Dan from Dublin, Ireland writes: "I have an 18 year old jack russel that was diagnosed with cancer in November 2011. She was very weak and little appetite with at least 5 visible tumors, the vet said the only option was to put her down. Sooner rather than later.

I visited a chinese herbalist who recommended I feed her milk thistle, reishi mushroom and a herbal tea high in antioxidants (rooibos), I started giving her 5 drops of reishi liquid extract and 100ml of strongly brewed rooibos tea along with the milk thistle.

I can't put into words but the results were simply miraculous. Her tumours shrank and her appetite increased tenfold. After three weeks there was no visible tumours, the vet couldn't believe it when the MRI scan came back clear. Just wanted to share my story and hopefully you can add this to the pet cancer section.

[YEA] John Wood from Stanardsville, Virginia writes: "I need to share what happend to my black lab, Teddy Bear. Maybe some of you reading this will be able to help your pet recover. Teddy developed a knot on his rectum around age 9. I thought it was just a hemmoroid but after several weeks it began bleeding. The area around the opening took on a bruised appearance with yellow, orange, reddish, and black colors and he began to act like he didn't feel well. I took him to the vet and was told it was cancer. He had surgery but withing a few months it was back. I took him in for more surgery. They removed several thumb size tumors and stiched him up. I was told that they didn't think they got it all. At that point I began praying for his recovery. The next day I received a cassete tape in the mail about a product called Pycnogenol. I listened to the tape on the way into work the next day. The narriator talked about all these folks that had cancer and other serious diseases taking this stuff and recovering completely. I had bought some of this stuff for myself about a year earlier in the hopes it would help me with chronic fatigue. It did nothing so I put it in the medicine cabinet and forgot about it. Anyway I heard the narriator tell that the most important thing about taking Pycnogenol is to take it 1 mg per pound of body weight. Well I figured Teddy weighed 90 pounds so I did the math and found that 5 capsules were needed to get close to his weight. I sprinkled the contents of the capsules on his food. Honestly I could not believe what happened next. Within one day of consuming just the first dose his rear end began to turn pink. He began to act like he felt a bit better. I gave him a second dose the next day and again daily from then on. By the time a week had passed you wouldn't believe it was the same dog. He was running and barking like he was a pup again. I kept him on the product until the bottle ran out. Withing a couple of weeks he began getting another spot on his butt so I put him back on the product. The knot went away. He stayed on Pyconogenol the rest of his life but he lived to the ripe old age of 17. I had to put him to sleep because his hips gave out, he couldn't walk, and he couldn't control his bladder & bowels any longer. I hated to do it but I had tried all that I knew to do. I stiil miss him....... But he lived 8 years longer than he would have if I hadn't had my prayer answered. Thank you Lord.

Let me say that there are differences between Pycnogenol and pine bark extract. Pine bark extract is a little bit cheaper than Pycnogenol but did not produce any effects for Teddy. I did not notice any difference between Pycnogenol brands.

Katie from Fort Collins, Colorado writes: "My 8 yr old yellow lab riley had been having trouble opening her mouth and chewing so I tried to open her mouth to look inside and she was in a lot of pain and could not open her mouth without yelping. I watched her for a few days then noticed a large lump on her upper jaw. I took her to the vet and they did xrays and told me it is cancer. They said I can have her go into surgery but it is very tricky due to where it is or have her go through radiation. Both of these treatments are not guarateed to work and cost thousands of dollars that I do not have. The vet said that I can medicate her so she is not in pain but the tumor will continue to grow until she cannot open her mouth. I can't sit and wait for that to happen. She is a very healthy happy dog and I need to do something to make her better.

The bone on the one side of her jaw is also much thinner than the other side. I have been researching on the ACV and Budwig Protocol but I'm not sure if I should start anything else in conjunction with these. If anyone has any advice that would be great!

Casey from Yuma, Az writes: "My dog of 7 years, Pippie, developed a tumor back in July of 2011. We had it removed in September 2011. Once removed it clustered into numerous tumors around the surgery line. At this point we knew she had mast cell tumors. The first surgery didn't remove all the cancer, this new cluster of tumors spread fast and moved into her lymph node. We have removed the tumors on the skin along with the affected lymph node and she is currently going thru radiation treatments. Once radiation is complete she will start Chemo next week.

I just learned about turmeric and Curcumin and found a dog food that contains turmeric (Solid Gold). I've started to feed her this food and have high hopes that it will prevent any other tumors from forming. My concern is how much turmeric is in this dog food. Is it enough? Since the tumor made it to her lymph nodes, the cancer cells could have traveled anyway. I wonder if I should take her off the dog food and give her a manual dose.

Any suggestions?

I see that ACV and Budwigs Protocal are highly recommended. My question is can I do both of these at the same time? Also, will there be any reactions with his current meds the vet gave him (antibiotics and steroids)? I am also cutting out all dry foods and grains and will be making his own organic foods (chicken, organs, etc).

Thanks for any and all answers in advance.

