Bloodroot Cures
The infamous herb called Bloodroot is a perennial flowering plant native to eastern North America. Bloodroot also goes by the names: sanguinaria canadensis, bloodwort, red puccoon root, pauson and tetterwort.
Medical Uses: (http://2bnthewild.com/plants/H261.htm)
Native Americans, early settlers and herbal practitioners have prescribed Bloodroot for myriad medical conditions from skin cancers to sore throats. Its most persistent and possibly valid use takes advantage of the flesh destroying properties of the root juice or powered root for treating conditions of the skin such as ringworm, warts, polyps, fungal growths and the like. Researchers are investigating the root's value in cancer treatment. An extract has long been used in toothpaste and mouthwash to fight plaque and gingivitis and this use is now sanctioned by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The root has been used internally, in very small doses, to stimulate the digestive system and as an emetic. Self medication should be avoided, as the plant can be toxic. Even small doses can produce unwanted effects such as visual distortions.

TED'S FEEDBACK
"I have recently decided to add two more things that are extremely important to Emergency Medicine kit. It is:
- Bloodroot tincture
- Clove oil
- B complex.
The bloodroot tincture have cured many parasites inside the body - including the brain, as well as Morgellons and many parasites identified in Hulda Clark. The bloodroot tincture also eliminate hepatitis C, hepatitis B, colon polyps and a host of many other major diseases due to parasites, tough HPV virus, and has an anti-cancer properties. The key to successfully using it is to also use vitamin B complex as well as getting a low dose dissolved in a glass of water and baking soda to help healing of damaged tissues.
The clove oil is needed to handle diabetes attack, sudden circulator problems or numbness, as well as unexplained dizziness, food poisoning and cholera. That's why it'is added to the emergency aid kit.
It is also important that bloodroot page is added from the results in treatment of Morgellon's disease, internal parasites, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Colon polyps and cancer tumor. It's fairly effective in a handling of these that it deserves attention. From now on the bloodroot will be added to many remedies because of its effectiveness in dealing with a range of conditions.

APPLICATION TIPS
07/05/2010: Gail from Sacramento, California writes: "Sorry to hear some are having bad experiences with bloodroot salve. The best black salve I've used for years contains bloodroot, galangal, sheep sorrel and red clover. It works on surface skin moles and warts as well as tumors beneath the skin because it kills the growth and it's roots underneath the skin. ESSENTIAL to know however, is that the user should leave the paste ONLY 12 hours. Then the paste should be thoroughly washed off removing every particle of the salve, preferably with peroxide. Vitamin E should then be applied to the wound itself, and vaseline to the bandage to prevent sticking. The wound should be redressed the same way, vitamin E on the wound and vaseline on a clean bandage 2-4 times per day. It is ESSENTIAL the user understand that to remove moles with roots or tumors beneath the skin, that the area must be kept very moist and completely covered. The growth will return ONLY if you have not killed the roots. Be prepared to witness the mini "volcano" reaction as your body pushes bits of the growth right through the skin, bit by bit. Resist the temptation to pull or prod anything off. Allow your body to push out the debris on it's own time. Just keep the area clean, moist and covered and your body will do the rest. If you've had the misfortune of harming or burning facial skin, vitamin E will help repair skin damage at the cellular level. Be sure to use natural vitamin E (d-alpha tocopherol) liberally on those areas at night. If facial growths or moles are small and appear to be without roots, a good alternative to black salve that isn't as strong is ACV or Logol's iodine. But again, apply vitamin E to surrounding skin as they can also burn skin. Many health experts also recommend taking vitamin A internally to protect the skin from further unwanted skin growths. I hope this helps!"

