05/08/2012: Kelsie from Pickering, On, Canada: "Hello, I was wondering if anyone has any experience Cold Urticaria. I first developed symptoms about 3 years ago. I would develop and rash and sometimes hives when swimming outdoors. At first thought I was allergic to chlorine, maybe pollen in the water, or a sun allergy (I take several medication for RA, that could cause sun sensitivity). It was only this past summer that I determined it was the cold. One day my parents left their pool heater on all night, the temp. Of the pool was almost 90 degrees. I went swimming and only developed a very slight rash after 45 minutes of being in the pool.
I searched for cold allergies online, and found that it was a condition. A simple test is to rub and icecube on your arm, if a rash or hives develop within 30 seconds to a couple of minutes, then you have your answer. I did this and sure enough, the rash was there.
I later discovered my Father had a similiar problem, in his early thirties, after a couples of years it went away.
This past winter (I live in Canada), I started to developing the rash just from being outdoors and now even whent the weather is 10 degrees, or cool and windy I develop this rash. My skin turns bright red, sometimes a solid rash and sometimes blotchy, and it burns. I have seen hives only a couple of times.
I do have lots of environmental and animal allergies, as well as asthma, some food sensitivites (wheat and dairy), and RA (rheumatoid arthritis). Clearly my immune system is struggling in general.
Any advice or experience with Cold Urticaria (or any of my immune related issues) would be greatly appeciated.

05/08/2012: Jon from Othello, Wa, Usa replies: "Urticaria is an allergic reaction (histamine release). The symptoms can be treated with quercetin, 500mg two or three times a day. Quercetin stabilizes what are known as mast cells which are cells that release histamine, effectively blocking any flare-ups.
To boost your immune system there are several things you can take with the big three being selenium, vitamin D3, and zinc. Herbwise, you can take mushrooms (most any mushroom will do, they're also rich in selenium and vitamin D2) along with astragalus (rich in zinc). Generally with people that have allergies, that are non-food related, have a hyper response with the B cells of the immune system going crazy, while the T cell part is suppressed. Mushrooms will normalize the immune system due to the oligosaccharide/Beta glucan components while astragalus will actually boost the T cells by directly stimulating the interleukins.
Keep in mind it usually takes awhile for herbal medicines to work, and they don't always work for everyone depending on the deficiencies present."

