[NAY]  04/26/2011: Kane from Sarajevo, Sarajevo Canton, Bosnia And Herzegovina writes: "I tried this for quite some time, with only very marginal results. Then I switched to pharmaceutical salicylic acid, and the wart was gone within a couple of weeks. Note, however, that I'm not so much knocking this method as I am making people aware of another method. Warts are weird, and the success of various treatments seem to wildly differ between different people."

12/20/2010: Dawn from Highland, Ca, Us writes: "I read with great interest the thread about bananas and warts. I have a good sized one on my index finger. I believe I picked it up from my son, 12, who has a dime sized wart on his thumb. (I have been trying to tweeze out the seeds, with no success. ) His wart has been an annoyance for a couple years now. We have tried all the over-the-counter store remedies, with no good results. We purchased a green organic banana, after the "normal" ones didn't seem to be effective. I am putting pieces of peel on each wart to cover with a little overlap onto healthy tissue. I then cover the chunk with skin colored first-aid tape. The stretchy kind in a roll is good, as it goes over the top of the piece of peel and makes a good seal and isn't unsightly. The normal peel made the wart feel a little tingly. The organic one is supercharged powerfully tingly, borderline on pain. (More about the sensation for my wart in a moment... )

It has been 3 days. My son's wart is softer and much less raised in appearance. He takes the tape and peel off in the afternoon because he just doesn't care for the treatment. We are on a break from school, so it is my hope to finish this before he returns to classes. I would prefer to not make him feel embarrassed by wearing banana peel tape to school!

Regarding my wart: I feel this is important to share, as it hasn't been mentioned that I can find. Yesterday evening I used nail clippers to trim away as much skin on top of the wart as I could without causing bleeding. I then put my new peel piece on and went to bed. IT BURNED LIKE NUTS!!!!!! Holy cow! I do not suggest you hasten the process of healing by removing the excess skin! Woo boy! NOTHING you can buy to burn warts hurts like this crazy banana peel on fresh, non-calloused warty areas! I took the peel off this morning and my wart is inflamed and stings. It is very sensitive to the touch. I let it rest for a few hours and just reapplied another peel piece. More stinging: enough to inspire me to post this. I am downright stunned that something so innocent as a banana peel could be so potent in this way. I don't know if our wart issues will be resolved completely, but I will say it "feels" like it is working. I like that I am not subjecting my body to more chemicals. And oh man, do I wish I hadn't trimmed that skin off last night."

If you have a mind that believes that banana peels works for your warts then banana peels works for your warts! That is wonderful! I have a mind for Castor oil; it take Castor oil and mix it with baking soda to make a gum like paste (chewing gum) and put that on mine when I get them, my boyfriend when he had 8 planters on his foot, and my child when he had some on his fingers. That worked for me! I believe our mind has everything to do with getting healthy. What works for some, might not work for others!"

[YEA]  11/30/2010: Daisy from Jacksonville, Florida writes: "I have been meaning to get back here for a couple months now and share how it went, but that's how completely banana peels cured my plantar wart: I forgot all about it! Let me start at the beginning. Over 20 years ago, when I was in my mid-teens, I had the plantar wart from hell on the instep of my right foot. I had it for months and it felt like glass embedded in there, growing not so wide (no more than the size of a quarter, at most) but very *deeply* into my foot; my conservative estimate was definitely over a half-inch, going by what I could feel around it and how much I eventually had to cut off it.

I went to a doctor who -- God bless him -- said he could cut them out, but that if I'd just wait it'd come out on its own. Waiting sounded just fine to my mother because it was free, so I waited and waited and waited... And finally in desperation took to slicing a hair off the top of it every night with a very sharp razor and rubbing alcohol. Mostly it didn't hurt but OMG when I went too deep!!! Anyway, a few weeks of that, and then one night I went to take my slice off the top and the razor pulled the stump of it out, leaving a crater in my foot that was nicely covered with skin, just misshapen from where the wart had been. I was SOOOOO grateful it was gone!!!! From beginning to end, I think I suffered with it for around nine months or so, possibly longer.

