[SIDE EFFECTS]  05/16/2010: Shahnaz from London, United Kingdom: "Hi Ted, I have SLE/Sjogren's syndrome since 18 years, and for the past few years had a rash on my right leg shin and gradually its spread on my other leg, over my body. the rash is called lichen planus. as the itch is driving me mad, im up to try anything to relieve me as it is getting worse, the medicines are not helping so i stopped everything. currently detoxing, having a complete vegetarian diet, juicing and started to drink the soda bicarbonate. I have washed my infected wounds with borax, it helps drying but makes it very itchy. could you recommend anything for this skin condition please. Much obliged, shahnaz"

EC: Hi Shahnaz,

The Q&A page on the Lichen Planus section has one answer from Ted: http://www.earthclinic.com/cures/lichen_planus_questions.html#Question_1159

05/20/2010: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Borax helps drying, however, to stop the itch, a tannic acid solution may be needed. A weak one for topical application is 1/2 teaspoon of tannic acid per 1/2 cup of water. It is then applied and the itching should stop within about 2 minutes. To remove the drying after the itch goes away, a couple of more applications maybe needed, then apply moisturizing oil. The oil I use is grape oil mixed with some aloe vera oil, or any appropriate moisturizing skin care oil might be helpful.

The only problem is in some countries, such as Canada, tannic acid is not obtainable. An appropriate substitute such as tea tree oil, lavender oil and some sunflower oil in equal amounts might help. If tannic acid is taken internally a very low dose such as 1/4 per liter of drinking water is free of side effect and further help the SLE conditions also by denaturing them and prevent their spread. I am now currently using borax/tannic acid/ and H2O2 for similar symptoms, and baking soda as in 1/2 teaspoon twice a day in a cup of water will further reduce the symptoms."

I have severe skin problems, butterfly rash, redness on farhead, etc., it is really getting less noticeable each day.

10/04/2010: Susannah from Melbourne, Victoria, Australia : "Hi Ted, thanks for the info. I've been trying the HP Borax solution on some moderately bad rosacea for the last week or so. I've seen some improvement but I notice you say Borax should be taken internally to effectively kill the mites. I'm very hesitant because I'm three months' pregnant and I've received advice that it could cause miscarriage. I'm hoping you or anyone else might have some knowledge about this or might be able to recommend a safer alternative. Many thanks."

10/05/2010: Lily from Brisbane, Australia replies: "Hi Sussanah, I take borax about 4-5 days a week at about 1/4tspn in 1 litre of water then stop for a week. I would not recommend taking it while you are pregnant. It is just not worth the risk. Start taking it after you have finished breastfeeding."
10/16/2010: Susannah from Melbourne, Victoria, Australia replies: "Hi Lily, many thanks for getting back to me. That's pretty much what I thought -- I'll hold out until after breastfeeding and look for other safer remedies."

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED]  01/18/2010: Nettie from Banning, Ca: "Demodex Mites - Hi Ted,

I'am on my fifth day of the borax treatment 1/4 teaspoon in a liter of water and I have noticed the itching is not as bad anymore. Now I only feel them on my face sometimes when they are moving around. I have been loosing eyelashes for 2months now and I have also been using tea tree oil in all my face products and shampoo. My question is what can I use on my face since it feels so dry after everything I use. I hear that using creams on your skin only makes it worse its like mite food, but I cant stand feeling my face so dry and stretched out. Please advise me on what I should be applying on my face. I also wanted to ask you if the demodex mites could have come from a homemade cream I ordered online since there is no perservatives could it be they live in these creams?"

01/18/2010: Dianna from Austin, Tx replies: "try some virgin coconut oil on your face or even extra virgin olive oil.

both of these will also help smother the mites. i have treated pets of mine who had mites in the past by putting on a generous layer of virgin coconut oil and rubbing it into their skin and fur.

so for sure it won't make the mites worse!!!

