[SIDE EFFECTS] 09/24/2011: Samira from Peshawar, Pakistan: "My question to you is that my dogs (breeds black labarodor (2 months old) and Rotweiler (4 months old) had their first vaccination of distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza, parvovirius, leptospirosis). Since their vaccination they have lost appetite, vomiting and severe dirreahea. Please suggest what can be done."
[SIDE EFFECTS] 09/09/2011: Dogma from Haleiwa, Hi: "My Portuguese Water Dog was given full vaccination right before being crated, shipped across country to airport and flown to Hawaii. By the time she arrived, she was listless, would not drink water or eat and within days, she was aggressive to the point that full grown manly men started calling her "devil dog". She also acted like she was ADHD. A few years later a vet "accidentally" gave her a Lepto vaccine w/o my permission (I don't do vaccines any longer) and now I worry we've just made things worse long term. This event was the one that made me learn and research things to do to help with vaccine reactions. Both these two traits (aggerssion/ADHD) have waned a bit with years of feeding raw organic food, doing heavy metal detox, homeopathic vaccine detox (Dr. Gloria Dodd) and more natural approaches. But I fear she will never be "right" and every day I wonder what new thing will pop up in her due to the toxic effects and her sensitive system.
STOP THE MADNESS!!! All I hope is the she hasn't suffered for naught - that her story will continue to encourage other dog owners to re-think all yearly vaccines. Evil madness - and we WiLL be judged on how we protected the innocents."Replies
09/10/2011: Diamond from Salisbury, Usa replies: "Dogma from Haleiwa; It has been stated every where possible that all/any vets have the rights to give any shot they desire as an experimental drug, they may also tell you it's for another purpose/cause; but not true. I'm sorry to read about your dog and I surely hope he heals fast. My prayers are with you and your loving pet. God bless you for standing by your dog.
I sure hope everyone is made aware of what the gov. is ordering vets. to do in order to keep their jobs in tact, but we as humans love and need to protect our pets. I took my cat to a vet because she was sick never knowing that he gave her some thing that killed her right away. Please be aware of your vets. I don't trust any of them."
09/04/2011: Lauren from Medford, Ma: "my 5 year old healthy male dachshund received 3 vaccines on Friday Septmeber 2. He received bordatella, distemper and Lyme disease. A few hours later the area under his chin was swollen and he whimpered to my touch, both on his body and on his mouth. He went back the vet and received 2 shots of Benadryl and a steroid. We still have him on Benadryl orally every 12 hours, but the swollen area under his chin remains.
What should we do next? We are very concerned"Replies
[SIDE EFFECTS] 10/28/2011: Shelly M from Rosenberg, Tx replies: "My 2 year old Dachshund was vaccinated yesterday and has the same thing. He first vomited, face got swollen, and his limbs became cool to the touch. He now has fever and can't seem to do anything to get comfortable. He is absolutely miserable. I am also concerned about the loose area under his chin. My Oscar is the sweetest little guy around and after yesterday, he doesn't even act like the same dog... I am extremely sad."
[SIDE EFFECTS] 08/31/2011: Deborah Morten from Parkville, Missouri: "I have not owned a dog in over 20 years, so I'm not sure if there's a causal relationship between the corona shot that my pupy received or not, but my gut feeling tells me that there is.
Almost 2 weeks ago, we bought an 8-week-old cream Chow Chow puppy from an inexperienced breeder (she was young and didn't feel the need to give me any instructions or tell me much about the little guy unless I asked).
He seemed pretty docile and lethagic until my husband and I decided to stop and get a sandwich at the local Arby's. As soon as my husband opened the sandwich carton, the puppy went wild! We figured that he was starvng, so we gave him a few small pieces of roast beef. So that we could eat our meal, we put him in a little carrier until we finished eating.
