Lady's Mantle cured Fibrocystic Breasts

My sister has many Fibrocystic Breasts the largest one is one sm. Before a month I asked her to drink Lady's Mantle tea (Alchemilla vulgaris), she couldn't drink more than one cup a day because she had a sever headache and dizziness of it and she stopped it after one week. Last week she saw her doctor, after made Ultrasonography she told her that the cysts are vanished.

Before 2 months I used it for a cyst out the breast (on the skin) I drank one cup a day without any side effect after 10 days the cyst turn to boil, few days the boil had excreted its contents and the skin cured without any scars on it.

Lemons are wonder food! I use whole organic lemons to stop painful breast lumps. After washing the lemon WITH SOAP! I cut it up and put everything, skin, pulp, fiber and juice in the blender with a little water. I store the extra in a glass container and take 1-2 teaspoons in water every morning. No sugar. I love to chew the pulp but have to be careful to rinse with water and then use baking soda rinse to protect teeth from acid.

Hello Redwine,

That's very interesting. I noticed when I drank a tea of lemon and ginger before my period that I had a much easier period. I researched it and found that both of those ingredients detox the liver of excess hormones. It seems that our livers are toxic and need a good flush. I'm going to try your recipe!

I am 42 and have had fibrocystic breasts for years. I use lugol's iodine to treat them. It works every time. I just wish I didn't have to keep using it. I take 2-5 drops orally and always with food or it gives me a sore tummy. Sometimes I apply it topically but orally gives me much faster relief if I need it. I use the protocol for using iodine from the breast cancer choices website.

I have fibrocystic breasts and they get very painful the closer I get to my period. Staying away from caffeine helps, but I have remarkable results using the following: magnesium, vitamin e and vitamin d3 every day. I take the magnesium at night (see my post about magnesium for insomnia) and 1 vitamin d3 (5000 iu) capsule and 1 vitamin e (400iu) capsule at lunch. I am not sure which of the 3 supplements is doing the trick, or if it is the combination of the 3, but I highly recommend trying them all if you have fibrocystic breasts.

Have you read Lynne Farrow's book: The Iodine Crisis? She talks about the connection between breast disease and lack of iodine. I have tried most of the remedies on here for breast pain. It starts right at day 15 and have varying degrees of intensity. I'm tracking what I eat and noticing how that effects the pain. BUT there are still days, like yesterday, that I was in so much pain i had to stay at home and felt like crying. I'm taking lugol's 6 drops each morning but that doesnt seem to have any effect. Does anyone have any other suggestions regarding iodine since it seems like there are so many different types. I have tried evening primrose oil (2600 mg per day), vitamin E (400 IU) etc...

Thanks for the feedback. I actually drink little to no caffeine at all which is why this is all so mysterious. From my own research lumpy, painful breasts are not a pre-cursor to breast cancer. Painful yes, difficult yes, but cancer no. I don't want other women coming on this site and being scared like I was...impt to remember we are not doctors.

I may up my iodine dose to 10 drops a day and see how that works. I do take magnesium every day. I'm watching my diet more now too. Giving up dairy, eating more organic greens.

If anyone has other suggestions let me know.

I was taking evening primrose oil for the same thing. It didn't seem to help until I started upping the dosage. I now take 1 1,000 mg capsule 3 times a day (morning, noon, evening). It worked within 12 hours. I had tried flax seed oil well blended in yogurt too, but the evening primrose oil works best for me. I got mine at Trader Joe's -- very cheap. Says it is hexane free so maybe some brands are much more effective than others.

My comments are for Rena from New York: dated Jan 4, 2009. I do not know if the following will help you, but for normal breast soreness most women feel before their period, jumping on a rebounder (mini trampoline) will eliminate the tenderness/soreness. You need to jump daily and start when you are not feeling any pain so by the time of the month that you are normally sore, (in your case, day 15) you should be surprised that you are not suffering any discomfort at all. Work up to rebounding at least 45 minutes daily. It's easy to do, although I should warn you it's like any exercise. You will feel your insides "exercise" sore at first. So work up to the 45 minutes. Also a cheap Wal-Mart type rebounder is not a good idea; there is hardly any bounce to them. The bounce is what moves the lymphatic system and eliminates the tenderness/soreness.

If lymphatic drainage is an issue, it may be easier and more comfortable to locate the pressure point for breasts on your feet. I found a 'special breast lymphatic drainage' hotspot on a reflexology body map and had amazing results overnight - engorgement and discomfort subsided dramatically. You will find the spot near your outside ankle bone more or less in line with your middle toe. The spot will likely be rather tender (mine was). I gently massaged the spots on both feet for a few minutes. I now make a point of massaging my feet every day. Good luck.

Hi Rena; I used Lugols (5%) for my FBD and it worked very well, but it took almost half a year before it worked properly. The biggest difference happened when I upped my dose to 50 mg a day; aprox 8 drops of the 5% lugols (or 25 drops of the 2 %)

In addition you may want to supplement with selenium, zink + good protein to keep your Thyroid in shape. Good luck; and dont give up!

