Hands down yes this works if you do it correctly. I used podofilox which is a topical solution given to me by a doctor and it only managed to clear one but it left it very large and scabbed. ALl the other ones that I used apple cider vinegar on went away, peacefully. First you must take a pin or needle and sterilize it with a flame then once its cool pick at the little buggers until they are open and remove the white hard part if you can. Then (this may burn) wipe the buggers with ACV. If you wet some cotton balls with Acv and bandaid them to the effected area over night this helps too although can be a little uncomfortable. Also it is possible to burn yourself with the acid overnight if it sits on sensitive skin so make sure it is taped down securely. Do this for maybe three days it will look more red but then dont wipe them for a couple days and make sure you rinse off the Apple Cider Vinegar every morning. Once they are not irritated Then just wipe them everyday once and they should clear and go down relatively fast. I treated my infection in about a week and a half with this stuff. ITS A MIRACLE!

Maybe you can answer a question for me. My 18month old has a mild case of MC. He has a small spot on crease of arm that has my 10 very tiny ones. Ive applied ACV on the cottonball and taped it there but he has random ones on his torso that the chances of me being able to tape cottonball balls to them before he rips them off are not good. Do you think wiping them a few times a day with ACV will help any?
Thanks!!

Misty, I have read that Tea Tree Oil applied directly on the MC's will clear them up. Do a google search for Tea Tree Oil. Also keeping the area dry is important as warm water will make them spread.

I would try mixing Castor oil and baking soda into a chewing gum consistency and putting that on them. It gets rid of skin tags, warts, moles and other skin conditions. I would think that it would help your child's condition also. Put a little on them and cover them with a band-aid every night until they are gone.

Thanks so much for the suggestions. I'm starting to wonder if my son really has MC. Not that I don't trust our dr but after looking of pictures on the internet, it looks nothing like what my son has. Blisters in crease of arm are VERY small(pics ive seen they tend to be pretty big?) and the spots on torso are not raised and are mostly a red color. From the looks of them there is nothing inside. He does have eczema so skin rashes are nothing new but whats on his torso also doesnt look like eczema. Ive heard MC spreads pretty quickly and he had these things on crease of arm for over 2 weeks before seeing dr and never seem to of spread. Any sugggestions or comments would be VERY appreciated!!!! THANKS!!!

Misty,
There is so many conditions out there that this could be. I would go to a different Dr. And get a second opinion. It could be chicken pox - if someone in your house just got inoculated for chicken pox, then they could have made it spread to anyone! It could be warts, it could be an allergy to wheat - Celiac disease, etc. When you know exactly what he has, then you will know which way to go from there. If he already has eczema then it may just be that. If you could send some pictures then I would try to do that.

Go see a homeopathic doctor, treatment is inexpensive and was effective for three of my neices and my son, I'm on day 3 with my daughter. The homeopathic doctor recommended thuja (small white sugary tasting pellets taken under the tongue) and silver in a spray form, which get applied to the affected areas. It is all painless and usually is effective within a couple of weeks.

I have been struggling with what I recently to be muscullum contagiom for nearly a year now.... Until this week when I finally figured out that I did not have folliculitis... And in fact had this horrible disease. However, I was elated to find all of this great information from everyday people, and horrifying stories regarding encounters with dermatologists and general practitioners who only want to make money by scraping burning and freezing in their office. Shame on them all.

I tried the most commonly reported success story on this and other forums, apple cider vinegar... And wow!!!!!!!!! I taped on the Apple Cider Vinegar soaked cotton balls, woke up they were white, went to work and two hours later they were dark red and black... Yeah!!!!! I treated smaller and more remote ones over next two days... And now all I have left is black scabs... Which are beginning to fall away leaving no scars or any sign of mc. Thank you everyone for your taking the time to post and share your knowledge. This is the simplest, most effective, shortest, least invasive or damaging remedy there is... And your doctor will not treat you this way.... Shame shame shame. I wish you all luck, and my god.... this really works and has changed my life.

Hi,
I have had bumps for at least 7 months now. They began around my anus on the sides of my cheeks. then a couple on my right thigh, and 5 more on the left side of my stomach. My doctor and gyno identified them both as mulluscum.

I read about the ACV, just tried it 3 nights ago, and have done so each night with a saturated cotton ball and bandaid. The bump got much bigger and turned black in the center!! It hurts a bit when it is on, and when I remove it in the morning the bump feels very raw, open, and sore (where as before they never hurt or itched) Is this normal? Is it good? how long is the process?

I would like to add the Thuja as well.... what is the dosage?