Fast forward to September of this year, when after showering I noticed a hard, darkening spot on the instep of my right foot, exactly where the plantar wart had been so many years ago. With a sinking heart -- because I remember well just exactly how bad that thing hurt!!! -- I realized it was coming back, and decided to get some Compound W at the store, but when I looked for it they were out.

I came back home and it occurred to me to look on this site, and that is the first time I ever heard about banana peels to cure warts, not to mention how blessed I'd been to NOT have the first wart cut out! So at the first opportunity I was back at the store to get the greenest ripe bananas I could find, having eaten the last banana in the house the day before reading your site. I got a bunch, brought them home, peeled and ate the greenest, and then cut up the peel into pieces sized just bigger than the new wart and put them in the freezer. That night, I took a big square of duct tape, stuck the piece of peel to the duct tape so that the inner part of the peel would face my foot, and stuck the duct tape to my foot. Waking up, I took it all off. Lather, rinse, repeat. I did this for a few days and saw nothing except that now I had the characteristic black dots where I'd had none before, and while it was not growing bigger I couldn't see any change. I was very close to giving up on it as a complete waste of time and effort, but then I remembered all the posts that said, "Don't give up, it'll happen but you have to wait for it, " so I decided to stick with it even though it seemed foolish to me by then. Oh, how glad I am that I did! Just a few days later, after taking off the duct tape, I started scraping at it with my fingernail, and just like that razor some 20-odd years before, the whole thing lifted out of my foot, leaving a crater and a bunch of dead skin. Not knowing whether I'd gotten it all or not, I decided to keep up the banana peel for a few more days, but when I couldn't scrape anymore out of there I let it go.

In a few weeks, also gone were the layers of nasty callus that had formed around the wart but had been left behind when it came out. I just pumiced the last of that off a couple of weeks ago. No new warts, no pain, no nothing. WOW!!! How often are you faced with a looming disaster and end up getting a non-event? :)

So yeah... It really does work! I am so grateful. Thank you for sharing your experiences so freely and in such detail, because that really made the difference and kept me on track. And many many thanks to Earth Clinic for maintaining this rockin' site! Thanks!!!"

[YEA]  11/23/2010: Sandra from Burbank, Ca writes: "My daughter has had a wart on her finger since she was 4.5 years old. We went to the Dermatologist and he froze it off. It came back triple the size. She was very embarrassed and was hiding her hand all the time. Was scared to go back to have it frozen off again. It hurt.

We read about the banana peels and we tried it. First we started off with duck tape and banana peel. After about 4 times we realized it was turning darker and darker. Finally we soaked it in vinegar and intermittently I was applying callous remover on it. I filed it off every morning a little and applied callous remover in the morning (main ingredient is glycerin) and at night duck tape and green banana. After 10 days it fell off..... So now we are just putting on green banana at nights to make sure it's all gone. We learned that the trick is THE GREENER THE BANANA THE BETTER. I found really green ones. GOOD LUCK."

[YEA]  06/14/2008: Donna from Montreal, Canada writes: "I was looking for a natural cure for warts as I recently had one on my middle finger and decided to try the banana peel & duct tape. I cut out a piece of banana peel that covered the wart and taped it there with duct tape. The next day I removed it and got another piece of banana peel and applied the duct tape again. On the third day I was teaching so I just applied the duct tape for the next few days and then it was practically gone. It didn't turn black, but the wart/skin started to slough off. Now there's a slightly pink area and no wart."

