Algae as Food for Your Dog
Chlorella is a green algae food source that multiplies rapidly utilizing only water, CO2, sunlight, and a minor number of minerals. When dried, chlorella is 45% protein, 20% fat, 20% carbohydrate, and 5% fiber, making it a good potential source of protein. Chlorella supplements have been advocated for weight control, cancer prevention, and immune system strength. Chlorella is safe for both human and animal consumption, and is an excellent source of calories and vitamins.

03/14/2009: Jonny from Flushing, NY: "Chlorella with Nsaids: My 11 year old collie is on Metacam for arthritis. I check her blood and urine every 3 months and she is doing fine. Can I also give her chlorella or will there be side effects? I know some natural remedies affect the absorption rates of the non-steroidals and also have blood thinning effects. Please respond back."
[YEA] oanne from Goldendale, WA: "Give your dog chlorella for arthritis and other ailments...My 15 year old dog is young again...Last winter he was at death's door..I give 4 tabs 500 mg. daily. Complete recovery."
[YEA] Vickey : "Cholorella: I started my 1 year old pup on this because of the positive results I am having on myself. I gave her one 500mg tab and it did not make her loose. I want to send my brother for his 15 year old baby."
[YEA] 12/31/2008: Rachel from Eugene, OR: "Chlorella for dogs: My aunts maltese got into rat poison. His body began to shut down, he lost his hair, his tongue turned black and the end fell off...the vet told her he could be of no help and would make a house call if she needed him put down. She used a large syringe with no needle to give him water with a high concentrated amount of the brand Sun Chlorella, for pets. Im not sure what else she may have done to help nurse him back to health, we are all naturalists in the family and its probably not the only remedy that contributed, but he recovered and she contributed it to the chlorella entirely. It took a while for the hair to grow back (the tip of his tongue never did) and he never looked the same, but he lived a happy 10 more years."
08/31/2012: Gina from Cullman, Alabama Usa: "My Frenchies seem to always smell. After trying several recommended pet products unsucessfully, I'm wondering if the Chlorophyll could work? (Deer hunters seem to think it helps keep the game from smelling them. ) I would like input before I give it to my dogs."
