OREGANO OIL

[YEA]  09/14/2011: Shannon from San Antonio, Tx writes: "Just wanted to share my wonderful experience curing my yeast infection. I had been going through a rough month with a lot of travel and a lot of stress and hardly any sleep. The week before my period I had the most horrible yeast infection! I was even really swollen and in really bad pain.

Anyway I researched cures on earth clinic and came across oregano oil cures. I applied five drops of it mixed with 1 teaspoon coconut oil. I did this three to four times a day for 3 days although my symptoms were gone by the first day and on the thrid treatment! The first time I applied it stung and burned horribly. I persevered because I was desperate and because other creams made it worse and because diflucan takes five days to work and I wasn't willing to wait that long... Even though working as an RN with a doctor I can get it for free. The point is it worked!!! I haven't had recurrences since then and it has been about 6 months already. I strongly urge anyone that is suffering from yeast infections to try this remedy. Forget vagisil, or clotrimazole, or suppositories, try this... Use a tampon to apply if you need to but try it. It works. God bless earth clinic."

[YEA]  03/29/2009: Linda from Langhorne, PA writes: "I write to help others with distress in their feminine and colon parts that involves itching and painfulness (when these parts do or do not show visible redness) when yeast medicines like monistat are not completely effective to remove the symptoms. I douche with provodone iodine and find relief almost immediately but must continue with daily douches (yes up both body parts) for one week (7 days). I have never found an m.d. who recommends this -- i have been recommended metranizole but that is taken orally and can have yukky side effects.

Good luck ladies--feel better. You should."

REMEDIES NEEDED

12/27/2011: Deirdre from Dublin, Ireland writes: "Ted, I've had chronic vaginal yeast infection for two years. I developed it after giving birth. It never goes away. I also experience smelly gas. I had numerous candida treatments (colon cleanse, anti candida diet, GSE, h2o2, Bentonite Clay, Psyllium Husk, probiotics etc). Nothing to avail. It is so frustrating. Could you please, please help me? I would be greatful for any advice. Thank you so much."

09/11/2011: Eb from Victoria, Canada writes: "I have tried multiple natural remedies for yeast in the past, but didn't have much success fighting them without using OTC topical treatments. I started developing another yeast infection two weeks ago so I figured I'd just use a 6 day clotromizole treatment right away. It seemed to be almost gone, but I would still get a bit of itching in the evenings while using it. After the last dose, my symptoms started increasing. I tried apple cider vinegar baths and direct vinegar application to the area, which seemed to keep the symptoms down for a number of hours at first. However, after about 4 days of this I was just feeling totally inflamed and sore, and still have major itching that is driving me nuts, and am no longer experiencing any real relief with the ACV. I was also trying garlic cloves vaginally, tea tree and probiotics, and am generally on a good diet (vegetarian, low sugar, low dairy other than yogurt). I gave up yesterday and I am trying another OTC, which has yet to help. I'm also waiting on another lab test - the first didn't show yeast or BV, but my doctor figures it may have been negative for yeast since I had the test right after finishing the clotromizole. I am worried that I have a resistant strain or something! I really wish the ACV worked for me! And I'm open to suggestions! I got boric acid, which I will try after I finish the OTCs if necessary (hopefully not! )"

08/18/2011: Germanwoman from Tennessee, Millington Usa writes: "Good Evening, today was the first day ive ever come across this page. I thank GOD I did. I am 31 years old and ever since I have turned this age I have been experiencing the burnning and the iching of what I thought was a yeast infection a week or before my cycle every mouth, It itches more than anything and get extremely DRY. When my husband and I tried to be intimate the very first time this happened I was in pain for years. Not to mention all of the other thing I tried along the way like monistat and vagisil.... OMG when I inserted I thought Satan had invited just my vagina to hell and made her his personal assitant. (lol) but that is the best way I can decribe it.

