and millions of doctors--who by the way 99% of which were not around 200 years ago. "We" are creating our own problem and it is scary to think of what the next 200 years is going to look like.
Reflate your bubble and get back on the wagon. Surely you weren't wrong to spend the last 5 years using ole time remedies and keeping your family healthy. Don't let a little turbulance and confusion burst your bubble...with this or anything else in life."
02/24/2010: Anon from Anon, Anon replies: "I do apologize for my frustration. I do want to say though, that my anger is not pointed to anyone in specific. My point is, if it works. It works. Maybe it works for some and not others.
Reading between the lines, Ok just today on the net. "The dangers of daily dose of aspirin" Then on Dr. Oz TV show, he encourages people to take a low dose of aspirin everyday.
See my point, and yes I know what the real medical doctors are all about ( MONEY ). It is a corrupted system and I LOVE the ideal of people being able to heal them self without drugs or surgery.
Maybe Cured can help me here.
Soy. Ted says soy is ok. The other natural Drs. say no to SOY.
I even read an article on the net about the area of the USA with the oldest population ( people on average living longer ) and one thing they did was not to consume any SPICES in their diets. On EC, here we use spices to heal.
We only know what we read, since the natural field is lacking the necessary studies and funding that the DRUG PUSHING Drs. are getting.
Anyway, I hope everyone accepts my apology, But I also hope everyone can see my point and why it gets confusing. There are to many subjects to list here. But there are a Ton of conflicking stories people have about natural remedies.
I will be glad to list some of the things that have me confused. My list is long, so be prepared. I know we are all learning, but I want proof of what actually has been done in Mexico and other countries. I think these reports could give us some actual facts on the results. On here we are all at the mercy of the poster.I love THIS SITE and am so thankful that I found it and have been able to use it all these years.ABSOLUTELY, there are things on here that WORK. At least it worked for me.
Let's say, someone wanted to practice natural medicines as a holistic DR. What school would you attend? Who would you believe had the best cures? I say this because everyone practices in different ways.
Cured, I would like to know what it is that you do daily for you health and cures. Let us know your protocol, so we can learn from you. I want knowledge, but where the verdict is out we need sources posted and debate and bat around the pros and cons."
02/25/2010: Lisa from Thousand Oaks, Ca, Usa replies: "Anon, Again, I'm going to say, use discernment. Listen to what is being said and then ask yourself what you think of that advice. Clear your mind and the answer will come to you easily really. You seem to get yourself confused. Remember, everyone has different experiences therefore, different opinions.
You pose a few examples of contradiction and very quickly, I could answer them for myself. No to aspirin- that would be simple! I don't care if Oz is a dr. or not, I don't want aspirin on a daily basis in my body toxifying my organs. On the other hand, if one feels that they really need it for some pain, by all means... As for soy, I don't think it's a good idea after all the research I've done and articles I've read. It was a push on the public done by that industry- another one of those schemes such as the meat industry, the dairy industry, etc. Each has their self-interests so YOU must have your own self-interest. On the other hand, once in awhile I eat tofu but just not soy products in general.
Also do outside research from this site. I'm always learning- love to learn and find so much fascinating!I'm a pretty confident person so I don't second guess myself. I go through information and then I come to a conclusion. Perhaps a little further down the line, new information comes in. Then, I may re-acess and adjust.
In past posts I've mentioned amazing people in the healing field who have so much incredible information to offer.
A fascinating man, Dr. Brian Clement who is not only a dr. but a healer, a scientist and has the Hippocrates Health Institute and has literally helped thousands of people heal themselves through diet and education over 40 years is someone you can listen to speak on youtube. You will learn so much from him! Also, Dr. Gabriel Cousens who you can listen to speak on youtube as well. He has been at the forefront of healing people as well through diet and education at his healing center called The Tree of Life. Ann Wigmore can be heard on youtube, David Wolfe and so many that are all at your fingertips if you have the internet.
I take my health in my own hands and blame no one for it. I take responsibilty for it both emotionally and physically. I continue to learn daily and adjust and experiment. I think the doctors are doing their own experiments on people but just act as if they know what they're doing! Often they're in the dark too- they just don't let others know (except perhaps in confidence with some colleagues who are equally as baffled!)Currently, I have had amazing results with juicing on a daily basis of lots of green veggies and lots of raw food. For awhile I was doing this exclusively but then when it got cold and wet here, we started to slowly add in cooked foods, mostly homemade soups and my body seems to be doing fine on it. I have continued to eliminate all pasta, dairy and bread from my diet. Through this I have eliminated all the excruciating pain that I have lived with for 4 years now. I feel so grateful to that. Having said that, I don't consider this the end of the road. I will continue to tweek things here and there to live optimally. I hope this helps you in some way.Peace, Lisa"
02/25/2010: Lee from New York, New York replies: "Hi Lisa,I've been on this website for about 8 months and I always find your postings to be informative and without a personal agenda. Interestingly, I am going to a lecture by Brian Clement tomorrow night. I, too, find him fascinating.
Thank you for always taking the time to post when you feel it is appropriate. I enjoy your "take" on things.Lee"
02/25/2010: Lisa from Thousand Oaks, Ca, Usa replies: "Hi Lee, How fantastic for you! I would love to see Dr. Brian Clement in person. He is so full of information that is so helpful to health and his take on things is so interesting. Like his respect for Chinese medicine and Aryuvedic medicine but what he feels fall short in light of what we have learned or more importantly what he has learned as a dr. and scientist. It is especially of interest to me because I have followed both of those paths at various times. What he says makes sense to me too. He is very thorough in his presentations and with a lot of humor and self-deprecation of his own early past. Where will you get to see him? In NYC?
Thank you for kind words. I can only hope that what I have learned and been through in personal experience can help lighten the path for someone out there.Peace, Lisa"
02/26/2010: Cured from Niceville, Fl replies: "To Anon from Anon and Dj from Pdx; I sincerely appologize if it came across as disparaging remarks to Anon. If it came across that way it was clearly not my intent.
The conflicting information; I only meant not to try things until one either understands them or do more research elsewhere. Some of these remedies could be harmful (ex. food grade H2O2) if one doesn't fully understand what it can do and the harm of using full strength, things could be disastrous. Knowlege is power, the more we have the better we are to make decisions for ourselves. It doesn't help when people have money and spread bad things about something that does more good than harm. But with their money and twisting can make it look so bad. Coconut oil is an example of that. Pre WWII (I think...i'm no history buff) CO was used quite a bit in America in baked goods in grocery stores and such. A little bad media and it disappeared as a staple.
Ok, in my quick reply I mistook "deflated balloon" (Anon's words) and said a "bubble". I appologize. To me I guess it meant the same thing. The entire last paragraph was meant to build Anon back up from this confusion/end of the rope feeling--reflate your balloon--give confidence to her that through these confusions she will figure out/find her path again.
I see your point completely with the confusion of conflicting information. It was this that prompted me to suggest research and watch the information sources. I personally don't read newspapers/watch the news. If they advertise for drug companies they are unlikely to publish anything other than supportive information about them/using their products (something like that). Take each piece with a grain of salt until you truely feel you believe in it. If you don't believe in it/understand it discard it or file it away for later. I also take this a step further and consider cost and ask was this around say 200 years ago or is it commericially/chemically engineered. If it is not natural I try not to take/use it or use in moderation, course we all love junk food, least I know I love every bit of it. But even with that it is only a few times a month I indulge. I have VCO and ACV which I think covers just about any detox a body might need (i could be wrong...but these two surely won't hurt). I am in no way an expert (in anything). I have only been an almost daily reader of EC for 6 months. Those 6 months have changed my life forever! Thank you EC and everyone who contributes. This is the coolest thing and so much better than learning this stuff from book, I get to read peoples experiences, good and bad and we help each other (free of charge at that). It is like its own community/village (almost like family) where we are all helping each other to better our quality of life, in essence becoming our own dr.s and taking charge/control of our own health.
Again, I appologize if my words sounded harsh/didn't come across as I intended. That was definitly not my intent. Peace to everyone!
May God Bless!"