Take 3 times daily... Faithfully, 15m bfore meals
1 heaped tspn & a 1/4 tspn ginger powder, & a small pinch of cayenne pepper. in a little warm water till it dissolves. Add to 1/2 cup 'almond milk'... Receipie below.. ) & drink 15mins before meals. Due to the almond milk, it is quite pleasant with a slight spicy bite.. It will reduce pain & inflammation... Whereever it is in your body quite quickly.. As well as improve your liver function & your digestion & stop cancer cells in their tracks... Really.. google it.
FLAX SEEDS GROUND FRESH INTO A POWDER: U can grind them in a coffee grinder in a matter of moments.. Its ideal to make fresh daily.. However, if you're pressed for time... Make a weeks worth & store in the refrigerator.. Otherwise it will oxidise due to the oils.. Add 3tblspns a day to your foods. Sprinkle on your oatmeal at breakfast time, or on your green salad at lunch, or into your soup just as you serve it at dinner time. There appears to be a significant connection between hives and uticaria in particular and that thyroid auto-immune antibodies are usually detected in higher than normal amounts and are always involved in patients with uticaria. Notably, it is also true to point out that the thyroid gland also helps to control the hot/cold response of the skin in humans. In these instances, excessive production of histamines in the skin is also inevitably involved. Here is the research evidence that makes the connection:
So it might be well worth you having a thyroid antibodies test to see if this is true in your own case. You can ask your doctor about this.
If the thyroid anti-bodies test comes out positive, then Lugol's iodine supplementation with companion nutrients may well help your condition. The important and essential companion nutrients in particular are there to address and improve the thyroid by helping to resolve iodine malabsorbtion issues, low immune system and will also help to increase your body's antioxidant levels thus preventing free-radical damage within cells from the inevitable destructive antibody response -- and in the case of uticaria problems, taking oral lugol's iodine protocol would help to reduce the destructive effects of these anti-bodies on skin cells as well as thyroid cellls. Perhaps there are some out there who might -- quite rightly --be wondering why, since there is research evidence out there, does the medical and drugs fraternity not further pursue this obvious connection between destructive thyroid anti-bodies and uticaria? Or why, in another research instance, has Linus Pauling's discovery that orally ingesting larger dose Lysine and Vitamin C can easily cure heart disease and arteriosclerosis in a month but which has never been verified by the medical drugs standards committees, journals and peer reviewed research?
The reason for this is fairly obvious though when you think about it. The biggest possible enemy for the large drugs companies are indeed the successful and much cheaper alternative and unpatentable remedies for serious auto-immune diseases. In terms of fancy and important sounding medical jargon, "idiopathic" simply means "we haven't got a clue about what causes this disease" and "auto-immune" essentially means ""nope, we cannot consistently cure this disease". For these "idiopathic auto-immune diseases" the medical response, despite the fact that they even admit that they haven't got a clue about the disease and cannot consistently cure it every time, will be to nonetheless recommend glorified anti-inflammatories and pain-killers with some other synthetic drug which will cause significant side-effects for the rest of your life. That's an awful lot of pills and a great profit stream for a non-curative drug isn't it?
The main reason why important alternative research is hindered like this is also fairly obvious. Drugs companies not only have heavy influence within the government and medical law but they also control all medical standards and peer reviewed research because it is so expensive. So if they don't like a certain alternative but apparently successful remedy(that interfere's with one of their "iodipathic" or "auto-immune" drugs) that should be researched, then the peer research will be blocked and just will not happen -- and hence the profits from their drugs sales will be safely preserved for at least the life of the synthetic drug's patent. I would really love to be able to prove outright and once and for all that, say, lugol's iodine could cure thyroid problems, but, unfortunately, the loose change in my pocket is sadly inadequate -- so I'm afraid I cannot afford the $100 -- $200 million it would now cost just to prove one single drug's or alternative remedy's efficacy and safety against one single disease to the FDA's double-blind placebo and peer reviewed standards. And even if financial backers could be found, the drugs companies would still find a way of destroying either the inventors reputation or his or her remedy. Medical history is strewn with the now dead successful remedies of people like Royal Rife, Naessons, William Kelly, Tullio Simoncini, Virginia Livingston etc and all they had to suffer when they were only trying to cure -- yes, to actually dare to attempt outright cures for various and dangerous auto-immune diseases.
In a recent and fairy shocking Yale med article I read, certain medical standards committees seem to have stopped calling people who visit doctors as patients.
Instead, these medical standards committees are now referring to patients as "consumers".

I kept my freshman home today, as she woke with a severe sore throat. I had her do ACV/honey/cayenne tea and cayenne gargling all day. It seemed to help, but I'd like to help them avoid getting sick.
They are both athletes and go to public school. Until the end of October they are both putting in 12 hour days at school between all of their activities, so I think they are getting worn down and so are all their peers! 11/08/2011: Sabita from Orlando, Florida, Usa replies: "As soon as my daughter sneezes I have her gargle three times with warm salty water, a touch of baking soda and 4 drops of hydrogen peroxide (no swallowing). Then I will give her thin garlic slices, 3 x a day which she chews to get the juice. Lastly, I boil an inch and a half of ginger root, sliced thinly in about 4 cups of water. When that has simmered for about 10 mins, covered, I put in a chamomile teabag and let that steep. She drinks this all day. If she is really bad, I add lemon juice and honey to taste. I have also made a natural antibiotic - soak a crushed garlic clove in 1/4 to 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar. Steep in a glass container in a dark cupboard for about two to three days. Longer better. Give 1/4 teaspoon every 4 hours. Yucky but works. This is all approximate - use your intuition."

I think you can get a vitamin supplement for kids which would be advised these days. I havent had a cold since ive been taking the supplements, and every time the neice visited we'd end up with one after she left. Instead of a full blown cold you end up with a something that lasts a day, instead of a week of the sniffles."