Mary from Girard, Kansas, Usa writes: "Hi Ted,

I know how busy you are but I am hoping that you can reply as soon as you are able. My yorkie has lymphoma with hugh lymph nodes all over her body. The vet basically sent her home to die. She weighs about 8-9 pounds. I am giving her reishi mushrooms and astralagus and l-lysine. I am guessing and the amounts because she is so small. Do you know the dosage for a small 8 pound dog? I want to give her the dmso with butyeric acid but I cannot find it anywhere. There is a product called buteraid which has a buteric acid from calcium and magnesium. It comes in a pill form. Would this product work?

Also I can buy DMSO, but I don't know if it would help without the buteric acid or the tributeric.

If you could recommend a way to use the DMSO that would help I would appreciate it or any other suggestions?

Thank you so much for your help.

Kerstin from Emeryville, Ca, Usa writes: "In February this year 2011, I had to bring my 8 year old Great Dane to UC Davis emergency and they found a huge mass on his spleen. They did surgery on him and removed his spleen and he was diagnosed with hemangioscarcoma and told me without chemo he would have 19 days to 2 months to live and with chemo 5 to 6 months.

At the time I was in a state of shock and agreed to do chemo but after doing some research and seeing what my poor dog had to go through (5 people holding him down and him crying howling 30 minutes straight!! ) Anyway, long story short, I decided to hell with chemo, I'd rather see him live a quality life for a shorter time than live longer in misery.

When researching the internet I came across "the Budwig Protocol". Basically what it is is Organic Flaxseed Oil (the kind you find in a bottle @ Whole Food's refridgerated section) and Organic Cottage Cheese Lowfat.

I hope you will check in to this because all I know is that it's been 8 months now since my Great Dane was given max 2 months to live and he is doing GREAT!!

Twice a day I give it to him and I will continue doing so all his life. In addition to the cottage cheese and flaxseedoil, I feed him raw meat (chicken turkey necks tripe etc) supplements like Glutamine, Arginine (spelling?), milkthistle, garlic, multi vitamin). What I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT feed him is dryfood, carbohydrates, rice, processed food etc.

I think the reason for his Hemangiosarcoma has to do with genetics and the toxic environment we live in but I blame in particular all the vaccinations that I unfortunately gave him the first years of his life. If I knew then what I know now.. but I didn't.

I have come across a Great Dane breeder who has a litter of puppies that are 4th generation with no vaccinations! That is the way to go! In the meantime I am loving and appreciating every single day that I get to enjoy with my wonderful companion!

Good Luck! Oh by the way, I have started the Budwig Protocol myself to hopefully prevent any future cancer or other desease.

Yes please do your own research! You will not regret it!

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand writes: "Dogs are unique, like people over 200 years ago, cancer is very hard to find. And the one thing they have in common is sugar. Sugar consumption is next to nothing if we go back 100 or 200 years, but dog cancer is only a relative recent phenomenon, as they started off with dog food, which contains animals that are euthanized, carbohydrates, and sweets to make them more tasty. I traced the cancer of dogs to basically two things, carbohydrate consumption and wheat products, carbohydrates that are major causes is chocolate, and other confectionary. The treatment for most dog is usually a lot easier than treating human cases, because humans are now addicted to sugar, such as fruits, pineapple, coconut milk, and others. The treatment is also easy and clear cut if you treat cancer for dogs amazingly enough, for a couple of reasons, basically their liver produces vitamin C and vitamin B complex, which are water soluble vitamins, while humans do not. The other things is most human cancer has blood sugar are above 100, with average above 120, while dogs, has 85, which gives them a good chance of success to begin with as well as consistency, since you don't even have to worry about vitamin C, vitamin B and getting sugar to normal in cancer patient, and actually most of the efforts is geared to that! So getting rid of cancer if you don't have to worry about it is quite simple in dogs. Except in dog cancer with cachexia, and that's when the liver is so toxic.

The remedy for dog cancer is as follows: reishi mushroom, bromelain, and sabah snake grass. I gave another dog, in addition to that, lysine, butyric acid, and DMSO, for the tumor that is growing and it also disappeared in 3 months. The reishi mushroom was powdered, and mix in 10% bromelain and 10% sabah snake grass powder. The two substances that I know convert cancer cells to normal cells (that I also tried) were DMSO and butyric acid, so it is a 50/50 mix. Why I don't give butyric acid to humans is they smell, but dog's don't mind! But for humans we actually have a much more expensive solution, tributyrin so we don't have to give butyric acid more often, but actually it is more like getting the patents, you can't patent butyric acid and what's wrong with giving that 5 or 8 times a day? So they operate the same, but butyric acid just metabolizes more quickly. Lysine is given to prevent the spread of cancer which does very well, I don't give threonine unless the dog also has weakened energy. The other supplements that responded well to all dogs, is the astralagus, 1000 mg. a day, works for cancer in general and other ailments such as kidney. The diets of dogs should be meats, not vegetarian, especially raw meats and organ meats. The only restrictions in cancer for humans and dogs I make is very simple just one: sugar. And all foods is best if given raw or partially cooked, as it won't cause constipation and requires less enzymes then you would to to cooked foods, so generally speaking if you get cancer you want these enzymes to digest the cancer and not have constipation, which is common in cancer patients.