01/19/2010: Dj from Mv, Mo replies: "For Nettie from Banning... I can not use creams or oils on my skin. My mom gave me a glycerin-based product with "fermented" copper and other minerals in it. She got it from a TV shopping channel. Worked absolute wonders! Hope this helps."
01/19/2010: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "I don't know exactly for demodex mites but a Morgellon's (which is quite close) do survive in them, at least one that I know that happened in Hawaii, as the guy who makes the cream had Morgellon's disease, so that's how the buyer got it. While there's no demdodex mites, the Morgellon's certainly spew out tiny bugs out of her skin, almost like a demodex mites. It's best to make the creams or remedies yourself. Certain things used in creams and lotions do die, such as lemon oil, orange oil, or even tea tree for example, but that depends on how much those were used to have some killing effect.

Another common method of getting mites is from used furniture or clothes from strangers, family or friends who had demodex mites."

06/02/2011: Pluto from New York, Ny, Usa replies: "Nettie, I also use borax on my face. After a layer or two of borax (mixed with HP and TTO) is dry I put on a generous amount of Sea Buckthorn Oil. I get a bit orange, but that's not the end of the treatment. After that I put on 20% zinc cream from the drugstore (baby section), which is white. I just do a thin layer, but it cuts the orange and I look pretty much normal, and the zinc is a sunscreen. After that I dust with face powder if I feel it is needed. Sea Buckthorn Oil is labeled as being good for rosacea."

[YEA]  08/13/2009: Scott from Anytown, Usa: "Hello all,

Hope this is beneficial to some other like sufferers...

I have been suffering from skin Mites for the past 2.5 years.

Been on Iodine hard for about a month or so, big help. 20 - 30 drops SSKI 2 or 3 times a day, SSKI I got off curezone. 5 drops Magnascent once or twice a day. 2 weeks ago I started with the Borax as well. I use 1/4 tsp in 1 quart of distilled water and consume 2 of these a day. I'm also having 1 - 3 Tblspn of Flax oil a day and also oil pulling each morning for 20 minetes first thing.

The relief has been phenomenal, 95%. Just what I needed after 2.5 years of absolute hell.

I believe in the power of Iodine and Borax working together.

I have Curezone and this forum to thank for my progress and a elevated outlook on life. All you Iodine and BoronBorax users have been a great help. As a result of Ted and Ginagirl (curezone) post's, jumping over the wall and trying borax was a breeze.

Lets keep the light on.

Just here to update my usage of Borax as my source of Boron. It's the 14th of July 2010 and I've been ingesting roughly 1/4 tsp of Borax daily for over a year. It has continued to be a great help with my skin mites and now I am using it in a P&B shake to help clear the fungal overgrowth in my intestines from my Candidias. We all have choices to make about what we use for our health and how we use it. My health is ultimately my responsibility, as such I choose to educate myself. Scott"

[YEA]  03/20/2009: Briana from Indianapolis, IN: "I have been taking borax internally for 5 days. I haven't been following the 1/4 tsp/gal rule but have been taking it mixed in hot green tea because I needed to drink a lot of tea and I noticed the borax dissolves better in hot water. Because I didn't have a good method of measuring precisely into 8 oz I just take the tip of my finger, dip it in the borax and whatever sticks to my finger I put in the tea. So far no ill effects so I don't believe I am overdosing. I have been drinking upwards of 10 cups of green tea and Shizandra detox tea (for liver, chest congestion, and cough) per day for the last 5 days. Also I started drinking ACV 2 tbsp and 1/2 tsp baking soda in 8 oz of water yesterday. I also started oil pulling 4 days ago. I mention these other remedies in case they have had an effect on the progress of my illness, but I believe most of the progress has been due to the borax (although the oil pulling is remarkable at removing plaque and tartar, my mouth feels like I just came from the dentist).