Has anyone tried multi-treating (combining ACV with teatree, iodine, etc???)

Thank you for any advice.

Hi MJ form Philly. My son suffered from this about 2 years ago when he was 10. He had them all over his torso, mostly on the side of his rib cage. The doctor said the medicine had too many side effects and told us to wait it out. We decided to do the Organic ACV and the next day they were almost dried up. We continued doing this every evening for about 5 days and they disappeared completely and now he is almost 12 and we haven't seen one surface. I am not sure if what you are seeing is normal but I don't think it will hurt to continue on. I do recall the bump being filled with some kind of white discharge if he squeezed them so maybe that is what you are seeing in yours only yours has turned black from the ACV? Just a guess. I would recommend organic ACV with the mother. Not sure about combining with the other things you mentioned but I wanted to share an ACV success story. One more thing, we did not leave the cottonball on his skin, we just saturated the area and covered him with those HUGE bandaids. Hope you find relief soon!

I've been dealing with MC for what feels like forever now. For the longest time, I honestly didn't know what it was. I was terrified that I had contracted herpes or hpv, the usual fears. Went to the gyno for the standard check-up and she didn't mention anything about this. Waited for all of the STD tests to come back and they all came up clean, so I went back in to talk to her about what was going on with my lady business.

She then told me I had something called MC and failed to explain what it even was, but told me how to treat it; my options were cryotherpay or the aldera cream, which, if we're being honest, is just way too expensive, especially considering I haven't found much positive feedback on it. So, I call her up and schedule an appointment for the cryo. I go in on Friday and she tells me that she thinks we should wait a little while because MC will usually clear on it own, mind you I've been dealing with this for AT LEAST 6 months, if not longer. I tell her I'll think about it, so I leave and I'm panicking because let's face it, nobody feels very awesome with little, itchy bumps all over their lady parts. So I use my resources that I started out with in the beginning.

I found this lovely little gem of a website and I figured, apple cider vinegar, what the hell, it can't hurt anything, right? Right, I was. I've been doing the ACV every night for around probably 12 hours, I originally did this as a test run and planned on maybe doing it once, figuring it wouldn't work. I was definitely wrong. I've done it three nights in a row and the size and number of my MC has gone down substantially. The areas that I'm treating seems to be a little irritated and the ACV burns like hell, but my body is in survival mode at this point and I can handle a little burning if it means I can get rid of these pesky bumps that have been driving me crazy so long. I'm actually going in today to get some cryo done on the areas that are harder to cover and take care of, but the areas that I've been treating are looking better each day. So hey guys, thanks for sharing the secret wonder cure. I don't think I would wish MC on my worst enemy.

I had MC a few years ago, and basically what I did was squeeze the middle out of the bump. I would use my thumbs and squeeze/wiggle the white part out. That is the part that has the virus. Once that comes out, it will bleed profusely. I then sterilized the area w/alcohol or iodine, and washed my hands thoroughly. Once that white part is out, it will completely heal up. You just want to make sure you get it out, so you don't spread it. I would bet rid of any new bumps this way, and eventually it went away.

My five year-old was diagnosed with Mollescum Contagiosum in November 2010. We have gone through the treatments of burning them off (in the beginning when it was just on his inner elbow) and since April when it spread to his left side of his torso with aldara cream (way too expensive-$400 for 36 packets) for three days then retin-A on the fourth day to get them red and irritated. Then for the next four to five days we apply triamcinalon cream to get his irritated area back to normal only to look like we haven't treated the mollescum at all! Now we are trying the _____'s ACV per my sister's advice after reading this cite. We have done this for two nights (soaked gauze pad in ACV, put in on inner elbow, put papertowel on it so it won't soak through shirt, then wrap with medical wrap, and put a plastic bag over it because he can't stand the smell)! It is not looking that much better and it is somewhat red and irritated (the skin under and around the bumps but not the bumps themselves). He said last night when I put it on that it burned him. I am wondering if the wetness of the pad all night long (although this is what yall say to do) is making the area too moist and maybe I should just wipe it several times a day with the ACV and at night and not leave the most ACV pad on him all night long. We are trying to get this cleared up prior to him starting school in two weeks because we are afraid the school will freak if they see this and call to have us come pick him up. What are your suggestions now?

I would like to share my experience with this thing. I had to put a real fight to get read of it and through trial and error figure out what works and what not.

I had it for very long 7 month, first couple of month I did not do anything about it bc there were just two small pimples in my bikini area and I was not sure what it was. At that point I kept shaving and that was a huge mistake bc it allowed it to spread all over my private area. So lesson # 1 - whatever you do - DO NOT SHAVE!!! .

