WARNING!

[YEA]  03/30/2007: Randi from Altamont, UT writes: "After taking birth control pills for 2 month I ave suffered with Chronic Vaginal Yeast infections for 7 years. I have found that diet is the most important. No sugar, and avoid yeast products, and dairy. I take very high quality essential oil. Don't take low quality because they can really hurt you. I use oregano oil and put about 5-6 drops in a capsule and take it orally. It kills candida. I also put 6 drops of coriander oil in a capsule and take it internally, because it cleanses out the mercury toxin. I put rosemary oil, frankisense oil, and hellicrism oil in a capsule and stick it right up in the vagina. It works amazingly fast. I will also use Boric acid in capsules and insert it vaginally to balance ph levels there. I have tried many many different things for the past 7 years, that have helped but this has worked better than anything else. Adding grapfruit seed extract capsules will really help also."

[YEA]  01/12/2007: Karen from Wakefield, MA writes: "After 3 months of burning inside my vagina, with no other symptoms. Went to my dr. he did all the paps & test. I hav BV put on flagly. I worked for the first treatment. As soon as I went of the burning came back. Back to the dr. gave me a second round of flagly. I didn't finish and the burning came back. A third trip back and all tests were negative. Dr. thinks yeast is to blame. Sent me home with Difulcan ( l day pill) every three days. That did nothing. Now I'm three months and still burning, losing my mind. I start researching home remedies. Boric acid really worked. It didn't work until day four. But I woke up and no burning. Right now day 7 still no burning. I'll you keep posted. I was losing my mind. This is amazing!!"

[YEA]  06/05/2006: Mary from Cambridge, MA writes: "This site saved me a lot of frustration, money, and time. The boric acid in gel caps works wonders for both bacterial vaginosis and yeast infections. I got Boric Acid at a local pharmacy and the gel caps at Ditto's Wholesale online. I may never use another yeast cream or prescription vaginosis remedy again. I am very grateful to you for your suggestions. I also drank the vinegar solution for a time and found that very helpful for the yeast. THANK YOU!!!!"

[YEA]  01/27/2006: April from Steubenville writes: "Make your own boric acid suppositories by filling size 00 gelatin capsules. insert one capsule in the vagina at bedtime for 2 weeks. To prevent a recurrent infection, boric acid can be used twice a week for 6mo. to 1 year. I am 37 yrs old and put up with chronic yeast infections for the past 10 yrs. I tried this treatment after every medication had failed. I have been yeast fee for almost a year! This really works, I told my gynecologist about this treatment and he is now letting this patients in on the cure! You can go to a website WebMD.com to read more about it."

[YEA]  Lorelei from Utah writes: "After suffering for months with recurrent infections (yeast and/or BV) after every single period, I started using "Yeast Away" Boric Acid suppositories (you can order them thru Amazon). They also have calendula and oregon grape root in them. I just use one every night of my period. I haven't had any problems since. The great thing about boric acid is it helps both conditions, so if you're misdiagnosing yourself with a yeast infection, it doesn't really matter. Also, just like recurrent antibiotic use leads to resistant bacteria, recurrent monistat (or whatever brand) use leads to resistant yeast infections."

[YEA]  05/29/2010: Sue from Boston, Ma, Usa writes: "I'm in my twenties and like most women have had my share of yeast infections. I don't like to take medication anymore and a couple months ago I had a bad infection. In the past I have tried numerous methods like the yogurt tampon, ACV and this past time I first tried the garlic clove and that actually made things worse! I then read about how a few people had success with taking coconut oil for yeast infections. I've used coconut oil for various health reasons in the past but never took it consistently. I luckily had some on hand so before bed I immediately ingested 2 tablespoons mixed with OJ( tastes like candy!) The next morning, my yeast infection felt 50% better after just a couple spoonfuls of CO. I continued to take it for a few more nights and it knocked the infection right out. I couldn't believe it. I was so happy!! I would highly recommend ingesting coconut oil if you have a yeast infection. It really works and I've already told several women about this awesome remedy!"

[YEA]  01/02/2010: Miara from New York, Ny writes: "I have found a cure for my yeast infections! I have been reading earth clinic for years, and promised myself that I would never post until I found something that was worthy. I don't get yeast infections often, but when I do, it's horrendous. It quickly gets out of control, even when I abstain from all sugars, grains and anything else that would worsen the problem.

So for the last two days, I was in horrible pain, and I had this crazy idea that seemed like it would work. Take the two most powerful antifungals - Coconut oil and acidophilus, and keep them in your vagina somehow.

Here it is ladies :

1. Take a tampon (I know this sounds excruciating but wait)
2. Soak the tampon in coconut oil. Don't need to go nuts, but just enough to coat the tampon.
3. Take a tablespoon of coconut oil and put it into a cup.
4. Next, get a good probiotic( acidophilus) in capsule form and take three to four capsules, open them up and add them to the coconut oil.
5. Stir together to make a paste. Not too thick though.
6. Then coat the tampon with the paste and insert.
7. Scrape up the rest of the paste and coat the labia and just the very outside of your vagina, to relieve any discomfort.