[YEA]  Wendy from Spokane, Wa writes: "My daughter had flat warts on her face for more than 4 years. She also had several seed warts on her hands, wrists, knees, and feet. I originally found this site while trying to find something to help her. After visits to her pediatrician and pediatric dermatologist we were frustrated. They just kept saying that the virus needed to run its course. She was starting junior high and these warts only exasperated her anxiety. The banana peel worked on her face in just 3 days! Imagine how ecstatic we were! Nothing seemed to work on her hands and feet though. Finally we found a cure that also worked in 3 days. A co-worker, who's father was a physician, said to soak her hands in very hot water with a couple capfuls of Lysol. After years of suffering, my daughter has been wart free for over a year."

[YEA]  03/11/2011: Chuck from Milwaukee, Wi writes: "Hi. Great website. I read the banana peel cure for plantar warts and it really does work. It helped my plantar warts on my foot that I have had for 4 years but.... Liquid Bandage worked better. The reason these warts are dying is because they are being smothered by the duct tape. They need Oxygen. What I did was rub the banana peel on the area, wash it off, dried it and applied 2 coats of New Skin (liquid bandage). A huge wart and 5 smaller ones were gone in 4 days. I cut away all the dead skin with a razor blade every morning, applied 2 coats and that was it. The roots turned black and fell off. Then I applied the liquid bandage to the holes left by the root and they filled in super fast. The liquid bandage is also an anti-septic. Thanks."

BLACK WALNUT

[YEA]  03/24/2009: Launa from Belgrade, Montana writes: "My husband had warts on the bottom of one foot from before we were married. After about 16 years of marriage I had gone into one of the local grocery stores and spoke with the lady who supplied herbs to the store. She suggested that my husband should try using black walnut (also known as English walnut) suppliments for his warts so I purchased a bottle and he followed the directions on the label. The capsules were 500 miligrams each and the directions said to take two capsules with a meal twice daily (1000mg with breakfast and 1000mg with supper). At the time he had started taking the black walnut he had so many warts on the bottom of that one foot that one half of the bottom was completely covered with them. He took the black walnut for a few weeks and in less than a month all the warts were gone. He has not had a single wart since and it has been over 8 years now. We have had 4 other family members who have taken black walnut for their warts and all four of them have had the same success, all of them dissappeared and none have returned. There was no need to remove anything, the warts shrunk, leaving no trace that they were ever there. I was hesitant at first to give black walnut to my six-year-old because I didn't know much about it. I did a little research and found nothing that indicated that it would be bad for him. I looked in an herb book written by an ND (naturpathic doctor) to figure out how much to give him. In the book the ND gave a general guideline for herb dosages as follows: Preschool children take 1/4 of an adult dose, children ages 5 through 10 take 1/2 of an adult dose, early teens take 3/4 of an adult dose, and then when they reach the size of an adult (usually between ages 16 to 21) then they take the full adult dose. I decided to go with the 1/4 dose for my 6-year-old though because he was small for his age. He had 3 or 4 warts on his one hand, with the largest being in the center of the palm. I was amased that in 2 to 3 days his warts shrunk significantly and were completely gone within 1 or 2 weeks. It has been 5 years and like the other family members, he has not had another wart."

[YEA]  07/29/2009: Betty R. from Hurricane, UT writes: "I had planters warts that covered my entire heel. The surgeon said he would have to remove my entire heel down to the bone in order to remove the painful planters warts. I then went to an old family practice DR. He suggested that I soak my heel in straight chlorine bleach. I soaked my heel in the bleach 3 times a day for about 10 minutes each time. Within about 3 weeks the warts were gone!"

EC: Some doctors might question the wisdom of soaking any part of the body in bleach, but soaking the toes in a dilution of bleach and water is a widely recommended remedy for nail fungus.

[YEA]  03/15/2007: Ryan from San Francisco, CA writes: "First off, I've got to tell you that I tried a certain brand of all natural remedy from a website and all it did was burn my skin and cause major irritation, discomfort and bleeding. I also tried the banana peel wrap, the Castor oil & baking soda paste as well as applying household bleach with a cotton swab. The best thing that worked for me was to first vigourously apply bleach with a cotton swab to all warts and then let the bleach dry for a couple of minutes. Once dry, vigourously apply raw apple cidar vinegar with a cotton swab until you have removed all of the superficial/dead skin tissue and you can only see the warts in their plain shape. Repeat this three times daily. They'll be completely gone within about 10 days."