I went to dr and once I knew what it was, also started reading about to see what works best. I tried following remedies that did not work for me at all - Zicam, Emued, tea tree oil. Zicam & Emued just did not do anything at all. Got really bad burn from tree oil that I had to treat with antibiotic ointment, molluscum remained.

Finally I figured out system how to fight that thing:

#1 go to dermatologist every two weeks to have all visible molluscum freezed. Note to tell your dr not to be too careful and actually get them pretty good. Treat every single pimple with cotton swab and hold it down a little longer. After my first visit, my dr was very careful and just touched them slightly, it burned them, but not completely, so on my second visit I asked her to go at it, and she held down each pimple for at list 5 sec with cotton swab. That worked much better and in about week all pimples she treated were gone. Don't worry about scarring. Yes it will look bad for about a month, but now, few month later scars are almost not visible and I am sure in few months they will be completely gone. You will not get real "scars", it looks more like skin discoloration and it evens out with the rest of the skin during just few months. So if you apply freezing method correctly it works!

#2 The problem for me was new pimples kept showing up. In between my visits to dr every time when new ones showed up, I treated them with ACV - used paper towel to make a little pads, soaked them in ACV and taped over night. Then in the middle of day I tried my best to do the same for about another hour. In between, applied Polysporin ointment to reduce irritation (my dermatologist told me not to use Neosporin bc it might actually help spreading molluscum). While applying ACV treatment few things might happen - 1) pimple might turn black - this is a best case scenario bc after that it just dries out and falls off 2) it might turn white - all gross stuff is raised to the top. In this case I squeezed it out to the point when it starts bleeding (that means all molluscum is gone), apply Polysporin and then continue with ACV until it scabs. NOTE!!! Have to be VERY careful when doing this not to touch anything else bc it would spread like crazy. I wore gloves and constantly applied alcohol on it and in area all around it to make sure nothing is getting infected. My advice to buy big box with disposable alcohol swaps. Open bunch of them before you start, and throw away every swap after you treat each area. I would go thought at list 20 swaps for every molluscum treatment.

So to summarize -

1. go to you dermatologist to freeze it off. Don't be discouraged if it's not all gone after first or second treatment. Keep going until it all gone. It took me 8 visits.

2. Use ACV in between your visits

3. Treat irritation from ACV with Polyisporin ointment.

You will beat that thing!!! Don't listen anyone who tells you just to leave it alone, bc it will spread!!!

Good luck!!!

I used to work with kids, I'm not sure where I contracted this virus but I'm assuming from waxing. This showed up about eight months ago. The first thought was std?? I've been tested three times for every sexual transmitted disease possible. All results clear and negative. Doctor said. "Oo it'll clear up" my significant other and I of course engage in sexual relations. My doctor knew that we were trying to conceive. This didn't worry me one because he hasn't gotten them and two because she never said it was highly contagious. I noticed a few weeks ago I was getting new bumps. Not one or two but like ten! Again went to a different doctor. New nothing about the bumps. It's not hpv they said. Not herpes. It could be mc, but not being sure I should make an appointment with a dermatologist. I've tried Apple Cider Vinegar for a week and it has worked wonders. I'm hoping to rid this virus for good so the love of my life and I can move on. It's not an std. But the embarrassment of it spreading on your thighs and around your genitals is devastating. I've also been using Liquid clove which has helped as well. How can you tell the virus is gone after the use of acv? Thanks :)

My 4 year old daughter has been suffering from MC for around 2 months now at first they didn't bother her but they have started to spread they first appeared on her lower abdomen and now her torso is covered and I have noticed some appearing on the pelvic area. Every time she gets hot she complains they itch. Doctors have told me they cannot do anything for them and they will clear up in 6 months or so! I have since discovered they can take upto 5 years to go! So thank you everyone who has posted on here with their stories. 2 days ago I started the apple cider vinegar putting some on cotton wool and then taping over the mc and omg what a result the following morning just as I read the mc's had turned black and scabby. She has soo many of them and also suffers from ezcema so the ACV doesn't help that. But I'm doing a few spots each night now hopefully they will all clear soon. Thankyou everyone for the advise on this site. I AM TEMPTED TO TRY THE CLEAR NAIL VARNISH ON A COUPLE JUST SIMPLY BECAUSE ITS LESS HASSLE THAN THE TAPING OF COTTON WOOL AND THE SMELL OF VINEGAR. I WILL UPDATE ON HERE.

