Top Natural Cures for Ringworm: Quick & Easy Remedies

Hallo my son has been nattling this for 2 months, not knowing what his Rash was. Im grateful to find your website. He had in 1998 also when he was 5 yrd old. I was uneducated then & he had on his lower back. We had multiple cats since he was 1 yrs old. Niw, I am current a student at the school of Vedic Astrology/Sanskrit. @ the American Academy of Vedic Art and Science. I also study Ayurveda & illness including Rashes of the body. I know cayenne pepper purifies the body and will help with rashes by making a paste and orally drinking with detoxify the lymph nodes and our blood system, also including a paste homemade of mustard seeds. Ayurveda has ringworm remedies as well. Also I am giving him herb pills - Wormwood Combination> with clove, wormwood, black walnut, Quassia, and Male Fern Root. All Vegetarian source capsules. I got ringworm from my cat, and I've gone through at least 2-3 cycles of infection now over a period of 2 months. I tried anti-fungal creams. Since it's in Korean and my doctor has limited English, I wasn't sure what the active ingredients were. But I tried 2-3 different types of creams and none helped, one even made it much worse. I even desperately tried bleach... Very bad idea. Wounds festered. I tried apple cider vinegar-much the same as the bleach.

What works: Use bar soap, lather well so that a thick white foam appears over all ringworm spots, let air dry for about 10-20 minutes, gently rinse. Repeat at least 2x/day. I'm doing this plus taking anti-fungal pills once a week. I've ordered Absorbine Jr. at the recommendation of this site. I intend to apply that as well, but it is not available in Korea and I've had to order it online.

Bee Propolis w/Iodine Tincture Beats Ringworm

I have had this "thing" on my face, right beside my nose. I have had it for 25+ yrs now. I did indeed try ACV, Coconut Oil and Hydrogen Peroxide on it and absolutely nothing changed. I bought a bottle of Bee Propolis with Iodine tincture to try it out. I put it on the area and 4 days later now and it is almost gone! I figured if ACV or HP didn't work on it, there was nothing I could do. I am so glad I tried this! If you have ringworm, don't give up. If the most popular cures don't work for your body, keep trying! I am so glad I found this stuff!

Iodine for Ringworm

I have had what I had thought was simply an enlarged pore or scar on my cheek, right next to my nose. I tried acv, pure hydrogen peroxide 10%, colloidal silver and other things; this is why I thought it was simply a scar or something.

I found a neat product called Bee Propolis w/Iodine Tincture, so I put 2 drops onto it and only the infected area went dark. Did this 2x/day for 4-5 days and then it was all gone. Amazing stuff!

I have had a bad issue with ringworm on the inside of my middle finger. Swollen, dark red, itchy. I applied ACV as I'd seen on some sites. That pulled the toxins out, but it became furiously puffed up afterward, blistered and then a hard crust formed. I could tell the skin was trying to heal. I thought it was done.

A couple of days later, I had a tiny cut on my face between my eye and nose. The fungus spread to my face, then the inside crook of my arm, then the back of my neck. All these were exposed areas, so I started covering the rest of my body with clothes and socks to protect it.

I didn't try ACV again, because it brought the skin to pustules and I read that once they burst, it spreads like wildfire. I think that's what happened to me. So I figured the slow and patient approach best.

I'm a big proponent of natural remedies, and made myself a balm of coconut oil/olive oil/vit e oil/tea tree oil/lavender essential oil. This was soothing, took the itch away for a period of time, but did not stop the spreading (or subsequent reinfections of the same site).

I am currently on the anti-fungal meds from the doc (works ever so slowly and doesn't seem to get rid of it quickly) and tried the steroid cream he gave. Package said to use that for 7 days only so I've stopped that, but that's not enough time to heal this issue.

I turned to online remedies. I tried Blue Star ointment. That seemed to help for a day, but after that it burned my skin and gave me welts, and I couldn't use it anymore.

What does work for me is:

* Selsun Blue shampoo with the scrubbing beads. Great for the lower scalp and back of the neck. Takes away the itching for some time, and is relieving. You can put it on the other sides too but don't scrub too much, since the beads cut the skin (my right hand is super dry due to this shampoo).

* Lamasil. This took away the itching all day for me, and calmed the areas. It doesn't seem to be killing the fungus though. 1x a day after shower.

* Black Walnut tincture. Day one of this and a lot of the redness was gone. Today is day three and I can see my skin color through the ringworm. I can still see redness under the skin so it's still there, but seems to be slowly fading. 3x a day, or dab on if there are small areas that itch/sting after application.

*Dr. Bronner's castille soap with tea tree oil - I use this to cleanse the site between applications. Foam it up and rinse in cool water. I use it at least 3-4 times a day, even on my face. Pat dry with clean towel, and let area completely air dry for a bit. The apply your black walnut tincture.

Internally, I saw a site that said to drink ACV (1.5 tsp to half glass water). So I'm having that daily, along with a teaspoon of Carlson's cod liver oil (the lemon-flavored one).