07/23/2011: Dave from Astoria, New York replies: "Hello Gail,I've been doing much research on black bloodroot salves in order to get rid of a facial mole. I've bought a good version of it from internatural.com, which contains all the ingredients you've mentioned, but I'm still not totally clear on the application schedule. For instance, as stated, it should only be applied for 12 hours, then kept well mositurized. Is that the only time/application needed? Or should I keep it covered and moist for a couple days, then apply Black salve another 12 hours, say on the 3rd night?
I've just seen many websites, probably FDA and Dermatologist association sponsored scary sites showing people with half of their face missing. From what I understand, the salve should not be spread around the lesion, but rather used sparingly directly on top of the lesion. Please share any tips/answers you'd have, they are greatly appreciated.
Best Regards,
Dave"

BLOODROOT AND CHILDREN
01/24/2010: Pam from Ca, Us writes: "Ted, what is the bloodroot dosege for a seven yr old child. i've read on this site that 5-10 drops, but is this the same for a child with a tumor. Also is it best for it to be applied on the tumor instead of internally?"
Replies02/01/2010: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "In an adult dose, the dose I listed is a very low dose for an adult. The dose can be higher even for an adult. The limiting factor behind bloodroot tincture use is too much induces vomiting or emetic, which is what is traditionally used. Therefore if a person can take it just below that level and as frequent, this is usually the best dose. Therefore a beginning child dose is often starting at 2 drops and the frequency of dose can be 5 or more times a day. The bloodroot tincture can be applied on and also taken internally for the tumor."

BLOODROOT FOR DOGS

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED] 05/03/2006: Deirdre from LA writes: "Last month I ordered bloodroot paste on Ebay. I wanted to use it on my dog who has a few benign growths, but after reading about the pain it can cause, decided to test it on a mole on my wrist first. I applied a tiny bit the first night and covered it up with a bandaid. Didn't do much. The next night I applied the paste more liberally. That night I was awakened with shooting pains in the area of the mole. The pain continued for the next few days on and off. However, within 2 days, all the tissue surrounding the mole had died off and turned gray (if this had been on my face, I would have freaked out!). On one website I researched, this dying off effect is supposed to be normal and only happen if the tissue is unhealthy. At any rate, after 1 week the mole had not fallen off and I had a quarter size of new pink tissue growing around it. Very interesting. I have since been trying it on my dog very very slowly. 1 small application every 10 days or so. It seems to be working but is taking ages. He licks the growth for a day or two after I apply the paste, so I think there is some pain for him. I may just end up having them removed at the vet even though he is quite old. I also read about iodine to treat skin growths, so that may be another option in the future."

In ordering another product for one of my cats on the site Plant Cures, I notice there is what I believe is more common sense use & application of bloodroot. This is a quote from the web doc, who I personally have had wonderful help for cats with bladder issues re bloodroot-"Everyone now thinks that Bloodroot is caustic and can "burn off healthy skin" just because of the association of bloodroot with the highly caustic chloride of zinc that is in these salves! Chloride of zinc is, in fact, what is in dry cell batteries and it is simply hydrochloric acid soaked zinc powder. Please wake up people!"
I believe the man has something there! I am thinking of trying his drops on my baby's tumor and still giving him bloodroot capsules."

My husband did try it on a rather large skin tag. It was difficult to cover w/bandaid. It got really gross also but one day it turned BLACK!! and eventually fell off. I guess the tag was too large (about 1/2 inch long???) so he had to do it again. Both time it definitely was painful. But it now is just a little bump but always pink. I don't think he wants to try it anymore. He cut off another one that was smaller and that was the easier way to go."