So if we learn from dogs not what to do and what do, it offers an easy explanation to why we get cancer, which is no flour (especially white wheat flour), carbs, glucose, sugar, maltodextrin, and most important of all is the fructose, which is found in fruits. You can eat fruit extracts, which don't contain sugar, and reap all the benefit without the negative side effects. And it brings to the importance of water soluble vitamins, the vitamin B and the vitamin C in humans also.

Ted

Has anyone used this?? He had been on Orbax for upper respiratory infection, which after several days seems not 2 be helping, profuse snotty discharge from both nostrils, lots of mucousy stuff in mouth. I am very concerned for his breathing since this meaty mass of tumor covers major part of back of mouth area. I quit the H2O2 therapy but am starting it again. I would love anyone's help, experience with anything like this. I do not know for sure what I can apply topically to the tumor, other than spraying with. 5% H2O2 usually 2xday. I had him on Nu-Feline Granulars which have fish protein but also have quite a few carbohydrates, so am unsure if he should have this with this tumor. I have been mostly feeding him baby food with whey protein (on casein) Pet tinic, some ester Vit c, Radical raiders antioxidant formula and Immune Defense which is a combo of abt 15 different medicinal mushroom. Am waiting to get new supplement Only Natural Pet Immune Strenghthener-has a lot of testimonials for lymphoma, mast cell tumors, but I saw no mention of possible squamous cell, in case that may be what he has.
[YEA] Sweets from Sutton, Surrey writes: "2 months ago, we sent our 11.5 year old cat to the vet as he was losing weight, not eating and looking very ill. The vet diagnosed him through x-rays and blood tests (low blood count - putting him under GA twice) as having a fast growing cancer that was stopping him from breathing properly. As this was spreading fast, we were advised to put him down. There was no way I was going to do this without a fight so my wife (who is a GP) and I spent 2 nights researching online and came up with the following treatment:

1) Morning: 1 ml of flaxseed oil, 2 ml of Essiac tea, 4 - 5 ml of a well known brand of chicken essence; 1 pippete (c. 2 ml) of liquid multivitamin (for babies); 1 tablet of transfer factor (we take the powder out of the capsule, put it onto a small spoon drop it into his mouth.
2) Noon: 1 ml of flaxseed oil, 2 ml Essiac tea and 4-5 ml chicken essence
3) 5:30/6pm: As for breakfast PLUS 1 x 5mg prednicare tablet to stimulate his appetite
4) 10:30/11pm: as per his Noon time treatment

We also gave him steamed (I avoid microwaving!) cod or coley fish (which we buy frozen from the supermarkets - so very convenient).

Within a week, he was much better and eating really well. He has put on weight; his coat is glossy; and is pretty sprightly for his age - well enough to get into a fight with our neighbourhood rogue cat which ended with him getting a bitten - and now infected ear which I am treating with tea tree oil.

By the way, we brought him to the vet a fortnight after starting his treatment and the vet sure was shocked by his recovery.

From next week, I intend to reduce his treatment to 3 times a day i.e. leaving out the noon feed.

If your cat (or dog?) is in a similar situation as my cat was, try out the above. Naturally, you may have to up the dose if it is a dog."

Ingrid from Geneva, OH writes: "I want to try the hydrogen peroxide treatment for my small dog. He weighs approximately 16 pounds. I was told he has a nasal/sinus tumor. I've been treating with cottage cheese and flax oil and MSM and transfer factor plus at present. Also tried eissac, turmeric, and some other supplements. The lump was growing and shrinking, went away completely and now is very big. Surgery cannot be done due to the location behind/above his eye and being close to the brain. I'm a bit nervous to try the 35% food grade as it seems dangerous to try. Has anyone used the 3% regular hydrogen peroxide from the store and had any success? Would this be safer to use? What dosage would I use and how would I use it/administer it of the 3% and of the 35%? He's had this since April 2008. The first 7-8 months I was told it was a sinus infection (by 3 different vets). Nov. 2008 I took him to emergency for a bulging eye and was told it was carcinoma."

[YEA] Kathie from Mesa, AZ writes: "Cancer and Essiac Tea and FOCC (Flaxseed Oil and Cottage Cheese):

My boxer pit bull mix was diagnosed with osteosarcoma of his right shoulder last September. This is extremely metastastic and spreads to the lungs quickly, and in 95% of the cases, by the time of diagnosis it is already in the lungs. I initially did not amputate because he was 12-1/2 years and the vet said the prognosis was so poor. I immediately started him on 1 cup total a day of essiac tea (made by Resperin company, as research on internet said you should buy from the original company) and 1 cup total of cottage cheese a day mixed with 4 - 6 tbsp of fresh cold flaxseed oil a day, divided in 2 doses. He was still alive 5 months later which is almost impossible, but the bone tumor did not disappear and was causing him pain. I decided to amputate but docs wanted x-rays first to see if his lungs were full of cancer. There was NONE. He is a 3 legged, cancer free 13 year old happy dog today. The vets can't even explain it, and will not acknowledge it had anything to do with holistic treatments, only to say it is a fluke that it did not spread. They said he will at this point die of some other old age related dog disorder. :)