Suddenly he no longer got everything going around. And when he did catch something, it cycled in and out quickly. The older he gets, the stronger he gets.
It just seems to me this is the immune system's way of building resistance to disease... Strange as it seems.
I tried everything... Probiotics, Emergency, various immune defense supplements, etc. One thing I will say was the most effective, was a strong goldenseal/echinacia tincture given at the outset of a flu or cold. If you know of a good homeopath, get your hands on a few bottles to carry you through the season. Also, my son found hot garlic/lemon/ginger/cayenne/honey to be particularly soothing and, if administered early enough, often quite effective at knocking out his ailment. And lastly, while difficult, keep junk food and sugar minimized. Find substitutes for the crap and avoid sleepovers, without, of course, depriving your young one of a happy childhood."

Im on the third day of taking Fractionated DNA, I bought some Baking yeast, and got some straws and a bottle the same length as the straws. I put about six teaspoons of raw sugar in the bottle and filled it up with hot water.. When it cooled I added a pinch of yeast. Then put the cap back on the bottle.. After 24 hours the sediment was building up at the bottom of the bottle.. So when the bottle was opened it gave a litle fiz which confirms its working. Now morning and evening I put the straw in, right to the bottom and suck up a mouthfull. Voila! Fractionated DNA... When the bottle goes down add a couple of spoons of sugar and top up with water. It actually tastes very pleasant. Ten days ill report back, to see if this was the ingredient that fixed the eyes last time. At least I wont be getting Hyperglycemic this time around."

All the used up yeast cells drop to the bottom of the fermentation container, they are cracked yeast cells and they have the fractionated DNA. By inserting a straw to the bottom and taking a suck, then swallow you ingest just them, without having to drink the sugar laden ginger beer. As the container goes down all you have to do is add a bit of sugar and water , and the fermentation will go on continuously. Hence a permanent supply of cracked DNA."

1. Astragalus, is an herb used in many chinese formulas, is an antiviral and antibacterial, stimulates the immune system... good for upper respiratory infections.
2. A mushroom formula (beta glucan) such as New Chapters Immunity or Host Defense MyCommunity.. both quality companies!
3. A third product called Epicor (a yeast extract) has many positive testimonials on iherb.com... I've tried it for a while and I haven't been sick once since on it but can't be sure it was this or other immune stimulants. There isn't much science on this one other than many anecdotal reports..
4. Another beta glucan product from Japan has wide use in hospitals to help boost the immune system of cancer patients is AHCC (expensive).. Still a bit early to state that its not just a placebo effect. But this morning I forgot to put my glasses on, and was operating ok untill I realised. Its a bit chilly and the continuous fermentation in the bottle is slow, but it fizzes everytime I take the cap off to take a mouth full, so its definiatly working (fermenting). They charge the ginger beer with a little sugar just before capping to give it a fizz. So the residual fractionated DNA would be a small amount anyway. I wouldnt mind some backup on this. So if anyone else wants to check the effect feel free. To the best of my memory it was ten days to clear up the vision issues.. Then ten days for the eyes to return to their previous state, After the ginger beer was stopped.. (thats if this is the missing link)."