Sit back, relax, and wait :)

I woke up this morning and my infection was gone! No more pain, AT ALL!!!!

I would suggest doing this for a few nights though, just to be extra sure it's gone.

Hope this helps!"

02/14/2010: Casslynn from Cedar Falls, Iowa replies: "Miara- I am just wondering how many living cultures are in the acidophilus you mixed with the coconut oil. I take a probiotic capsule that contains 50 billion live organisms and was wondering if one or two capsules at that strength might be enough. I suffer from chronic yeast infections, about 3 every 2 months, and just discovered the soothing effects of coconut oil about a month ago! I have also been on the candida diet (no sugars, grains, or dairy) for about 3 weeks now because I just can't handle the constant discomfort anymore. I have an infection right now, and I am trying out your recommendation! Thanks!"

[YEA]  08/10/2009: Laura from Ventnor, Nj writes: "I get yeast infections like crazy- I'm definitely a candida ridden person. My diet isn't terrible, yet I always get them! It may be related to my IUD- I think it gives me bartholin cysts from time to time too. I've tried all of the remedies listed here- the garlic, the yogurt on a tampon, ACV douches, peroxide douches, and everything else. The only, only thing that works for me is this: Coconut oil. I ingest a bunch of it (I eyeball it) approx 2-6 teaspoons. Over the course of about two days it's gone. It's the caprylic acid in the coconut oil. It kills yeast on contact. You can also apply directly to the source and it stops the itching and kills the yeast that way too- but definitely ingest it as the main yeast fighter. I use organic coconut oil, not the virgin one. The regular coconut oil works wonders on me, where the extra virgin coconut oil is only so-so. I put the oil in my coffee to mask the oilyness, and just drink it up. It's easiest that way. You can also put it on toast, or cook your food in it."

[YEA]  08/12/2007: Kate from Newcastle upon Tyne, uk writes: "Virgin coconut oil tampons stopped my vaginal yeast infections. I have found that soaking an organic cotton tampon in Virgin Coconut oil for a few minutes (non bleached, non deodorized, organic etc) and then inserting it over night for a maximum of 8 hours (the maximum time you should leave a tampon in for) brings great relief. It may take persistence and several nights for the problem to be resolved, but it is an easy, painless way to resolve an uncomfortable and sometimes persistent problem. Of course you need to get to the root of the problem itself - candida, poor diet etc - but this seems to work really well for localised infections"

I haven't had any silver for about a week now, and everything is back to normal. I have tried all of the pills and creams that the Dr.s have recommended in the past, to no avail, either they simply didn't work, or caused other problems and STILL didn't work. DON'T DOUCHE

01/15/2008: Cal from Topeka, KS writes: "All throughout this article, women are douching to help rid themselves of yeast infections. This is ridiculous. Flushing water or anything else into the vagina will do nothing but force the bad bacteria further into the uterus, which can lead to worse complications. If you want to help yourself, take a daily probiotic and drink lots of water."

Replies
06/14/2009: Mary from Annapolis, Maryland USA replies: "I agree -- DO NOT DOUCHE! ACV gave me slight, temporary relief from my vaginal yeast. However, the douching flushed out the productive bacteria and set me up for a RAGING vaginal bacterial infection, which required an antibiotic cream. That remedy caused a yeast infection to recur. I am now committed to an anti-yeast diet, probiotics, and anti-fungal herbal regime. I work with an experienced herbal practitioner and am 2 months into my program. I urge all with yeast issues to research systemic candida. It's a growing problem."

Just so happens I had some sittin round the house and decided to give it a shot. Why not?? I took 3x the daily recomendation and went to bed... Woke up this mornin and checked things out.... [YEA]  03/14/2009: Debra from Shawnee, Kansas writes: "When I turned 19 I started developing awful UTI's which of course were followed by yeast infections because of the antibiotics. I was averaging a UTI every other month. After every UTI I had another yeast infection. I'm 31 and this cycle is starting to end. I'll post more about my end to the UTI's on the other page, but as for the yeast. It became absolutely resistant to over the counter creams and diflucan.. I have the same pattern as most, little irritation all month, period then major symptoms. I went to the doctor and had it tested (in the past we just assumed and he would dole me out the diflucan)... test came back negative. I had the fish odor, the itching and the discharge.. did not make a bit of sense to me. So I did what I'd been told to do years and years ago, but rejected because of price.. I switched my laundry detergent to a fragrance free, dye free brand. I switched my dryer sheets to the same.. I feel so stupid now.. I haven't itched since. I guess I didn't believe it since I didn't feel that my clothes were getting clean enough.. FYI.. first try.. had a pair of my sons peed in training pants.. and the entire load smelled.. I almost gave up.. I always wash in cold water.. I (as reluctant as I still am about this) switched it up to HOT.. and no smell.. everything comes out clean.. makes me almost wonder if you really need that much detergant.. hot water helps kill and such... I also (again, not cost effective, but so worth it).. use either ONLY cetaphil to wash that area.. or I bought Neutrogena fragrance and dye free face wash.. gentle.. (not for acne).. and again.. my uti's and yeast problems have disappeared.. My husband accidentally brought home the new charmin with aloe.. I didn't realize it till I took one wipe and it burned.. I started itching.. realized the problem and threw the junk out.. I bucked this for years.. figuring if I had detergant allergy it would show on my skin.. boy was I wrong.."