I don't usually get sick but my health has been rapidly deteriorating for about 5 weeks. It took me awhile and some research to link the strange acne, skin rash near my eye, and intense sinus headache without much mucus and sensitivity to beer to going to a friend's house for his birthday last month. His pit bull has an odd skin condition unidentified by vets with redness and some hair loss which they say is not mange (not that I have confidence that they would know). I know this because I remember he asked me about it and I gave him an oil mixture of emu oil, VCO, and immune boosting and skin healing essential oils which he says has improved the condition. Anyway I came to conclusion that I had contracted whatever disease the dog has by petting the dog and then probably rubbing my eye. I imagine it involves mites or other small insect, fungus and/or yeast. I have very sensitive acne prone skin, but my acne has been generally under control due to diet, OCM, etc. until just the past few weeks where I broke out with increased rosacea-like redness and odd cysts that did not want to heal. I also had a nonstop sinus headache which drinking more water did not help without much drainage and a cough which did not produce much phlegm. After a couple days of research (which is how I came across the borax treatment for mites and fungus) I self-diagnosed myself as having a combination of candida, fungus infection of lungs and sinuses, and mites infecting the skin. I think I may have already had the candida (probably from working in bars around so much secondhand toxic smoke) and it depressed my immune system.

The very first day I started taking the borax I began to pee green which I was very pleased about since I knew it was from die off. I peed green on and off for a couple of days, and my pee still has a slight tinge to it at times, but I believe most of the candida, bacteria etc. is dead by now. (BTW, I had already been drinking copious amounts of green tea for a couple of days without this effect so I know it was due to the borax) I also treated my face with the borax/H2O2 in water and the acne and rash were almost gone after two days, and the spots are now healing. A rather disturbing effect of the borax taken internally is that you could feel it working. I now know exactly where all my sinus cavities and canals are because I could feel them burning one after another (I did not know I had a cavity in the top of my head and back of my head linked by canals behind the ears and over the top of the head and behind the eyes to the sinus cavities in front. I wonder what these are called?). Interestingly my bad wrist and toes would burn also, and a small area of my lower left abdomen (inflamed intestine maybe?). The most disturbing sensation was to feel critters die all over my body in the middle of the night. Needless to say I did not sleep well, the sensation could drive a person raving mad. Also, yesterday morning after oil pulling my right nostril began to drain lots of thin watery and waxy clear yellow-orange fluid. I have no idea where that was from but I assume it was a good thing to get rid of it.

Three days into the borax treatment my week long headache went away. The strange acne is now healed (5 days - internal and external treatment). I still cough and have some chest congestion but now at least I am coughing productively. I am hoping the chest congestion will clear up soon. My bad wrist and toes do not hurt as much nor pop as much as they used to. Possibly I had beginning stages of RA (I am 29) and the borax killed of the mycoplasma? I don't know but I am happy about it, I didn't expect the treatment to help."

And the result over time. I know from experience natural holistic things do not work over night. I dissolved a 1/8 of a teaspoon of Borax in warm water today, because I noticed that it does not dissolve very well in cold water."

[SIDE EFFECTS]  03/15/2009: Rebecca from Sydney, Australia: "I use a very small amount of borax - half cup or less - in my bath, and I have noticed that whenever I do this I have mild diarrhoea.

Also, since these baths I have noticed a creepy crawly sensation under my skin in just one localised spot on my shoulder. I feel it the most when I first wake up in the mornings, and is absent the rest of the time. Hopefully it is not Morgellon, as there are no other symptoms.

Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks."

[YEA]  01/10/2010: Angela from Cheltenham, England: "My daughter is a student and the house she shares is damp and full of fungus on the walls. Her room is the worst. When I went to pick her up for the Christmas holidays I took a plastic spray bottle of Borax and water (just put enough Borax in so that no more will dissolve). I sprayed the walls with it when I arrived and then wiped all the fungus off. After helping her pack I sprayed the walls again and just left them to dry. This was a last ditch attempt to make things better because the landlord would not do anything.

When I took her back after Christmas I didn't know what we would find but imagine my delight when we walked into her room to find not a trace of mould.

Thanks to all on this website who have written about Borax and how it kills fungus.

I hope this helps others in the same situation.

By the way, I live in the UK and it is impossible to buy Borax in any shop (even Boots). They are now selling something called 'Borax substitute' and no-one will give me a straight answer as to why they won't sell Borax. One assistant in Boots said that it was because old people used to put it in their eyes. Anyway, I eventually ordered a tiny amount from Amazon and to be honest you don't need a huge amount. Though one chemical company said they would sell it to my by the ton at a very good price."