I have a question for Gina from Oslo. Did you have your iodine load tested before using Lugol's? Also have you had your thyroid function tested since using Lugol's. I would like to try Lugol's for my FBD but am leary. Do you plan to use indefinitely? Thanks!

Hi; no doctor involved in this I can assure you; no one in Norway are doing this test. I took a chance and self medicated me with lugols after reading about it on the internet. I have used it for 10 months now. First thing I noticed was that my nails stopped splitting. Next my body temperature went up; I am now almost back to my old self. More energy, skin improved etc.

Then the breast-pain ceased and is now more or less gone. (I have had FBDfor 20 years.) I plan to use it until further; as long as I feel I need it. I have given lugols to my kids to; with great success; improved at school, stop infection.

Have been pulling for about a week with organic sunflower oil. I have had fibrositictic breasts for over a year--the outside of left breast was a large cystic mass. That mass has almost completly dissapeared! My face and neck have been breaking out with pimples(i am rarely without at least ONE zit-) It just seemes that the pulling has brought out ALL the pimples that were "waiting" under the skin. I also have a "blooming" cold sore in the exact, and ONLY place i have had one( 3x) in the past. I guess it "pulled" out the dormant herpes virus. I am going to buy some other oils today(like olive, and hemp), as i have read that it is beneficial to alternate. I am feeling "strangely" tired this morning. any feedback would be awsome----thankyou (i have to go spit out my oil!

I'm going to try sunflower oil. Dr. Oz talked about safflower oil, which reminded me how sunflower oil is one of the few oils considered good for kapha, in ayurveda. Fibrocystic disease of the tissue is considered to be a kapha imbalance (excess water & mucous in the tissues). Susan from Saratoga Springs, thank you (I'm a Skidmore graduate:)

I've been taking Rhodiola for 5 weeks and have increased energy and have lost about 15 pounds that I have been struggling with for the last 5 years. I have had breast cysts that have disappeared and my memory has definitely improved. 6 weeks ago I attempted to climb the 7 flights of stairs to my condo when the elevator was out. I had to stop and rest at each floor. Today I take the stairs instead of the elevator without stopping at all.

When I started taking Rhodiola, my daughter had told me about it but I didn't know much about the herb only that it would give me an energy boost that I really needed. The only negative factor that I have experienced is insomnia, so now I make sure that I don't take the herb after about 3pm. I take 2 - 250 mg per day. One in the morning as soon as I get up with 10 oz of warm distilled water and the juice of 1/2 freshly squeezed lemon, and one around 3pm at my work breaktime with lots of water.

I began making eating Turmeric paste that I made from Turmeric Powder 5 years ago. I am 45 now and have had fibrocystic breast tissue all of my life since I can remember. I began making the drink and having it 2 times a day and if not drinking tea would put it in my scrambled eggs and saute with onions or in my ground beef. I use turmeric root in my home-made organic chicken broth and beef broth too. Basically I get it however I can into my diet.

My skin became radiant and very soft all over and my face glowed. And my husband said my skin felt damp. It was a major change from my very dry skin in contrast. And finally I noticed that there was something different about my breasts. And my husband actually pointed out that they weren't lumpy anymore. I've always had that kind of breast tissue and so when it went away they were smooth feeling and no lumps at all. I had no idea that it would benefit me in that way but I'm very glad about the changes. I also had no more painful underarms that I'd become accustomed to and so the changes are welcome. I absolutely love Turmeric.

I have had breast cyst several times. They often came up quickly and were very painful. I went through my Doctor and other treatments, but finally found a solution that works quickly (with in a day or two the pain was gone) and over a period of a week of doing this every night the cysts dissolved.

The solution was to use a teaspoon of Raw Manuka Honey and a about 3/4 teaspoon of Turmeric. I mixed them together in a bowl before bed or early in the evening. I put the mixture all over the area of my breast with the cysts or pain. Then I covered the area with a clear plastic wrap so it would not get on my clothes. Wore a bra at night to keep plastic in place....

This has been a life saver and I hope it helps others.

Vitamin C, Lugol's Iodine, Vitamin E

Following all the feedback I have read on Earth Clinic in the past few weeks, I have finally figured out a remedy combination to help my extremely painful fibrocystic breasts (so bad lately that sleeping face down causes tremendous pain):

* Lugol's Iodine: 1 drop in water/day
*1,000 mg Vitamin C Sodium Ascorbate (which is 1 teaspoon Ascorbic Acid type of vitamin C to 1/2 teaspoon baking soda dissolved in a glass of water. I take it on an empty stomach, but not first thing in the morning, which can cause diarrhea.
*1 capsule of Vitamin E/day

The pain reduced by 50% after 24 hours and by 90% the 2nd day of these remedies. I have now cut back my Lugol's iodine dose to 1 drop every 2-3 days. I think it was the addition of the Lugol's that made an immediate difference.