QUESTION

[YEA]  10/17/2011: Genierose from Cookeville, Tn, Usa writes: "Years ago I used a vaginal garlic treatment for vaginal yeast with excellent results and immediate relief. But now I have bacterial vaginitis and it feel like acid has been applied to my external parts. I went to the doctor and she diagnosed it and prescribed 7 days of metronidazole followed by one Flagyl. It took about 5 days before I got relief. A week after the treatment it was back again and I began searching the internet. I came across this site and so many of you are hurting and looking for relief!

This morning I thought I would try my garlic treatment and see if it would help the BV. Well, I had immediate relief and now it is 6 hours later and I feel great! I will do it again tonight.

Here are the details about how to do this. Crush 1 fairly large clove of garlic and put it in 1 1/2 cups water. Whirl in a blender. Use this solution for a douche. I don't even bother to strain it! I sit on the toilet and do a slow douche. Afterward I don't even pat dry - just put on panties with a panty liner.

This cures vaginal yeast (maybe do it twice a day for 3 days) and I am hopeful that this is the answer for BV also.

The above solution should be the right strength. If you get it too strong it will burn a little for a short time.

You might be concerned that you will smell like garlic. Believe me, you won't smell! I don;t know why. Even my husband can't tell when I have done this.

This is easy and is the absolute CHEAPEST treatment you can try. Try it first before bothering with all the capsules, yogurt, and other stuff.

I pray that this will work for you!"

06/12/2011: Dinah from Bellevue, Wa, Us writes: "So I was skeptical at first. The thought of putting a clove of garlic into my vag kinda freaked me out. But one can only go so long with the kind of intense itching that I was having. I made myself raw scratching, and then of course my labia were stinging and painfully sore! Argh!! Its the worst! Peeing then stings even more, and for sure there will be no sex when a gal feels this way.

I tried a 7 day homeopathic store bought remedy, after 5 days and still no relief, I of course came to my favorite site... Earth Clinic. 1st I tried douching with ACV and water, nothing changed, I was very bummed as I love AVC for so many other things. 2nd I tried H2O2 for a couple of days, had some big chunks of yeast fall out, but I still wasn't feeling better. During all of this, the only thing that gave me a slight reprieve from my flaming lips was slathering on the coconut oil. So finally I decided to try the garlic. I was too scared to pop a clove into my canal so I tried a soft gel garlic capsule. It worked! The next day I wasn't itchy at all! I do have to warn you though, if you do this, the smell is TERRIBLE in the morning, it will permeate your whole house. But I didn't care, my vagina was happy again. The following I night, all fear aside I went for the clove, stung one up, added a few gashes on the outside of the clove, and in it went. Smeared on some CO since I am still healing from all the tissue damage I caused by my relentless labia abuse, and then I slept soundly. Woke up, no garlic smell, no itch... I am free!

Never again will I waste my money on things that dont work... Garlic is the way to go!"

[QUESTION]  08/25/2010: Maria from Cape May, Nj, Usa writes: "On Monday night, I tried the garlic remedy, inserting a freshly peeled clove of garlic vaginally. The next morning, the itching had almost completely subsided. I did notice the tiniest light pink trace of blood when I wiped after peeing last night, but there was no pain and I didn't think much of it (I am expecting my period within the week or so). I repeated the process last night. This morning, I noticed that though the itching hasn't returned, the area is a little tender to the touch when I wipe after peeing I am spotting. There is still very little but more blood. I asked my partner to take a look and he says I look red and "raw". I know that some folks are very sensitive to the garlic's juice and that's why it's advised not to nick or slice the clove while peeling. I've been threading the cloves with a needle to make them easier to remove in the mornings. Could this be the reason I am having this effect? Has anyone else had this reaction?"

The quickest way to cure a yeast infection naturally is to take a clove of garlic ON A STRING (I learned the hard way...) and use it as a vaginal suppository. After 2 days and 2 nights, no itching! If you do not use a string, the clove might have to be taken out by a friend or your partner. I have also tried dicing up 1 small clove of garlic and swallowing the pieces whole (do not chew) with a glass of water. I did this 2-3 times a day for a week and had good results."