[YEA]  06/26/2014: Michael from Sydney, Australia: "OK, just the facts. I'm taking an almost homoeopathic dilution of borax; 1 rounded teaspoon dissolved in 1 litre of water. Then take 2 to 3 teaspoons per day of this already dilute solution. Much less than I've seen recommended here but it works a treat for me.

On the first day I noticed nothing at all, including no ill effects.
On the second day a thick coating appeared on my tongue, clearly this was yeast being chased out of my system. I also noticed that my skin was much softer. I'm male so I wasn't looking for this but it certainly feels healthier, so yay! In the evening I felt very tired and had to sleep; I have had insomnia forever so this was surprising.
On the third day the many discoloured patches on my skin disappeared - not faded; gone! I've had these patches for about 20 years and I've known they were fungus for all that time and now they are completely gone. Also my hair feels softer and thicker.
Sometime during all of this I noticed that the osteoarthritis in my knees was diminished to such a degree that the pain of walking was almost gone.

It is now the 4th day since I started taking borax and the gains continue unabated. My tongue has cleared up and I'm even losing weight. Lots of weight. In 4 days.

Can this be happening? The sceptic in me wants to reserve opinion but the results so far are so breathtaking that I had to post this. The main point I wanted to make was the extremely dilute solution I'm using, and yet it still works. So, if you are have trouble getting your head around ingesting borax, perhaps you could try this method too. By my reckoning you'll be taking roughly 1/200th of a teaspoon of borax per teaspoon of liquid and you can barely taste it. Hope this helps.

Good luck all."

06/28/2014: Michael from Sydney, Australia replies: "Just thought I'd add a line or two to document the ongoing strangeness that is my borax experience. My teeth have noticeably whitened. I haven't read anything about teeth getting whiter so I'm a little confused. Has anybody else experienced this? Also, regarding the accelerated weight loss, has anybody else experienced anything similar? The only thing I'm doing is taking borax and also rubbing on a little magnesium oil daily.

As for the dilution instructions above, I thought I should let you know that it came from an article I found by a man named Walter Last. The article is titled "The Borax Conspiracy". There's some interesting information in this article, including instructions. FYI - The website I got it from made my browser throw up a warning. I printed it to a pdf and it seems to be ok, but you should exercise due caution."

06/28/2014: Jennysmom2 from Idaho replies: "I asked the same question about weight loss a few weeks ago, and no one replied, so I am answering you now. I am/was taking the borax, (1/4 teaspoon) in water daily. I was losing about 4 ounces of weight per day. This lasted about a week or so and then I stabilized. I gave myself a break from the borax and just continued drinking ACV and baking soda. I am going to start the borax again and hopefully I will continue to lose weight, as I would like to lose 20 pounds. I have not noticed a whitening of teeth, but would not be disappointed if that happened! Would love to know how long you have been taking the borax. Perhaps I should get some magnesium oil. Please reply on your progress."
06/29/2014: Parveen Mittal from Chanidgarh India replies: "Please tell the procedure to use Borax to reduce the weight."
06/29/2014: Michael from Sydney, Australia replies: "Hi Jennysmom2. Happy to reply. Hope it helps. I've been taking borax for 1 (one) week, that's why I'm so surprised at the progress. I tried borax once before with less success and at a higher concentration. Could that account for greater success this time?

I've been trawling the internet looking for answers but haven't found any. Just seems to be the same info going round and round. The most scientific information I've found seems to be the paper by Walter Last that I mentioned previously. Sorry to be of such limited help. For now, I'm monitoring myself as closely as I'm able and taking note of gains as they happen - so far no losses. I'll try to keep posting here of any new developments and hope that helps you and others.

Ultimately I'm hoping to reverse my osteoarthritis. If that happens I think you'll hear me! As mentioned before my knee pain is pretty much gone and I intend to give it 3 months before I go to the doctor to request another x-ray. I guess then we'll see what, if anything, has happened to the structure of my knees.

As for weight loss, I seem to have plateaued too. No idea why so, no help there. I've just added iodine into the mix so now that's; borax, magnesium oil and iodine. I read somewhere that these are complementary and I know from here that iodine can influence weight loss. Guess I'll find out soon. I'll let you know how I go."