I've not been a reader of this site for a very long time. However my wife looked up your site for curing boils naturally about 6 months back, and by following the turmeric treatment and avoidance of sugar, white flour and yeast, we had managed to cure this problem which I suffered in PAIN for more than 6 years without any cure. Till sometime back I could eat whatever I want in moderation and not have any problem. However circumstances have now changed. I have had to move alone to a new city for a few months without her and her support, and being forced to eat outside have fallen back into the trap of the foods to avoid and have got myself into the worst problem boils-wise than ever before. I am slowly healing and right now on a strict diet to avoid all of these foods. My question below is more from a long term perspective. My history has been that up to the age of 9 years, I used to get colds every month for which 5 injections of penicillin were the cure, had a near TB infection and was given anti-rabies injections for a dog bite. After that I moved to a new country, where I don't remember getting a cold for the next 15 years or so, but I used to regularly get other health problems. And after the age of 23 or so, I used to get boils on and off all over my body. No cure except pop more pills. About 6 years back this problem got totally out of hand when there was a long line of boils just waiting for the other to go. All of them used to come in the genital area and were very painful, sometimes requiring near surgery to burst the monsters and drain the pus, etc. My food habits were also very bad, where I used to finish boxes of chocolate and ice cream in a single go. And the usage of white flour as much as possible.
As possible treatments I tried homeopathic medicine as well as Unani medicine, and both these seemed to work upto my using it. The moment I stopped, the problem would start in the next 15 days or so. Finally my dear wife had enough of this as sometimes she also used to get infected. She found your wonderful site and got me onto the cures. The first time I was cured in 2 weeks, I immediately stopped taking the turmeric and rejoiced by eating all the forbidden food. And got into the same problem again. The next time I did the treatment for 2 months or so, and was finally cured completely. I could now eat whatever I wanted in moderation and this problem never came back, except maybe for some small pimple type boils which didn't even last very long. Now this problem has started again. I can definitely get cured in the short term like before this. However, I know that this problem is due to my weakened immune system. My body can naturally fight off all this crap. And it isn't because of all the abuse it has gone through over the years. The candida infection or whatever it is, is definitely still waiting in my system, waiting to infect me again.
Isn't there a natural way to reset the immune system, by taking certain supplements or following a strict diet for a certain amount of time that will get the immune system back into its natural state? Can anybody please shed light on this?

I have written on here for a couple of years now which is when I started trying lots of the remedies that are on this site of which I saw changes for the better for from all of them for periods at a time. Then, I wouldn't see much progress. Before I start though, I want to say that it has been a long journey since my immune system began to break down and my pain was so intense. I tried Chinese medicine, acupuncture, massage therapy, energy healing, chiropractic, and all helped somewhat but I really didn't see a true breakthrough. Then I found this site.
I did the apple cider vinegar as one of the first remedies and considered myself a pretty clean eater meaning eating whole, natural foods close to the original source. Ha! I went into a major detox that night and my husband had to take care of me. It was he that correlated it to the capful of Apple Cider Vinegar I took and rather cavalier-like at that!
I did Apple Cider Vinegar/ baking soda and saw some relief to the pain I experienced on an ongoing continual basis but not that much. Then, it was oil-pulling which was very interesting because I saw positive changes from that as well with pain lessened but then it seemed to just level off.

In the process, I wanted to learn more about it but couldn't find much on it but that led me to green juicing which then led me to the raw food world. At first I thought, "these people are crazy! Within 2-4 days all my pain was gone! GONE! And I was ecstatic determined to commit to this diet for an extended period of time. The pain never returned and both my husband and I dropped 10 lbs or more immediately. That all started last Oct. And by Christmas, because of the holidays I cautiously tried a bit of meat w/ no reaction. One night a relative made a dish that I love and had to eat it. It was a spinach cheese pie and w/in 10 min the pain was raging through my body! I had pulled off all the dough so that wasn't it and removed all the pieces of feta so I thought there was no other dairy but my husband said, "Did you see all the cream she dumped into the recipe?" Aha! There was the source- dairy.
Slowly, we added simple cooked foods back into our diet- mostly soups like lentil, black bean, pea, etc. Nothing that would overload our digestive system. I honestly believe I have reset my immune system and like you, as a child was very sickly and given many medications, antibiotics, immunizations, etc. Now, we eat a very diverse diet again and I feel clearer, no more rashes or hive outbreaks, no more urinary tract infections, or tooth infections, no more acid reflux or canker sores- all of which were becoming more and more frequent.
So, if you are serious about resetting your immune system, I am absolutely certain that it can be done. BUT, you must be willing to make these changes, committed to seeing it through. I have remained dairy-free and pasta-free but drink kefir on a daily basis which has made me feel even stronger with all its probiotics to strengthen my gut. I also now eat a special bread made with probiotics not yeast. I take zeolite every few days to remove heavy metals and detox and once a week or so I drink apple cider vinegar and baking soda. Actually, I buy my bread here at the Farmer's Market in LA where there is a man who has his own small bakery and specializes in this kind of bread. You can find this kind of bread in some health food stores as well. One brand is called Grindstone Bakery. You can google that and learn about their process. Personally, I found it too sour for my liking. So far the best tasting of this bread is from Jack Bezian's Bakery in my opinion. Still, you can make your own from homemade kefir and then let it ferment making a real sourdough bread. Jack Bezian says the secret is in the fermentation time. He says he can let his breads ferment anywhere from 24 hours to a month! Another method of making "bread" is done by the raw food world in which you use a dehydrator. It's thin, dense and chewy and I happen to love it but not everyone does. Toasted, it is crisp, nutty, and chewy. I have begun to like its flavour a lot. If you don't have time to make your own bread, this one is a nutritious substitute. That's what I have for breakfast, along with a glass of goat milk kefir.
I had no luck making kefir at home with regular, store bought organic milk. I bought the grains from Amazon and was very hopeful of cooking up regular batches. But the milk just turned thick and sour. Was it because it wasn't raw milk? I read the excellent site that Lisa from Thousand Oaks recommended for kefir and it said to use raw milk. Could that be the reason why the milk didn' t turn into kefir? Can kefir only be made from raw milk? Or was it due to the fact that milk was cold? Does the milk also have to be room temperature or can it be made from milk straight from the fridge? If any EC posters could answer these questions, I would be so grateful! Thanks."