We went to the nearest store we could find and bought a can of dog food to tide him over for our long ride home (almost 2 hours). He went after that food with a vengeance! I believe he ate about 1/3 to 1/2 of the can of food. After he finished, I felt his ribs and he felt very thin to me--his little ribs were very palpable.
That night, his stomach was so tight that I called my vet. He was not able to defecate, although he tried several times. We followed the vet's advice and gave him 1/2 tsp. Of oil to help. The next day his stomach was good, but he had diarrhea.
Monday came and I took him to the vet to get checked. I had no idea that they were going to give him a shot because I told them that he had his shots and his wormer 2 weeks prior. They gave him the 3rd round of shots anyway and I gave him the wormer(liquid) when we got home.
The next day, our puppy (by now we had named him Picachu) was breathing laboriously, was coughing, sneezing, and had a runny nose. My husband read on a vaccine box in the pet store that this is a normal reaction to the vaccine.
However, this bothered me, so I took Picachu back to the vet this past Friday. It was found that there was an increased amount of bacteria in his stomach. So, she put him on antibiotics (one liquid called Albon and another in a pill form) that she said would cover the respiratory end and the stomach.
He seems to be getting better--having normal stools and although the respiratory symptoms are still there, they're not as bad as they were."
08/31/2011: Michelle from Calgary, Alberta Canada: "I have a 7 year old boxer and a 1 year old boxer. Best of friends up until a month ago. Both had their annual shots on a Friday, and both had surgery on the Wednesday following (the youngest was spayed, and the oldest had dental surgery). Since then, the youngest has started being very aggressive... She began right after the surgery visously attacking the older boxer, then turned into more dominance fighting (that has now turned agressive, because she realized if she grabbed the older dogs ear, she could not be pinned). I had heard that the change in behaviour could have been caused by receiving her rabies injection a few days before surgery and her low immune system could not deal with the injection, causing her to be abnormally agressive. My questions are "have you heard of this before? and will it wear off?"
[DEATH REPORTED] 08/20/2011: Jryan0719 from Berlin, Ct: "Brought my 2 cats to Petco for their vaccinations. The next day Tiger who is normally very happy go lucky was limping and crying and him sore when we touched him. After rushing him to the er, xrays and blood work they thought he may have been hit by a car. The next day he was perfectly fine. One week after the shot we found him listless and seemingly paralyzed on one side. Again we rushed him to the vet. We told he had recently had vaccinations but they kept insisting it was not the cause of his problems. They said he had neurological damage. At the vet he seized, his hind legs went straight out and he was unable to control them. The vet gave him no hope so we put him down. How does a healthy 2 1/2 year cat go from perfectly healthy to dead in a week if it weren't from the shot?"Replies
[WARNING!] 09/02/2011: Jann from Gastonia, Nc replies: "i am extremely sorry for the loss of your beloved kitty. unfortunately, it is most probable that the cause of his death was the vaccine. vaccines contain some horrible additives and chemicals that can cause reactions in many pets in different ways. if people will take the time to research the side effects of vaccines and shots, it may save a lot of pets' lives. for example, the only vaccine required by law for cats in most states is the rabies vaccine. however, that rabies vaccine contains an adjuvant, a chemical irritant in it that is supposed to increase its effectiveness by getting the rabies vaccine into the muscle faster. now people are becoming more & more aware that these shots are causing cancer at the site that the vaccines are given in the animal!
it's sad and very tragic that vets don't tell people about this. they make money from vaccinations, but these cat vaccines are dangerous and most of them aren't even necessary especially if your pet doesn't go outside. my cats are all indoors only! they do not get any other vaccines except an annual rabies shot, required by our county law!
i found a local vet who gives only one brand of vaccine, merial, and they do not add any adjuvants to their rabies vaccines. therefore, this helps to reduce and eliminate the possibility of cancers caused at the vaccine site. my cats are healthy and happier, and i feel a lot better using these vaccines, even though they do cost a bit more than the average vaccines that contain all the bad stuff. please do your research as much as possible.
good luck, and i hope you can replace your kitty and give another one a really good home!"