Well today is augt. 18 2011 and I have two weeks or less till my period shows up and lo and behold here it is again the DRYNESS AND THE ITCHING.. so I went to wal- mart prepared to just buy some of those luqui beads to insert into the vaginal area, but while reading the box I saw a vaginal gel called RepHresh, I bought it because on the box it says it is "clinically show to maintain healthy vaginal pH" so its inserted now as I type and the moisture is there but the Iching STILL Remains.... So as I read on I see where on the back of the box it has the words Lactobacillus which I rememered instantly my doctor giving me samples of one time. So I also bought a bottle. Now ive taken 3 already. Not to mention I have ringworms for the first time ever since I was like 5 years old all across the front of my hair line, my ears and the back of my neck. My doctor percsribed Ketoconazole 200mg 2x daily but it has cause me to Bleed rectally I dont mean to be wordy or gross u out but I am just miserable... ANYBODY that knows how I can get some type of RELEIF for BOTH the vaginal or ring worm problem please help. I wanna try the apple vinegar douche I just dont know how to mix it. PLEASE HELP."

03/17/2011: Shelley Williams from Wenatchee, Washington Usa writes: "I found your site while doing a google search for issues with my dog having a possible yeast infection. I have recently been diagnosed with systemic yeast (Candiasis) I had been treated with 2 courses of Nystatin and then 2 doses of Diflucan a week apart. Now 3 weeks later my issues are back again. I thought I would search for more practical answers as to why this is a persistant problem for me. I had taken antibiotics a few times in the last several months, pain killers, and a few other medications. I was scoped a few weeks ago and they diagnoses Diverticulosis and removed a pre-cancer polyp from the Sigmoid. I have put on several pounds since Christmas, 25 pounds in the first 5 weeks, then I went down a bit then back up another 10 pounds in the last 2 weeks.

I currently have thrush, vaginal yeast, foot fungus on both feet, serious digestive issues and gas, and it smells like something crawled inside me and died TWICE!

Since my dog seems to have some issues with bad gas and stomach noises that aren't typical, I thought I would do some research. He has had a history of issues with food allergies. I had to put him on a lamb and rice diet about 2 years ago, but he has done just fine with that, no problems with break outs on the skin or anything. He does get a bit itchy sometimes but I figure he's prone because he is a grey and white (dilute) American Staffordshire Terrier, just turned 4 years old. I have been feeding him Nature's Recipe for well over a year now, without any issues.

This last summer I had noticed his claws were turning a reddish brown up at the quick. I wasn't too sure what that was from, but I didn't worry about it too much because he wasn't having the breakout between his toes like before when he was on the other food. However, the skin between his toes has changed color, it isn't that fresh light pink color anymore.

I read on a forum where someone said that indicates a yeast infection. I figure with the other symptoms he is having, and my persistent issues now requiring a more agressive treatment, that maybe there is something that goes a little deeper here.

The house I just moved out of 4 months ago was old and there was a mold problem that I couldn't seem to get the owner to take care of. I later found out she was in foreclosure and had put the house in bankruptcy so that explains why she avoided fixing anything. I am wondering though, if maybe the problems me and my dog are having are due to something we were exposed to environmentally in that house, because these problems started there. I was living in Vegas and 4 months ago moved to Wenatchee, WA.

Please let me know if there is something I am possibly missing here. I'm starting to have some serious issues with my health and I don't want my dog to be sick on top of this whole thing. I've run out of money and can't afford an expensive Vet bill, I can barely afford my own Dr bills right now :-(

Shelley"

After I stopped eating foods I found out I am allergic to, the yeast problem seemed to subside. Recently it has returned and I have found many of the remedies on this site extremely helpful. If you are not already, you may want to take probiotics with reuteri. You can also get probiotics for your dog.

You are already on the right track by researching alternatives for yourself. As I said, there are many good remedies on this site. Check out each one of them and give them a try. Just be aware that fighting systemic yeast may require a bit of a lifestyle change as far as eating habits and can take several months even a couple of years to fully get rid of it - but it is POSSIBLE.