I read your entry a few days ago after looking for suggestions for Mulluscum. I have noticed it on my son now for a few months with new spots occuring here and there, most recently a small one just above his lip. We have done the Apple Cider Vinegar for two nights now and all I can say is it's amazing. Each morning we have taken the cotton balls off, you can see the difference in the areas he has the spots. It is killing the papules. They are shrunk in size each day and have a white appearance which is the skin dying, therefore killing the virus. I'm very happy with this treatment and our Dr. gave us her full approval as it's a more natural approach.

All 3 of my young children contracted molluscum contagiosum between the ages of 2 and 6 (at different times) - presumably at the swimming pool. The youngest child got it the worst and having been told by our gp that it was harmless and would go in due course (all very well but it was irritating her and spreading quite fast from her arms to her body) I read about apple cider vinegar on the net. What I did was prick a few of the wart like things with a sterile needle, remove the white gunk, clean the site and then apply the (double strength - neat) vinegar on a cotton wool pad for about 10 seconds each place, and then put a plaster (band-aid)on it. It did sting but didn't last long or upset them too much. In all 3 cases the little warts went away - not just the few I treated but all of them - within a few weeks. I probably did 2 treatments with the vinegar per child about 1 week apart. I am so thankful that I did treat it myself rather than let it run it's course over many months or years, which can happen.

Hi,

I just wanted to vote YES for apple cider vinegar treating molluscum contagiosum. My 3 year old daughter had two flesh colored bumps on her left buttock that no cream I applied to would help. Unfortunately, we were busy with moving and Christmas, so it wasn't until 2 months later that it was diagnosed. The doctor made no big deal about it, and said it would go away on its own in months to years. Unfortunately, my daughter had itched open the bumps and my son and I had taken baths with her beforehand. We all ended up with molluscum, but I was able to treat all of my bumps and my 7 year old son's bumps with soaking in apple cider vinegar for 1-2 days. I would cut out a small piece of a cotton makeup remover pad and soak it in apple cider vinegar, remove the excess liquid and put it on the bumps under a waterproof band-aid. I do have to say that I still have scars from this treatment, but it has only been a month or so.

My daughter's case has been much more difficult. Unfortunately, the dermatologist's receptionist recommended salicilic acid, so I tried that on my daughter which was very painful for her and turned her skin purple. I do not recommend this! Of course, her skin was too sensitive after that for apple cider vinegar, so I bought some colloidal silver water and salve that I am applying to her. I do give her baths with apple cider vinegar, tea tree oil, ravintasara oil, and lavendar oil. Every now and then I try to treat one of her bumps with apple cider vinegar, and the treatment works. My daughter sometimes cries and complains that it stings her, however, in which case I will take off the band-aid. We have also treated the bumps by popping them like a pimple, and then washing thoroughly with alcohol. She cries for this, too, because it hurts. Needless to say, it is taking longer for her bumps to go away, but things are much better and are mostly confined to her left buttock, although she did have bumps on her legs, stomach, back, and chest. It has been 6 months since I initially saw the original bumps on her butt.

I should also mention that we do not share towels or clothes now. We do not bathe together anymore. We use a towel or wash cloth once and then it is laundered. The same goes for clothes. Everything is laundered using the "sanitary" cycle (hot water) in my wash machine. I have removed all hand towels in the bathrooms and replaced them with paper towels. I am using tea tree oil soap, colloidal silver shampoo, colloidal silver water spray, colloidal silver lotion and salve when needed. I also mix olive oil with tea tree oil, raventasara oil, and lavendar oil as a moisturizer. My husband has not contracted this virus (thank God).

I read a pediatric journal study using Tagamet to succesfully treat molluscum, but this did not work for my children. Apparently this treatment may only work for atopic children.

We also took thuja occidentalis, but I did not notice any improvement afterwards.

My bumps were very itchy, so I would use a Q-tip dipped in silver salve to "itch" the bumps - especially those I thought I had on my scalp and ears. Of course I threw it away once I had used both sides of the Q-tip.

I appreciate this website so very much. I use it now all the time!

Thanks, Kendra

I got molluscum around my vagina and didn't know it so my boyfriend and I continued to have sex. One day we realized there was a lot on both of us. So we went to the doctor and they zapped us with liquid nitrogen. I went home and it spread. The zapped ones didn't look very different, so I went online and found out about apple cider vinegar. We got Heinz 5% and left it on overnight with cotton. The small ones look about the same, some spread, and the big ones turned really dark. The skin around the entire area has been really red and itchy. The ones on my boyfriend's shaft turned into huge black patches and it irritated areas around it. Is all of this normal? And since a lot of them don't seem to be going away, should we keep using ACV or should we try something else, like tea tree oil?