[YEA] 10/29/2009: Nycole from White City, Oregon writes: "My Grandmother discovered this remedy shortly before her son (my uncle) passed away from pancreatic cancer. She had tried all kinds of different things mainstream health care and herbal care but nothing seemed to stop the progression. As you may know pancreatic cancer is one of the most progressive types of cancer which made it even more difficult. She discovered "black Salve" (blood root and zinc paste) only a month or two before he passed away by that time the cancer had spread all over his body. She began applying it to a large area with the most cancer and wrapping him with gauze. It began working immediately the cancer was beginning to come through the skin in clumps. Though she continued the process for a long time it did not work quick enough at the stage that he was in and he passed away shortly. Since then my grandmother has made it a mission to let people know about this alternative cancer remedy. This has been used by Indians for hundreds of years. It remove warts, virus's, moles and cancers. When Chemo fails and makes you sick and weak and you hair falls out there is a better method. I will warn you this is neither a painless or pretty process, but it is effective. My grandma has taken on many "patients" and supplied them with this black salve and healing salve and showed them how to do it. She has had over 20 successful cases where any cancer from lung to breast to skin have literally disappeared and saved death row people from death. She has them keep going to the doctors for regular check-ups and x-rays by the time they are done with the regimen the are healthy and the doctors are baffled. This is something that needs to be known about and something doctors need to stop denying. I will warn you again it is painful and it is not pretty and it might leave a little scaring buy between life and death could you deal with that right? What you do is go to the doctor get you x-ray apply it over the area that is most infected with cancer you begin to see it come out day by day. You want to rotate every other day with heal salve to heal a little too. but if you can take the pain for a month or so you should be able to get rid of he cancer and live many more happy years. Beats years of chemo huh :)"

But if worst came to worst, I would try internal/external bloodroot alone or attempt this recipe if I could and a good commercial option became unavailable."

[YEA] 06/14/2007: Susan from South Texas, USA writes: "I have been using bloodroot products for approximately 5 years now. I have spent my most of my life in the sun at beaches and am paying dearly for it now in the way of skin cancer and I know that is my fault not the medical communities. I had been going to dermatoligists faithfully since the early 90's when I noticed what I believed to be precancerous plaques on various spots on my face. Doc's consistently said "no" when I requested biopsies. Mind you every year I went for a check up, I also have many moles. In 2002 I began to really worry and 6 months before the actualy diagnosis of BCC he was still telling me not to worry. So turns out tha ALL of the spots I was pointing out to them were BCC and I had Moh's surgery on my nose and lip, the other 4 spots were removed totally in the office. The result is a horrible scar that looks like I was attacked with a knife, I guess I actually was in a manor of speaking. It has taken time to get used to it, but everytime someone stares I know they are wondering "what the hell happened to her". I believe the plastic surgeon could have done a better job, but that is another story. On a recheck the dermatologist said that there were 2 additional ones and both biopsied positive for BCC. More Moh's surgery was suggested. This time I decided that I would search for alternatives. I probably got the last container of Cansema from altcancer before they arrested that poor guy. I used the product as directed and sure enough, both sites reacted as described. When using it I also have a "control" area with no blemishes, moles, etc., that I also put the salve and these areas have never reacted. I have used various formulas, all have worked. I have treated myself 10 times on spots that gave me concern due to a change in a mole, scaley spots, etc. I know the first 2 were cancerous and suspect the additional ones that I treated without biopsy were cancerous but will never truely know. Each and every time I was treating a spot, my body reacted with extreme pain, fever, edema and swelling at the site. I had to treat one spot on my face 2x but all the spots on my face healed with very minimal scarring. I treated various spots on my arms and hands. I also had some reffered pain when treating certain spots. But my reason for wanting to caution everyone about the potency and seriousness of treating unknown spots is this. Last year I was treating a mole on my back that was itching and had some changes in appearance. Years before this I had noticed a growing lump in the general vicinity of this mole. This "lump" had grown in the years since discovery, but I had asked doctors about it and they said, do nothing, it is a lipoma. It grew to approx. 5 x 1 " and was like a sausage under the skin. I was concerned about it but figured that it was a lipoma because I have other lumps in other places and had some of them removed. Not really thinking about this "lump" I put the salve on the mole above it and YOWZA, the "lump" reacted violently, and came to the surface, I was incapacitated for 2 months, was in regular contact with the makers of the salve I was using. I was ill to say the least. The pain was intolerable. I had to use pain meds that I had on hand. My family wanted me to go to the doctor, but what could they do? If it was cancer there was no way I was going to let them interrupt the process and I had to assume that it was. I was in mental and physical torment for 60 days. To top it off our daughter was getting married and I had to put it together. I was taking enzymes, AHCC, many other suppliments. So this huge sausage shaped tumor came out, just as the small ones did. Gross is too small of a word to describe it. It left a significant scar on my back and is still healing to this day. To add to this, several months later my brother was diagnosed with a rare benign growth that was IN his spinal cord. It was a 7" long and sausage shaped and he had it was successfully removed. When I was researching it, there is also a form of this growth that when it is outside the spinal cord it is normally a very agressive cancer, but I will never know. Several months ago I treated a spot on my forehead and ankle. The spot on the forhead was small and came out within a week. The one on the leg developed into a quarter size reaction area and it would not heal. After alot of trepidation I went to a dermatologist who cauterized the wound. At first glance he said that it looked like a brown reculse spider bite but when I told him how it got there he didn't have much to say and said that I shouldn't use the product. What else could he say? I don't know what happened with the one on my ankle, but it made me very ill also. I have done alot of reading on black salves and other cancer salves and they have a pretty deep history. Like many I just wish there could be some scientific studies done to see exactly what type of tissue it reacts with. I have read small mention of these type products reacting with tissue infected with fungi, virus and bacteria. I am not really concerned about convincing the established medical community. After the 2 very serious reactions I had, I am more cautious in using it. There is a book called "Cancer Salves" that had led me to a better understanding about cancers in general, but what she says is true...approach these salves with alot of respect and research. NEVER smear an area with the salves just to see if something is there. There seems to be a network that I could never connect to that probably has more help and info on the use of these, but could never find a practitioner in Texas. They all seem to be on the west coast. If there are any homeopaths, ND, etc., in my area I could never find one. Well that is my story on cancer salves. I believe they work, but I also believe that there is more to them and it would be nice if I could get some answers on the reactions that occured on my leg and back. Be totally informed before you use the salves, come to your decision to use it by your research, not on someone elses. And have potent pain meds available. You don't want to get half way into treating one of these and decide you can't take the pain. Good Luck."