BLOODROOT

[YEA]  08/24/2007: Jeff from Wichita, Kansas writes: "This is regarding Bloodroot. I have made and have used a blood root past also know as black salve. A doctor that I have worked with now uses this almost exclusively to treat warts. I have never seen it not work. Here is the recipe:

1/2 cup powdered Blood Root (Sanguinaria Canadensis)
1/2 cup Zinc Chloride, crystals or liquid
1/2 cup common white flour
1 1/2 cup warm water
100ml Chaparral extract or 100gm of powdered Chaparral (Larrea mexicana)

Pre-mix all but the water, thoroughly, before adding to the water. Using a stainless steel double boiler. Put in water, then stir in the other ingredients. Stir in well using a wooden spoon. Cook for thirty minutes over boiling water, stirring constantly. Application is much the same as cansema. Apply a thin layer (2-3mm) of the paste over the affected area and cover for 24 hours. Then remove the covering but do not disturb the lesion at all, do not attempt to pull the cancer out at any time, it should fall out in 10 days or so. Some people with sensitive skin put Vaseline or antibiotic ointment around the cancer so that the paste does not irritate the skin."

07/22/2008: Joyce from Joelton, Tn replies: "To Char from Jarow: Hello Char, thought I'd warn you that you could get a lot of people to debate the issue with you. I agree with you that warts are not cancer, but are caused by a virus. The old folks used to tell us kids that frogs cause the warts. Later the general concensus seemed to change to state that the warts were caused by a virus, but the frogs harbored the virus. But the reason you could get into a heated debate on this issue is, that many cancers today are thought to follow having a viral infection. That said, I also will state that I have no doubt that black salve (bloodroot salve) will remove warts since it did such a fine job of removing actinic kertatosis on my back which is currently thought to be caused by too much sun exposure and a precursor to skin cancer. However, should I get any more warts, I will try the inner lining of the banana peel that EC sharers say works so well. It is much cheaper than black salve. However if the FDA succeeds in passing their little sneaky law that they tried to push through without anyone knowing about it, the CODEX law which would make all vitamins, minerals, herbals and supplements drugs and under the control of FDA and AMA and doctors which would put them out of reach without a prescription and a trip to the doctor for that prescription and that would mean $5-$l00 dollars to the doctor and probably that much or more for the newly declared drug that you wanted. Go to Mike Adams site Natural News to read more about this - also to Natural Sources or Health Freedom sites. Dr. Laibow has some interesting comments about CODEX!! This is the 3rd attempt that I can recall for the AMA trying to gain control over these things, which tells me that if they didn't work so well and so much safer than big Pharm's dangerous, expensive drugs, they wouldn't be trying so hard. They don't like losing money because you now have a choice. That may change very shortly unless more users join the battle against the FDA's action."

CASTOR OIL AND BAKING SODA

[YEA]  04/23/2010: Anna from London, Uk writes: "Castor Oil and Baking Soda for Warts

I keep a mixture which I keep in a pot with a little spoon for warts. It's a really simple mix of castor oil and baking soda made into a paste.

Every night for 3 weeks as you are going to bed cover the wart in the paste and tape over it. In the morning you take off the tape and do nothing.

You leave it to slowly die and fall off on it's own over a few weeks. If it's a nice big established wart and doesn't look like it's dying then repeat the 3 weeks of taping at night.

The mixture effectively suffocates the thing, like a plant without oxygen.

Sometimes I use corn plasters and fill the hole in the middle with the paste, this is for my kids who are a bit wriggly - it keeps the paste in place.