Thanks!

I had molusscum over six years ago. I thought that they were bumps from shaving the bikini area (all of my bumps were only in the bikini line area, with a few just near the outside folds of the vulva), but after a yearly pap I was told that they were molusscum. The nurse told me that I didnt need to worry about them, that they would go away on their own. However, as I continued to shave, I was getting more. I went to my doctor and he burned them off, weekly as more would show up, for about a month. Then I moved, and I still had some showing up. I looked a little online and read about silver solutions and various silver devices killing it, but the sites (at that time) wanted me to spend nearly a $100 or more on the solution and/or equipment that would get rid of it. So instead, I found some silver bandaids and covered the few remaining ones. Amazingly, they disappeared not long after, I think it was within a few weeks. But its been over six years now and I have not had a reoccurence with them. So I would suggest to others to give silver bandaids a try. I didn't try ACV for it so I cannot give an opinion on it.

My 3-year-old son has had MC for a few months already; it started with one single MC, but now it is spreading and he has multiple of them. They are still quite small and he doesn't show any sign of discomfort. We took him to the Dermatologist, and they sent him home with Retinol treatment, but the truth is that it hasn't helped at all. The Dermatologist says she will remove them when she sees him next time if the MCs hadn't disappear. I would much rather use a home remedy before putting my son through the pain of freezing the MCs. My pediatrician, at some point recommended to use clear nail polish, but since he had one MC at the time I didn't really pay much attention to it. Seeing the post about the use of clear nail polish to treat MCs, I would like to know how the clear nail polish needs to be applied on the MCs in order for it to be successfull? Any help is appreciated, I am pretty desperate to get him cured without putting him through any pain.

HI there, I've read through pages of all your comments trying to get help. My 4yr old son has a bunch of MC on his stomach back and under his arm pits. I was thinking of trying the ACV but was worried about it stinging or burning him, so I tried the clove oil and he was in agony so had to bath him straight away. Was I meant to dilute it ???. Just feel like it all sounds a but risky ie causing pain or discomfort-but definitely want to use home remedy rather than medication. Just need a bit more advice either on the dilution of the clove oil or more positive results from ACV ??? thank you all so much

Dear Lilly,

Clove oil is pretty strong, though I have used it neat (without diluting) in the mouth before. You can try 1 part clove oil and 3 parts oil (extra virgin coconut oil might be good as it is also an anti-viral. Test that on a small area and if it stings, dilute it further.

Same with Apple Cider Vinegar. If you want to try it, start with diluting it 1 part vinegar and 3 parts water. Test a spot and dilute more if it is irritating. You can also try 1/2 vinegar and 1/2 water and see how that does, if the weaker dilution is okay, but again, test a small area first.

I have found essential oils and vinegar, when diluted, to work well on skin issues and not to burn. I hope that is the case for you, too.

I hope your little guy is better soon!

Hi Everyone. I just wanted to say two things about my experience with ACV. I've had MC for about 5 months now. It started with one lesion on my thigh that turned into about 10 autoinnoculated spots on my privates. Thanks to my Dr that told me it was a *YEAST* infection on my skin!!!!! This is why I kept shaving. Note: do NOT NOT NOT shave when you have MC. It *will* spread like wildfire! :(

To the poster that asked if the MC got worse before it was better using ACV, I am thinking you might have just had some bumps that hadn't surfaced yet and the ACV made them more visible.

I have been using Heinz diluted to 5% ACV since last night. I soaked a cotton ball in it and then covered the area with one of those huge bandaids and left it on about 12 hours. I woke up this morning. My MC is WHITE with black in the middle!!! Even with the diluted version this is already working. I discovered about 10 bumps on my buttocks last night :( Had no idea that they were there. I am going to be doing this method to them all day today and all night to help them on their way OUT the door.

I have popped my other MC but I gave this a try and this is great. Everyone says it burns but my ACV does not burn (probably due to dilution) and is still seemingly effective.

I am also trying DRINKING this horrible stuff. I mean it's really awful tasting to me but I figure drinking and topically applying will be better than just one or the other.

Bless you all and speedy healing!

Hello Gnomelover, Question: You stated you are starting with Heinz ACV and diluting it to 5%. What percentage is it to begin with? Most grocery stores carry the most common dilution which is 4.5 or 5% acetic acid. However I did once run upon (and purchased) a 1/2 gallon container of ACV 10% solution. If you have purchased a 10 percent solution and using it without dilution, it would be horrible tasting to get down. If so please dilute it with 1/2 ACV & 1/2 water before measuring your oral dosage to take.