I also don't let clothing touch the sites (crook of my arm - roll up sleeve or wear really short sleeve shirt that doesn't touch the site) because clothing seems to irritate it, help it to spread and keep in the moisture. I have been sleeping on the couch with towels laid out under me. I sleep on my back with the crook of the arm facing up, so that the air can get to the site. If I bend my arm, within minutes moisture and warmth builds up, and the site reddens and stings. Wash all towels and clothes daily with plenty of vinegar in the rinse.

I'm definitely not scared/panic-y anymore. I was extremely concerned about it spreading more, or me having it forever. I'm not going to say that it isn't going to happen, but at least I feel a little more at ease, seeing it slowly get better daily.

If you have it bad, I think you have to be patient with the remedy that seems to calmly heal this issue. I don't see how these folks can put something on and in two days it's totally gone. Maybe that works for someone who recognizes it when they get it, and they catch it small. However, for those of us who have had it longer, or have larger areas, patience and diligence seem to be key. It seems that different things work for different folks, so try and find what works for you.

I've also seen that gentian violet works well and quickly. I've not been able to find that yet, but if this continues on me. I'll have to order it and try it.

I tied various concentrations but in the end it didn't work. I used bleach that has nothing else in it because I heard there are other kinds with other chemicals that can burn the skin.

I applied it for over a month, twice a day, for about 1 hour, then washed it off and applied Lamisil.

It dried the skin, it seemed to make Lamisil work slightly better, but in the end it didn't work.

I've been using the bleach treatment and it has given me two more new spots. I'm at a loss here and itching terribly as I cant afford a Dr.much less any med can anyone help with a new suggestion.

I have been suffering form ring worm since 4 month now, now it start to desapear as I've applied bleach on it. Now at the areas where the ringworm got killed my skin look dark, there a lot of marks, what can I use to remove this?

WARNING!

Do not use Bleach for ringworm. It will pop the pimples in the middle of the ringworm and irritate the ringworm to where it will grow to the size of a quarter. I know because my brother tried it with Bleach and also my wrestling coach told the whole team!

I have had a ringworm infection for about 4 months. I had big patches on either side of my waist and arm. I have used Absobine solution, Gris-peg as prescribed by a medical doctor (this made it worse) the Absobine solution was very painful the itch was relieved temporarily(I wouldn't advice this one because it just hurts for nothing). I even tried the antifungal cream which made it even worse. It looks like the strain I had was a very persist one so I decided to use bleach(straight) out of desperation! It was very painful! (I wouldn't advice you to use it this way either) the itch stopped and I stopped using it after a day or two. The itch and the ringworm patches ressurected with a vegence so I decided a different approach that has given me the best results which you can take to the bank!

I decided to dilute the bleach and it worked beautifully for me. I decided to take a disposable cup(medium) almost filled and put close to 2-3 Table spoons of bleach and used a wash cloth to apply and rub on the affected area. The itch was controlled and the ring worm dried out and the rough skin has been restored to smooth skin. I have been applying Vitamin E oil or cocnut oil or any kind of oil to keep the dry skin from itching after a series of application. I have also been using a brush to brush the area to help the skin heal faster by increasing circulation and it is very smooth and the scars are almost gone. Thanks to this Website and persistance. I have used the diluted bleach treatment like twice-three times a day for and two-3weeks and I can say I'm almost over this frightening attack. Hope you find this helpful. When I was young, I used clorox or bleach on my ringworm and it went away after a couple of weeks. Now, my grandson has a ringwrom, but I'm afraid to use bleach. I will try the ACV to see if it works.

Me and everybody in my family, a 12, 14, 9, 8, and 7 year old, got ring worm including the two family pets and we could not figure out how to get rid of it and someone recommended bleaching them with Clorox Bleach so have been trying it and the 7 and 8 year olds are gone afer four days of using it. the 14 year old and the 12 and the 9 year olds are somewhat gone so are going to keep using it but i totally recommend using the Clorox Bleach to get rid of ringworm it is the best and oo yea if your family pet has the ringworm go to the vet and get the pills for animals, not the cream, it doesnt work.

I used Bleach. It cured the ringworm on my daughters arm. I used a Qtip and dipped it in clorox bleach applied it for several days and it went away.

Put 3 tbsp of bleach in bathtub water & soak. I don't recommend this for women, but my husband did this & his dried up within 2 days. Cured ringworm all over body.

I had ringworm on and off for over 40 years. When it started it would appear once or twice a year. As I got older it got worse. In a hot and humid climate, I was getting it every couple of weeks. I found a liquid fungicide that would knock it out pretty well and I tried many home remedies but it always came back. Then around a year ago I heard how a bleach bath would cure 'old timers' disease. So I added 2 cups of ordinary liquid bleach to a hot bath and gave it a try. Don't know if it did anything for the old timer coz I just realized that I haven't had any ringworm now for over a year. I'm surprised no one has tried this before. I think it is a good cure for ringworm.