Good luck! C"

03/18/2011: Elise from Perth, Wa Australia replies: "have you given apple cider vinegar a try? Its something that both you and your dog can take. My dogs have it in their water and never get fleas or bad breath anymore. It also cures just about anything, partly because of its anti bacterial and anti fungal properties, and who knows why else! People on this site refer to it as magic juice! Its curing my Poly Cystic Ovarian syndrome. My acne, weight, depression, body odour... Basically everything I dont like about myself is just disappearing! If you do decide to give it a go, make sure its from your health food store or chemist, and not the supermarket.... The cheap stuff is apparently really processed and doesnt contain much of the good stuff!

good luck! Elise"

RUBBING ALCOHOL

[YEA]  12/20/2008: Roberta from Los Angeles, CA writes: "So I get reoccuring Yeast Infections, when i take Antibiotics, when i'm sick, sometimes around my period. Usually I just sit them out and consume lots of yogurt and take some apple cider vinegar. But the itching and burning just kills me, so i got restless and tried something rash. I was in the shower, and i figured what the hell, so i put a capful of some 80% rubbing alcohol on my "lips" and there was a very strong burning sensation, so i rinsed immediately and just as i had regretted it, i noticed the burning and itching were completely gone. the next day it came back a little, so i diluted a capful of rubbing alcohol in about a cup of water and rinsed thoroughly with it and again there was a slight burning sensation, then i rinsed with water and gone again was the itching and burning. So my final advice, just dilute some rubbing alcohol and rinse with it."

[YEA]  12/09/2006: Maureen from Vancouver, BC, Canada writes: "Years ago I saw a doctor in Australia who told me that the only way to cure yeast infection was to douche twice a day for 10 days with a solution of salt and hot water (as hot as you can stand it), holding the solution in the vagina for 5 minutes, then draining and inserting new hot solution, etc. for a total of 20 minutes. Here's the problem ...I can't remember the proportion of salt to water! I think it might have been 1/4 cup table salt to one quart of hot water (boiled and cooled sufficiently). It works great! Does anyone know what the proportions are? Is it 1/4 cup salt to 1 quart hot water, or is it less salt?"

SUN DRY LAUNDRY

07/02/2011: Dulcinea from La Mancha, Spain writes: "For about three miserable years I had a yeast infection, but one month after moving into a new apartment, the infection was gone. I believe it is because I am now able to dry my laundry outdoors in plenty of sunshine. It seems that even though I always wash undergarments in the hottest water possible, my underwear was reinfecting me with yeast! My mom is a retired nurse and has always said that the sun is an excellent sanitizer. She suggests that ironing one's undergarments with a very hot iron might be another way to kill residual yeast if you don't have a sunny place for drying clothes."

[YEA]  11/22/2008: Alfonzo from Cape Coral, Florida writes: "My wife suffered from severe and recurring yeast infections as a result of her bad diet(favorite foods-breads, pasta and cheese) and becoming overweight as a result. Both of us became very frustrated as a result of the discomfort that it caused her. She tried all of the over the counter medications as well as prescription medicines, but they all failed! I've studied herbal remedies and vitamin fuctions for years as a hobby. Somehow, I concluded that this [vitamin(A)-vitamin(E)] combination would offer the best possibility for success and sure enough it has'nt occurred again. I's been such a long time that I think that it's fair to say that it was a success.
=======================================
[DOSAGE] 2 softgel caps of each vitamin i.e.(8000iu X 2 of A) (400iu X 2 of E) puncture and squeeze into a table spoon then using a liquid dropper or needleless shringe take into the unit so as to insert mixture deep inside the vigina once a day for about 3 days. Then follow-up only at next occurrance using the same method. Infection should disappear and eventually not return again. Good Luck!
Thanks Earth Clinic!!!
Stay healthy and free!!!"