Molluscum Contagiosum

Hi Bumpy from Columbia to answer your question, Has any one had MC on the face? Yes I do, around my right eye, I originally had two about 1 year ago from the pool for I am a Swimming Teacher and now they have come up again about 3 and hopefully thats it, but there so itchy I really have to restrain myself from scratching.

Bumpy and Dinks - the itching is eczema. I did read somewhere there is something you can put on it to make it stop itching, so I'm sure a derm can tell you.

Also, the ACV dries out your skin and causes the eczema. Different dots. See the derm for a med. In the future, if you put desitin (baby rash lotion/aka zink oxide) around the pock before you put ACV, it will get less irritated.

Hi there. I have just had several MC removed from my right eyelid and above my right eye. The opthamologist cut out the largest and 'burnt' the 'babies' that were spreading into my eyelid!!!

It was costly - $400, and has left me with a long scar!!!I thought I had seen the last of them! but then saw my baby of 11 months has several on his back!!!

OMG! I am now thinking of not waiting for them to dissapear, and will investigate the health shops for some treatment.

Hi, My daughter and I have been dealing with this for almost a Full year... We went to the doctor many times in Nevada. They gave her Amox. And we still had the bumps. They slowly spread everywhere (torso, arms, legs, tummy, ect. ) over time. We are down to 3 bumps right now. I do not know where she caught it from at all!!

We have been using ACV for the last couple months and what a miracle.. A couple of the bumps were along where her pants rub and boy did they get swollen. I have been soaking her in a hot tub and ACV. And in the tub the bumps popped on their own. I hope it helps someone else :) Keep your fingers crossed.

Hi. My son had mc from age 13 to 18 months, and we were able to successfully get rid of them. We tried waiting them out (really bad idea), Zymaderm (phase II included), and liquid nitrogen and failed previously. Waiting them out only made it worse - they kept spreading, Zymaderm prevented the spreading, but the bumps did not go away, and liquid nitrogen was effective in killing the virus, although you have to take multiple trips to kill newly formed bumps and stay ahead of the newly forming bumps. Do not bother with duck tape. It may prevent the spread, but that is about it.

To successfully get rid of ms, use the following steps as recommended by my dermatologist:
1) Go to your dermatologist or pediatrician and get your child diagnosed with mc.
2) If the doctor says to wait them out, it is time for you to take action. You have to remove the white sac that contains the virus by popping the bump like a pimple. Do this without rupturing the sac and exposing more virus to the skin. This will hurt, and will cause bleeding. Cover with band aid if desired. Wear gloves or wash your hand very thoroughly because the virus may spread to others. Wash area with rubbing alcohol. Wash all clothes, towels, blankets, and bedding.
3) Repeat step 2 with new bumps daily until they are all gone and no new ones form.

MC is a virus like chicken pox. Your child will eventually be able to fight it off by making antibodies. I also looked online to find remedies and am now responding to forums with what I found actually works. Hope this helps.

We tried the Apple Cider Vinegar for my 4 year old. She has been dealing with MC for at least a year. Her older brother had it first and his went away with in 6 months. Hers however would get infected. And a few weeks ago when I noticed they had started spreading "down below" I decided I needed to try to get rid of them. I used those small circle band aids and applied the Apple Cider Vinegar right to the pad on them then applied the band aids to her spots. All it took was 3 applications overnight and removing the band aids during the day. The majority of her 30+ MC had died. I gave her a few days of a break and then we tackled the remaining 6 or so spots over two more nights. It is amazing... For the first time in a VERY long time she is spot free!!!! It has only been a week since then so I can't tell you if this is a cure. But even if it isn't and some spots come back, I now have a way to treat them before they spread. One tip I would give is to give Tylenol over it as well if your child complains that the treated spots are itchy or burn a little. Just one dose of Tylenol did the trick and my kiddo had no problems sleeping. I'm so happy I found this website!!!

Our 4 yr old has MC on his eye lid and under his eyes in clusters can you put ACV that close to his eyes? they are right up close to lower eye lids? Would dabbing ACV all day and just leaving it without a cover work? He has had this since Feb 2012 and doctor wont do anything because too close to eyes and doesnt want to take the risk.

Apple Cider Vinegar cured my Molluscum Contagiosum. I'm not sure where I got the virus, but I did. It started off as one pimple-like thing on my leg, and began spreading. I went to the doctor. She told me I had Molluscum Contagiosum, so I immediately began researching natural cures for it. Rather than going to a dermatologist who would possibly burn them and leave scars, I instead bought a $4 bottle of Organic Apple Cider Vinegar. I would tape small cotton balls to the infected area. The pimple-like things turn black and eventually fall out. It's unbelievable, and really works!

