Robert Varela has a private healing practice in Martinez, California. He has been called the healer's healer. He is gifted with natural born abilities of energetic healing which he terms 'hands off' healing as he does not need to place hands directly on the client. He is also a gifted empath and has developed this gift to focus in deeply and thus intuit the source of problems affecting the constitution of clients. Robert has a medical background in Respiratory Therapy, Emergency Techniques Instructor, & Pulmonary Function Tech. The family herbal tradition was passed to him by his mother who was his first client at an early age. He studied with ethnobotonist, author Dr. Andoh & was offered a key clinical position in Ghana. He studied yoga and meditation practices with Dr. Luchakova, M. D. , PhD, who mentored him as instructor. He studied with native Cherokee healer D. Stevens for 8 years whose family he has healed of many illnesses. He also introduced Stevens to other healing modalities previously unknown to her lineage. Robert has consulted with many diverse peoples and has collborated with other healers. He did study Reiki only to be told he has his own overiding healing ability. Robert has studied herbs, nutrition, & spirituality most of his life with a passion for helping others. His primary expertise is his counseling skills & his clients know they are listened to with compassion. Healing cannot begin until the client is heard and it is during this process of mutual discovery and interchange that healing proceeds. The energetic exchange is a gift and an art. Robert believes that every person who asks for his help is a gift and feels honored to assist in their healing process.