I did not know where to post this message since it is only technical in nature. I have been unable to figure out how to use the highlight feature you have for the search field. Some of the posts/pages are very long, and I want to be able to scroll quickly to find what I am looking for. I use Firefox and wonder if that is the problem (?)"
EC: Hi Lisa. You're posting in the right spot! We add questions like yours to a page called "comments and requests".
Checkmark the highlight search terms box, then put your search term in quotes (works better that way). See what Google pulls up in the new window and then click on any link/page of the search results. If you now scroll down the page you've just opened, you would see your key words highlighted on the page.
So for example, I just tested "boric acid" in the search box on Firefox with "highlight search terms" checkmarked. Then I picked the borax page from the search results and used my mouse to scroll down the page to find boric acid highlighted in purple. Do make sure to put your key words inside "", otherwise each word will be highlighted in a different color. Unfortunately using this feature sometimes kicks in the highlighting feature on every page, in which case you should shut your browser and restart it (or trying clearing the cache and history first).
Let us know if you have any more questions!

Any company in the world can create a google ad, which then gets triggered on a multitude of websites by certain key words. There are many, many different ads cycling through EC each day, too many to monitor. Also, ads vary by location. Another question, a lot of people talk about Blackstrap Molassos but even my husband who is British has never heard of it. Is any type of Molassos we buy in the shops the same thing or is thing something American? In the UK there is Treacle available in any supermarket but also Molassos available in the health shops but I have never seen Blackstrap Molassos. I would like to try it but as I live in France the costs to have it send in case one buys online are horrendous. Online one does find blackstrap Molassos in the UK.
I find your site very interesting but I really think that it would be even more interesting if people can get real answers to their questions without having to look through the whole site on a regular basis.