After noticing some small bumps on my 6 year daughter's left side, I took her to the doctor. Like most of feedback on this site, her pediatrician told us what it was, and that the only thing we could do was to let it run it's course.

Well after about 2 months, it only got worse... Her skin was red and raw (probably from scratching) and several more bumps appeared. After doing some research, I came across the thread on this site, and decided to give ACV a try.... Well it worked... Each night for about a week I cut up a cotton ball into 4 small pieces, and put some ACV on each piece. I used waterproof bandages to secure them in place, and let her sleep with them on. Then in the morning, I would remove the bandages... Over time, the bumps turned white, then black, then scabby, then one by one all the scabs fell off. Her skin is still healing from the ACV and bumps, and I'm using Neosporin and Vitamin E oil in the morning and evenings to help her skin heal, however she's certainly on the road to recovery.

Clove oil worked in a couple days and doesn't hurt or damage the skin. Did the ACV and it worked okay, but just hurt my 2 yr old too much. Tried zymaderm, didn't work. Tried clove oil applied directly too spots (my bottle was over 8 yrs old so I applied direct, but probably dilute with carrior oil if new(some say their oil is strong enough undiluted to blister. So be careful, don't get it too strong). It should only be a mild tingle if anything when applied. First the spot gets a little raised and inflamed around it. Then the horrible little spots get a dark spot in the center within a couple days of 2 applications per day and fall out. Killed them dead. Finally something that works, if I had only known at the beginning, he would have only had 15 spots to treat not 50. Clove oil, who knew.

My 7 year old grand son contracted molluscum at the swimming pool. It covered his back and was spreading fast. I researched cures and found that Doctors in other countries use apple cider vinegar to cure this ailment along with vitamin E. We wore gloves and saturated cotton balls with apple cider vinegar. We taped pieces of the saturated cotton balls on each wart. We put this on every night at bed time and also gave him vitamin E twice daily. This took two weeks. The warts blister and the core comes to the surface. We removed the core and continued the treatment. He is completely healed and has no scars. The vinegar does sting a little bit at first. Thank God for apple cider vinegar.

My daughter is 2 years old and has Molluscum on her right side and now starting on her leg. We are on our third type of treatment, which involes an oral medication and a gel. I, too, have started vinegar and salt baths daily. I can see a difference in her one large Moloscum, but the smaller ones seem to be a little more stubborn. Did you notice if they took longer to go away?

My Granddaughter has gotten Molluscum again at age 12. Doing Apple Cider Vinegar baths again, as I got rid of them with Apple Cider Vinegar at age 9. As I promised her I would have them gone before she moved to Texas, and with Apple Cider Vinegar Baths we did it to… Putting Apple Cider Vinegar in a bath will not sting but make sure you use a enough Apple Cider Vinegar or it will take to long to draw out. So hoping Mom and Dad can get them gone in 2 weeks as I wish I was there to help.. love her so much…love Mimi

Hi there! A while ago I was diagnosed with Molluscum Contagiosum, an itchy fungus sort of thing that showed up around my vagina. It's not considered an STD but I no doubt contracted it from God-knows-who during a one night stand. So anyway, I couldn't stop itching it and the stuff was spreading like mad. My gyno reccomended that I have it burned off with acid. Ouch! No thanks! So, having heard of the healing properties of ACV, I gave it a shot. I applied a little bit to the affected area twice a day with a q-tip. In 2 weeks it was completely gone! Just dried right up. Totally easy and painless. It has now been over 6 months and it hasn't come back. Thank God for ACV!

EC: Thank you for your feedback! A new page has been created for this condition...

I was diagnosed with MC about 2 months ago, but noticed the first pimple around my genitals back in February. I never knew what it was and just kept popping them and then a new one would form every week. Sometimes a few at a time! Anyway, once I found out what it was I immediately started my research and trying different things (during this time I never shaved/trimmed because I was afraid it will come back). After a steady month and a half of treating it I shaved and noticed a few stragglers. This was a week ago roughly. I was under the impression it takes 3-6 months for this to heal on its own and how long did you leave the baby wipe with the ACV on it? I want to try it because I only have like 3 little pimples left.