It has never failed me and it's the simplest thing to do. It doesn't hurt either. You just have to be patient. Usually you look one day and it's fallen off without you even realising, because it dies after the treatment has ended."

I had some plantar warts on my foot for about a year, then I started rubbing coconut oil on my feet to help soften the skin and make walking more comfortable. After about 2 months of this, I was just starting to think of going to the doctor to have them removed (with much dread) when I noticed that the warts had shrunk. Then about 1-2 weeks later, the dead skin just peeled off like a callous, revealing soft healthy skin underneath. It wasn't an overnight cure, but the time was a small price to pay for not having them dug out! I know they were warts because they had the little black spots in them, they hurt or bled if scraped, and a couple of small ones had appeared elsewhere on my foot. I also use coconut oil in food preparation on a regular basis, as well as topically on all areas of the skin."

CORN REMOVER

YEA

[YEA]  04/01/2006: Caleb from New York, NY writes: "Commercial corn removers are not made for plantar warts, of course, but here's what happened when I had a plantar wart several years ago. It was very painful to walk on, and I couldn't cut right into the wart because it was tender, so I applied corn remover (a little brown irritating pellet covered by a bandage -- they are sold commercially). The corn remover caused the surface of the wart to die (it took a day or two), and I would end up with a thick layer of dead skin which I could trim away with cuticle nippers. When the wart grew back, I would apply the irritating medication again and trim it again. With most of the wart trimmed away, it didn't hurt when I walked on it. Then one day I trimmed particularly deeply (though I experienced no bleeding or pain), and apparently I trimmed away the "core" of the wart (each wart has a core where the infection subsides and generates the growing skin that forms the wart). After that, the skin just healed and went back to normal. When applying the irritating pellet to the wart, you have to be careful not to put it on the healthy skin around the wart. This technique shouldn't be tried with normal warts on other parts of the body."

DIETARY CHANGES

[YEA]  08/14/2010: Kayll from New England, Usa writes: "Over the past year, I've been eating poorly and gaining weight rapidly. Along with the uncomfortableness of excess weight, I noticed three warts on my feet: two on my left and one on my right foot. Thankfully they aren't painful. However, I've noticed that they are getting bigger and bigger. Not waiting until they got painful to do something about them, I started researching.

I had bought some OTC products which didn't really work. At the same time, I started changing my diet to include a ton of mixed greens and salads. A read a book about adding mixed greens to the diet. The author had some warts on her body and after she started drinking green smoothies daily, they fell right off.

Well, I can happily say that two of my three warts have fallen off! The third one is in an area on my foot where I can feel it, but can't bend properly to see it. It's flatter than it was and may fall off on it's own soon, too!

For the past two weeks, I've been eating a big salad for lunch every day with mixed greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, pecans or almonds, peppers, and beans of some type - with fat free dressing. I haven't lost weight because I'm still eating junkfood at night and heavy meals for dinner. But I will change that soon.

Another popular author I was reading talked about the importance of nutrition and health. He has similar diet recommendations - eating at least one pound of raw vegetables and one pound of raw fruits (who cooks fruits.. Maybe applesauce?). As I continue eating 1lb of veggies (i.e. my salad) and 1lb of fruit daily (for breakfast), I will comment about other ailments that should hopefully go away. I have really bad skin - sometimes called chicken skin - on my arms. I'm hoping diet will help that, too."

As far as green smoothies go unfortunately I don't like them but I have been drinking quite a bit of vegetable juice mixed with fruit as well for the past 8 months. Don't forget that your body needs fat so eating the salads with no dressing might not be a good idea. Healthy fats are good for you and I can tell you that since my naturopath told me that my skin was too dry because I wasn't eating enough fat at least the skin on my face is a lot smoother (my legs are still too dry but maybe that will change soon)!"

His mother had one on her finger before she was pregnant so I guess she must have passed to him. She also put dmso on a band aid and the wart left as well. I got the dmso at a health food store."