Also I use a product called colon tone by Dr.Eskeland. It is an oxygen based cleaner and one of the great things I noticed it also does is help with yeast infections which I have often, I am guessing the xtra oxygen in the colon kills bacteria. All I know is its great not to have to put up with those yeast infections constantly. I suppose you can find it on the web. Otherwise e-mail me and I can tell you where I get it. Also the glutathione is a very inexpensive supplement."

TEA BAGS

[YEA]  09/06/2009: Leah from Friendswood, Tx, United States writes: "There is one remedy I know of that works for yeast infections and doesnt burn like acv. It is regular tea bags. I dont know it stops the itching and irritation, but I m not sure if it cures it, I did this when I was on antibiotis and it worked. I wanted to take acidophillus, but I didnt know how it would interact with the antibiotics. What you do is:

1) boil some tea bags, black tea or chamomile, or whatever tea bags you have. I used Lipton and chamomile.
2) Get a douche bottle
3) Take the tea after it has cooled down and place it in the douche bottle, then douche.
4) After that, pack the tea bags into the vagina lips, not into the canal (DO NOT WRING THE BAGS OUT)
5) Get a maxi pad and place it in your panties so you dont leak, that would be embarrassing. It discreet enough that no one would know that you have them in there.

When you think the bags are drying out, replace them, of course wash up before doing this and after just in case of contamination. Oh yeah, and get a new douche bottle everytime or boil the one you have, although, I dont know if it can stand the boiling water, and not melt. Good luck, try this, it does work!"

TEA TREE OIL

YEA

07/07/2011: Ferry from Semarang, Central Java writes: "For those who have a yeast infection, one thing that you desire to think about doing is applying tea tree oil like a home cure. Individuals who use tea tree oil know the advantages of it and just how fast it really works. It does not take enough time to complete if you wish to check it out.

Obtain a tampon, and lube jelly. Make certain that you simply place the jelly on top 1 / 2 of the tampon. Once you have place the jelly on top half, put a couple of drops from the oil onto it. You will simply require a couple of drops. Once you have completed individuals steps, just place it within your vagina. It sometimes might sting therefore it is best utilizing a applicator tampon to assist avoid the sting.

Without having lube, you are able to change it with using essential olive oil. You simply perform the same factor you'd do using the lube jelly. Many people opt for essential olive oil rather because they do not desire to use the lube. Each one works every bit as good because the other.

By doing this is not so popular yet and you might like to engage with your doctor first prior to trying the tea tree oil method. It's assisted many people and for certain, it's cured people whether they have had candida albicans.

If you're on other medicines or if you work with other creams, this kind of treatment methods are not for you personally. Don't mix creams together and add the tea tree oil in addition. It may be very harmful. Make use of the oil treatment only alone and never along with other medicines."

[YEA]  06/06/2010: Anaïs from Paris, France writes: "Tea tree oil helps for yeast infections, both as prevention and early-stage cure. For prevention, simply apply a few drops on the bikini area after washing morning and evening. If you notice the first signs of a yeast infection, take a tampon, apply a few drops of olive oil, or almond oil, or best of all St John's wort oil (which has soothing properties) on the tip. This will render it less absorbant. Then add 2-3 drops of Tea tree oil and insert the tampon for the night. You can do this again in the morning. If the infection is caught relatively early, works like a charm! Better than garlic, yoghurt, ACV - at least, in my experience."

[YEA]  10/08/2008: London from Sandusky, Ohio writes: "Tea Tree oil is excellent for yeast infections. For years I suffered with Chronic, re-occurring, will not go away no matter what I do, yeast infections. It was God awful, the most uncomfortable feeling ever. Sometimes Monistat would not always work for me and I would have to buy a tube 3 times a month. This gets expensive. It seemed like every time I had sex I would get one. I would have to abstain for weeks at a time, battling these yeast infections. Men just do not understand. Even if I wore the wrong underwear, or do ANYTHING, I would get one.

