Susan Brown is a minister and healer in private practice in Los Angeles, California. Trained and ordained by the Rev. Rosalyn L. Bruyere of the Healing Light Center Church, she focuses much of her practice toward people dealing with acute and chronic illness. Available for house and hospital calls throughout the Los Angeles area, her emphasis is on the comfort and empowerment of the client, and on the development of an integrative team approach to wellness and healing. Her long commitment to complementary and integrative medicine has led to her active involvement with the Integrative Medicine Task Force of the Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, and with Temenos, a resource organization for those touched by cancer. Committed as well to the personal growth and professional development of healers, wherever they may be, she is is a member of the faculty of the European-based Snowlion Center School, and an independent teacher of the art and theory of healing. Additionally, she makes herself available to provide apprenticeship and supervision opportunities to healers in practice and advanced students; long-distance supervision can be arranged via e-mail and telephone. Central to Susan Brown's way of working is the belief that expansion is healthier than contraction. From that belief flows a philosophy that inquiry is healthier than dogmatism, and that an integrated view of health is preferable to an "alternate" approach.