The only problem with this treatment is that it removed the pigment from those areas and are now white and it is impossible to cover them. I am presently using the same treatment for the lesions on my face hoping for the same result knowing that I will lose pigment but that is better than the red, raised, scaly lesion."

1/2 cup powdered Blood Root (Sanguinaria Canadensis)
1/2 cup Zinc Chloride, crystals or liquid
1/2 cup common white flour
1 1/2 cup warm water
100ml Chaparral extract or 100gm of powdered Chaparral (Larrea mexicana)
Pre-mix all but the water, thoroughly, before adding to the water. Using a stainless steel double boiler. Put in water, then stir in the other ingredients. Stir in well using a wooden spoon. Cook for thirty minutes over boiling water, stirring constantly. Application is much the same as cansema. Apply a thin layer (2-3mm) of the paste over the affected area and cover for 24 hours. Then remove the covering but do not disturb the lesion at all, do not attempt to pull the cancer out at any time, it should fall out in 10 days or so. Some people with sensitive skin put Vaseline or antibiotic ointment around the cancer so that the paste does not irritate the skin."

They said she did not show results of HPV and needed no further testing/biopsy, and that the first diagnosis should not have been made because at the time she had a bacterial infection. I'm thinking that they are trying to prove that they need more gov't funding and don't care about the emotional upset they are causing to their patients. I myself have not found them reliable in their diagnosis'."
09/28/2011: Cancer Survivor from Central, Fl replies: "Regards HPV. If your daughter does not have HPV now I STRONGLY suggest Gardisil. When I was a teen or early 20 I was sent to dysplasia clinic at a hospital & then they said I was ok. Uh HUH. 30 years later.... I got anal cancer. And it was "cloacogenic" which is strongly tied to HPV 16 or 18. EVERYONE GET your teens innoculated. FYI - I volunteered at Planned Patrenthood working with doctors and I think it is "preposterous" that you feel that made up DX for funding. Wrong DX would RUIN thier reputation. Much better they refer you if something looks funny. I would CONTINUE WITH HPV TESTING.. BUT GET THE SHOTS. ANAL CANCER IS NOT FUN.. Your skin falls off... Over and over. Farah fawcett DIED... She was Dx four months before me. Make sure you see a GYN and he does rectal exam. Good luck."