[SIDE EFFECTS] 08/12/2011: Joanne from New Hampshire: "My mother tool our beloved 10 year old miniature Schnauzer to the vet for her yearly check up. Our regular vet was on holidays and this "new" vet suggested that my mother should give her a lyme vaccination because it had been so long. Mom agreed. As mom got through the door at home, Jenny she went directly to her crate came out, was very disoriented then promptly threw up. She became lethargic. Mom called the vet's office and they told her to bring her back now as Jenny is most likely having a reaction to the vaccination. Mom made it to the vet and they wisked Jenny to a room where she just layed there lifeless barely breathing. They administered the antidote, said nothing, and left mom, dad and Jenny by themselves. What seemed like an eternity was a 20 minute agony ridden time. Jenny's breathing was very shallow and she was definatly close to deaths door. Finally she gave 3 huge deep breaths and picked her head up. She was not herself for a couple of weeks. Now three months later mom is noticing lumps near the site where the vaccination and antidote were administered and mom noticed a lump in her mouth that pushed one of her teeth out. Jenny surgery yesterday to remove the lumps in her body as well as the mouth but the vet said that the lump in her mouth was more extensive and was not just in the front tooth area but went up the pallet. We are waiting for pathology results to confirm what our vet seems to think is cancer. Anyone know if the marine grade coral calcium from Japan, Vitamin D3 and a good dog multi will cure the cancer? Thank you Dr. Robert Barefoot!!"
[SIDE EFFECTS] 08/10/2011: Maribel Lopez from Tucson, Arizona/pima County: "I have a 4 yr old pug and she had never had gotten any type of vaccines. I found her under a tree in a river dying of parvo, wrapped in a blanquet. I knew it was Parvo because my previous chihuahua had died of parvo and she had the same symptoms. I took her to get her first parvo and rabies shot in April 2011 and a little over a month later she started vomiting after she ate. She vomits foam with the food. I've switched foods like crazy for her because she is extremely allergic to corn oil. And also super delicate to what she eats. So I never took her back to get the 2nd shots of vaccines right after the first one's. It's been almost 3 months she vomits after she eats and is super skinny. But is always hungry, drinks alot of water is super energetic when I take her to the park. I seriously don't know what to do or think. I don't trust the vaccines and I know if I take her to a Vet the first thing is to give her the next 2 vaccines. Please help me!"
[SIDE EFFECTS] 08/09/2011: Jackie1544 from Rochester, United Kingdom: "I have 12 cats and have fostered cats for many years. I have experienced vac reactions in 1st vac kitten vaccinations. One litter I had 2 out of the 3 had a reaction. One with limping syndrome, 2 days post vac, and the other lethargic and sickly for a few days. Both ok for 2nd vac. An elderly cat I have, stray so age unknown but into his teens, had regular yearly vacs with me for up to 2 years ago. He experienced lethargy for 3 days. Had to have sub cut fluids on day 2. Behaved like he had reumatic pain, couldn't have nsaid as renal insufficiency. I have known people who have commented that after vacs their pets seem to have delayed reactions. Some have told me about incidents of being involved in rta within days of vaccinations. I have never read any literature about this before."