06/29/2014: Angela from Los Angeles, CA replies: "Can you please tell me where did you get borax. I was looking on amazon and only see borax for detergent powder. I did not see any borax that we can take it internally. Please advise where to buy borax"

[YEA]  01/21/2014: Gizzy514 from Montreal, Canada: "I recently found out about the benefits of boron... as we know it, borax, and was very impressed with what I found out. As with most trace elements, we must be sure to consume not more than our bodies can handle. With this being said, I am a vegetarian, consume as much organic vegetables and fruits as possible, and try to stay away from processed foods/junk foods. I drink between 500ml-1l of water with 1/8 of a teaspoon (0.625g) of borax dissolved in the water. It has a slightly metallic taste, but after a while it goes away... I wonder if it is possible that since my boron levels have increased, my body doesn't notice it as much? (Question for anyone with an answer). I noted that a lot of people say they cannot ingest the borax, causing indigestion, nausea, etc... I don't think that all the sites mention that borax is a base with a pH level of around 9.5. When that mixes with our stomach acids, it may render the acids unable to properly break down our foods for further digestion. I prepare my water for evening consumption, and I don't space it out and I have had no ill effects to date (I've only been taking it for two weeks, and I can't tell you how fantastic I feel) I skip days as well... My cognitive function has improved, my mood is to die for (crap, no more crabbiness, lol)... my joints feel well oiled, and no aches and pains...I am a fairly healthy, active 54 year old and has since developed energy to start lifting weights, getting back in shape... my oomph is back. Another incredible think I noticed was that my skin has improved totally... I never had "bad" skin, but most noticeably are my hands... It is very cold where I live, and usually in the winter months, I suffer from dry hands (not cracked, just dry skin) and my hands are soooooo smooth and soft! No hand cream, no oils... I have put nothing on my hands. Any cuts heal quicker and my appetite is balanced...I am not craving foods, or anything to replace what my poor body has been missing: boron. The regulator of minerals. A superb building block essential for normal, healthy function of living things. Just make sure you take the required amounts & remember it may affect your digestive acids...so my tip, if it works for you, is not to drink it just before or after a meal...I am waiting at least 2.5 - 3 hours after my last meal."

01/21/2014: Prioris from Fl replies: "I take borax on empty stomach. Borax tastes "soapy".

Mixing it with random food makes no sense. If people are doing that, I could imagine all sorts of digestive problems. Never heard someone use the word "metallic" to describe it. If taste is not palatable, just dilute it with more water.

I think the chances of toxicity is extremely low. I think one should distinguish between first time user loading dose (i would say around 3 weeks) and long term dose.

I think the loading dose can be higher but Ted's just trying to err on the side of caution just to be safe. One should review the symptom list for boron toxicity and just be aware of it. That should be enough to keep one out of trouble, if it should happen, you will be right on top of it."

01/21/2014: Tcoffey from Syracuse, Ny replies: "For all of you who use Borax, I've always wanted to ask, why not just take a Boron supplement? I've seen them online. I'm sure you have your reasons and I would be interested to hear them. Fascinating stuff! Thanks!"
01/22/2014: Timh from Ky, Usa replies: "Suffering from extreme pathogen toxicity I got desperate and Liposomed Borax by the same method as Vit-C. This method proved way more effective in comparison to a half cup in a hot bath. I drank 2 2oz glasses of Lipo Borax for aprox 2 months whereupon I reduced to 1 dose daily and now almost only one dose every other day. I also fallow the Lipo Borax w/ Lipo Vit-C w/ very good results. This combo protocol seems to be, at least theoretically, a very powerful anti-cancer treatment."
01/22/2014: Prioris from Fl replies: "Boron alone won't kill the infection. Boric acid is also what is needed to kill the infection. Once the RA infection is killed then one can try supplementing with boron only for preventative and see if that keeps things at bay. One should take some magnesium with borax since a lack of magnesium could render the borax protocol ineffective."

[YEA]  04/19/2013: Tamara from Fort Collins, Colorado, Usa: "I've waited to write a post on this for a long time as I have been adjusting our treatments to see if they really are effective. At this point I'm pretty confident about borax's ability to stem fungal hair loss and other ailments that my boyfriend has, although this is still very much a work in progress. We are also trying to heal and remedy other ailments that might or might not be connected. This is going to be long, sorry!