Dear Mary:
Another thing that works for fibrocystic breast disease is lugol's solution iodine. Iodine is also supposed to prevent breast cancer. My naturopath said in 2-3 years the lumps will dissolve due to the iodine. I take 10 drops per day which is about 60mg of iodine. I also got a thermogram done to put my mind at rest and get a clear picture of my breast health. The thermogram (infra red picture of your breasts) shows changes years before any cancer gets a chance to develop. Relieved my worry and no radiation. Does anyone else have any thoughts on this?

Yes.. 10 yrs ago I thought I had breast cancer, my breasts were so sore I could hardly move my arms. Went to the doctors and he asked if I drank coffee! I had been dieting for about 6 weeks and given up milk and sugar in my coffee, drinking about 3-4 cups a day. Doctor told me BLACK coffee was the worst culprit and gave me a little booklet (about 30 pages) listing all the symptoms and complaints linked to coffee consumption. A few days after discontinuing the black coffee all soreness was gone. I wish I had kept the little booklet, must have lost it in one of my many shifts. One thing stuck however..If you must drink coffee always add full cream milk or better yet cream itself, it mitigates the bad effects (but I forget the reasons for this) Cheers.

I never had normal breasts even in my teens. They were always fibrocystic. It wasn't until after I had early cancer treatment (lumpectomy and radiation) and then sought natural medicine did I learn about cleansing. I learned about liver cleansing and how there are 3 types of estrogen. One is metobolized thru the liver and excreted thru the urine. After years of your liver filtering "junk" in Rx, food additives, preservatives, food dyes, anesthesias, airborn environmental toxins that go into our lungs and from there enter out blood stream etc. It gets clogged. Like a car filter if you want to think of it that way. When you change the oil in your car you change the filter too right? Think of your liver as a filter too. My estrogen levels were way off the charts. I was so estrogen dominent. The endocrinologist couldn't tell me why. But I put my faith in God and He helped me find info online about the 3 types of estrogen and the role the liver plays in them. So if you think about it this is what happened and WHY I WAS estrogen dominant. I say WAS!!! As your body makes estrogen and does not excrete it as it should - it recirculates thru your body and blood stream along with what is already there that also hasn't been eliminated. Makes simple sense! Once I cleansed my liver with in 1 month my breasts were absolutely normal for the 1st time in my life. I had no idea that would happen. I cleansed to lower my estrogen levels and then it cured the fibrocystic tissue in my breasts. When I went back to the encocrinologist she couldn't believe my estrogen levels were normal. She asked me what I did and didn't know what to say when I told her. She was happy but as a mainstream medical practitioner she looked so trapped in what she could only do to help her patients as approved by the hospital who pays her pay check. That's not medicine. Managing diseases is not medicine.

Anyway you are probably wondering how do you cleanse your liver? It is simple. Drink Apple Cider (not apple cider vinegar) for a week and eat very lightly. No meat, cheese, sugary sweets, fried foods - more salads and soft foods. The pectin in the apple cider has an affect on softening deposits in the liver and gall bladder. Do this for 6 days. (Start on a Sunday). On the 6th day b/f you go to sleep mix 1/2 cup of organic unrefined olive oil (OO) with either 1/2 cup of fresh squeezed organic lemon juice or organic grapefruit juice (I perfer grapefruit juice). Use a hand mixer to totally mix both juices. Take a straw and drink it down and immediately go and lay down for the night on your right side. Do not wash the dishes or do anything else after you drink it except go right to sleep. Lay in this position for as long as you can. When you awake in the morning you will feel an urge to go to the restroom. When you do you will expel debris from both your liver and gall bladder.

I could not believe the energy that I felt after I cleansed my liver for the first time. I also no longer had seasonal bronchitis after this. I became a firm believer in natural cleansing. If you have this condition you may want to try this. I wish you all the best!!!

This pain makes you go crazy. Have been to my gynae on numerous occasions. Put me on evening primrose, which never helped. Been for MRI and ultra sounds. The lumps are still there and very painful. Then put me on Danogen tablets, which made me gain an enormous amount of mass. which is really difficult to get rid off, despite my regular walks and exercise. I eat healthy (vegetarian) have decaf coffee, no fizzy drinks, no tea. I really do understand what all you women are going through. Hi Guys,

I found out last September that I had breast cysts, the pain was very uncomfortable. I went and did two ultra sounds and they saw very small cysts, as small a rice grain, but they still hurt. I was told that I had FBD, I did my research online and found that many women were using the Primrose oil, so I started using it. It has helped me somewhat but the discomfort still lingers, I am so excited now to go and try the Iodine and see if this will help me as well.

Vitamins E and D, CoQ10

I have been struggling with fibrocystic breasts - the pain starts 10 days after the first day of my cycle. About 3 weeks ago I started on Vit E (400iu) and CoQ10 which is supposed to be very helpful. I also realized I was very deficient in Vit D so I started on it. I'm noticing a difference already.

I will incorporate iodine once I get my Vit D level stabilized as I think the deficiency worsens the detox that comes with iodine. A Vit D deficiency can make you uncomfortable in both your groin and armpits which really contributes to the breast pain since it is so near your armpit.

Also I have read that Vit D does help balance estrogen.