[DEATH REPORTED] 08/09/2011: Distrbd1 from Cheektowaga, Ny: "June 2011 my wife took our 51/2 yr. Old Minature Schnauzer to the vet for his annual checkup. She was told that We have a very healthy dog. The vet at that time offered to her at that time that our dog Otto be given a Lymes vaccine. Our vet knowing us , that We would do anything for our dog to be healthy she quickly agreed to the shot. She brought the dog home and all was well. 1 month later the dog was to come back for a booster. Within a week after Otto just wasn't himself. Eventually He became very lethargic, stoppd eating which was very unusual for him. Then he stopped drinking water and did not want to go outside. We took him into the vet at which time He told us We had a very sick dog. He was there for the day on IVs and antibiotics and then he was sent home at closing time. Otto was then drinking water but to our dissbelief starting urinating a full stream of blood and nothing but blood came out of him from his back side. The next morning We were back at the vets and had told him of the horrifying things that were happening. He examined the dog and said there was nothing he could do and the dog should be put to sleep. It wasn't what we wanted to hear but it was something that had to be done. A month later we now have a new Minature schnauzer and are definetly changing vets. Are Schnauzers a breed that should never be given this type of vaccine which I have read in many articles. ?????? Thank You very much for any assistance DISTRBD1"
[SIDE EFFECTS] 07/14/2011: Deep from Coimbatore, India: "Hello,
I got my 5 month old labrador shot with coronovirus vaccine. After 3 days the puppy got sick and developed the symptoms of coronovirus. It started vomitting and lost its appetite. What could be the reason for this and what are is the treatment to be given ???"
[SIDE EFFECTS] 07/08/2011: James from Cincinnati, Ohio: "My almost 9 week old American Bulldog developed small pimple like yellow dots close to his penis after his first set of shots and worming. Also some loose stool. I will keep an eye on this to make sure it dosent get any worse."
[SIDE EFFECTS] 06/21/2011: Stephy from Upper Marlboro, Maryland Usa: "Cody is a pure bread long haired mini daschund he received a distemper shot and a rabies shot and ended up sick like he had the flu. Mucus coming from his eyes and major vomiting! Most recently he has lost his will to eat. I don't know what to do to get him to eat on his own, are there any suggestions on what to do?"Replies
06/22/2011: Karen from Tucson, Az replies: "Get your dog back to the vet or emergency clinic... ASAP!"
06/23/2011: 5 Pooches Homes from Houston, Tx replies: "DO NOT vaccinate your dog ever again. In the meantime, go get Thuja 30C from some health store like Whole Foods and give your dog around 10 pellets 2 times per day or estimate based on size.
This should take away the effect of vaccination."
[SIDE EFFECTS] 06/18/2011: Britt from Tucson, Az: "My 5 month old chihuahua/poodle mix puppy just received his last round of puppy boosters. The breeder gave him the first round, the Humane Society the second round, and the vet just gave him the last round yesterday. She asked if he had any reactions to previous vaccines and I stated no, he did not. The last time I took him for his shots he was completely fine that evening and the following days, playing and everything.
Last night my dog couldn't sleep at all because he was continuously yelping. Anyway he tried to lay, it hurt him. This morning was no better. I called the vet and they had me bring him in to give him another shot called Metacam that is supposed to relieve the pain. I couldn't even get the harness on him because it went over his shoulder and that's where he received the first shot.
After the Metacam, he is still very lethargic and yelping but not as much. I hope by tomorrow he returns to himself. The vet assistant actually said that in the future, we may have to refrain from vaccinating him because of his extreme sensitivity to vaccines. We plan on keeping him in the house after puppy classes anyway and I don't want to see him go through this again."
[SIDE EFFECTS] 06/17/2011: Ginger from Phoenix, Az: "The beginning of 2011, my two year old Shichon received the three year parvo/distempter booster. By morning, she could not walk. When she attempted to walk she could not walk in a straight line. She would not eat, drink or play and later in the day developed a limp. I called the vet and immediately took her into the office. I was told to watch for vomiting. Vomiting never occurred but she was not back to her regular self for three entire days! I was told by the vet complaining to the manufacturer would be a waste of time so I felt very helpless. I will NEVER have my dogs vaccinated again! TOO RISKY!
From my research, most dogs do not need the booster shots. A titer blood test can determine this. What a shock that the manufacturers finally are claiming the same "yearly" boosters are now good for three years instead of one year. Non-traditional vets have been saying for years that yearly boosters are not necessary and are very harmful."
