HOT SPOT ON 5 YR OLD PUG
07/02/2007: Millie from Poplar Bluff, Missouri writes: "I have a 5 yr old Pug and she has been the picture of health until the last couple weeks! She has hot spots that will heal as long as we leave a collar/cone on her head so she can't lick/dig at it. I have done the cool bath with oatmeal shampoo for dogs which helps make her feel better, I am now using a betadine surgical wash, rinsing it thourghly and then appling witch hazel, it seems to calm her down as she is not running all over the house wimpering like she did before, my question is: how often do I need to treat the hot spot areas in a days time? I will HAVE TO leave the cone on her because IF I don't, she is back to licking/digging and breaking the spots out again so bad that they are beet red and raw again."