There shouldn't be a problem at all w/ making milk kefir w/ whatever milk you choose. At least that's what I've learned in all my research. I choose to use raw milk because I think it's the healthiest choice but also, it is available readily here in California which is not the case in most states. I have also used both whole and skim milk successfully. On kefir making group sites, I've read of people using all sorts of various milks successfully. Also using all sorts of various sugars.
Now, my question to you is what do you mean by it just turned thick and sour? That's pretty much a good description of kefir! Also, I always use my milk right out of the fridge and there's no problem. I leave it sitting on the counter from morning to morning so that's about 24 hours before it becomes kefir. Then I strain it to retrieve the grains. Another question I have for you is, do you use any kind of sugar? I have used raw cane and also blackstrap molasses successfully since I don't use sugar generally in anything. The grains are really happy w/ the Blackstrap Molasses as they are really growing and are fat and plump! I have even given some away because I had so much after about 2 1/2 months. When I tried to make kefir, I followed the instructions the seller had sent along with the grains, which said to pour milk into a clean, dry container in which the grains had been deposited. I kept the glass jar on the counter. It said to wait 12 to 24 hours. At the end of 12 hours there was no change but 24 hours later, the milk had become a thick slab with a watery mixture at the bottom. It didn't look or smell right. When I tasted a tiny bit, it was sour, really nasty. So I threw it away and tried again. Same result. I had no idea about putting sugar in it. The grains I bought are now over. I shall buy some more from the site you suggested and try again. In the meanwhile, there is always store bought goat milk kefir. Thanks again for your advice."

Especially, if they were dried which is how mine came. It even said to not be surprised if it took up to two weeks for them to "take". Happily for me, it only took 3 days before I had kefir. What do you mean the grains are done? Once you get them, they should be good for life. I do hope you attain more and give it another go. Also, it is not unusual at all w/ homemade kefir for the curds and whey to separate. I just close the jar and give it a whirl to mix it all back together. In regards to the sugar, the grains eat it and that's what make them grow so quickly. Hopefully, this info helps. Lisa"