MOLES

[YEA] 05/08/2010: Stranger from Dillwyn, Va, United States writes: "As many people here have noted, bloodroot is an effective solution to unsightly moles and with a felt improvement to one's appearance and quality of life. Dermatologists will charge hundreds of dollars to cut out moles, but with bloodroot, moles can be removed for the cost of only about ten dollars. The scalpel of the doctor will always leave visible line scars, but bloodroot, which is all-natural, will not always scar. I do have a few scars from using bloodroot, but with proper treatment these can be reduced in time. Whether a scar does result seems to be due to the size and location of the mole. Larger moles and the areas around them will turn white from the application of bloodroot. Then, after a few days, the mole will simply shrivel and pop out, leaving a crater which will eventually fill and become covered with skin. I have had scabs form over other smaller moles on my face, and in those cases, the moles came off when the scab peeled away. Red marks larger than the mole were left. These eventually faded with daily treatments of vitamin E oil, which is another miracle cure. I tried special scar reducing cream, and this did nothing. With only a few treatments with vitamin E oil, scarred areas lightened quickly, and within only a couple days, I saw new skin growth. Currently, I am treating scars on my chest from the removal of a few moles that were like fly specks. With time, I'm hopeful that these will heal over as well. Generally, bloodroot works best with larger moles, and it seems to do more damage with the smaller dots. My theory is that the mole tissue absorbs the bloodroot, but around smaller pigmented spots, bloodroot only damages the skin, thus causing worse scarring. On a small speck on my leg, the bloodroot, although applied directly, missed the spot completely, apparently because the mole, being small, did not have any mass of tissue to absorb it. I might suggest simply learning to live with the small mole specks which do not rise above the skin surface, but I do highly recommend it for taking out larger and more unsightly moles. Once the area is white or scabbed, treat it with aloe for healing. Then, when the mole and/or scab is gone, use vitamin E to prevent scarring."

[YEA] 07/31/2009: Lisa from Mabou, Nova Scotia writes: "Bloodroot, grown often as an ornamental in gardens has proven to be an amazing remedy for the removal of facial moles!!! I had on, dark brown mole on my chin that grew darker and larger over the years. I stumbled upon this remedy and decided to try it. Absolutely amazing! The pulverized root mixed with a little cayenne pepper and a drop of grapefuit seed extract was applied to the lightly scratched surface of the mole. This was covered with a bandaid and left overnight. In the morning I applied a hot compress for 1 minute. Then the bandaid was removed. A scab had formed over the surface of the mole. I applied an antibiotic ointment over this. It is important to let the scab fall of in it's own time! After three (!) days the scab fell off and my mole I had lived with for 15 years is COMPLETELY gone!!!"

[WARNING!] 11/18/2008: Carolyn from Bay City, MI USA writes: "I used bloodroot paste on a mole on my stomach. This is what I learned: It is very powerful. Be sure to put it ONLY on the spot you want gone. That's what I did at first, but when it got all white around it, I put more paste all over that too! I mistakenly thought that it was trying to reattach. Over and over for about 4 days. Not a good idea. Now I realize I should have been careful to put it only on the spot itself. The resulting area would most likely have been much smaller.
It developed into a big sore. Was swollen and red and hurt like heck! BUT each day the redness and soreness lessened, so I wasn't too worried about it. I used antibiotic cream with a pain killer on bandaid and kept it covered. It was rather interesting watching the process, even though pretty gross. Then the center of the thing got sorta rubbery and began to loosen around the edges. Now that hurt, but I realized that it was getting ready to fall out. When it came out, it left a pretty deep looking hole about the size of a quarter. All in all this process took about 2 weeks, but the crater that it left is filling in nicely.
At no time did it seem to be infected, all fluid was clear, and I could see improvement each day.
I will be much more careful should I decide to use it again."