It all started a few years ago when I noticed that my boyfriend's beard was getting patchy and also very itchy. He's very laissez faire about everything health-wise, so I just waited until he felt ready to address the problem. He's almost 40 and has hair loss typical of a male his age on top of his head, which he also scratches. Soon, the beard patchiness was getting very obvious; to the point he was not growing hair on his mustache in certain places, and it was even showing when he did shave. I started to tease him that he looked like Hitler, because it wasn't growing past the width of his nose on one side. That's when he started to notice. He had large patches on his cheeks where hair wasn't growing, either.

A month later we moved from sunny Colorado to rainy Seattle and he developed a small patch of ringworm on his back. That's when I put my foot down and decided that we were going to treat his fungal infections instead of waiting for them to spread further. As soon as I saw the ringworm I made him jump in a bath with a 1/4 cup of borax and scrubbed his back (and head, neck, and chest) with the borax in a paste with water. I had him leave it on for about 5 minutes. He said that his skin felt like it was burning, but mildly, like a rash. After the bath he said his skin felt good and wasn't itchy. As a health experimenter, I felt that this was a good sign that his hair loss was a fungal problem.

Within a week of daily baths his ringworm disappeared. Within a month of scrubbing his face with borax he no longer had patchy beard growth. I had him shave more frequently and "borax" his face, along with applying tea tree oil and coconut oil, as well. He shaves intermittently, sometimes twice a week, sometimes twice a month and isn't very consistent with doing anything but borax. Even then, he forgets why until his face becomes itchier. We continue to put a few tablespoons of borax in his bath water (he likes baths) to counteract the chlorine, fluoride, and any continuing fungal issues he may still have.

I was still concerned, however, that we were just chasing after the fungus and not treating it. If he didn't take a bath every day or didn't scrub his face with borax when he did, his beard would get itchy and slightly patchy. It would go away the next time he scrubbed, but it was still disconcerting to me. The problem is, I am not him, and therefore it is not my life to dictate. If it were me, I would immediately assume that I might have a case of mild systemic candida and treat it as such, probably by following Bill's protocols. He is his own person and does not want to give up his Dr. Pepper habit, hates vegetables, won't take anything that tastes bad (like alkalizing remedies): pretty much the opposite of treating candida. Ok, c'est la vie. So I work with what I can do for him, and offer solutions when I can.

After giving him some information on borax and boron several months ago, he decided that he wanted to explore the possibility of boron supplementation. He started taking a boron and mineral supplement and found relief for a few niggling concerns. For one thing, his knees stopped hurting, which he hadn't even realized were hurting! Also, he found that his hormones started to perk up and found he had a libido again, after seeming to lose it without realizing either! (Maybe he needs to work on his biofeedback response?) So far the pills seemed to be an effective remedy, but still weren't addressing the fungal issues like I had hoped.

Somewhere along the line, probably realizing the cost of expensive boron pills, he felt ready to take Ted's borax in water remedy. We already use borax for baths, cleaning, laundry and killing mold in our damp apartment, so I have plenty on hand. I decided, for ease of use to use the "concentrated" dosing recommended in the Walter Last article on Borax, here: http://www.health-science-spirit.com/borax.htm. I use warm distilled water and dissolve the borax in it and use this concentrate, a teaspoon at a time. He takes this twice a day for five days and then takes a break for two days. We have found this to work very well for us.

This hasn't been a completely side-effect free, experiment, however. I believe that he has die-off effects from the candida, as well as halide poisoning symptoms. We seem to be able to mitigate these effects with Bill's liver protocol, as well as avoiding sources of chlorine, fluoride and bromine, especially. He also feels big mood swings, probably from his hormones trying to rebalance, and goes from being very grumpy one day to cheery, almost manic, the next day. I'm still trying to work on his hormone balancing and haven't found a solution to that yet.