Im a 23 year old sexually active male. I noticed 2 bumps on my penis 1 week ago and immediately thought it was warts (HPV). I went to see a doctor at a planned parenthood and she told me it was not warts, definitely not herpes, but looked characteristic of Molluscum with the dimple in the center, however I left undiagnosed and she recommened me see a dermatologist. SO I essentially paid the doc to give me a new disease to google. I decided to forgo the dermatologist due to the wait periods before appointments and because I have read that their treatments are mostly ineffective or take too long to work.

After finding Earth Clinic, I have a newfound hope that I can rid myself of these molluscum. By the way this site is EXCELLENT!!!

I found an article on the web from a dermatology journal (there is a good amount of jargon in the article, so it may be difficult to comprehend for those unversed in medical or biological terms. I myself am a college graduate and have grown accustomed to reading scientific articles, so it was a good informative read for me.)

http://dermatology-s10.cdlib.org/92/reviews/molluscum/diven.html

I learned that the virus only exists inside of the papules (bumps), it is thought that this is how MCV evades detection from the immune system. As I began to learn more about the disease, I felt more empowered... Knowledge truly is power! You'll notice in the article that it lists several treatment options, with evisceration of the lesions being the most effective method. The article also gives details on effectiveness of other treatments.

...Back to my story, so a day or 2 after seeing the doctor, I noticed 2 more bumps on my penis. The bumps are scattered with two on the top side of my penis and 2 more on the underside. I decided to start ACV treatment since I havent been officially diagnosed with MCV and since there are only 4 at the moment, which is easily manageable. I used small pea sized pieces of cotton, soaked in ACV, and taped them to the lesions with band aids. I only do this overnight as I sleep, and after two days, 3 of the 4 have turned dark grey and look a bit scabbed. The 1 bump that has resisted the treatment is very small compared to the others and may not even be MCV at all.

Now, I work fulltime, outside and sweat alot, so I was next concerned with auto-innoculation or spreading of the virus. I read somewhere (possibly on EC) that you can cover the bumps with fingernail polish to help prevent spread. I use fast drying clear fingernail polish and dab it on the bumps with a Q-tip, being sure to use a new swab for each bump, and never dip a swab in the polish after touching the bump.

My routine is as follows for ACV treatment:

1) clean the area with soap/water

2) wipe areas with rubbing alcohol, then peroxide, then alcohol again, then iodine.

3) Next I take the small cotton ball soaked in ACV and tape it down directly over the bumps. Then I wrap my penis with bandaids (2 or 3) to secure the taped cotton balls.

4) go to sleep

5) wake up, remove bandages and note progress

6) clean areas with alcohol, then peroxide, then alcohol, then iodine.

7) now Im ready to cover the bumps since I have to go to work and want to prevent spread. I dab the nail polish directly on the bumps and let dry (I like to give it at least 2 coats). This may sting a bit, even more than the ACV, but to me its worth a few seconds of pain, after the polish dries you cant tell its there.

8) When I get home from work, I wipe the areas with nail polish remover, then take a swower. I use paper towels to dry off my genitals and dry the rest of my body with a towel.

*Helpful hint, try to avoid getting any of the chemicals in the urethra, because it will burn!

I have my fingers crossed that I dont have any new bumps come up, but like I said it has been a week since I noticed them. I will not resume sexual activity until I have gone at least a month without bumps.

I am also taking vitamin C to help boost the immune system. This will be helpful in the case that I have to pop the bumps myself. The article that I referenced says that after popping the bumps and draining them, a massive immuno response occurs due to the injury from popping the bump (this is good), which will then kill any remaining virus partices in the lesion. This makes sense because the virus is sitting, undetected in the bump, but as soon as you puncture the skin, your body will react and the immune system will "investigate" whats going on at the injury site, and the immune system will then be able to find the virus that was previosly undetected and destroy it!

I will have to provide an update sometime soon, but I am currently remaining positive in thought and suggest that you do the same as well. Stressing the disease will not make it go away, so why stress it? Learn as much as you can on the subject and it will feel less devastating as you realize that this is just a puny little coward virus that our bodies are well equipped to destroy!

This is seriously the most horrrendous thing I've dealt with. I cry literally every day because of this. I feel gross and less confident as I have it on my genital area. It sucks. I was prescribed imiquimod which is like aladara and it worked. But I had a few more bumps so I went to the doc to have her scrape them off. She did. The a few days later I saw more pop up. This virus is terrible. I still have been using imiquimod. I tried ACV a couple nights ago and it seemed to have made some smaller. So I'm going to continue this tonight. I really hope this is the answer for me. I can't deal with this anymore. I've literally thought about just offing myself. But, hopefully this ACV will work. I hate having to deal with this.
