[YEA] 09/21/2006: Anj from London, UK: "Cut a lemon or /lime into halves or slices, sprinkle about 1/2 to 3/4 teaspoon of salt and same amount of black pepper. roast/ oven bake/direct on gas fire/ barbecue/ cover it and microwave for 40 seconds, salt and pepper side on top till bubbley juice comes out. Let it cool down but don't let it go completely cold, it should be hot. Suck with the pulp direct from the lemon slices/halves as the peel has secreted some juices that you need. Same method can be used with sour oranges or tangerines.
This recipe came from my mum who used it on all her kids as natural alternative which would not give any side effect, to cure headaches, migrains, cough and colds, flu, as well as when someone feels sick as if they want to vomit. This is a ideal alternative medicine for diabetics and ideal for everyone as you don't have to go shopping, everything you'll have in your home when you have any of these problems. All of us brothers and sisters have been using this all these years, may be it might help someone who wants to try natural alternatives which would not give them any side effects especially if they are diabetics."

[YEA] 01/19/2007: Darcy from Columbus, OH: "A cold, wet compress layed across the throat will dramatically reduce or eliminate nausea. It might even keep you from vomiting if you're on the edge."
Replies01/31/2012: Octobergirl from Statesville, Nc replies: "This works best when nausea is first starting up. I work in a hospital and have used it many times while waiting for an RN to get medication to the patient. A lot of the time the nausea has passed and they only take the medication to keep it from coming back. My mother-in-law had a lot of sickness and she always found at least partial relief using this method."
[YEA] 03/07/2012: Heather from Cincinnati, Oh replies: "This works, only we have always placed it on our foreheads. This has been used for generations in my family. A cold wet wash rag placed across the forehead. There's something about it cooling your body and settling the stomach. Done at the first sign of nausea it will often pass, or at least make it less frequent. Usually for us though it passes, except in the worst cases. I've used this with both of my kids dozens of times. It is my first line of defense when nausea strikes."
03/24/2012: Okm from Salt City, Ut replies: "Go to the pharmacy and buy a bottle of coke syrup. It is an old fashioned recipe to cure nausea. 1 tbsp over some ice sipped slowly is usually all you need to say good riddance to nausea."

[YEA] 01/19/2011: Ec from Indianapolis, In: "My 6 year old woke up vomiting from a sound sleep & continued non stop for about 20 minutes before I looked up this remedy. My hubby juiced an onion with a garlic press & just picked out the big pieces of onion. He drank the onion juice down like a champ & then sipped some black tea for a few minutes. He just went back to bed as if nothing had happened. Amazing!"
Replies01/20/2011: Chief Ayo from Middletown, Delaware replies: "Thank you for the post. An easier way to get the same result, especially from a child or adult that rejects the taste of raw onion, is to slice the onion as you would to put on a hamburger(about 1/4 inch thick)and place the onion slice under the arms of the person who is Experiencing Nausea/vomiting right next to armpit skin. In no time the symptoms will dissapate. There is NO Physical ailment That Nature's pharmacy cannot cure, with one way or the other... Believe That!"
[NAY] 12/26/2009: Richard from Puyallup, Wa: "Have a 10 yr old son. Started vomiting at 4 in the am. Turned to dry heaves/bile and continued about every half-hour for the next 6 hours.
Tried the onion juice & peppermint tea. It did not work. He retched it back up within about 30 seconds. I would not recommend the onion."
[YEA] 02/25/2009: Fadi from Madison, WI: "Hi my brother had been vomiting severely for 8 hours and had vomited 5-6 times. Before we went to the doctor as a last ditch effort we decided to try the onion juice peppermint tea remedy and wait for an hr. IT WORKED! he said it tasted terrible and burned like fire but it was worth it! Thank you so much for the remedy!!! (also we used chamomile, mint and sage combo in the tea :)) thanks again"
Replies[YEA] 11/10/2009: Tony from Jakarta, Indonesia replies: "This remedy worked like magic on 14 year old daughter. She vomitted several times. I tried giving here activated carbon with water, but she vomited it out after 5 to 10 minutes. Then I read your remedy of onion juice and tea. She drank it, and her vomitting stopped. I also read from another web site that plain water induces vomiting. So we should also refrain from drinking plain water, but drink tea instead.
Thank you!"
[YEA] 06/28/2008: Katie from St. Louis, Missouri: "I've had a stomach bug for the last couple of days, feeling worse today. I took pepto bismo, did nothing. I tried the onion juice and can finally keep down liquids, even feeling hunger. Very thankful for this remedy!"
[YEA] 03/27/2008: Linda from Harrison, Arkansas: "I found onion liquid juice in the local grocery store, in the spice and extract section, it would save alot of time and tears. and yes it is working!!"