I have a friend who is a hulk of a man at 62 who does hard physical labor and works out at a gym almost daily. I year ago his health started failing and he gave up his bush hogging and ended up desperate. He has gone to 13 doctors and finally found a doctor in Chattanooga who said his problem was H Pylori and Systemic Candida. This doctor also told him that he sees about 3 people a year who have this condition but none a bad and his.
Last week we visited and I reviewed his $10,000 lab work. AYSM? Yep, he is consumed with H Pylori and Candida and his immune system is flat lined, zero. The doctor had him on an Anti-boitic but no Probiotic. AYSM?
I loaned him my parasite Zapper and gave him a 20 Billion Proboitic along with ACV and a Pysillium fiber shake to take daily to remove any die off. Left him with GSE, Borax, organic coffee for enema's and things for mineral baths. Told him to do only one natural anti-fungal at a time. Also explained to him that he had to go slow and only kill off pathogens as he could remove them with the fiber shake. He agreed that the he needs to cease the Anti-biotic, which had killed his good gut flora and his immune system.
It appears he is far worse off than I thought. 4 days later he came down with Herxhimer's reaction and is now sick as a dog. I talked to him today and told him to shut down all my stuff except the probiotics. Now I am convinced that I cannot help him in his state and he must see my integrative doctor if he is to survive.
What I have learned in this health ministry is that you can take a mule to water, but you can't make him drink. That's his decision. Regular folks also don't do reading too good. You best present your case with a video off the internet. That is what I have done. I sent my friend video's I.V. 's concerning Hydrogen Peroxide, Vitamin C and Ultra Violet Blood Irridation. My Doctor does all of these and my friend now must make a decision. I have now involved his sister.
My friend's Doctor did tell him that if he did not get his problem under control then his life would be cut in half. This doctor passed charm school and as most of you know I flunked all that my bosses sent me to. My friend knows I'm not PC so I told him that he did not get his problem under control, then he will soon die. After a year of hell, he agreed.
We got one other Expert involved with this problem. We are all praying.

Not going to drag this out, but want to make a point. When I read Hulda Clark's book some 10 years ago in which she stated that the root cause of all disease is parasites. She also said that if you have an indoor pet then you have the same parasites that the pet has.
My wife had indoor cats for 44 years of our marriage. What Dr Clark said made sense to me so when her cat died two years later, she said she wanted another cat. My reply was certainly, but for the last 46 years we have had indoor cats, and for the next 46 years we will have out door cats. That was 8 years ago and now she would have it no other way. They get fed twice a day with a measured meal. They love her far more that the indoor cats who had food on a constant basis. I hope we don't have their parasites, but we do have Candida as everyone has.
The two hot topics that is now on EC is Candida overload and Alzheimer's. They should be. What we have learned in our exchanges is that you can treat both for pennies. You just have to get the smarts and we are all helping one another in this endeavor. For my money, I think Candida is the biggie, you keep that in balance and you will have good health. We have all learned that there is no silver bullet. It's a disciplined thing. Candida is a parasite. I also think that Hulda Clark was a great woman and was far ahead of her time.

I'm guilty of doing this too. Curative recipes tend to be 1 or 2 tablespoons of acv. Maintenace recipes seem to be 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon depending on the ailment. Garlic will be as much as you can stomach without gagging. Remember that most of these recipes are non toxic so it would be hard to overdose. Again honey tends to be 1 to two teaspoons or to suit your taste and almost all the drinks remedies call for 8 oz water.At a guess this recipe calls for 1 or two tablespoons of acv, 1 clove of garlic, 1 teaspoon honey and 8 oz warm water. The clove of garlic would depend on size and strenght of odour and taste. More or less to suit. The honey could be increased for sweetness if you wanted to give it to a child.
This next bit answers another post from you too where you ask about giving these remedies to a child. My daughter is 4 and less than 3 stone in weight. I base this on Teds advice to use body weight as the divider. When giving her anything that I am taking myself I divide it by 1/3. In a drink recipe as above I would make as for an adult (water included) then tip 1/3 into a glass and fill again with more water. And give her as much as she will take. For vitamins, I try to buy in capsule form - open the capsule and tip up to 1/3 into her breakfast food or drink. this goes unnoticed by her. If it is a cooked breakfast I wait till it has cooled so as not to damage the actual vitamin through heat.I have put it on sandwiches when I forget to do it in the morning making sure it is well spread out. So as not to wastes the balance of the vitamin put the rest of the capsule/s on a spoon then lower into a heavy cup that won't be knocked over. Leave the capsule on the spoon in the cup for easy retrieval next day. And out of the way from little fingers. I'll post this to the other thread as welll to make sure you see it."