I really hope these will be of some help to you and your husband.

How do we find Ted's recomendations on perticular ailment ? What we see is individual experiences and suggestions and some times the answer of Ted to some question. Thanks"
EC: Hi Baldev,
If Ted has made a recommendation, it will either be at the top of the table of contents menu called "Ted's Remedies" or it will be in the section called "Questions & Answers", also at the top of the toc menu on each page.
Unfortunately, the migraine page does not have anything listed from Ted in either section. However Ted has answered a couple of questions on the headache remedy Q&A page: http://www.earthclinic.com/CURES/headache_questions.html

12/01/2009: Celteyes from Pearland, Texas writes: "I don't know how to look up testimonials from other people. I've searched the site but don't know how to find specific people and their posts. Would someone please direct me?
I love this site! So thankful for everyone."
EC: Hi Celteyes. If you can't find someone's post but know his/her name, send it to us and we'll help you search for it. The more information you can remember, the better.
Google search (at the top of each page on our site) is supposed to have every post indexed, but some posts do slip through the cracks.

Here are is a short list of abbreviations on our site: http://www.earthclinic.com/guides.html

11/17/2009: Joseph from Lake Worth, Fl writes: "Is it best to contact ted email directly or go thru EC site for Health Questions for him. I sent emails to his parhat email address but I'm not sure if he received it ?"
EC: Hi Joseph,
Ted probably received your email, but doesn't have time to respond to many questions, unfortunately. Also, he won't answer a question if he's covered the topic in previous answers.
Either emailing Ted or submitting a question to the site is about the same.

EC: Hi Thracia, since your post was addressed to Ted, you can find it on Ted's Latest Q&A page. The icon for this page is the big ? at the top of the latest posts page, next to the Paw icon. http://www.earthclinic.com/latest_questions.html
The other page where your question has been posted is the Q&A section of Fibromyalgia Remedies here: http://www.earthclinic.com/CURES/fibromyalgia_remedies_questions.html#Question_2788

11/08/2009: Ahj from San Diego, Ca writes: "Acronyms and Abbreviations
I would like to suggest that you take the time to spell out your three letter abbreviations and acronyms (such ACV for apple cider vinegar, for example). To read a post that uses these if one does not already know what they are is irritating and completely defeats the purpose of communicating.
Alternatively you could make links out of all these abbreviations to a nomenclature page which gave the meanings. This would make your whole site more effective and reduce the bewildering array of undefined terms."
EC: Hi Ahj,
We already have a page for Acronyms and Abbreviations - it just must not be clearly visible. We link to it on the remedy and ailments index pages: http://www.earthclinic.com/guides.html.
We'll start spelling out more acronyms in the new, incoming posts. Thanks for bringing this up.

10/20/2009: Anonymous from Malibu, California, USA writes: "I clicked on to "my account" and "feedback", yet I cannot find my feedback anywhere on your website.
Where can I find it? I would like to add a "P.S." to the allergies post. THANK YOU!"
EC: Hi Anonymous. Do you see any links in "My Feedback" after you log in? If so, clicking on them should direct you to your posts. If not, hmmmm... we've run a few tests just now and can see the links just fine.
In the meantime, you can find your recent posts on the Latest Pets Posts section here: http://www.earthclinic.com/latest_petposts.html. You will find the icon (a paw) to the Latest Pets page at the top of our Latest Posts page. Clicking on the link at the top of your feedback will take you directly to the inside page where your feedback has been posted. Hope this makes sense!
P.S. If anyone else cannot see links to their posts in the "My Feedback" section after logging in, please let us know.

EC: Yes, you can find the bios to two independent contributors, Joyce and Ted, on the "About Us" page. http://www.earthclinic.com/support.html. The link to this page is located the set of links at the bottom of every page, (along with our terms of service, copyright, contact us, and search links).

09/29/2009: Lori from Delta, Co writes: "I am just wondering why some words are highlighted in color? for example the word and, flu, of, the, ect...... in alot of the posts. Is it just my computer? "
EC: Hi Lori. No, words should only be highlighted on a page if you've just done a Google search (located at the top of every page on this site) using the same key words and are clicking on the links in the Google search results. Try deleting your browser history and cache, then restarting your browser. That should solve the issue. But if anyone else is experiencing this, please let us know! Thanks...

Could someone tell me, why an account with EC is better than just an anonymous surfing??? Yes, I read the agreements and what not,but have failed to see a big difference. Should I keep my account? Is there actually any BENIFITS???
Is there forums, chats or something else I am missing?
Thank You."
EC: Are you sure you have signed in? At the top it should say "Sign Out" and "My Account"
There are two benefits to being a registered user:
1. Registered users are able to send feedback much faster; i.e., they don't have to enter name, city, state, email and spam code each time they send a post.2. In your account details, you will see every post that you have sent and where it links to on the site.