I tried everything. I read somewhere that soaking a tampon in tea tree oil and inserting overnight for three nights, would cure it. I don't normally use tampons, so I grabbed an eye dropper and filled it halfway, about 3 or 4 drops of tea tree oil, and put it in there. It burned severely, so, being a fan of Castor oil, I put a large dropperfull of that in there, also, and it lessened it tremendously. You have to combine both, or it will, burn you, and be highly uncomfortable. Do this, for two nights and I promise you will get results. You can get a good sized bottle of excellent quality tea tree oil, that will last you a long time for $10. Also good for any fungal infections on the skin.
Cheers"

The two remedies that have worked the best and almost instantly like OVERNIGHT are Ted's 1/8 Tsp Borax in 1 Liter of water... And another one that I think I may have stumbled on by accident recently...

While the Borax remedy helped me instantly overnight, on the three days that I did not take the Borax, the irritation came back right away...

Well, I recently came across one of Ted's posts for weight loss and he mentioned Vanadium (Vanadyl Sulfate) to help control blood suger... So, I purchased some Vanadyl Sulfate online and began taking 200 mg for 4 days out of a week and 3 days off.

Since I've been doing this my yeast infection seems to be much less noticable now and is going away... I have not been drinking the Borax either... The only other supplement I've been taking is Keto 7 DHEA... So, I'm guessing it must be the Vanadium or Vanadyl Sulfate... I'm not sure why the Vanadium is helping me... But what a neat little discovery!"

VITAMIN E, OREGANO OIL, BORIC ACID

I took diflucan (ha!), soaked in ACV/BS bath, used tea tree oil, and even inserted garlic cloves.... you name it. I've read about the powerful anti-fungal properties of oregano oil and I had some on hand. This was not a diluted brand but a 100% strength oil (so you have to be sure to dilute it well). I saturated a cotton ball with vitamin E oil and put ONE drop of oregano oil on it. I used this to apply the oil to my area, all over. It did feel warm and tingly for about a minute but after that, NO ITCHING. I was shocked. Within 2 days all my symptoms were gone and I have been good since. I should also note I also used boric acid caps vaginally while using the oregano oil to take care of the yeast inside."

YEAST-FREE DIET

YEA

[YEA]  12/16/2009: Barbara from Toronto, On, Canada writes: "Yeast free diet cured me of yeast infections

I used to have recurrent painful, debilitating yeast infections. I would sometimes get a red rash as well. The treatment was a three day dose of Sulpha tablets followed by yeast infections inserts and cream. This worked but began to deplete my energy and immune health after a while. On a whim one day I decided to try giving up yeast. This was five years ago and since that day I have not had a single yeast infection. It is hard to give up yeast. Not only is it in almost all processed foods, it is also hidden. Enriched flour, citric acid, soy sauce, vinegar, natural flavor and and vitamins is how it is added and hidden in most foods. I make all my own foods basically and that is alot of work( fortunately I love to cook) but the pay off is that I am completely free of yeast infections and my immune health is so strong that now if I do occasionally eat yeast containing food I do not get infections and my body will naturally clean itself out within a few days.

A healthy (low or no sugar, salt and bad fats, preferably vegetarian or vegan )yeast free diet is the easiest way to cure yourself of this ailment and it works. I also eat alot of acidic fruit like kiwi, cranberries and eat alot of greens which helps alot as well.

For vegans- watch out for soy products (soy milk, meat, dairy) as they almost always contain yeast. It is added as Vitamin B12 or D and labeled as such or sometimes as "natural flavoring".

Also- nutritional yeast is okay but you need to boil it for 20 minutes to kill any living yeast and use it only occasionally. It is an inactive yeast but can still cause yeast to overgrow in your system. It is common in vegan food as a Vit B12 supplement and flavoring additive."