As for a list of benefits, he's found great relief from his facial fungal problems. He no longer needs to be as vigilante about scrubbing his face with the borax paste. He has a renewed libido and no longer has painful knees. And the biggest, so far unmentioned, have been the cessation of symptoms of his allergies. He used to have very bad allergies, which I've been trying forever to remedy with everything I can on EC, including honey, apple cider vinegar (which is a staple in our house), probiotics, and countless other things that I can't even remember because they didn't work. At this time last year (and every year previous) he was a big, soggy ball of running nose, eyes, itchy throat, and sneezing, with sinus headaches on top. Today he can stop his allergies from turning on full bore with a sip of water with borax in it. It's a very big difference, although it is not perfect. He still has lingering issues, but so far so good.

I have been a faithful reader of EC now for over 6 years and read the Real-Time Posts page nearly every day. It's exciting for me to read all of the posts of people being helped by the information shared on this lovely site. I like to look at the wealth of info provided here and put together the connections between folks and their symptoms or remedies. I hope that somebody can gain some useful information from this post. Borax is a Yay! For us."

My husband avoids it now (including, in fact especially, the organic wholemeal bread that all the medics think is 'good' for you!! ) and sees amazing improvements in all the above symptoms. We're all different (see the Blood Type Diet by dr Peter D'adamo for more info. ) and so react differently to foods it gives me bad constipation so I've stayed away from it for a long time!

We eat whole rye, Kamut and spelt breads and crackers so you don't have to give bread up!!

If you're going to do this you do need to look at the labels because there's wheat in sauces and all sorts of foods that you wouldn't have believed!

Good luck. Oh also for pains give up pork products!"

I am 53, get alot of bloating after eating, have toe nail fungus-all 10, probaly athletes feet, sore joints-almost all of them, a pounding headache the other day, which thank god I seldom get. Swelling in the left ankle and calf. I did just a bit less than 1/8 teaspoon, into a glass of almond milk. Drank in down slowly while watching tv. That was wednesday nite, didnt take any thursday, and today {Friday}when I went to get groceries, walking down the aisle, all of a sudden I noticed my hips didnt hurt at all as usual. I also did Borax and water to soak my feet while watching tv. Tonite I will repeat the process, this time rubbing the borax in over my feet after soaking them, and getting around the nail beds better with a small brush. I feel sure that sooner or later this or one of these homemade cures will work, so far my hips are much happier. I've done all the store otc for the feet problem-nothing worked. I continue to read exstensively on this Borax subject."

Thank you for your time for posting what you did post already and I hope you post an update."

[YEA]  09/17/2011: Stella from Groningen, Netherlands: "I am a 48 years old female in relative good health except for chronic pain due to repetitive stress injuries. I have been taking D Sodium Tetra Borate now pretty much daily since June when I found out the organic farmers in Haway were supplementing all living things to protect from radiation. I pretty much eyeball an 8 of a teaspoon using the handle of a spoon or a fork as a shovel, anyway this to say that therefore it's been now 3 months and I have absolutely no complaints. Immediately I started feeling better. I find the tap water * no fluoride where I am * tastes better with borax and is easier to drink. I quit for 3 days once and I swear my chronic pain got a lot worse. My lungs have never been happier and my sinusitis is gone. Seriously I feel it's doing me a great deal of good. The first day I took it sure I was a bit light headed and kind of sleepy but nothing unpleasant or anything and after the first week it no longer happened.

I am one of those people super sensitive to chemicals, I can't even take more than 400 mg of Ibuprofen in a given day, and cannot take it for more than 2 days without severe intestinal complications, same goes for a lot of what doctors prescribe, in fact I had to switch to making my own colloidal silver because antibiotics were just totally disrupting my body, I haven't touched an antibiotic since 1998. I also occasionally make chlorine dioxide for internal use * sodium chlorite mixed with citric acid = Cl2O * and can tolerate it also well :) hope this helps... do not dwell in hypochondria, seriously how can you trust people who condone things like Artane, Risperidol and Prozac to name a few??? and allow the sale of hydrogenated oils and fats for human consumption not that it would be ok to give it to animals...

Anyway, I will continue my experiment and listen to my body, because my body tells me everything, so if the situation changes I will come and update, I would like to find more info on the rate of elimination for example."