[YEA] 01/17/2010: Bk from New York, Ny: "E.C.'s onion juice remedy worked for me! I got what I assume to be food poisoning from sushi and couldn't stop vomiting. I would vomit every 20 minutes for over 4 hours. Finally, my boyfriend was looking up remedies to stop it and he found this one so he went out and got the simple ingredients and it worked! He had to force me to take it because I was so nauseous but I'm glad he did! Within in minutes I felt better! It burned really bad going down but it was worth it. I was good for another couple of hours when I started to feel like vomiting again, so he made me some more, I took it and went to bed. Great remedy!!!
Thank you!"
[YEA] 10/18/2010: Dobeluver2431 from Palm Springs, Fl replies: "This is an absolute keeper! After violently vomiting for 6 hours yesterday, I finally researched home remedies for my husband and came across this. He was quite hesitant with the onion juice, but I assured him that I thoroughly researched it and it'll work. Needless to say, within an hour he stopped vomiting and was actually able to get a whole nights' sleep (again, after violently vomiting from 9am-6pm last night). We're still not sure what made him sick (as I ate the same thing he did the day before), but will definitely refer this remedy to anyone who has this happen. Thank you sooo much!!"

Replies[YEA] 11/20/2011: Mandy from London, Uk replies: "Flat coke worked wonders for me. Just pour out a couple of glasses, allow to go flat. Sip at it and the vomiting and nausea should stop. Only take small sips."
General Feedback
07/21/2012: Parker from Toronto, Ontario, Canada: "I'm confused. Everyone who swears by a vomiting cure (be it ginger, black tea, ACV, etc) have all been vomiting multiple times and for hours. Then they take "x" cure and say "Wow, it worked instantly! " But isn't it more likely that the virus or food poisoning ran its course after so long? Isn't that a more likely explanation than any of these remedies working so miraculously?"
Replies07/22/2012: G from Anon replies: "No. Don't disbelieve before you do more honest research (skip over any Med/ADA/pharm/etc. sites)."
08/06/2012: Elsaeasterly from Elsewhere, Ca replies: "Parker, I can give my experience with some of these remedies. A couple of years ago I decided to commit some of them to memory to try the next time I was plagued with stomach troubles. On one occasion I woke up with a terribly upset stomach. I remembered ACV and I quickly swallowed 2 tablespoons of it. Five minutes later I threw up, so negative on the ACV. I decided that I would not give up, though, and used some other remedies I read about here.
I drank hot black tea and ate spoonfuls of raw honey alternately every couple of hours throughout the day, and I did not throw up again. What is significant about this? Not once can I remember a time, going all the way back to my childhood, that I vomited only one time. My pattern has always been that I will vomit once and then approximately two hours later I will have a second bout. The black tea and honey prevented the second bout.
Since then there have been other times when I had that same horrific feeling of impending doom, and I immediately downed some raw honey, and then brewed some black tea as quickly as I could. I haven't had any problems since."

[YEA] 01/05/2008: Gus from Elko, nevada: "I have been sick with some kind of stomach virus when I found something in a pamphlet about using ginger to help cure stomach pains and cramps. I asked my mom about it and she said she had some ginger root and ginger tea I tried the tea but that just made it worse. I tried a pill with ginger root in it and the pain went away within the hour. you can get ginger root at any drug store without a persciption. Also if you are puking so much you can't take pills try some ginger ale it doesn't have as much ginger in it so it won't work as well, but it could calm your stomach enough to take a ginger pill. take one pill wait 10 minutes and take one more pill. This ginger remedy helps with nausea, really works."
Replies08/18/2008: Tania from Newport Beach, CA replies: "I freeze Ginger Root in a ziplock baggie in my freezer and cut a bit off, microwave it for 20 seconds and squeeze it in a bottle of water or a cup of peppermint tea!"

[YEA] 01/06/2013: Elena from Corvallis, Or: "My son was suffering from a terrible stomach virus and was throwing up at least once an hour all day. He could not keep any liquids down, even when he took only small sips at a time. I read on here to give him a spoonfull of raw honey, so I did. He threw up one more time after taking it, and I gave him another spoonful. After that, he stopped vomitting and returned to normal! It worked like a charm!"
[NAY] 03/12/2011: Jessica from Liberty, Mo: "My 2 year-old started vomiting an hour ago. It was on her birthday minutes before her birthday party, so I really wanted to help her feel better. I tried 2 teaspoons of raw honey. She ate it and said it was yummy, but it came up 5 minutes later, and she has vomitted 4 times since then in the last 30 minutes. Sadly, this remedy did not work for us! :("

After constant vomitting and diarrhea for over 8 hours I slowly sucked on a large tablespoon of raw honey, went back to sleep and haven't had symptoms since. I have been able to keep down water and been sipping on peppermint tea. What a fabulous site and such a lovely remedy! Thanks!"

Replies[YEA] 02/28/2012: Momof4 from Nashville, Tn replies: "Sooooo glad I found this site! My four year old woke up this morning vomiting nothing but bile. He would have a sip of water and start again. He had bad stomach ache and whined and paced like a caged cat. No fever or anything else. After the second shower and the third change of clothes, he was crying and I desperately searched the internet for SOMETHING to help him. Yea, 1 TSP of raw honey (the only thing we use anyway) he not only stopped crying but within 4 mintues he was sound asleep. He slept 3 hours and awoke with no stomachache. I went ahead and gave him warm water and honey with clove cinnamon and nutmeg, to start out slowly and so far- so good!! THANK YOU!!!!"
